0:08 maybe specifically the four gospels and
0:11 they'd be right but did you know jesus
0:13 made a much bigger claim on the road to
0:16 emmaus in luke 24 jesus told two of his
0:18 disciples that every story in the bible
0:21 speaks about him and beginning with the
0:23 writings of moses and all the prophets
0:25 jesus explained exactly how he said that
0:28 if you look closely every story in the
0:30 bible points to the suffering and the
0:33 glory of christ to be clear by suffering
0:34 jesus meant something that pointed to
0:36 his death on the cross
0:38 and by glory he meant something that
0:40 pointed to his resurrection on the third
0:42 day when we read the bible through this
0:45 gospel lens as jesus instructed us to
0:47 the light of the savior shines through
0:49 every bible story embedded like a
0:52 watermark of promise and we discover
0:54 that jesus's suffering and glory is the
0:57 common thread uniting all of scripture
0:59 let's apply this gospel vision to the
1:02 familiar story of adam and how god
1:04 created his bride
1:06 in the beginning like jesus adam was
1:08 innocent and full of life
1:11 but god put adam into a deep sleep
1:14 resembling death
1:16 then god pierced adam in the side and
1:18 took out a rib that he used to create a bride
1:23 finally god awakened adam in the garden
1:26 to receive the glorious gift of his bride
1:27 bride
1:30 now did you hear another story in that
1:32 the apostle paul says that jesus was a
1:34 new adam
1:37 like adam jesus was innocent and full of life
1:38 life
1:40 but god brought the sleep of death upon
1:42 him on the cross
1:44 then god allowed the roman spear to
1:47 pierce jesus aside and just like adam
1:50 god took what flowed from jesus's side
1:52 the water and the blood to create his
1:54 bride god took the blood for her
1:57 purchase and the water to make her pure finally
1:58 finally
2:01 god awakened jesus from death to one day
2:03 receive us as his bride in a glorious
2:04 new garden
2:06 and that's only the beginning
2:08 from genesis through the end of
2:10 revelation the bible proclaims the
2:12 gospel of jesus suffering and
2:15 resurrection glory and so we find that
2:17 every story in the bible is really just
2:19 telling one story the gospel story of
