This content argues that the common interpretation of Matthew 18:21-35, which suggests losing salvation for failing to forgive others, is a misapplication due to a misunderstanding of the distinction between the "Kingdom of God" and the "Kingdom of Heaven" in biblical scripture.

video okay we're back at the computer
here I uh played for you because I can't
get anybody to come hear me play I don't
play that well so I tricked you into
thinking I was just going to answer a
Bible question I got to perform okay I
do that every morning evening and before
every meal I just really enjoy I've been
playing that about 6 months and so it's
it's lots of fun anybody can do it it's
not a sophisticated instrument so you
might want to get one of those called a
mountain douer if you like music and
can't play a real instrument uh okay
let's get into our subject how to lose
your forgiveness in the Kingdom of
Heaven now this is something that
troubles a lot of people it troubled me
when I was young and hadn't what wasn't
much of a Bible student like 17 18 years
old and uh I hear preachers preach
around it I thought man that's just not
what the Bible says and they would try
to make it sound like a a Christian
Bible Doctrine he speaks of delivering
him to the tormentors till he should pay
all that was due him so likewise shall
my heavenly father do also unto you if
from your hearts you forgive not every
one his brother their
trespasses now according to that if you
don't forgive other people God will not forgive
forgive
you now on face value you say well that
encourages us to forgive everybody yes
it does but have you forgiven
everyone throughout your life is there
forgiven according to this passage if
this is written to the church you'll
lose your salvation and be damned if you
haven't forgiven them now I'm so glad
this applies to the kingdom of heaven
not to the kingdom of God I'm not in the
Kingdom of Heaven you're not in the
Kingdom of Heaven
no one is in the Kingdom of Heaven as
ruled by heaven right now I am in the
kingdom of God so let's look at the
difference can a servant of the Kingdom
lose his forgiveness for failing to
forgive another this has been argued by
the church because they don't know the
difference between the kingdom of God
and the kingdom of heaven now the 12
Kingdom of Heaven parables in the Book
of Matthew every single one of them the
man man or the king the man doing the
initiating the actor the one at the top
is always God without exception and the
servants are always Israel the bride is
always the Church of Christ so let's
look at this Parable Jesus said
therefore is the kingdom of heaven like
unto a certain king that's God which
would take account that's a judgment of
his servants and that's Israel if you
depart there and think that's the church
then you're surely going to go astray on
this and when he'd begun to reckon one
was brought unto him which owed him
10,000 talents now that's money nothing
else but money that's like it's a weight
of gold a whole lot of weight of gold
but for as much as he had not to pay his
Lord commanded him to be
sold and his wife and children and all
that he had and payment to be made
now this is in a this is an illustration
Jesus is pulling out of current
circumstances in the social political
and judicial order of that day people
were familiar with this if you borrowed
money and didn't pay it
back you could be taken to court found
guilty cast into prison until the money
was paid there's similar laws to that in
the United States today if a if a man
doesn't pay his child support he's put
in prison most of the people I think in
prison are there for debtor prison for
not paying their child
support the servant therefore fell down
worshiped him saying Lord have patience
with me and I'll pay thee all then the
Lord of that servant was moved with
compassion and loosed him and forgave
him the debt so he he's not going to go
to get DT's prison but the same servant
went out and found one of his fellow
servants which owed him a 100
Pence and he laid hands on him and took
him by the throat saying pay me that
thou owest and his fellow servant fell
down at his feet besought him saying
have patience with me and I will pay
thee all and he would not but he went
and cast him into prison till he should
pay the debt so here's a man that owed a
lot of money more than he'd ever be able
to pay and that's during that day and
age and the master came and said now pay
me what you owe me and he said well I
don't have it to pay and he said well
okay I'll forgive you forgive you all of
it it's done slate WIP clean and then
the man went out to a man that owed him
20 bucks and said pay me what you owe me
he said no can't don't have it I'm broke
no food on the table nothing to feed the
wife and kids he said okay you're going
to the debtor's prison and he cast him
into prison so the torment ERS would
torment him until he paid what he was
owed a subject they were familiar with
now the question is in this Parable what
do all these things represent we know
that there's there's not going to be a
time when uh maybe not it could be in a
millennium when there's going to be a
Deb in prison and wife and children are
tormented because a man doesn't pay his
debts but this does have a message
either for the church or the kingdom of
heaven so let's see what it is so when
his fellow servants saw what was done
they were very sorry and came and told
unto their lord all that was done then
his Lord now this Lord would be like a
king with absolute Authority uh maybe
over a smaller District not over a
country but he would be a ruler and his
Lord after he had called him said unto
him oh thy Wicked servant I forgave thee
all the debt because thou desirest me
should us not thou also have had
compassion on thy fellow servant even
even as I had pity on thee and his Lord
was wroth and delivered him to the
tormenters till he should pay all that
was due unto him so likewise so here's
where he draws a spiritual application
from this carnal
illustration of events that were current
in their day and age so likewise shall
my heavenly father do also unto you if
you from your hearts forgive not
everyone his brother their trespasses
now what will the heavenly father do the
heavenly father forgives your
sins and then finds out that you won't
forgive others so the heavenly father
comes back and takes that forgiveness
away and cast you to the tormentors
which we know would is a representation
of Hell till you paid the uttermost
Farthing it's still kind of
strange so deliver him to the Tormentor
till he should pay what was due unto him
now you can get Purgatory out of that or
all kinds of things is it possible if
we're going to take this as applying to
the kingdom of God to the church is it possible
possible
that Christians who don't forgive others
will be cast into hell and stay there
until they've paid for their sin of not
forgiving the others and then they're
released if you take this as kingdom of
God Parable you got some real problems
and I can understand why some people
just put the Bible down and say I don't
understand it doesn't make any sense it
doesn't make any sense because in the
last 50 to 75 years the church has lost
contact with the difference between the
kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven
they've started allegorizing it it
really began with the with Augustine way
back in the fifth century and then it
was filtered down through the Catholics
and the Puritans
and came down to us in modern times with
the so-called exegetical preaching that
allegorizes or spiritualizes the text
since God forgave you if you don't
forgive others he will take his
forgiveness away that subject has been
argued and debated and taught and
created confusion for nearly 2,000 years
but see Christ died for the
ungodly this is the Salvation that is
that I've got this my Sal is not based
on forgiving others Christ died for the
ungodly and it's through faith in his
blood that my sins have been washed away
once and for all forever and the blood
of Jesus Christ his son cleanses us from
all sin you see I deserve the torment
the debtor's prison the hell not just
for not forgiving people but I deserve
it for all manner of sin that I've
committed throughout my life and if I
were just judged and stood before God
right now and had to give an account for
the way I've lived my life the the whole
trial would last about 5 seconds and I'd
be cast into hell because I've done
nothing I am nothing I have nothing to
give God that would give me any place in
heaven so what happened Jesus came and
died in my place paid for all of my sin
and through that blood that was shed it
became a substitute for my blood being
shed he took my place in prison Isaiah
53 who was delivered for our offenes and
was raised again for our
justification so the righteousness of
God is now placed on me so when God sees
me he doesn't see my sin any longer he
sees the righteousness of Christ and as
to it being taken away if I don't
perform properly he said I'll be
merciful to their unrighteousness and
their sins and iniquities will I
remember no more and so nothing I can do
will cause God to remember those sins
that he's forever put away I give unto
them eternal life and they shall never
perish neither shall any man pluck them
out of my hand my Father which gave them
me is greater than all and no man is
able to pluck them out of my father's
hand so there's a contrast here between
the Kingdom of Heaven which will be
instituted during the millennial reign
of Christ at which time people were not
the people in the on the Earth at that
time will not be born again they'll not
be saved as you and are they'll not be
part of the body of Christ they'll be
like the uh saints were in the Old
Testament for a thousand years they can
be in God's favor through their
obedience and Faith or they can be cast
out of God's favor and damned if they
fail to continue in in faith and failed
to obedience so you might call it
salvation by works it's not really it's
still salvation by grace but that Grace
is bestowed upon those who believe and
remain faithful to God during that
thousand years and at the end of the
Thousand Years there'll be lots of
unregenerate people on the Earth uh
Revelation 20 through 22 that will be
cast out but those of us who are born
again will be in glorified bodies during
that Millennial reign of Christ
and though we'll be there during the
kingdom of heaven we will not be under
it we will be in the kingdom of God the
kingdom of Christ and at the end of the
Millennium it'll become the kingdom of
our Lord and his Christ the kingdom of
God forever the kingdom of the father so
uh this book that I wrote some time ago
and spent 30 years I don't know 40 years
spent my whole life really uh preparing
it goes into great detail and I go into
every Parable every use of the word
Kingdom and show clearly uh an
interpretation a Biblical interpretation
of all of those passages can you see
that right there uh it's it's easy to
understand but you have to apply
yourself to get it so I would suggest do
that and by the way those um those
pictures that I used in there came from
this this book right here the good and
evil it's in about 85 languages it's the
Bible story Illustrated for adults it's about
about
320 pages I think something like that
and uh so if you want to see that in but
you can get it online free too if you
want to read it just look up the good
and evil what is it look up good and
evil comic book good and evil comic book
and you can read it in any one of your
favorite 85 languages I don't know maybe
it's not that many in that how many we
got in that I think about 60 got about
60 you can read from or or you can share
it with the someone when you go in and
find someone speaking Indian and uh H
Hindi and you don't you can't
communicate with them hit your cell
phone show it to them they scan the code
and they've got it on their phone so
it's like a digital gospel track okay
that's all I'm going to go back and play
