Dis, I suppose this one's a real
disappointment, especially after
Saturday. Just your thoughts on that
defeat to win.
>> First of all, got to give them credit.
They're definitely the best side that
we've played here. Uh, in my opinion,
they moved the ball really well and the
momentum of them beating Dartford away
and and Brentwood away. Uh, you saw
that. Thought they moved the ball really
well. Thought they attacked in good numbers.
numbers.
Junior and I sensed that something
wasn't quite right when we came in from
the warmup. It was a bit off. So, we
went into the changes, which we never do
between coming in from the warm-up and
going out to try and g up a little bit.
But, you know, first time I've really
gone at him at half time and at the end
just said wasn't acceptable. Individual
performances not good enough. We weren't
good enough on first connections. We
lost pretty much every second ball. uh
we never found the areas that we were
looking to exploit them for even though
they were clearly open. We didn't
understand the use of our fullbacks
and I guess you could argue maybe that
that's on us as staff but or me as the
manager first and foremost what we said
to him in the change rooms there. We
haven't done anything tonight that we
haven't done before. So if you don't
understand it, you need to kind of look
at yourself in the mirror. But yeah, we
it's really it's really really
disappointing tonight.
>> I suppose it felt a bit like we were
kind of second best at every kind of
moment really with winning the second
balls and even the first of times. Is
that how you viewed it? It was very
similar to when we played them
earlier on in the season in terms of you
play on the Saturday, you score four at
home, the place is absolutely bouncing,
everybody's buzzing afterwards, you hit
an adrenaline rush and then 3 days later
you somehow got to bring yourself back
down and get on with a football game.
And we had spells and we played them
away where we were a little bit all over
the place. and it's only really happened
in my opinion probably against White
Hawk away. So
yeah, it's it's it isn't one really
where I I I will dwell on it too much.
We'll watch it back, but I'm not sure
we'll do that straight away. We have to
concentrate on Saturday. But ultimately,
I just think we as a whole completely
let ourselves down from from start to finish.
finish.
>> You you said you you kind of let into
ladime. What would you say to them at
full time in addressing after you climb
the fans?
>> It just at times you need leaders and
that doesn't necessarily have to be a
voice that can be based on how how you
perform. I'll never say that we didn't
try or I'll never say that we quit.
But when you're chasing and a team's got
energy and they're celebrating every
time they make a tackle and every time
they make a header, which most teams
only really do when they come here and
it's being able to match that energy
because some teams, well, most teams
only play here once a year. We have to
deal with that every time we're we're
we're home and away. And we didn't we
didn't match the energy. We didn't match
the aggression. We didn't match the
fight. and we lost that from top of the
pitch to the back of the pitch. And when
that happens, your tactics go out the
window. It doesn't matter what shape you
play. It doesn't matter what um style
you play, it doesn't matter what
formation you play. It's it you're going
to get beaten.
>> Looking ahead then to to Saturday and
that kind of get bon I suppose in an
idea, well, you probably want to play it
tomorrow after tonight, wouldn't you?
>> Yes and no. Um the difficulty you have
when you get beat in the manner that you
got beat is yeah you're you're praying
for the next game to come round and and
But at the minute emotions are are high.
So all I kind of want to do is I say to
have a shower and get myself to to bed.
But look we we've got to be better
because honestly everybody is good in
this league and everybody can beat
everybody. And I'm not saying that
myself or my staff or any of the boys
underestimate teams, but if we're not
matching levels of what everybody's
coming with, you you get beat. You get
beat. It's from, in my opinion, it's
it's not often that tactically you you
win games. It it comes down to part of
that and then yeah, your energy
everywhere else. So, we've said to the
boys, moan now. Moan in the changes
while you're showering, you get ready,
go home. when you come in Thursday, they
have to set the tone and they have to
set the energy. And that's what our
culture is based on. It all can't be,
you know,
done by the staff. And the same with us.
We've got to come back with a new energy
and and look to Burgess Hill and then
look to Crave Valley and then look to
hashtag who are games that we feel that
we can win and games that they'll feel
that they can win. And you know, if
we're standing here in 10 days time with
three wins on the bounce, you can kind
of brush this one to the side. But terms
of like the eight or nine games
unbeaten, I know predominantly draws and
the way that we play in some of those
fixtures. Um, yeah, today's a bad way to
to end that run. Pair
>> updates. We'll leave it there. We'll
catch up on Saturday afternoon.
