0:12 theend if the stars fall in the earth it begins
0:14 begins
0:18 to the intelligent minorities can
0:20 engineer consent through the use of
0:24 manipulation propaganda and control and
0:26 we should do it people have got to know
0:28 whether or not their president is a
0:31 crook well I'm not a crook
0:33 we're in the midst of a serious
0:34 financial crisis and the federal
0:37 government is responding with decisive
0:40 action I know that the American people
0:42 share my deep belief that if a danger
0:44 exists in the world it is a danger
0:47 shared by
0:51 all we need to actually double down on
0:56 measures you can't look at that
0:58 television and say nothing happened on
1:00 the sixth I would like you to answer the
1:01 question okay it's very simple to answer
1:03 that's why I asked it it's very simple
1:11 you the
1:15 end most people have no awareness of how
1:17 easily our behavior and even our
1:20 identity can be completely taken
1:25 over but people are waking
1:28 up I spent 20 years in the US military
1:30 I'm a behavior expert I I've trained
1:32 Sops I'm the bestselling author in
1:34 behavioral psychology I want to show you
1:36 exactly how to identify what we call
1:39 engineered reality or what some people call
1:40 call [Music]
1:48 [Music]
1:50 scops at the end of this I'm going to
1:52 give you a tool that's literally going
1:55 to give you a score out of 100 that
1:57 shows you how likely something is to be
2:03 so the first thing you need to know is
2:06 following the Fate model Focus Authority
2:09 tribe and emotion this is what triggers
2:10 the mamalian part of our brain that
2:12 makes all of our real decisions the
2:16 first part is focus Sops always aim to
2:18 hijack your attention with repetition
2:21 shocking visuals of fear inducing
2:24 scenarios some examples are like 247
2:26 media coverage of a crisis or constant
2:29 repetition of terms like unprecedented
2:32 so with this pause and ask why is this
2:35 message being pushed so aggressively so
2:37 compare how much airtime different
2:39 stories are receiving and note any
2:41 disproportionate Focus the second part
2:44 here is Authority trusted figures might
2:46 shift their tone or positions
2:48 unnaturally to support the narrative so
2:52 watch very closely for expert panelists
2:55 or endorsements where authority figures
2:57 might speak outside of their expertise
2:59 pay close attention to that one then we
3:00 have Tri
3:03 so messages that polarize opinions or
3:06 create Stark ingroups versus out groups
3:09 or exploit our tribal instincts for
3:12 example labeling groups as Patriots
3:15 versus traitors or scientific versus
3:18 deniers be very careful when you hear
3:20 that language finally we have emotion so
3:23 be wary of any communication that
3:26 triggers strong emotions like fear hope
3:30 or outrage without any clear verifiable
3:33 evidence so emotional responses suppress
3:36 critical thinking emotional responses
3:38 suppress critical thinking so as a tip
3:40 here analyze the evidence that's
3:42 presented to you if facts are replaced
3:45 by appeals to emotion you need to be
3:48 very very cautious as an example this
3:49 think about like a news channel
3:52 repeatedly showing images of empty
3:55 grocery shells and panic Shoppers during
3:58 a food supply scare it dominates every
4:00 broadcast and it pushes people into
4:03 fear-driven Behavior next question
4:07 novelty our brains are wired to focus on
4:10 Sudden or unusual changes because they
4:12 signal potential threats or
4:14 opportunities and this is an
4:17 evolutionary survival mechanism Sops
4:19 exploit this by creating events that
4:21 break normal expectations like
4:23 unexpected crises or dramatic
4:27 Revelations so ask yourself why is this
4:29 new so consider if the event or
4:32 somebody's message has been artificially
4:35 manufactured or timed look for patterns
4:37 like sudden shifts in public opinion
4:40 trending hashtag that are unusual or
4:43 viral videos that seem very coincidental
4:46 so for this one just picture a new viral
4:48 video just claims to expose a government
4:51 cover up but it conveniently comes out
4:53 the exact same day that there's some
4:55 damaging eviden against some
4:58 high-ranking official the timing shifts
5:00 public Focus all of this is part of the
5:03 NCI system I developed for teaching
5:05 tradecraft and extreme psychological
5:08 operations and there's even a gigantic
5:10 textbook for all of this stuff in the
5:12 description definitely not for everybody
5:14 but it's definitely the most
5:16 comprehensive guide in the world on this
5:19 stuff so next item look for multiple
5:22 sources centralized narratives create an
5:24 echo chamber and they silence dissent
5:27 and they narrow perspectives for example
5:29 if all media Outlets present identical
5:32 talking points it is a humongous red
5:35 flag so actively seek out contrarian or
5:37 independent voices even if they
5:39 challenge something that's already in
5:41 your head so in reality an example
5:44 during a maybe breaking Health crisis
5:46 all the major news outlets report on the
5:49 exact same study but independent
5:51 researchers revealed the study was
5:54 funded by a company selling the solution
5:56 so watch for that group speak next is
5:58 identify cognitive dissonance weapons
6:00 let's talk about how this works so
6:03 cognitive dissonance comes up when new
6:07 information clashes with our Identity or
6:10 our beliefs so Sops exploit the hell out
6:14 of this by uh including micro agreements
6:16 micro Agreements are little small
6:19 seemingly harmless concessions to shape
6:22 your identity and over time you're going
6:24 to unconsciously align your behavior to
6:27 reduce that internal conflict and as a
6:30 weaponization example of this a scop
6:34 might present you as a part of moral or
6:37 intelligent Enlightenment like only good
6:41 citizens do XYZ if you disagree with
6:44 that you risk some identity conflict
6:46 there so reflect on your identity and
6:50 ask am I being nudged to identify with
6:52 some other group so be very careful of
6:54 any campaigns that are asking for
6:57 seemingly minor commitments there like
6:59 signing petitions changing your profile
7:01 picture that evolves into some bigger
7:04 compliance or demand later as an example
7:06 of this let's say a company launches an
7:10 ad campaign and they claim real Patriots
7:13 by local if you disagree with their
7:15 product it feels like rejecting your
7:17 identity as a patriot so this pushes you
7:20 to conform be very very skeptical about
7:23 those identity statements next is
7:26 looking for those emotional scripts and
7:28 what I mean by this is the scripts that
7:30 were written in our brains by our
7:32 ancestors so manipulated narratives
7:35 trigger instincts like the fear of loss
7:39 or scarcity social rejection or danger
7:41 for example a a media story about food
7:44 shortages might activate survival
7:46 scripts that cause Panic buying and
7:47 stuff like that and we have scarcity
7:50 fear this is sudden warnings about
7:53 limited resources like water or medicine
7:55 also Sparks that kind of behavior and
7:57 then we have Tribal rejection these are
7:59 threats of being socially outcast fast
8:02 like you're selfish if you don't comply
8:05 and those things override logic every
8:08 time and as a tip for this break the
8:10 script by focusing on the facts like
8:12 what's the likelihood of this scenario
8:15 so compare the claims with other sources
8:18 for this just picture where a politician
8:20 says something like if we don't act now
8:23 our children will not have a future this
8:25 Taps into survival instincts those
8:27 ancestor scripts in our head and it's
8:29 tied to protecting offspring creates
8:33 urgency without any facts next is follow
8:35 the money so there's a trail of
8:37 beneficiaries here so identifying who
8:39 benefits always is going to reveal the
8:42 motive so look for funding sources like
8:44 sponsorships or political connections
8:46 that are tied to the narrative so use
8:49 tools like ops.org or public Financial
8:52 records to see who profits from this so
8:54 for policies or campaigns identify the
8:57 industries like Pharmaceuticals tech
8:59 companies Etc that stand to gain the
9:01 most so to illustrate this in your mind
9:03 right now picture a charity that's
9:06 promoting clean energy awareness and
9:09 they seem Noble until an investigations
9:11 are showing that it's funded by a solar
9:14 panel Corporation that's lobbying for
9:16 subsidies or something like that next
9:18 and this one is very important is
9:21 analyze the context boundary the
9:24 mechanism here is context and context
9:26 defines what is permissible so
9:30 manipulative people shift cont texts to
9:33 normalize extreme Behavior as an example
9:35 this in emergencies people accept
9:37 surveillance or martial law that they
9:40 normally would completely resist so ask
9:43 what is the context compare some similar
9:45 events in different settings to see if
9:47 the rules or responses seem
9:50 disproportionate look for contradictions
9:52 so for lots of the students who are
9:55 brand new to NCI University this right
9:58 here is the most massive realization
10:00 when they realize that the ability to
10:03 weaponize cognitive dissonance and then
10:05 shift the context can get anyone to do
10:08 almost anything as a hypothetical
10:09 example of this let's say there's a
10:12 major Cyber attack the governments are
10:14 now justifying some sweeping
10:16 surveillance laws to protect the
10:19 citizens this changes the context to
10:21 make previously unacceptable actions
10:25 seem absolutely necessary next spot the
10:27 use of archetypes because they're woven
10:31 into our brains Sops simplify narratives
10:33 by using Arch types like heroes and
10:36 villains and saviors some examples are
10:38 like portraying one leader as the sole
10:41 solution or demonizing denters as the
10:45 enemy deconstruct the story ask who are
10:46 the characters and what roles are they
10:50 playing simplistic like good versus evil
10:53 stories usually signal manipulation just
10:57 about every time so always seek Nuance
10:58 there in the real world you're going to
11:01 see something like maybe a leader is
11:03 repeatedly portrayed as a savior
11:05 fighting something that's pure evil and
11:08 the narrative ignores their mistakes and
11:11 oversimplifies the conflict to prevent a
11:15 lot of scrutiny next evaluate the frame
11:18 so let's do a stepbystep evaluation here
11:20 first one is expectation what are you
11:22 expected to believe or do based on this
11:24 thing that you're exposed to in the
11:26 media next is belief what assumptions
11:29 are being made about you like your value
11:31 views or your fears then we have
11:33 perception so how is reality being
11:36 shaped like selective facts or missing
11:39 contexts and definition is the final
11:42 step here when it comes to a frame what
11:45 truth is being asserted as something
11:47 that's completely unchallengeable this
11:50 comes up with information suppression so
11:51 really look for topics that are being
11:54 avoided critics that are being silenced
11:56 if somebody needs to be silenced in
11:58 order for an idea to make it then the
12:01 idea is not not good so alternative
12:03 viewpoints being discredited that's a
12:05 big one to look out for so cross check
12:08 timelines of events and notice if
12:11 critics are labeled conspiracists or if
12:13 algorithms are suppressing some kind of
12:15 specific search and this is a big one
12:17 especially in today's time so to get a
12:19 good example of this during maybe a
12:23 corporate Scandal the company's PR team
12:25 frames these critics as disgruntled
12:29 employees with a grudge so this shifts
12:31 the focus away from the legitimate
12:35 concerns to the motives of the critics
12:36 and it does it almost without us
12:38 realizing that that's happening in our
12:41 brain so next be alert to Rapid
12:44 compliance shifts this one is scary and
12:47 it's happening every day scops create
12:50 urgency to drive rapid compliance and
12:52 these tactics are stuff like emotional
12:56 appeals staged group behaviors or False
12:58 Consensus for this it's really important
13:00 to slow down down and resist the
13:02 pressure to act to question the
13:05 Conformity as much as possible and test
13:08 the message engaging the Skeptics there
13:10 so in the real world this might look
13:12 like maybe a viral social media
13:15 challenge urges all these users to adopt
13:18 this brand new symbol or profile picture
13:21 or hashtag kind of overnight and it
13:24 creates a wave of compliance so later
13:26 this is kind of like a foot in the door
13:29 technique it's tied to some device
13:32 divisive political agenda next study the
13:35 timing of the events and this one's huge
13:38 especially right now timing is
13:40 everything ask yourself why is this
13:43 happening now so what other events or
13:45 scandals might this thing be distracting
13:48 everybody from so look for very
13:51 coincidental timing with unrelated major
13:54 news stories or political movements
13:58 scops can very often be uh smoke screens
14:01 and real life you might see stuff like
14:04 uh a a huge celebrity breakup floods all
14:07 of the headlines exactly as some major
14:09 investigative report about government
14:12 corruption is about to be released
14:15 coincidence probably not the next thing
14:17 I want you to do is to sharpen your
14:20 brain to start hearing and understanding
14:22 these manipulation tactics and one of
14:24 the biggest things that you can do the
14:25 most effective way that I could train
14:28 you right now just you and me is to
14:31 teach your brain to recognize logical
14:33 fallacies so let's go through these
14:35 because scops very often use these
14:38 flawed arguments to convince people and
14:39 if you know how to spot them it makes
14:42 you a lot harder to manipulate let me
14:43 give you 10 of these so that your brain
14:46 gets hardwired to start seeing
14:49 everything a whole lot differently so
14:50 the first one that you're going to see
14:53 all the time appeal to emotion so this
14:57 uses fear and anger and hope to bypass
14:59 logic so like if you don't support
15:00 support this children are going to
15:04 suffer next is the straw man argument
15:06 this misrepresents somebody's argument
15:09 so they can attack it better so somebody
15:11 might say they oppose the lockdowns
15:14 because they don't care about lives
15:16 think about that one number three is the
15:19 bandwagon policy so this claims that
15:21 something is true because everyone
15:23 supports it and this is you hear this
15:25 all the time millions of people agree
15:28 with X Y and Z you should agree with it
15:31 too number four is the false dilemma
15:33 this presents only two extreme options
15:36 and it ignores Alternatives so it's the
15:39 either you're with us or you're against
15:42 us fallacy there number five is the ad
15:44 homonym attacks this is the attack of
15:48 the person and not the argument be very
15:51 observant for this so this is when you
15:53 hear you can't trust her she's not a
15:55 scientist you can't do X because they're
15:59 not qualified based on X ad homonym is
16:00 very common and I want your brain to be
16:03 able to spot it number six is appeal to
16:05 Authority and this is a claim that
16:07 something is true because an authority
16:11 figure said so so like Dr X supports it
16:13 so it's absolutely right you have to
16:15 trust the science number seven is the
16:18 slippery slope these are claims that one
16:21 action is going to lead to some extreme
16:23 negative outcome so you've heard this
16:25 before somebody says something like if
16:27 we allow this we're going to lose all of
16:29 our freedoms all of our freedom freedoms
16:31 are Gone the country is gone all of that
16:34 kind of talk like that be very attuned
16:36 to when you hear that and very cautious
16:38 when you hear that number eight Hasty
16:41 generalizations and these are broad
16:43 claims that are made with very little
16:46 evidence so the example is two
16:48 politicians lied so all of them must be
16:51 corrupt so giant claim tiny bit of
16:53 evidence two politicians might have lied
16:55 so they're all corrupt number nine is
16:58 huge it's the red herring so this
17:00 distract people with irrelevant
17:02 information you've heard this maybe as
17:05 an example when somebody says why are we
17:07 worrying about climate change when we
17:09 have so much crime going on right now
17:11 it's an argument of distraction number
17:14 10 is false equivalence this Compares
17:17 two things as equals when they're
17:19 absolutely not equal so you'll hear
17:20 somebody say something in the news
17:23 that's both sides have extremists so
17:27 they're exactly the same that's a very
17:32 I know there's a lot of information here
17:34 so I want to give you access to the
17:38 actual tool that we use to identify Sops
17:40 that even rates the likelihood on a 1 to
17:42 100 scale I'm going to add that into the
17:45 description right below this video but
17:48 keep this in mind throughout history the
17:51 people who stood tallest in the storm
17:53 were not the ones who knew all the
17:56 answers they were the ones who asked the
17:59 right questions they weren't the loudest
18:01 voices they were the calmest they were
18:04 the people that had composure thanks for
