i decided to make this video
on how to write more professionally many
students of mine
say give us some tips on how to write
and because you're watching a short
video you know it's not a lecture in
that sense
and i know you may have not read the sbl
previous exam or the specimens so i'm
not going to use something from that i'm
going to give you a fictional
case something that you know i just can
come up with about let's say uh
using porter's diamond in in in an answer
answer
and just tell you the layout now if
you're taking the exams
online that's fine you can of course
plug it in and write it
if you're taking the handwritten still
in some areas around the world you can
probably see how i'm going to do it
so just just follow the logic here to
understand how to probably get more
marks be more professional and apply a
model that's all i'm trying to do
and if you're going to go back of course
you rewind some of the areas that may be helpful
helpful
let's see how this turns out so let's
assume let's assume there is a
an svl case uh in the hotel industry
there there was one in the hotel industry
industry
uh i think it was called highlight but
in any case
let's say it's in the hotel industry and
there's they're talking about a country
now if you remember
from your sbl readings or videos of mine
if you have the word country
then what's the first model that comes
to mind it's diamond

students if there's a country involved

probably porter's diamond that you can use

if the question or the question talks
about position it could be a swat analysis

if they ask you about let's say
competition it could be five forces
if it's risk management it could be the
risk process
if it's stakeholders it could be mandalo
so based on the key
word you need to know which model to use
now i'm not saying that it's very straightforward
straightforward
but if you look at my notes and my information
information
there's about 20 words on this there's
20 key words
that should lead you to think of a model
and you will see that the exhibits have
information from that model if there's
no information on that
it's probably a wrong model that's how
you kind of pinpoint what's going on
so i know you don't have the experience to
to
to know hundred percent but that's the
idea so let's assume there's a country
you know let's take greece i come from greece
greece
so i'll take greece as an example and uh there's

a hotel consortium wants to expand into greece
greece
okay and they're asked and there's a
requirement on a country
checking greece as a as a new place to

overall you have to know how to use
the diamond model so the diamond model which

is something that people get confused on
has four elements so make sure
if you're taking it online you can
probably write the four elements
and actually space between so you can
elaborate on your
on your information you can't do that
when you handwrite
so that's a positive thing of
computer-based exam
you can put the main points which are

on who you're writing to what the
requirement would be
it's always important to be two or three
lines you can't
of course say too many things about this because

exhibit on the tourism growth in that country
country
there's something there why would they
ask it so there's a lot of information
here two or three or four lines
but always say because blah blah blah
because greece has trend blah blah
because if you have a couple of because here
here
that's the way to get the mark okay then
you talk about demand
based on statistics in exhibit uh uh
three or something there it seems to be
a demand growing and there's three
million customers every month in greece
so there's you have to explain that and
this shows that it's a good opportunity
because the trend is if you have another
because here there's a mark for that
so because you're explaining something
on that okay
rivalry there's a lot of competition not
only within greece but
even countries like greece to get you
know tourists to come to the country so
the rivalries makes you better
if there's competition in the market
that makes the whole industry better so
you have to explain that
with a because that will help the
company based on exhibit whatever
and then of course supporting industries
what are the supporting industries
it's having for example tavernas
or kiosks or are nice places to stay accommodation
accommodation
it's everything that surrounds the
hospitality industry
those are the the taxis the roads the
airplanes the airports
so if you have this so greece has a
positive let's say supporting industry
even though
we're not the best in that but we're
quite good in supporting industries
there is a rivalry
we do have demand for tourism and and
overall therefore
greece blah blah blah would be a very
good opportunity based on the above analysis
analysis
and based on using whatever the fear the
diamond theory it shows that this
is good or whatever so this is how to
structure an
answer always check the layout there's a
mark there there's probably a mark for
intro conclusion if there's a
communication skill
and then there's a couple of areas here
that you can add two marks for each one
eight it's about a ten mark question i
didn't give you how many marks
because this is fictional i'm not asking
you to go through to do a case but
that's the way to do it
now if there was a change question it
would have been let's say three
areas of change so for example change
okay another last one change change
management okay there's a question on
change management
and there is a a company let's say let's
say a company
wants to change the software okay so the
it department
needs to change the software for the
company and they want to move from
oracle which is a very big organization
that has a lot of
company software and here is to go to
sap that's the big change
now here if there's a report again
to from okay referring to
sap implementation and then over on
intro if it slides then it would be you
would have to do this
if you're handwriting it if you're doing
it online there is an area on the bottom

to structure my answer and then

so in the unfree stage i would actually
try to weaken

feedback so every stage if you know the
theory can give you the answer what to do

so the models which are about 25 to 30
if you count them all models and theories
