The AEIC Center for Operational Excellence was established in 2024 to foster collaboration among utilities, enabling them to address industry-wide challenges and meet unprecedented energy demand through shared knowledge and innovative solutions.

We created the center for operational
excellence as part of the AEIC family um 2024
2024
because we saw an increase in the
opportunity for us to reach others in
the industry with the work that we're
doing. The goal of the op center is to
listen to our members throughout their
committee and subcommittee engagements
and understand what are the
transformational issues that all of the
member companies are effectively dealing
with in near real time.
>> Why now? Because our country faces
unprecedented demand for energy and we
the utility sector need to step up to
that need. AEIC provides the platform
where utilities come together, provide
best practices, lessons learned and
share ideas to serve that demand. The
center of excellence is unique in
providing that platform for
collaboration where we bring utilities
together. We talk about the challenges,
we talk about the innovative solutions
and to meet a demand that we've never
seen before.
The value of being a part of the AIC
center for operational excellence is for
the utilities that are actively
participating in these critical action
forums can come together and listen to
those that have gone before and those
that are just starting. Now it's really
important for us to come together and
unify all the knowledge that we have and
put that to a greater purpose to create
something new that is going to be
relevant for our industry. The last few
years have seemed quite similar um quite
similar to uh to what we've been talking
about today. But now it's really the
time for action, the time to really
start taking the ideas and uh
collectively focus them towards
deliverables and making things happen.
>> What's our biggest gap? People. So where
should we put our investments? Let's get
together, invest in an operation of
excellence that's going to help us scale
up the our our people, not just on the
electrical side, which is a big boss
word right now, but it's everywhere. I
mean, we we need to scale up our our
teams, and the only way to do it is
collaborating. So, getting together to
make sure we address technologies, we
address skill sets, we address policies,
um it's going to be critical for all of
us to be able to succeed. We're in a
incredible place right now in our
industry. I've been working for a long
time. I've never experienced anything
like we're seeing today in terms of
investments. We have to work together
today. This is the most important time
in our history as an industry to work
