0:05 Hello everyone. I hope all of you guys
0:08 are doing great. Welcome to today's
0:11 lecture about keyword research which is
0:13 also called as the foundation or you can
0:17 say the main step within SEO. I hope you
0:18 guys enjoyed watching the earlier
0:20 lecture which was our day one
0:22 introduction to SEO. Now we'll be
0:23 learning about what exactly are
0:26 keywords. In our previous lecture, we
0:29 had learned about what exactly are the
0:31 different types of keyword intent. And
0:32 in case if you guys don't remember it,
0:35 that's completely okay. What I'll do,
0:37 I'll just give you guys a very quick
0:41 recap about the same. So, uh let's check
0:42 what are the different types of keyword
0:45 intent. So if you guys remember the
0:48 first intent wasformational intent and
0:50 the second is navigational and then the
0:52 third one is commercial intent and
0:54 fourth one is transactional intent and
0:56 there's one more which is also called as
0:59 local SEO intent. So now information
1:02 intent is something wherein a user is
1:04 trying to find some information on
1:07 Google. It can be any kind of wh
1:09 questions or how questions or any sort
1:12 of information right. So for example,
1:14 let's say when somebody's searching for
1:17 what is data science. So you will see
1:20 this is a question. So here the user is
1:23 trying to find some information on
1:26 Google and Google will show results in
1:30 AI overview format in uh on the top and
1:32 then couple of people also ask for
1:34 questions and whatever results that you
1:36 see the organic results those are
1:40 usually the blogs and articles you see
1:42 what is data science the moment when you
1:46 open them so uh link by Corsera yeah so
1:48 when you're opening them so you you will
1:50 see that this is an article which is
1:53 giving you information. Okay. So you see
1:55 what is data science by looking at the
1:58 URL itself you guys would be able to you
2:00 know judge that what kind of page is
2:03 this right? So this is one and the other
2:06 one I from IBM.com you see what is data
2:08 science so this page is providing
2:11 information. So usually whenever
2:15 aformational intent keyword is targeted,
2:18 we usually target it on a blog or an
2:21 article or any kind of informative page.
2:24 I hope that is clear. Now let's jump in
2:29 to the other intent.
2:30 All right. So now one of the other
2:33 intent I can think of is a navigational
2:36 intent which is searching for a brand
2:38 term. Navigation intent is also called
2:41 as branded search. So when you are
2:42 searching for something like uh let's
2:46 say Facebook login right so here you are
2:49 typing a brand name and you will only
2:51 see the branded results coming up there.
2:53 So that is called as navigational intent
2:59 or let's say I want to search for uh um
3:06 this is again a navigational intent
3:08 because I'm typing the brand name which
3:12 is ICICI here got it so navigation
3:15 intent means wherein a brand term is
3:20 associated now let's jump into the other
3:22 um intent which is also called as
3:24 commercial intent. So now commercial
3:28 intent is nothing but it is kind of a uh
3:30 intent wherein a user is researching
3:32 more about a product service or maybe
3:34 they are into the middle of the funnel
3:37 within the customer acquisition funnel.
3:38 So they're just trying to research a bit
3:42 more about a product service or whatever
3:43 information they are trying to search
3:47 for. And guys you have to remember that
3:49 uh lot of keywords would have multiple
3:51 intent with them. So the moment when
3:54 you're searching for let's say um iPhone
3:59 15 Pro 256GB. So this keyword has got
4:01 branded uh intent as well which is
4:03 navigation intent since you're using the
4:05 brand term iPhone and this keyword has
4:07 also got a transactional intent. So
4:10 there is a possibility that one keyword
4:12 might have multiple intent. So now
4:14 coming back to the commercial intent. So
4:16 when you're searching for something like
4:18 let's say Android phones, you know
4:20 you're not clear about what exactly
4:21 you're planning to buy here. You just
4:23 know that you're buying uh you want to
4:25 buy something which is Android. So
4:26 you're searching for Android phones and
4:29 usually whenever for commercial intent
4:31 you will always see category pages
4:34 coming up on top. So you see Flipkart is
4:38 coming up here and then uh um lot of
4:41 other websites like PC Mag right. So
4:45 here you will find multiple products in
4:47 one page.
4:50 You see best Android phones for 2025.
4:52 This page is a blog page plus this page
4:56 is also a commercial page because you
4:58 can see multiple products coming in
5:02 here. Got it guys? So this is called as
5:05 commercial intent. Okay. So maybe
5:08 Android phones or laptops under 50,000
5:12 or uh maybe like uh uh genes of 36 uh
5:15 size or anything which is uh which has
5:17 got multiple results to show that is
5:19 called as commercial intent and
5:23 transactional intent as uh we saw in the
5:25 other lecture. So now when you're
5:30 searching for iPhone 16 Pro 256GB
5:34 right in black color right so here you
5:36 would be able to see most of the product
5:38 pages coming up on top so this pages are
5:41 not showing anything extra it is just
5:44 showing you a single product right so
5:47 this is a
5:50 transaction intent so my iPhone 16 pro
5:52 you see just one phone here and then
5:55 again this Right? So you see this is
5:57 called as a transaction intent wherein
6:00 the customer is is in the bottom of the
6:02 funnel and they are ready to make a
6:04 purchase. So whenever you are doing
6:06 keyword research and if you come across
6:08 any transactional intent keywords, you
6:10 should be mapping them to product pages
6:19 Okay. So now uh let's try searching for
6:21 a local SEO intent keyword. So whenever
6:24 you're searching for something like uh
6:27 pizza shops near me
6:29 right and here you will be able to see
6:32 the pizza shops located to your nearby
6:34 location. So this is called as local
6:38 SEO. So local SEO searches are something
6:40 wherein they will show you all the
6:44 nearby shops or the local uh results
6:46 which are associated to your query. So
6:49 this can be near me or maybe pizza shops
6:51 in Mumbai, pizza shops in Delhi or
6:54 coffee shops in Gazyabad. Right? So
6:57 these are all local SEO intent. I hope
6:59 the intent is clear guys. And now let's
7:09 All right guys, so as I mentioned,
7:12 keyword research is the first step
7:14 within SEO. So unless and until you
7:17 don't research a keyword properly, it
7:19 would be a bit difficult for you guys to
7:23 map your SEO strategy. So today we'll be
7:25 deep dive into the keyword research
7:27 which is uh kind of a pillar or corner
7:30 store of any effective SEO strategy
7:32 understanding what your audience is
7:34 searching because unless and until you
7:37 don't understand what the audience want
7:39 or what is the intent of that audience
7:42 so you won't be able to formulate your
7:44 SEO strategy properly right so we need
7:47 to rank higher right so for ranking
7:49 higher we need to understand the intent
7:52 of the customer properly Okay, so why
7:53 keywords? Keywords are the bridge
7:55 between your content and your audience
7:57 and they reveal what potential customers
8:00 are typing into the search engines. So
8:03 keywords usually give you the demand
8:04 uncover what people are actively
8:07 searching for and the target audience
8:09 who are exactly your target audience. So
8:13 let's say if my website deals with um
8:16 men's grooming products. So my target
8:18 audience would be you typically people
8:22 who are from the age group of 18 to
8:24 maybe 55 60 who are searching on
8:26 internet right so target audience
8:28 defining uh is very much important and
8:31 then informing the content guide your
8:33 content creation for the maximum impact
8:34 so whatever keywords that you're
8:36 shortlisting or you're choosing so you
8:39 need to create a very good content on
8:41 your website for those keywords then
8:43 only Google will show that page up on
8:46 top if Google finds that for a typical
8:48 keyword your website has got a relevant
8:50 content definitely they are going to
8:52 pick that up and they will show it on
8:55 top of Google.
8:58 So as uh we already understood what
9:00 exactly is search intent but yeah here's
9:02 a very quick recap. Information intent
9:04 users are looking for answers to
9:06 questions how-to guides or general
9:08 information they are in learning phase.
9:10 So learning phase is also called as
9:12 awareness stage which is top of the
9:14 funnel. The the users are located in top
9:16 of the funnel within customer
9:18 acquisition funnel. So the customer
9:20 acquisition funnel usually has got three
9:22 stages. The first one is top of the
9:24 funnel which is also called as tofu. T O
9:27 F U and then middle of the funnel which
9:30 is called as mofu and then bottom of the
9:32 funnel which is bofu. So information
9:36 intent is usually situated at the top of
9:38 the funnel. So couple of examples how to
9:41 tie a tie or best dog food for puppies
9:44 or what is SEO what is data science how
9:46 to make good biryani at home right? So
9:49 all of these areformational intent and
9:51 the content type is usually you have to
9:54 make a blog post, article, guides,
9:56 tutorials. These kind of pages are
9:58 usually targeted for information intent
10:01 keywords. Now going to the second intent
10:04 which is commercial intent. So users are
10:06 searching products or services before
10:08 making a purchase. As we mentioned,
10:10 commercial intent people are located in
10:12 the middle of the funnel. So they're
10:14 comparing options and looking for
10:16 reviews. So let's say best smartphones
10:20 in 2024, CRM software reviews or online
10:23 survey tools, uh best digital marketing
10:25 courses, right? So the kind of content
10:27 that you have to create for commercial
10:29 intent keywords is product comparison
10:31 guides, reviews, feature breakdown of
10:34 your services. These are the commercial
10:36 intent keyword and transactional intent.
10:39 Pretty simple. So users are ready to buy
10:42 or to take some action and the users are
10:44 located at the bottom of the funnel. So
10:47 they know what exactly they want and
10:49 they are looking where to get those
10:52 right buy iPhone 15 Pro, order pizza
10:54 online and the content is product pages,
10:56 service pages, e-commerce listing pages.
10:59 These kind of pages usually target the
11:01 transaction intent and the local intent
11:04 everybody's uh aware about any kind of
11:08 near me or uh location specific keyword
11:11 and the navigational intent is uh kind
11:15 of a brand uh intent. So wherever you
11:17 are searching for any kind of brands so
11:19 that is called as navigational intent.
11:21 So the purpose of navigational intent is
11:24 to uh go directly to a known website
11:26 which you already know and that's why
11:28 you're typing that brand name there. So
11:30 for example, Facebook login, Amazon,
11:33 Nike official website, ICICI, Net
11:35 Banking, these are a couple of examples.
11:37 And implication for SEO, it is less
11:39 about ranking for the keyword, more
11:40 about ensuring your brand name and key
11:43 pages are easily findable. So how
11:45 frequently do you think you will be
11:47 searching for a branded term? You will
11:50 only search when you already know a
11:52 brand, right? So once you search for a
11:56 brand, the Google's algorithm is uh good
11:57 enough to understand that okay, so
11:59 you're looking out for a product from
12:01 this brand and they will typically show
12:04 that brand up on top. So guys, see we
12:06 need to understand why are we doing SEO?
12:09 So we are doing SEO because we want to
12:12 rank a particular website on top of
12:14 Google. And how will a website come up
12:17 come up on top? because of doing a
12:20 wonderful SEO you can say um optimizing
12:22 the website as per the good practices
12:24 set by the search engines and when
12:26 you're matching the intent of the user
12:28 definitely your website is going to rank
12:31 up on top and guys we will not do SEO
12:33 for the keywords for which we are
12:36 already ranking on top ultimate goal of
12:39 doing SEO is to get a keyword on top of
12:40 search engine not only in Google on
12:43 every other search engine but if your
12:46 keyword is already ranking on top then
12:47 there's no point of doing SEO on those
12:49 keywords because we have already
12:51 achieved the ultimate objective of doing
12:55 SEO. So for navigational intent
12:57 usually you will see that uh Google is
12:59 showing the websites up on top. So if I
13:02 take an example let's say uh check this
13:04 online survey tool. So when I'm
13:06 searching for this keyword I can see
13:08 sponsored result which is PPC. will
13:11 ignore sponsored and from here uh it's
13:13 all about
13:16 the organic results. So now let's say
13:20 that I want to rank for this keyword for
13:23 uh uh this website which is uh let me
13:26 check soalytics. Okay, so website so now
13:28 this website is situated in the second
13:31 page of Google. So now let's say so now
13:32 online survey tool is a commercial
13:35 keyword but yeah now let's say when
13:37 somebody's searching for soalytics
13:38 online survey tool or maybe online
13:40 survey tool by soyics when they hit
13:43 enter you will see soyics coming up on
13:46 top so here my goal is already achieved
13:47 so because this keyword is a
13:49 navigational intent the moment when I
13:52 type the brand name Google algorithm
13:54 understands that I am looking for this
13:56 brand and they will show this brand up
13:58 on top. So this is called as
14:00 navigational intent and we will not do
14:03 SEO for typically for keywords which are
14:04 branded searches or which are
14:07 navigational intent because the ultimate
14:09 goal is already achieved here. I hope
14:12 this makes sense guys.
14:15 Okay. So now let's move to the next slide.
14:20 All right. So now what we will try to do
14:23 is we'll try to understand different
14:25 type of keyword research tools. As I
14:27 mentioned in the earlier lecture guys,
14:30 this would be a theory plus practical
14:33 lecture wherein you should be able to
14:36 use some tools. So while you're watching
14:38 this video, I want you guys to try the
14:40 tools also. Okay. So there are couple of
14:43 tools which are used for doing SEO
14:45 keyword research. One of the best free
14:47 tools available is Google keyword
14:49 planner. So this is provided by Google
14:52 ads and it helps to find new keywords
14:54 and see the estimated search volume. So
14:57 what exactly are the different uh
14:59 metrics that we will be looking? So
15:01 while we look into the tool we will
15:03 explore them in detail and then Uber
15:06 suggest is also a very good tool but
15:09 yeah it is it is kind of a paid plan but
15:12 yeah for uh free you will just see some
15:14 couple of limited searches. Answer the
15:16 public is also very good and Google
15:20 search console is a tool which is uh
15:22 only provided when you have a or when
15:25 you own a website. Okay. So we'll just
15:27 try to understand this. So yeah but
15:29 before jumping in into the keyword
15:31 research I would like to give you guys a
15:34 quick brief about what are short head
15:37 keywords and longtail keywords. So any
15:39 keyword which has got less than three
15:41 words. So now if I say online survey
15:44 tool here. So this is just three words
15:46 right three or maybe max to max four
15:48 words. So any keyword which is very
15:50 short or you can say online survey these
15:53 are called as short head keyword and any
15:55 keyword which is which is specific and
15:57 there are so many words into it they're
16:00 called as longtail keyword. So for
16:05 example iPhone 16 pro 256 GB in black
16:09 color right so this keyword is called as
16:11 longtail keyword. This keyword is also
16:12 transaction intent but the other name of
16:16 this keyword is longtail keyword. Okay.
16:19 And uh iPhone 16 Pro this is short tail
16:21 keyword. Okay. So and these are just
16:24 some jarens or you can say terminologies
16:26 that you need to understand. All right.
16:29 So now let's move to uh the best tool
16:32 which is uh um Google keyword planner
16:34 which we will be using for doing free
16:36 keyword research. But yeah before doing
16:39 keyword research guys u I want you guys
16:42 to understand a concept of seed keywords
16:45 seed keywords. So now what exactly is
16:47 seed keywords. So whenever you are doing
16:50 keyword research first you need to
16:52 identify couple of seed keywords. Seed
16:53 keywords you can just imagine a seed
16:56 which is getting you know grown from
16:58 ground. So when a seed is grown right so
17:01 it grows into a small plant and then
17:02 into a tree and then into so many
17:05 branches. Correct? So in the same way
17:08 every before creating any pages on the
17:11 website or for your own website right
17:14 you need to understand and identify
17:16 which are the seed keywords for your
17:18 website. So seed keywords are nothing
17:21 but the foundation or you can say the uh
17:23 kind of yeah foundational keywords or
17:26 the main keywords which is helping you
17:28 to generate more keywords. So for
17:31 example, let's say I uh think of this.
17:34 Okay. So I'll just take an example of
17:37 online survey tool. So when I search for
17:39 online survey tool, so what are the
17:41 other searches that people can do? Okay.
17:44 So now let's say I am trying to optimize
17:47 this website.
17:49 So guys see keyword research can be done
17:51 in two phases. One when you already have
17:53 a website and two when you don't have a
17:55 website. When you already have a
17:57 website. So what you will do? you will
17:59 try to enhance your web page properly.
18:01 You'll have to see that okay so if all
18:03 the keywords are properly targeted on
18:05 this page or not does my page contains
18:08 all the necessary information or not and
18:10 uh the next step uh let's say if you
18:12 don't have a page when you don't have a
18:14 page and you're planning to create a new
18:16 page so what you will do you will go on
18:18 Google or maybe you will search for your
18:20 competitors you will try to see that
18:23 okay so what exactly my competitors are
18:25 trying to create pages for so you will
18:27 analyze your competitor you will try to
18:30 study their current content structure.
18:32 You will see that what kind of keywords
18:34 they are targeting and by taking
18:36 references, inspiration from your
18:38 competitors, you will just try to create
18:40 your page. Now you will do your keyword
18:41 research and you will just try to create
18:43 something better than your competitors.
18:46 Then only you would be able to rank up
18:48 on Google not only in Google on any
18:50 other search engines that you're looking
18:52 out for. So now let's say that we will
18:55 try to explore both the examples. So now
18:57 if I see this free online survey tool
19:00 here. So now you see what are the seat
19:01 keywords. So usually seed keywords are
19:04 located in the URL and when you further
19:06 deep dive into the content of that page
19:08 you would be able to see them. So for
19:11 example when I go to this website so
19:13 what kind of keywords people usually
19:15 search on Google. So you see create
19:17 surveys fast this is something which
19:19 people might search on Google and free
19:21 online survey tool. This is something
19:23 which people might search. Online survey
19:24 tool is something which people might
19:28 search and uh best online survey tool
19:30 which people might search on Google.
19:32 Right? So free online survey tool and
19:35 then u online survey platform. You see
19:37 these are all seed keywords that we are
19:41 trying to take up from this page. Okay.
19:44 So uh around 3 to five seat keywords are
19:45 more than enough guys to begin your
19:47 keyword research. So now let's say we
19:48 have taken those three five seat
19:51 keywords. So the next step is that we
19:53 will go for uh keyword research tool
19:57 which is um Google keyword planner. So
19:58 what you will do you will simply go to
20:01 this URL or you can search for uh
20:02 keyword planner on Google. So I have already
20:04 already
20:06 bookmarked this website. So when you
20:08 search for keyword planner you will see
20:10 the first result coming up here. Get
20:11 campaign keyword suggestions with
20:14 keyword planner. So when you click on
20:17 that you just need to sign in here with
20:24 after signing up so you will be uh asked
20:26 to enter some more basic information. So
20:28 after entering them so you would be able
20:31 to come to this section. Okay. So now
20:33 when you get to the section so what you
20:41 and uh within this tool you will see
20:44 keyword planner option. So you just just
20:45 need to click on this keyword planner
20:47 and there are two sections here discover
20:49 new keywords and get search volume and
20:51 forecast. So what we will do we'll be
20:53 discovering new keywords. So the moment
20:55 when you click on discover new keywords.
20:57 You see now I can select my targeted
20:59 location. Let's say I'm doing this
21:02 keyword research for United States. So
21:04 I'll change the location here. United
21:06 States include. I don't want to do it
21:09 for India. So I'm excluding because my
21:11 business I'm taking an example of
21:13 soalytics which is a business based in
21:16 US. So the targeted country is US right?
21:18 So I've removed India from here and I
21:21 can save guys. So if you're doing
21:23 keyword research for your local cities
21:26 or maybe your states right so you can
21:28 select those uh locations here. So now
21:30 let's say that if I'm doing it for
21:32 Mumbai so I can select Mumbai city also
21:34 and I can include and I can see that
21:36 what exactly people are searching within
21:38 Mumbai. Right. Right. So this is very uh
21:41 interesting guys. So please try doing a
21:42 keyword research for your nearby
21:44 locations and see what kind of search
21:46 volumes you're getting for the local
21:48 keywords that when people are searching.
21:50 But for now for example purpose we are
21:53 taking United States as a country here.
21:55 All right. So what were the seed
21:57 keywords? So whatever seed keywords we
22:00 are identifying we need to put those
22:03 keywords here in this section. So we
22:06 identified this online survey tool. So
22:08 I'm just putting that seed keyword here
22:20 platform and best survey tool or uh
22:22 you have to think in same direction guys
22:24 right so in case if you're falling short
22:27 of ideas for your seat keywords what you
22:28 can do you can take help from Google so
22:30 the moment when you search for online
22:32 survey you'll see that so many
22:34 suggestions are provided you see online
22:37 survey online survey form online survey
22:40 maker. Right? So you can pick up this
22:42 seat keywords or else you can also
22:44 scroll down and you can come to this
22:47 section which says as people also search
22:50 for online survey tool or you can see uh
22:52 yeah so let me just search for online
22:54 survey and let's see what kind of other
23:05 Okay. So now you see uh online survey
23:07 for students free online survey online
23:09 survey for money online survey app
23:11 online survey questions there are so
23:13 many ideas available here right so
23:15 coming back here online survey maker was
23:18 good survey maker right so as I
23:20 mentioned three to five seed keywords
23:21 are more than enough to begin your
23:24 keyword research journey and you can
23:26 also enter your site to filter unrelated
23:28 keywords so in case if you want to stick
23:30 to a particular uh site you can
23:32 definitely pick that up so For example,
23:35 let's say as we are taking an example of uh
23:37 uh
23:40 um this website soyitics, right? So I
23:42 can just enter this website here. So
23:44 this will just stick to this website
23:46 category. It is not compulsory guys. But
23:48 yeah, in case if you want to enter a
23:50 site to filter unrelated keywords, you
23:53 can enter it. And now all you need to do
23:56 is just click on get results.
24:00 So remember we just uh had put four
24:02 keywords as seed keywords and maximum 10
24:05 seed keywords you can put at one time.
24:07 So this keyword planner will show you
24:10 the data from for the last one year. So
24:12 in last one year how the search trend
24:15 has been happening here. So if you look
24:18 here keywords you provided so you can
24:20 see the average monthly search volume.
24:22 So how many people on an average from
24:25 the location from United States are
24:26 searching for that keyword right? So
24:29 1,000 to 10,000 people are searching for
24:31 this keyword on an average in United
24:33 States and what is the 31 change
24:35 competition level. So all of this
24:38 information you can see online survey
24:40 platform 1,000 to 10,000 people best
24:42 survey tool online survey maker survey
24:45 platform you see keyword ideas. Now
24:47 Google is providing you keyword ideas.
24:49 So apart from this keywords, what are
24:51 the other keyword ideas that you can
24:53 pick? Right? So you see there are so
24:55 many keyword ideas available. So all I
24:57 did was I just entered four seed
25:00 keywords and I got 498 keyword ideas
25:02 available. So I can further refine this
25:04 keywords also. I don't want to target
25:06 other brand keywords because you you
25:09 will not use other brand names on your
25:11 website. Right? So what I can do I can
25:14 remove other brands.
25:17 So here uh let's say I want to remove Google.
25:19 Google.
25:23 I can remove the other uh years. Nobody
25:25 is searching for 2022 right now. So I
25:28 can just refine my keywords. So now from
25:32 498 I've got left with 486 keywords. So
25:34 what I'll do I'll quickly download this.
25:38 So I can download this into CSV file or
25:52 Right now, my file is downloaded. So,
26:02 All right. So, uh here's the file, guys.
26:04 So, what I'll do, I'll just remove the
26:07 unwanted filters here or maybe unwanted
26:10 columns and rows. So, I don't want this.
26:12 I don't want this. So, I'm just deleting
26:14 them. I don't need the currency right
26:16 now. And average monthly search. You
26:19 guys can see the numbers in 5,500
26:21 because we are using a free keyword
26:23 planner tool. The moment when you will
26:26 load some funds into your Google Ads
26:28 account or the Google keyword planner,
26:30 you would be able to see some precise
26:34 numbers there like uh 5,50 or maybe 520,
26:37 210, these kind of numbers there. Okay.
26:40 So yeah, I don't need all of this extra
26:42 information top of the page uh uh low
26:44 range and high range. So I'm just
26:47 deleting them. All I care about is the
26:50 keyword and their average monthly search
26:52 volume and their competition and
26:54 competition index value. Guys, see
26:56 whenever you're doing SEO, the best
26:58 keyword research tool I would say are
27:00 the paid tools like Uber suggest, SEM
27:03 Rush, Ahrif. But yeah, when you are
27:05 trying to learn things for free, you can
27:08 always begin with Google keyword planner
27:10 because Google keyword planner is a free
27:12 basic tool which is used without paying
27:15 any amount. You can use it but it is not
27:17 the perfect tool for doing the keyword
27:19 research. But yeah, just for learning
27:21 purpose to understand things. This tool
27:23 is actually very good. So what I'll do,
27:25 I'll show you guys uh how to do keyword
27:27 research using a Google keyword planner
27:29 which we are already exploring and I'll
27:32 also walk you guys through a paid tool.
27:35 Okay. So now you see here are so many
27:37 keywords here. So I'll also show you
27:39 guys a strategy how to shortlist the
27:42 best keywords. So 3 months change not
27:44 needed year-over-year change. I mean
27:46 this is just extra information in case
27:48 if you want you can keep it or else you
27:49 can delete it. and the competition that
27:52 you see here. So this competition is not
27:54 SEO competition the data which is
27:56 provided by Google keyword planner. So
27:59 this is not SEO competition. And the
28:01 competitive index value I mean out of
28:03 100 people how many people are actually
28:05 bidding for this keyword. When I say the
28:07 word bidding it means they're paying
28:10 Google to get on top on Google ads not
28:13 on SEO. Okay. So competition index value
28:15 and competition that you see is paid
28:18 competition. paid ads competition on
28:20 Google and this is not the SEO
28:22 competition but still for learning
28:25 purpose let's consider this as a SEO
28:28 competition. Okay. So right now I can
28:30 see so many keywords here. So the
28:33 initially the strategy should be always
28:35 try to find keywords which are which has
28:36 got good search volume and low
28:39 competition. Whenever you're downloading
28:42 any sheet of keyword research, always
28:44 try to see the keywords which has got
28:46 good search volume, good average monthly
28:49 search volume and low competition. So
28:51 this keywords are the gold mines which
28:53 will help you get very good traffic and
28:55 good conversions and good rankings
28:58 quickly. Okay, SEO usually takes time
29:00 guys. Minimum 3 months to 6 months to
29:02 see some results whatever strategies you
29:04 guys are implementing. But yeah, so
29:06 these are couple of good strategies that
29:09 you can use. So now let's say uh let me
29:11 just try to add a filter. So I've added
29:13 a filter here and now I'll just sort
29:16 this out from largest to smallest. Let's
29:19 try to identify. So when I speak about
29:22 online survey tool, see I'm getting
29:24 keyword which says customer feedback
29:26 surveys. So if you feel customer
29:28 feedback surveys is related to online
29:30 survey tool, you can pick that keyword
29:33 or else you can just skip it or you can
29:35 just try to create another page for
29:37 customer feedback surveys. So online
29:39 survey tool is a very good keyword. So
29:41 what I'll do, I'll just mark it this in
29:43 green. Online survey platform good
29:47 keyword marking it in green right. So
29:49 what I'll do um average monthly search
29:51 volume. So we have already sorted this.
29:54 Now I'll try to identify good search
29:56 volume keywords with low competition. So
30:00 I've uh added a filter right. So um on
30:02 an average you can pick around five to
30:04 10 keywords for one page depending on
30:06 the business goal. You can also pick two
30:08 to three keywords but yeah picking up
30:10 five to anything between five to 10
30:12 keywords which you can target on one
30:14 page. So you should be following up that
30:18 strategy online questioner tool. Okay.
30:19 So whenever you're shortlisting keywords
30:21 guys, let's say you're short planning to
30:23 short list six to eight keywords, what I
30:25 will suggest always try to use a
30:28 strategy which is mix strategy. So if
30:31 I'm shortlisting 8 to 10 keywords, what
30:33 I'll do? I'll take 50% of my keywords
30:37 from low competition, 25% I'll take from
30:40 medium competition and 25% I can take
30:42 from high competition. This strategy is
30:44 wonderful guys because this will
30:46 definitely work and you will see that
30:48 whatever keywords have got low
30:50 competition, you will start ranking for
30:52 those keywords quickly on Google when
30:53 you target those keywords properly on
30:56 your website and create a very good page
30:58 content with the intent of those
31:02 keywords. So uh what I'll do let's say
31:04 that I'm shortlisting around 10
31:07 keywords. So I'll just try to see some
31:11 good keywords here. So yeah, I'm just uh
31:15 marking them up in green color. Online
31:17 service software is also a good keyword.
31:19 So let's say I've shortlisted all of
31:21 this keywords here. And now my next step
31:25 would be I'll try to get medium search volume.
31:27 volume.
31:29 Okay, online survey maker is a good
31:31 keyword for that page. You have to keep
31:33 the page intent. Okay, so what kind of
31:35 page you're creating? Online questioner
31:37 maker is also a good keyword. Online
31:40 survey creator is a good keyword, right?
31:43 So yeah, you see how I'm getting a lot
31:48 of keyword ideas. And now I'll go to
31:49 high competition.
31:51 All right. So when I'm putting high
31:53 competition, free survey maker, you have
31:55 to ensure if your website is actually
31:57 giving a free survey maker. But since I
32:00 know soil, so they offer a free survey
32:02 maker. So that's why I'm shortlisting
32:04 this. I if your website is not giving
32:06 anything for free guys don't target free
32:09 keywords okay because you are just uh
32:11 trying to fool the customers by
32:13 targeting this keywords so uh please
32:16 ensure that whatever uh uh is your
32:18 website service so you need to be very
32:21 much aware about the same okay free
32:23 survey generator is also good keyword so
32:25 I think this many keywords would be fine
32:28 for now to go ahead with all right so my
32:32 short listing is done so uh what I'll do
32:35 I'll just filter by color. So I
32:37 filtered. So these are my final
32:39 keywords. So I can copy them. I can keep
32:41 it in some other sheet. So these are my
32:43 final keywords which I will be targeting
32:45 on that online survey tool page which
32:49 was this page. Right. So online survey
32:54 tool page. Uh okay hold on. So the page
32:56 is here. Yeah online survey tool. Right.
33:00 So if I'm uh doing keyword research for
33:02 this page, I will be targeting these set
33:04 of keywords here. Got it guys? You see
33:07 this is very interesting and very easy.
33:08 So this is how you will do a keyword
33:11 research using Google keyword planner.
33:13 And there are so many other tools
33:15 available like Uber suggest. So you can
33:17 just see Uber suggest keyword research.
33:20 You can simply search for that tool on Google.
33:26 And here you just need to enter a domain
33:28 or just one keyword, right? So you can
33:31 sign in with your Gmail account and
33:33 let's say I'm just entering this online
33:37 survey tool and the location is US which
33:40 is proper
33:47 Okay. So now do you see this SEO
33:49 difficulty? So SEO difficulty is
33:51 something which you have to keep in mind
33:54 because how difficult this keyword is to
33:55 rank on top of Google. So if you're
33:58 planning to target this uh uh keyword
34:01 and for your website so how difficult it
34:04 is for you to get on top of Google. So
34:07 it says 73 which is kind of uh you know
34:09 a bit difficult. Now you see the search
34:12 volume and remember guys no two tools
34:14 will show you the same data. So the
34:15 search volume that you see on Uber
34:17 suggest is different. The search volume
34:19 that you see in Google keyword planner
34:21 would be different and the search volume
34:22 that you will see with other paid tools
34:26 like SEMrush, Ahrif or Pro Rank Tracker,
34:28 it would be different. All right. So
34:31 what I trust is so when it comes to
34:33 search volume I usually trust the data
34:35 that we get from Google keyword planner
34:38 and for competition and other SEO
34:40 metrics what I do I trust the data that
34:43 we get from other paid keyword research
34:45 tools. Okay. So now I've searched for
34:48 online survey tool. You see I have got
34:50 the keyword overview. What is the search
34:53 volume and how many people are searching
34:56 for this keyword in US, Canada and all
34:58 the locations. I can see paid search
35:00 difficulty and SEO difficulty also here
35:03 and search volume and what are the other
35:05 keyword ideas you see online survey
35:07 software free survey creator best online
35:09 survey tool. I can see those
35:10 suggestions. What are the questions
35:13 people are asking for those uh keywords?
35:15 what are the proposition, comparison and
35:17 everything and what kind of content that
35:20 you can create. All right, so all of
35:22 this information with some paid tools
35:24 like Uber suggest and let me just show
35:27 you another paid tool which is SEM Rush.
35:30 One of my personal favorite tool so I've
35:33 got a paid subscription for this. Uh
35:35 this is quite an expensive tool but yeah
35:37 uh you can uh definitely use it for free
35:39 with some limited searches, right? So
35:41 when you go on SEM Rush, so what you can
35:43 do, you can just uh go to the section
35:45 which says keyword magic tool. All you
35:47 need to do is just enter your keyword
35:49 and the location. Now let's say my
35:52 keyword is online survey tool. My
35:54 location is US. I can just simply click
36:02 right. So now here you can see so see so
36:04 many keywords that you have got and the
36:05 best part of SEM brush is it will also
36:07 tell you the intent of that keyword.
36:09 What is the intent? So this keyword when
36:11 somebody's searching for online survey
36:13 tools the intent is informational and
36:15 commercial the search volume and the
36:17 keyword difficulty. You see the moment
36:18 when you hover to this section they will
36:20 tell you that how difficult this keyword
36:23 is to rank for 70 which is quite hard.
36:24 You'll need lot of high quality
36:26 referring domains and optimized content
36:28 in order to rank for this keyword. And
36:30 now as I told you the initial step
36:32 should be always try to find the
36:34 keywords which are easy to rank and has
36:37 got a decent search volume. So you can
36:39 use some filters here. So you see KD
36:42 percentage. KD means keyword difficulty.
36:44 Okay. So it shows how hard it would be
36:46 for your website to rank organically in
36:49 Google top 10 for a listed keyword.
36:51 Higher the percentage, the harder it
36:53 will be to achieve the high rankings. So
36:55 what you can do, you can go to this KD
36:57 percentage and just try to find some
36:59 quick keywords which are easy to rank.
37:02 So you can put a filter here like custom
37:07 range from 0% to uh anything which is 49
37:10 0 to 49 are easy keywords to rank for.
37:11 Just try to find some keywords like
37:13 this. So right now I can just see one
37:15 keyword which is best online survey tool
37:17 which has got a commercial intent and
37:19 the keyword difficult is possible. So
37:21 all you need is just a well structured
37:24 and unique content. Okay. So uh let's
37:26 try some other keyword. So now let's say
37:30 I'm searching for digital marketing course.
37:40 Okay. So the filter is already applied
37:42 here. Do you see other keywords like
37:44 online digital marketing course? You see
37:46 the volume is good. Keyword difficulty
37:48 is possible and there would be so many
37:50 keywords like complete digital marketing
37:52 course for beginners. Reliable soft. You
37:54 see the moment this uh uh brand name is
37:56 appearing here they are telling that
37:58 this is the intent of this keyword is
38:00 navigation intent and transaction as I
38:02 mentioned one keyword can have multiple
38:04 intents digital marketing course in
38:07 Udaur digital marketing mastery course
38:10 you see road map to riches digital
38:12 marketing course these kind of keywords
38:14 are very easy to rank so if you are
38:15 choosing this keyword for your page
38:17 definitely you will start ranking very
38:21 quickly up on Google okay digital
38:23 marketing code syllabus. You see 140
38:24 people are searching. But yeah, this
38:26 intent is informational here. So this is
38:29 how you can use some paid tools and you
38:31 can just try to shortlist your best
38:33 keywords there. I hope this information
38:36 was uh useful guys. So this is how you
38:38 will do keyword research and then once
38:40 your keyword research is done, you will
38:42 just put the final keyword somewhere
38:44 save it in some Excel sheets something
38:46 like this and then you can move ahead
38:49 with your next step. Okay. So yeah, now
38:52 let's move ahead with these slides.
38:53 Answer the public is also a very good
38:57 tool guys. Uh so let's just check answer
39:00 the public.
39:02 So you can simply open this website and
39:04 just put your seed keyword. Any one seed
39:14 Well, this is taking a bit longer than
39:38 Okay, cool. So, enter a topic. My topic
39:41 is online survey tool, right? So let's
39:44 say the language is English and let's
39:47 try this for United States and when you
39:50 click on search you see you will get so
39:53 many results here. So what kind of
39:55 question people are searching. So you
39:57 know guys why are we doing this research
39:59 we are just trying to understand what
40:00 people are searching on search engines
40:03 and just trying to get those keywords
40:06 get those questions and create a content
40:08 create a web page using those keywords.
40:11 Okay. So online survey tool you see so
40:13 here why is online survey tool used in
40:15 business what is the popular online
40:17 survey tool. So these are the sections
40:19 which people are searching on Google. So
40:21 past section as I mentioned in the
40:23 earlier lecture is people also ask for
40:26 section. So what is the uh uh number one
40:28 online survey tool? Is there catch to
40:30 online surveys? What is the meaning of
40:32 online survey tool? Right? So there are
40:34 so many things that people are
40:36 searching. What are the disadvantages of
40:38 using an online survey? what is the most
40:41 popular survey tool? So all you need to
40:42 do is whenever you're creating a page
40:44 you have to integrate the same questions
40:46 on your website and create a good
40:48 content and whatever keywords that
40:50 you're shortlisting finalizing you have
40:53 to keep the same uh keywords on your
40:55 page right so after let's say all of
40:57 your research is done and you are left
40:59 with some keywords like this so out of
41:01 all of this keyword now we have to
41:04 classify okay so the classification so
41:07 which keywords uh out of all of this
41:11 keyword so which is the keyword that uh
41:15 you will take up as primary keyword. So
41:17 whatsoever keywords you guys are
41:19 shortlisting guys. So out of them one
41:21 should be your primary keyword and rest
41:23 all can be the secondary keyword right.
41:26 So the primary keyword usually should be
41:29 the one which is uh you know explaining
41:32 the entire page properly and by looking
41:34 into that keyword the user should be
41:35 able to know that okay so this page is
41:38 speaking about so and so keyword right.
41:41 So uh always try to choose the keyword
41:45 which has got the best intent and uh the
41:47 uh best relevancy and good search volume
41:51 competition. Okay. So uh always remember
41:53 four things whenever you're shortlisting
41:55 your primary keyword keep in mind four
41:57 things. The first thing is relevancy.
42:00 How relevant that keyword is with your
42:02 uh with your page the page that you're
42:05 creating. The second thing is how good
42:06 is the intent. Is the intent matching
42:08 with the page. If you're creating blog
42:10 page, you should be uh taking up
42:12 keywords which areformational intent. If
42:14 you're creating a commercial page, take
42:17 up commercial intent keywords, right?
42:19 So, first is relevancy, second is
42:21 intent, third, you can look into the
42:22 search volume and fourth, you can look
42:25 into the SEO difficulty or the how
42:27 difficult that keyword is to rank. So,
42:29 you have to keep this four parameters in
42:32 mind. So, now looking at this keywords,
42:34 I would say that online survey tool or
42:36 online survey platform is actually the
42:38 best keyword. So now let's say I'm
42:40 taking online survey platform as my
42:42 primary keyword because the search
42:44 volume is decent, competition is low,
42:46 competitive index value is just two
42:49 which means my chance of ranking on this
42:52 keyword would be higher. So I'll keep
42:54 this keyword as my primary keyword. I
42:57 can keep all rest as my secondary keywords.
43:03 Right? So this is my final keyword
43:04 research which is done. And if in case
43:06 if you feel there are some more keywords
43:08 I need to add or couple of irrelevant
43:11 keywords that I need to separate, I can
43:13 do that filteration also. But yeah,
43:14 whenever you're doing keyword research
43:17 guys, please stick to stick to one
43:19 pillar or one topic. Okay? So when I'm
43:20 researching about online survey
43:22 platform, I cannot take customer
43:24 feedback platform as my keyword because
43:26 the intent is different. Here the
43:27 customer is looking for some other
43:29 information. I cannot take employee
43:32 survey tool as one of the keyword. Okay?
43:34 because I can create a separate page for
43:35 that. So you have to think in one
43:37 direction. So this is how my keyword
43:41 research would be done. All right. So
43:44 now we have seen a practical stuff here.
43:46 All right. So you can also do
43:48 competitive analysis. You can see you
43:49 can visit the competitors and you can
43:52 see that what kind of keywords are they
43:54 targeting on their page. So how you will
43:55 do a competitive research. So when I
43:58 speak about online survey tool, right?
43:59 So just search for that keyword on
44:02 Google and see which competitors are
44:04 ranking up on top. So now survey monkey
44:07 is ranking, survey planet is ranking and
44:09 mentometer is ranking. So when you open
44:11 this website just see that what kind of
44:13 keywords they have included within their
44:17 website. So you see AI powered surveys.
44:18 So this is what you are taking an
44:21 inspiration for. And then uh most
44:23 popular survey platform you see popular
44:25 survey platform is one. So these are
44:29 some uh keywords expert surveys right.
44:32 So just check them on Google s Google
44:34 keyword planner and see that if those
44:36 keywords have got any search volume.
44:38 Never target those the keywords which
44:40 people are searching but there's no
44:41 search volume. There should be some
44:45 search volume of those keywords. Okay.
44:48 uh create fast surveys or uh yeah you
44:50 can just uh go through the page and you
44:53 can try finding a lot of other ideas and
44:56 the other uh competitor survey planet
44:58 powerful online survey tool simple
45:00 online survey tool you see free online
45:03 surveys create online surveys so these
45:04 are some keywords which they are
45:07 targeting and now when I go on menntimeter
45:09 menntimeter
45:12 interactive survey maker right free
45:15 survey maker create surveys for free So
45:17 uh easy to use survey tool. You see how
45:19 brilliantly they have targeted this
45:21 keywords. So you can take up some
45:24 inspiration from the competitors too.
45:26 Got it? And you can include them in your
45:28 keyword because see and until this
45:30 keywords are not not being targeted guys
45:32 on your website properly on your web
45:34 page. It would be bit difficult for
45:36 Google to understand your page. Okay. So
45:38 always ensure that you are doing a good
45:41 research. Keyword research is 50% of
45:43 your SEO guys. If your keyword research
45:46 is not done properly, trust me, your SEO
45:48 campaign is going to fail. Okay. You can
45:50 check on audience forums like Kora,
45:53 Reddit and any kind of niche forums also
45:55 to understand the questions or people
45:57 also ask for section that what kind of
45:59 uh uh questions people are asking and
46:01 try to include them and Google people
46:04 also ask for section and then pick up
46:06 your best keywords.
46:08 So building your keyword sheet. So as I
46:09 mentioned about seed keywords, keyword
46:11 expansion, the search intent is
46:13 necessary, the metrics like search
46:15 volume, competition and then you have to
46:17 organize the sheet. So which we already
46:19 saw practically here
46:22 and yeah so we have already seen how the
46:24 keyword sheet structure can be made. So
46:26 for example sustainable gardening and
46:28 then the search volume and then the
46:30 intent the competition and maybe some
46:32 ideas that what kind of content you can create.
46:34 create.
46:36 All right. So common keyword mistakes to
46:38 avoid. So don't do keyword stuffing
46:40 guys. Don't just stuff your page with
46:42 keywords. Just uh include the keyword
46:44 properly and never ignore the search
46:47 intent. If you're creating a service
46:48 page, product page, your intent should
46:51 be transactional. If you're creating a
46:53 blog page, your intent should be
46:54 informational. Right? So you have to
46:57 think about the intent and never only
46:59 target high volume keywords. Try mix
47:02 targeting. Okay? You can uh as I
47:04 mentioned 50% can be high volume
47:07 keywords, 20 25% can be medium volume
47:09 keywords and then low volume keywords
47:12 also. And uh one time research regularly
47:14 update your research to stay relevant.
47:17 So every 6 months or one year you have
47:19 to refresh the page. You have to do the
47:21 keyword refresh. So it's not like that
47:23 my keyword research is done and I'll
47:25 just forget this page. You have to come
47:28 back to that page after let's say 6
47:29 months or one year and you have to see
47:31 the keywords that you have targeted. Are
47:34 those keywords actually relevant after a
47:36 year or not? And is your website still
47:38 ranking on top of those keyword or not
47:40 because SEO is a continuous process
47:44 guys. SEO is not one-time process.
47:46 Okay. So key takeaways and next step
47:50 guys are your SEO compass. So they guide
47:51 your content strategy and connect you
47:54 with the audience needs and the intent
47:56 is the king here. So always align your
47:58 content with the user search intent
48:00 informational, commercial,
48:02 transactional, navigational or local
48:04 intent and you can use the mix of free
48:07 and paid tools to empower your research.
48:08 All right guys, so this would be the
48:11 last slide for today and the next
48:13 lecture we will be looking into the
48:17 onpage SEO optimization. Okay. So, uh
48:18 please make sure that you guys submit
48:21 the assignment. I will be providing a
48:23 hands-on practical assignment for you
48:25 guys to do it. So, once uh uh you go
48:28 through the entire lecture properly, you
48:30 you should be able to do the assignment
48:32 clearly. Okay. So the assignment is easy
48:33 wherein you have to do a keyword
48:35 research, identify some seed keywords
48:38 and then uh give some proper keywords
48:40 what all keywords you would be targeting
48:42 and then classify them into primary and
48:44 secondary which you will be getting uh
48:47 from in one sheet. Okay. So guys uh I
48:49 think that would be all for today's
48:51 lecture. Thank you so much for being
48:53 patient and listening to this and I hope
