Hello everyone. I hope all of you guys
are doing great. Welcome to today's
lecture about keyword research which is
also called as the foundation or you can
say the main step within SEO. I hope you
guys enjoyed watching the earlier
lecture which was our day one
introduction to SEO. Now we'll be
learning about what exactly are
keywords. In our previous lecture, we
had learned about what exactly are the
different types of keyword intent. And
in case if you guys don't remember it,
that's completely okay. What I'll do,
I'll just give you guys a very quick
recap about the same. So, uh let's check
what are the different types of keyword
intent. So if you guys remember the
first intent wasformational intent and
the second is navigational and then the
third one is commercial intent and
fourth one is transactional intent and
there's one more which is also called as
local SEO intent. So now information
intent is something wherein a user is
trying to find some information on
Google. It can be any kind of wh
questions or how questions or any sort
of information right. So for example,
let's say when somebody's searching for
what is data science. So you will see
this is a question. So here the user is
trying to find some information on
Google and Google will show results in
AI overview format in uh on the top and
then couple of people also ask for
questions and whatever results that you
see the organic results those are
usually the blogs and articles you see
what is data science the moment when you
open them so uh link by Corsera yeah so
when you're opening them so you you will
see that this is an article which is
giving you information. Okay. So you see
what is data science by looking at the
URL itself you guys would be able to you
know judge that what kind of page is
this right? So this is one and the other
one I from IBM.com you see what is data
science so this page is providing
information. So usually whenever
aformational intent keyword is targeted,
we usually target it on a blog or an
article or any kind of informative page.
I hope that is clear. Now let's jump in
to the other intent.
All right. So now one of the other
intent I can think of is a navigational
intent which is searching for a brand
term. Navigation intent is also called
as branded search. So when you are
searching for something like uh let's
say Facebook login right so here you are
typing a brand name and you will only
see the branded results coming up there.
So that is called as navigational intent
or let's say I want to search for uh um
this is again a navigational intent
because I'm typing the brand name which
is ICICI here got it so navigation
intent means wherein a brand term is
associated now let's jump into the other
um intent which is also called as
commercial intent. So now commercial
intent is nothing but it is kind of a uh
intent wherein a user is researching
more about a product service or maybe
they are into the middle of the funnel
within the customer acquisition funnel.
So they're just trying to research a bit
more about a product service or whatever
information they are trying to search
for. And guys you have to remember that
uh lot of keywords would have multiple
intent with them. So the moment when
you're searching for let's say um iPhone
15 Pro 256GB. So this keyword has got
branded uh intent as well which is
navigation intent since you're using the
brand term iPhone and this keyword has
also got a transactional intent. So
there is a possibility that one keyword
might have multiple intent. So now
coming back to the commercial intent. So
when you're searching for something like
let's say Android phones, you know
you're not clear about what exactly
you're planning to buy here. You just
know that you're buying uh you want to
buy something which is Android. So
you're searching for Android phones and
usually whenever for commercial intent
you will always see category pages
coming up on top. So you see Flipkart is
coming up here and then uh um lot of
other websites like PC Mag right. So
here you will find multiple products in
one page.
You see best Android phones for 2025.
This page is a blog page plus this page
is also a commercial page because you
can see multiple products coming in
here. Got it guys? So this is called as
commercial intent. Okay. So maybe
Android phones or laptops under 50,000
or uh maybe like uh uh genes of 36 uh
size or anything which is uh which has
got multiple results to show that is
called as commercial intent and
transactional intent as uh we saw in the
other lecture. So now when you're
searching for iPhone 16 Pro 256GB
right in black color right so here you
would be able to see most of the product
pages coming up on top so this pages are
not showing anything extra it is just
showing you a single product right so
this is a
transaction intent so my iPhone 16 pro
you see just one phone here and then
again this Right? So you see this is
called as a transaction intent wherein
the customer is is in the bottom of the
funnel and they are ready to make a
purchase. So whenever you are doing
keyword research and if you come across
any transactional intent keywords, you
should be mapping them to product pages
Okay. So now uh let's try searching for
a local SEO intent keyword. So whenever
you're searching for something like uh
pizza shops near me
right and here you will be able to see
the pizza shops located to your nearby
location. So this is called as local
SEO. So local SEO searches are something
wherein they will show you all the
nearby shops or the local uh results
which are associated to your query. So
this can be near me or maybe pizza shops
in Mumbai, pizza shops in Delhi or
coffee shops in Gazyabad. Right? So
these are all local SEO intent. I hope
the intent is clear guys. And now let's
All right guys, so as I mentioned,
keyword research is the first step
within SEO. So unless and until you
don't research a keyword properly, it
would be a bit difficult for you guys to
map your SEO strategy. So today we'll be
deep dive into the keyword research
which is uh kind of a pillar or corner
store of any effective SEO strategy
understanding what your audience is
searching because unless and until you
don't understand what the audience want
or what is the intent of that audience
so you won't be able to formulate your
SEO strategy properly right so we need
to rank higher right so for ranking
higher we need to understand the intent
of the customer properly Okay, so why
keywords? Keywords are the bridge
between your content and your audience
and they reveal what potential customers
are typing into the search engines. So
keywords usually give you the demand
uncover what people are actively
searching for and the target audience
who are exactly your target audience. So
let's say if my website deals with um
men's grooming products. So my target
audience would be you typically people
who are from the age group of 18 to
maybe 55 60 who are searching on
internet right so target audience
defining uh is very much important and
then informing the content guide your
content creation for the maximum impact
so whatever keywords that you're
shortlisting or you're choosing so you
need to create a very good content on
your website for those keywords then
only Google will show that page up on
top if Google finds that for a typical
keyword your website has got a relevant
content definitely they are going to
pick that up and they will show it on
top of Google.
So as uh we already understood what
exactly is search intent but yeah here's
a very quick recap. Information intent
users are looking for answers to
questions how-to guides or general
information they are in learning phase.
So learning phase is also called as
awareness stage which is top of the
funnel. The the users are located in top
of the funnel within customer
acquisition funnel. So the customer
acquisition funnel usually has got three
stages. The first one is top of the
funnel which is also called as tofu. T O
F U and then middle of the funnel which
is called as mofu and then bottom of the
funnel which is bofu. So information
intent is usually situated at the top of
the funnel. So couple of examples how to
tie a tie or best dog food for puppies
or what is SEO what is data science how
to make good biryani at home right? So
all of these areformational intent and
the content type is usually you have to
make a blog post, article, guides,
tutorials. These kind of pages are
usually targeted for information intent
keywords. Now going to the second intent
which is commercial intent. So users are
searching products or services before
making a purchase. As we mentioned,
commercial intent people are located in
the middle of the funnel. So they're
comparing options and looking for
reviews. So let's say best smartphones
in 2024, CRM software reviews or online
survey tools, uh best digital marketing
courses, right? So the kind of content
that you have to create for commercial
intent keywords is product comparison
guides, reviews, feature breakdown of
your services. These are the commercial
intent keyword and transactional intent.
Pretty simple. So users are ready to buy
or to take some action and the users are
located at the bottom of the funnel. So
they know what exactly they want and
they are looking where to get those
right buy iPhone 15 Pro, order pizza
online and the content is product pages,
service pages, e-commerce listing pages.
These kind of pages usually target the
transaction intent and the local intent
everybody's uh aware about any kind of
near me or uh location specific keyword
and the navigational intent is uh kind
of a brand uh intent. So wherever you
are searching for any kind of brands so
that is called as navigational intent.
So the purpose of navigational intent is
to uh go directly to a known website
which you already know and that's why
you're typing that brand name there. So
for example, Facebook login, Amazon,
Nike official website, ICICI, Net
Banking, these are a couple of examples.
And implication for SEO, it is less
about ranking for the keyword, more
about ensuring your brand name and key
pages are easily findable. So how
frequently do you think you will be
searching for a branded term? You will
only search when you already know a
brand, right? So once you search for a
brand, the Google's algorithm is uh good
enough to understand that okay, so
you're looking out for a product from
this brand and they will typically show
that brand up on top. So guys, see we
need to understand why are we doing SEO?
So we are doing SEO because we want to
rank a particular website on top of
Google. And how will a website come up
come up on top? because of doing a
wonderful SEO you can say um optimizing
the website as per the good practices
set by the search engines and when
you're matching the intent of the user
definitely your website is going to rank
up on top and guys we will not do SEO
for the keywords for which we are
already ranking on top ultimate goal of
doing SEO is to get a keyword on top of
search engine not only in Google on
every other search engine but if your
keyword is already ranking on top then
there's no point of doing SEO on those
keywords because we have already
achieved the ultimate objective of doing
SEO. So for navigational intent
usually you will see that uh Google is
showing the websites up on top. So if I
take an example let's say uh check this
online survey tool. So when I'm
searching for this keyword I can see
sponsored result which is PPC. will
ignore sponsored and from here uh it's
all about
the organic results. So now let's say
that I want to rank for this keyword for
uh uh this website which is uh let me
check soalytics. Okay, so website so now
this website is situated in the second
page of Google. So now let's say so now
online survey tool is a commercial
keyword but yeah now let's say when
somebody's searching for soalytics
online survey tool or maybe online
survey tool by soyics when they hit
enter you will see soyics coming up on
top so here my goal is already achieved
so because this keyword is a
navigational intent the moment when I
type the brand name Google algorithm
understands that I am looking for this
brand and they will show this brand up
on top. So this is called as
navigational intent and we will not do
SEO for typically for keywords which are
branded searches or which are
navigational intent because the ultimate
goal is already achieved here. I hope
this makes sense guys.
Okay. So now let's move to the next slide.
All right. So now what we will try to do
is we'll try to understand different
type of keyword research tools. As I
mentioned in the earlier lecture guys,
this would be a theory plus practical
lecture wherein you should be able to
use some tools. So while you're watching
this video, I want you guys to try the
tools also. Okay. So there are couple of
tools which are used for doing SEO
keyword research. One of the best free
tools available is Google keyword
planner. So this is provided by Google
ads and it helps to find new keywords
and see the estimated search volume. So
what exactly are the different uh
metrics that we will be looking? So
while we look into the tool we will
explore them in detail and then Uber
suggest is also a very good tool but
yeah it is it is kind of a paid plan but
yeah for uh free you will just see some
couple of limited searches. Answer the
public is also very good and Google
search console is a tool which is uh
only provided when you have a or when
you own a website. Okay. So we'll just
try to understand this. So yeah but
before jumping in into the keyword
research I would like to give you guys a
quick brief about what are short head
keywords and longtail keywords. So any
keyword which has got less than three
words. So now if I say online survey
tool here. So this is just three words
right three or maybe max to max four
words. So any keyword which is very
short or you can say online survey these
are called as short head keyword and any
keyword which is which is specific and
there are so many words into it they're
called as longtail keyword. So for
example iPhone 16 pro 256 GB in black
color right so this keyword is called as
longtail keyword. This keyword is also
transaction intent but the other name of
this keyword is longtail keyword. Okay.
And uh iPhone 16 Pro this is short tail
keyword. Okay. So and these are just
some jarens or you can say terminologies
that you need to understand. All right.
So now let's move to uh the best tool
which is uh um Google keyword planner
which we will be using for doing free
keyword research. But yeah before doing
keyword research guys u I want you guys
to understand a concept of seed keywords
seed keywords. So now what exactly is
seed keywords. So whenever you are doing
keyword research first you need to
identify couple of seed keywords. Seed
keywords you can just imagine a seed
which is getting you know grown from
ground. So when a seed is grown right so
it grows into a small plant and then
into a tree and then into so many
branches. Correct? So in the same way
every before creating any pages on the
website or for your own website right
you need to understand and identify
which are the seed keywords for your
website. So seed keywords are nothing
but the foundation or you can say the uh
kind of yeah foundational keywords or
the main keywords which is helping you
to generate more keywords. So for
example, let's say I uh think of this.
Okay. So I'll just take an example of
online survey tool. So when I search for
online survey tool, so what are the
other searches that people can do? Okay.
So now let's say I am trying to optimize
this website.
So guys see keyword research can be done
in two phases. One when you already have
a website and two when you don't have a
website. When you already have a
website. So what you will do? you will
try to enhance your web page properly.
You'll have to see that okay so if all
the keywords are properly targeted on
this page or not does my page contains
all the necessary information or not and
uh the next step uh let's say if you
don't have a page when you don't have a
page and you're planning to create a new
page so what you will do you will go on
Google or maybe you will search for your
competitors you will try to see that
okay so what exactly my competitors are
trying to create pages for so you will
analyze your competitor you will try to
study their current content structure.
You will see that what kind of keywords
they are targeting and by taking
references, inspiration from your
competitors, you will just try to create
your page. Now you will do your keyword
research and you will just try to create
something better than your competitors.
Then only you would be able to rank up
on Google not only in Google on any
other search engines that you're looking
out for. So now let's say that we will
try to explore both the examples. So now
if I see this free online survey tool
here. So now you see what are the seat
keywords. So usually seed keywords are
located in the URL and when you further
deep dive into the content of that page
you would be able to see them. So for
example when I go to this website so
what kind of keywords people usually
search on Google. So you see create
surveys fast this is something which
people might search on Google and free
online survey tool. This is something
which people might search. Online survey
tool is something which people might
search and uh best online survey tool
which people might search on Google.
Right? So free online survey tool and
then u online survey platform. You see
these are all seed keywords that we are
trying to take up from this page. Okay.
So uh around 3 to five seat keywords are
more than enough guys to begin your
keyword research. So now let's say we
have taken those three five seat
keywords. So the next step is that we
will go for uh keyword research tool
which is um Google keyword planner. So
what you will do you will simply go to
this URL or you can search for uh
keyword planner on Google. So I have already
already
bookmarked this website. So when you
search for keyword planner you will see
the first result coming up here. Get
campaign keyword suggestions with
keyword planner. So when you click on
that you just need to sign in here with
after signing up so you will be uh asked
to enter some more basic information. So
after entering them so you would be able
to come to this section. Okay. So now
when you get to the section so what you
and uh within this tool you will see
keyword planner option. So you just just
need to click on this keyword planner
and there are two sections here discover
new keywords and get search volume and
forecast. So what we will do we'll be
discovering new keywords. So the moment
when you click on discover new keywords.
You see now I can select my targeted
location. Let's say I'm doing this
keyword research for United States. So
I'll change the location here. United
States include. I don't want to do it
for India. So I'm excluding because my
business I'm taking an example of
soalytics which is a business based in
US. So the targeted country is US right?
So I've removed India from here and I
can save guys. So if you're doing
keyword research for your local cities
or maybe your states right so you can
select those uh locations here. So now
let's say that if I'm doing it for
Mumbai so I can select Mumbai city also
and I can include and I can see that
what exactly people are searching within
Mumbai. Right. Right. So this is very uh
interesting guys. So please try doing a
keyword research for your nearby
locations and see what kind of search
volumes you're getting for the local
keywords that when people are searching.
But for now for example purpose we are
taking United States as a country here.
All right. So what were the seed
keywords? So whatever seed keywords we
are identifying we need to put those
keywords here in this section. So we
identified this online survey tool. So
I'm just putting that seed keyword here
platform and best survey tool or uh
you have to think in same direction guys
right so in case if you're falling short
of ideas for your seat keywords what you
can do you can take help from Google so
the moment when you search for online
survey you'll see that so many
suggestions are provided you see online
survey online survey form online survey
maker. Right? So you can pick up this
seat keywords or else you can also
scroll down and you can come to this
section which says as people also search
for online survey tool or you can see uh
yeah so let me just search for online
survey and let's see what kind of other
Okay. So now you see uh online survey
for students free online survey online
survey for money online survey app
online survey questions there are so
many ideas available here right so
coming back here online survey maker was
good survey maker right so as I
mentioned three to five seed keywords
are more than enough to begin your
keyword research journey and you can
also enter your site to filter unrelated
keywords so in case if you want to stick
to a particular uh site you can
definitely pick that up so For example,
let's say as we are taking an example of uh
uh
um this website soyitics, right? So I
can just enter this website here. So
this will just stick to this website
category. It is not compulsory guys. But
yeah, in case if you want to enter a
site to filter unrelated keywords, you
can enter it. And now all you need to do
is just click on get results.
So remember we just uh had put four
keywords as seed keywords and maximum 10
seed keywords you can put at one time.
So this keyword planner will show you
the data from for the last one year. So
in last one year how the search trend
has been happening here. So if you look
here keywords you provided so you can
see the average monthly search volume.
So how many people on an average from
the location from United States are
searching for that keyword right? So
1,000 to 10,000 people are searching for
this keyword on an average in United
States and what is the 31 change
competition level. So all of this
information you can see online survey
platform 1,000 to 10,000 people best
survey tool online survey maker survey
platform you see keyword ideas. Now
Google is providing you keyword ideas.
So apart from this keywords, what are
the other keyword ideas that you can
pick? Right? So you see there are so
many keyword ideas available. So all I
did was I just entered four seed
keywords and I got 498 keyword ideas
available. So I can further refine this
keywords also. I don't want to target
other brand keywords because you you
will not use other brand names on your
website. Right? So what I can do I can
remove other brands.
So here uh let's say I want to remove Google.
Google.
I can remove the other uh years. Nobody
is searching for 2022 right now. So I
can just refine my keywords. So now from
498 I've got left with 486 keywords. So
what I'll do I'll quickly download this.
So I can download this into CSV file or
Right now, my file is downloaded. So,
All right. So, uh here's the file, guys.
So, what I'll do, I'll just remove the
unwanted filters here or maybe unwanted
columns and rows. So, I don't want this.
I don't want this. So, I'm just deleting
them. I don't need the currency right
now. And average monthly search. You
guys can see the numbers in 5,500
because we are using a free keyword
planner tool. The moment when you will
load some funds into your Google Ads
account or the Google keyword planner,
you would be able to see some precise
numbers there like uh 5,50 or maybe 520,
210, these kind of numbers there. Okay.
So yeah, I don't need all of this extra
information top of the page uh uh low
range and high range. So I'm just
deleting them. All I care about is the
keyword and their average monthly search
volume and their competition and
competition index value. Guys, see
whenever you're doing SEO, the best
keyword research tool I would say are
the paid tools like Uber suggest, SEM
Rush, Ahrif. But yeah, when you are
trying to learn things for free, you can
always begin with Google keyword planner
because Google keyword planner is a free
basic tool which is used without paying
any amount. You can use it but it is not
the perfect tool for doing the keyword
research. But yeah, just for learning
purpose to understand things. This tool
is actually very good. So what I'll do,
I'll show you guys uh how to do keyword
research using a Google keyword planner
which we are already exploring and I'll
also walk you guys through a paid tool.
Okay. So now you see here are so many
keywords here. So I'll also show you
guys a strategy how to shortlist the
best keywords. So 3 months change not
needed year-over-year change. I mean
this is just extra information in case
if you want you can keep it or else you
can delete it. and the competition that
you see here. So this competition is not
SEO competition the data which is
provided by Google keyword planner. So
this is not SEO competition. And the
competitive index value I mean out of
100 people how many people are actually
bidding for this keyword. When I say the
word bidding it means they're paying
Google to get on top on Google ads not
on SEO. Okay. So competition index value
and competition that you see is paid
competition. paid ads competition on
Google and this is not the SEO
competition but still for learning
purpose let's consider this as a SEO
competition. Okay. So right now I can
see so many keywords here. So the
initially the strategy should be always
try to find keywords which are which has
got good search volume and low
competition. Whenever you're downloading
any sheet of keyword research, always
try to see the keywords which has got
good search volume, good average monthly
search volume and low competition. So
this keywords are the gold mines which
will help you get very good traffic and
good conversions and good rankings
quickly. Okay, SEO usually takes time
guys. Minimum 3 months to 6 months to
see some results whatever strategies you
guys are implementing. But yeah, so
these are couple of good strategies that
you can use. So now let's say uh let me
just try to add a filter. So I've added
a filter here and now I'll just sort
this out from largest to smallest. Let's
try to identify. So when I speak about
online survey tool, see I'm getting
keyword which says customer feedback
surveys. So if you feel customer
feedback surveys is related to online
survey tool, you can pick that keyword
or else you can just skip it or you can
just try to create another page for
customer feedback surveys. So online
survey tool is a very good keyword. So
what I'll do, I'll just mark it this in
green. Online survey platform good
keyword marking it in green right. So
what I'll do um average monthly search
volume. So we have already sorted this.
Now I'll try to identify good search
volume keywords with low competition. So
I've uh added a filter right. So um on
an average you can pick around five to
10 keywords for one page depending on
the business goal. You can also pick two
to three keywords but yeah picking up
five to anything between five to 10
keywords which you can target on one
page. So you should be following up that
strategy online questioner tool. Okay.
So whenever you're shortlisting keywords
guys, let's say you're short planning to
short list six to eight keywords, what I
will suggest always try to use a
strategy which is mix strategy. So if
I'm shortlisting 8 to 10 keywords, what
I'll do? I'll take 50% of my keywords
from low competition, 25% I'll take from
medium competition and 25% I can take
from high competition. This strategy is
wonderful guys because this will
definitely work and you will see that
whatever keywords have got low
competition, you will start ranking for
those keywords quickly on Google when
you target those keywords properly on
your website and create a very good page
content with the intent of those
keywords. So uh what I'll do let's say
that I'm shortlisting around 10
keywords. So I'll just try to see some
good keywords here. So yeah, I'm just uh
marking them up in green color. Online
service software is also a good keyword.
So let's say I've shortlisted all of
this keywords here. And now my next step
would be I'll try to get medium search volume.
volume.
Okay, online survey maker is a good
keyword for that page. You have to keep
the page intent. Okay, so what kind of
page you're creating? Online questioner
maker is also a good keyword. Online
survey creator is a good keyword, right?
So yeah, you see how I'm getting a lot
of keyword ideas. And now I'll go to
high competition.
All right. So when I'm putting high
competition, free survey maker, you have
to ensure if your website is actually
giving a free survey maker. But since I
know soil, so they offer a free survey
maker. So that's why I'm shortlisting
this. I if your website is not giving
anything for free guys don't target free
keywords okay because you are just uh
trying to fool the customers by
targeting this keywords so uh please
ensure that whatever uh uh is your
website service so you need to be very
much aware about the same okay free
survey generator is also good keyword so
I think this many keywords would be fine
for now to go ahead with all right so my
short listing is done so uh what I'll do
I'll just filter by color. So I
filtered. So these are my final
keywords. So I can copy them. I can keep
it in some other sheet. So these are my
final keywords which I will be targeting
on that online survey tool page which
was this page. Right. So online survey
tool page. Uh okay hold on. So the page
is here. Yeah online survey tool. Right.
So if I'm uh doing keyword research for
this page, I will be targeting these set
of keywords here. Got it guys? You see
this is very interesting and very easy.
So this is how you will do a keyword
research using Google keyword planner.
And there are so many other tools
available like Uber suggest. So you can
just see Uber suggest keyword research.
You can simply search for that tool on Google.
And here you just need to enter a domain
or just one keyword, right? So you can
sign in with your Gmail account and
let's say I'm just entering this online
survey tool and the location is US which
is proper
Okay. So now do you see this SEO
difficulty? So SEO difficulty is
something which you have to keep in mind
because how difficult this keyword is to
rank on top of Google. So if you're
planning to target this uh uh keyword
and for your website so how difficult it
is for you to get on top of Google. So
it says 73 which is kind of uh you know
a bit difficult. Now you see the search
volume and remember guys no two tools
will show you the same data. So the
search volume that you see on Uber
suggest is different. The search volume
that you see in Google keyword planner
would be different and the search volume
that you will see with other paid tools
like SEMrush, Ahrif or Pro Rank Tracker,
it would be different. All right. So
what I trust is so when it comes to
search volume I usually trust the data
that we get from Google keyword planner
and for competition and other SEO
metrics what I do I trust the data that
we get from other paid keyword research
tools. Okay. So now I've searched for
online survey tool. You see I have got
the keyword overview. What is the search
volume and how many people are searching
for this keyword in US, Canada and all
the locations. I can see paid search
difficulty and SEO difficulty also here
and search volume and what are the other
keyword ideas you see online survey
software free survey creator best online
survey tool. I can see those
suggestions. What are the questions
people are asking for those uh keywords?
what are the proposition, comparison and
everything and what kind of content that
you can create. All right, so all of
this information with some paid tools
like Uber suggest and let me just show
you another paid tool which is SEM Rush.
One of my personal favorite tool so I've
got a paid subscription for this. Uh
this is quite an expensive tool but yeah
uh you can uh definitely use it for free
with some limited searches, right? So
when you go on SEM Rush, so what you can
do, you can just uh go to the section
which says keyword magic tool. All you
need to do is just enter your keyword
and the location. Now let's say my
keyword is online survey tool. My
location is US. I can just simply click
right. So now here you can see so see so
many keywords that you have got and the
best part of SEM brush is it will also
tell you the intent of that keyword.
What is the intent? So this keyword when
somebody's searching for online survey
tools the intent is informational and
commercial the search volume and the
keyword difficulty. You see the moment
when you hover to this section they will
tell you that how difficult this keyword
is to rank for 70 which is quite hard.
You'll need lot of high quality
referring domains and optimized content
in order to rank for this keyword. And
now as I told you the initial step
should be always try to find the
keywords which are easy to rank and has
got a decent search volume. So you can
use some filters here. So you see KD
percentage. KD means keyword difficulty.
Okay. So it shows how hard it would be
for your website to rank organically in
Google top 10 for a listed keyword.
Higher the percentage, the harder it
will be to achieve the high rankings. So
what you can do, you can go to this KD
percentage and just try to find some
quick keywords which are easy to rank.
So you can put a filter here like custom
range from 0% to uh anything which is 49
0 to 49 are easy keywords to rank for.
Just try to find some keywords like
this. So right now I can just see one
keyword which is best online survey tool
which has got a commercial intent and
the keyword difficult is possible. So
all you need is just a well structured
and unique content. Okay. So uh let's
try some other keyword. So now let's say
I'm searching for digital marketing course.
Okay. So the filter is already applied
here. Do you see other keywords like
online digital marketing course? You see
the volume is good. Keyword difficulty
is possible and there would be so many
keywords like complete digital marketing
course for beginners. Reliable soft. You
see the moment this uh uh brand name is
appearing here they are telling that
this is the intent of this keyword is
navigation intent and transaction as I
mentioned one keyword can have multiple
intents digital marketing course in
Udaur digital marketing mastery course
you see road map to riches digital
marketing course these kind of keywords
are very easy to rank so if you are
choosing this keyword for your page
definitely you will start ranking very
quickly up on Google okay digital
marketing code syllabus. You see 140
people are searching. But yeah, this
intent is informational here. So this is
how you can use some paid tools and you
can just try to shortlist your best
keywords there. I hope this information
was uh useful guys. So this is how you
will do keyword research and then once
your keyword research is done, you will
just put the final keyword somewhere
save it in some Excel sheets something
like this and then you can move ahead
with your next step. Okay. So yeah, now
let's move ahead with these slides.
Answer the public is also a very good
tool guys. Uh so let's just check answer
the public.
So you can simply open this website and
just put your seed keyword. Any one seed
Well, this is taking a bit longer than
Okay, cool. So, enter a topic. My topic
is online survey tool, right? So let's
say the language is English and let's
try this for United States and when you
click on search you see you will get so
many results here. So what kind of
question people are searching. So you
know guys why are we doing this research
we are just trying to understand what
people are searching on search engines
and just trying to get those keywords
get those questions and create a content
create a web page using those keywords.
Okay. So online survey tool you see so
here why is online survey tool used in
business what is the popular online
survey tool. So these are the sections
which people are searching on Google. So
past section as I mentioned in the
earlier lecture is people also ask for
section. So what is the uh uh number one
online survey tool? Is there catch to
online surveys? What is the meaning of
online survey tool? Right? So there are
so many things that people are
searching. What are the disadvantages of
using an online survey? what is the most
popular survey tool? So all you need to
do is whenever you're creating a page
you have to integrate the same questions
on your website and create a good
content and whatever keywords that
you're shortlisting finalizing you have
to keep the same uh keywords on your
page right so after let's say all of
your research is done and you are left
with some keywords like this so out of
all of this keyword now we have to
classify okay so the classification so
which keywords uh out of all of this
keyword so which is the keyword that uh
you will take up as primary keyword. So
whatsoever keywords you guys are
shortlisting guys. So out of them one
should be your primary keyword and rest
all can be the secondary keyword right.
So the primary keyword usually should be
the one which is uh you know explaining
the entire page properly and by looking
into that keyword the user should be
able to know that okay so this page is
speaking about so and so keyword right.
So uh always try to choose the keyword
which has got the best intent and uh the
uh best relevancy and good search volume
competition. Okay. So uh always remember
four things whenever you're shortlisting
your primary keyword keep in mind four
things. The first thing is relevancy.
How relevant that keyword is with your
uh with your page the page that you're
creating. The second thing is how good
is the intent. Is the intent matching
with the page. If you're creating blog
page, you should be uh taking up
keywords which areformational intent. If
you're creating a commercial page, take
up commercial intent keywords, right?
So, first is relevancy, second is
intent, third, you can look into the
search volume and fourth, you can look
into the SEO difficulty or the how
difficult that keyword is to rank. So,
you have to keep this four parameters in
mind. So, now looking at this keywords,
I would say that online survey tool or
online survey platform is actually the
best keyword. So now let's say I'm
taking online survey platform as my
primary keyword because the search
volume is decent, competition is low,
competitive index value is just two
which means my chance of ranking on this
keyword would be higher. So I'll keep
this keyword as my primary keyword. I
can keep all rest as my secondary keywords.
Right? So this is my final keyword
research which is done. And if in case
if you feel there are some more keywords
I need to add or couple of irrelevant
keywords that I need to separate, I can
do that filteration also. But yeah,
whenever you're doing keyword research
guys, please stick to stick to one
pillar or one topic. Okay? So when I'm
researching about online survey
platform, I cannot take customer
feedback platform as my keyword because
the intent is different. Here the
customer is looking for some other
information. I cannot take employee
survey tool as one of the keyword. Okay?
because I can create a separate page for
that. So you have to think in one
direction. So this is how my keyword
research would be done. All right. So
now we have seen a practical stuff here.
All right. So you can also do
competitive analysis. You can see you
can visit the competitors and you can
see that what kind of keywords are they
targeting on their page. So how you will
do a competitive research. So when I
speak about online survey tool, right?
So just search for that keyword on
Google and see which competitors are
ranking up on top. So now survey monkey
is ranking, survey planet is ranking and
mentometer is ranking. So when you open
this website just see that what kind of
keywords they have included within their
website. So you see AI powered surveys.
So this is what you are taking an
inspiration for. And then uh most
popular survey platform you see popular
survey platform is one. So these are
some uh keywords expert surveys right.
So just check them on Google s Google
keyword planner and see that if those
keywords have got any search volume.
Never target those the keywords which
people are searching but there's no
search volume. There should be some
search volume of those keywords. Okay.
uh create fast surveys or uh yeah you
can just uh go through the page and you
can try finding a lot of other ideas and
the other uh competitor survey planet
powerful online survey tool simple
online survey tool you see free online
surveys create online surveys so these
are some keywords which they are
targeting and now when I go on menntimeter
menntimeter
interactive survey maker right free
survey maker create surveys for free So
uh easy to use survey tool. You see how
brilliantly they have targeted this
keywords. So you can take up some
inspiration from the competitors too.
Got it? And you can include them in your
keyword because see and until this
keywords are not not being targeted guys
on your website properly on your web
page. It would be bit difficult for
Google to understand your page. Okay. So
always ensure that you are doing a good
research. Keyword research is 50% of
your SEO guys. If your keyword research
is not done properly, trust me, your SEO
campaign is going to fail. Okay. You can
check on audience forums like Kora,
Reddit and any kind of niche forums also
to understand the questions or people
also ask for section that what kind of
uh uh questions people are asking and
try to include them and Google people
also ask for section and then pick up
your best keywords.
So building your keyword sheet. So as I
mentioned about seed keywords, keyword
expansion, the search intent is
necessary, the metrics like search
volume, competition and then you have to
organize the sheet. So which we already
saw practically here
and yeah so we have already seen how the
keyword sheet structure can be made. So
for example sustainable gardening and
then the search volume and then the
intent the competition and maybe some
ideas that what kind of content you can create.
create.
All right. So common keyword mistakes to
avoid. So don't do keyword stuffing
guys. Don't just stuff your page with
keywords. Just uh include the keyword
properly and never ignore the search
intent. If you're creating a service
page, product page, your intent should
be transactional. If you're creating a
blog page, your intent should be
informational. Right? So you have to
think about the intent and never only
target high volume keywords. Try mix
targeting. Okay? You can uh as I
mentioned 50% can be high volume
keywords, 20 25% can be medium volume
keywords and then low volume keywords
also. And uh one time research regularly
update your research to stay relevant.
So every 6 months or one year you have
to refresh the page. You have to do the
keyword refresh. So it's not like that
my keyword research is done and I'll
just forget this page. You have to come
back to that page after let's say 6
months or one year and you have to see
the keywords that you have targeted. Are
those keywords actually relevant after a
year or not? And is your website still
ranking on top of those keyword or not
because SEO is a continuous process
guys. SEO is not one-time process.
Okay. So key takeaways and next step
guys are your SEO compass. So they guide
your content strategy and connect you
with the audience needs and the intent
is the king here. So always align your
content with the user search intent
informational, commercial,
transactional, navigational or local
intent and you can use the mix of free
and paid tools to empower your research.
All right guys, so this would be the
last slide for today and the next
lecture we will be looking into the
onpage SEO optimization. Okay. So, uh
please make sure that you guys submit
the assignment. I will be providing a
hands-on practical assignment for you
guys to do it. So, once uh uh you go
through the entire lecture properly, you
you should be able to do the assignment
clearly. Okay. So the assignment is easy
wherein you have to do a keyword
research, identify some seed keywords
and then uh give some proper keywords
what all keywords you would be targeting
and then classify them into primary and
secondary which you will be getting uh
from in one sheet. Okay. So guys uh I
think that would be all for today's
lecture. Thank you so much for being
patient and listening to this and I hope
you got to know that how to do keyword
research within SEO and what are the
different type of intent that you should
be targeting upon. So thank you so much
