0:03 Hey, so I memorized more than 250 songs
0:05 in English and in this video I'll tell
0:09 you uh the top five benefits of
0:11 listening to music. Okay, so I wrote
0:13 them in my cool diary and I'm going to
0:15 read them to you today. Not read, but
0:17 explain them to you today. So the first
0:18 benefit is probably the most
0:20 straightforward one. It's like you're
0:22 going to improve your pronunciation by
0:25 default and as well as your intonation.
0:27 So when you listen to music in English,
0:29 your pronunciation will just skyrocket.
0:31 Okay. Of course, you need to listen to
0:33 one song repeatedly. Just repeat it over
0:34 and over and over and over and over
0:37 again. And then also try to sing it. And
0:39 as a result, you're going to just master
0:42 the pronunciations of certain words in
0:45 this song. And if you do that 250 times,
0:47 you're going to have crystal clear
0:48 pronunciation because a lot of people
0:50 said to me that I have crystal clear
0:52 pronunciation in English. Thank you for
0:55 that. And yeah, I did it by listening to
0:58 250 songs and then memorizing them. I
1:01 know maybe like 80% of the lyrics in
1:05 these songs and pronunciations. So yeah,
1:07 I kind of memorize pronunciation by
1:10 listening to a lot of songs in English.
1:12 And not only that, it's also going to
1:14 help you with your intonation. when
1:15 you're listening to music in English,
1:19 you're just going to have the correct
1:22 intonation when you are trying to speak
1:24 in English because uh you're just going
1:29 to learn how singers sing the music and
1:31 you will try to impress yourself or
1:33 other people when you are trying to sing
1:35 the song. So this happened to me. It's
1:39 like if when I sat at home alone, I was
1:41 just singing music sometimes because
1:43 that happens naturally. You will just
1:45 naturally want to start singing the
1:46 music that you've listen that you're
1:49 listening to. And as a result, you will
1:50 try to impress yourself. You'll try to
1:52 get better at singing a specific song.
1:54 You will become like a game for you. And
1:56 as a result, you're going to improve
1:59 your pronunciation and English. You will
2:01 also want to learn what the song is
2:03 about. So, you're also going to learn a
2:06 lot from new words, vocabulary, and also
2:08 grammar as well. But grammar is a bit
2:11 controversial because a lot of a lot of
2:14 English teachers say that well if you
2:16 listen to music in English it's not
2:18 going to help you because your grammar
2:20 will suck and your pronunciation will
2:22 suck because well they're they're native
2:23 speakers but they have different
2:24 pronunciations different grammar. They
2:26 make mistakes while singing music. Well,
2:28 of course everybody makes mistakes,
2:29 right? Native speakers makes make
2:31 mistakes when they speak. So that's
2:33 completely normal. And when you listen
2:35 to music, of course, there going to be a
2:37 lot of words that you don't understand.
2:39 There's going to be a lot of metaphors,
2:41 right? It's like you're trying to uh
2:43 sing the song, but you don't even know
2:44 what the song is about because there's a
2:47 lot of metaphors and there's it's not
2:50 like the meaning is not straightforward
2:51 of a song. And that's completely fine.
2:55 That happens. So, uh I would suggest you
2:57 to stop listening to those English
3:01 teachers because I really think that if
3:05 you just know uh a lot of metaphors in
3:06 English that's going to help you with
3:08 your English, right? If you genuinely
3:10 want to know what the song is about,
3:12 just Google it. Just ask Chad GPT for it
3:15 about it and you are going to
3:17 understand, right? And the better you
3:19 understand specific songs, the better
3:21 you understand English in general. And
3:22 your pronunciation is also going to
3:24 improve. And well, you will make
3:26 mistakes, but that's completely fine.
3:27 That's normal. Of course, maybe there's
3:30 going to be some um grammatical mistakes
3:33 that native speakers made in those songs
3:36 or rappers uh use some incorrect words
3:38 in incorrect sentences. That's
3:40 completely normal. You're not going to
3:42 say them in everyday conversation
3:44 because it's like spoken and written
3:46 English. It's like when you are writing
3:49 something in your diary, you are writing
3:50 differently. You're you're not going to
3:53 speak the same way uh as you're doing in
3:55 your notebook. As you're writing in your
3:56 notebook, it's like you're not going to
4:00 be speaking the same way the same way
4:01 that you're singing, right? You're going
4:03 to be speaking differently, right? So
4:06 that's completely fine. Don't worry
4:07 about this. Stop listening to English
4:09 teachers and just listen to music
4:11 because it's going to help you in all
4:13 aspects of English. So the third point I
4:16 want to make is it helps you associate
4:18 English with positive. So since
4:21 childhood you probably been conditioned
4:24 by I don't know by a lot of stuff that
4:26 English is bad right? It's like that's
4:28 the reason why you're still not fluent.
4:30 You still think that well English is
4:32 something bad. I need to learn I need to
4:34 spend time memorizing words. It's like I
4:35 just need to spend a lot of time in
4:38 textbooks memorizing words. I need to
4:39 memorize intonations. I need to learn
4:41 grammar. and you associate English with
4:43 negative. Maybe you had a teacher in
4:45 school and you didn't like her because
4:48 she she used to like give you a lot of
4:50 grammar and a lot of stuff that you
4:52 didn't like. Like maybe you wanted to
4:54 just start speaking English but she was
4:56 like well you need to grind the
4:58 textbooks or maybe you had some
5:00 difficult experience in English when you
5:02 were trying to speak. Maybe one time you
5:04 spoke to a native speaker and they said
5:06 to you that your English sucks or
5:07 something like that and then you're like
5:09 well I guess I don't want to speak
5:11 English anymore. That happened to me a
5:14 lot of times. What? Well, one time uh my
5:16 English teacher called me a pig. Okay,
5:18 because I copied my friend's homework
5:21 and I was like that hurt me a lot. Okay,
5:23 that's like my childhood trauma. And so
5:25 when I started to listen to music in
5:27 English, I just kind of healed my
5:31 trauma, you know? Um, it just kind of
5:34 helped me to realize that well, English
5:37 is not negative. It's positive. You can
5:40 become fluent in English. It's not a
5:43 problem if you listen to music and you
5:46 start singing it one day. It's like if
5:49 you actually sing it on a good level, if
5:52 you if you sing almost like the artist
5:53 in the song and if you have really good
5:55 pronunciation, it's just going to boost
5:56 your confidence and you're going to
5:58 sound more fluent and it's going to
6:01 become more enjoyable for you to learn
6:05 English. So listening to music is fun.
6:06 And for example, you're sitting on the
6:08 beach like me right now and listening to
6:10 to your favorite song. Let's say it's
6:13 called Yellow for some reason. I don't
6:15 know why, but let's say your favorite
6:16 song is Yellow by Coldplay. You're
6:17 sitting on the beach, you're listening
6:19 to the song, and you um start
6:22 associating English with music, with
6:25 something relaxing, and well, you start
6:28 enjoying singing music in what language?
6:31 In English. And as a result, you're just
6:33 going to connect English with positive.
6:34 And there's a lot of ways to do that.
6:36 When you start speaking in English on
6:38 camera or to your friends or to somebody
6:40 or to yourself or to your cactus or to
6:43 your pet and you enjoy doing that, you
6:45 associate it with positive. When you
6:46 start singing music in English or
6:48 listening to music in in English and you
6:50 enjoy doing that, you're going to
6:54 associate with positive as well. So um
6:57 music equals positive and this way
6:59 you're going to have a lot more
7:02 motivation to learn English. So um now
7:04 let's go to the fourth point which is it
7:06 will help you become louder and more
7:09 confident. I mean just imagine singing
7:13 music alone at home for example first
7:15 and then it's like it's just going to
7:17 become an ear earworm in your brain.
7:19 It's like if you memorize one specific
7:20 song, it's going to become an earworm in
7:22 your brain and you will just sing it
7:25 everywhere and then you will stop having
7:28 those mental barriers and you will just
7:30 start singing it maybe with your friends
7:32 or maybe you're sitting on the beach and
7:34 listening uh listening to yell and then
7:37 started singing it to random pe just on
7:40 the beach, right? And well, you become
7:42 louder. It's like every time you repeat
7:45 the same lyrics from the same song, you
7:47 become a bit more louder. And the next
7:48 time you're speaking to somebody in a
7:50 conversation, you also become louder
7:52 because well, right now you associate
7:55 English with positive. You associate
7:57 singing music with positive. And as a
7:59 result, you just become louder and
8:00 louder and louder and louder and more
8:03 confident. The more you listen to music,
8:05 the more confident you become in
8:08 English. And the more you associate
8:10 speaking in English, saying words from
8:15 your mouth to something positive, right?
8:18 And as a result, you're going to become
8:21 more confident. So this is awesome. So
8:23 as you can see, music also improves your
8:25 confidence. And the fifth point, the
8:27 last point is that it just helps you
8:29 with self-improvement. You know, English
8:32 is like self-improvement. You actually
8:33 want to improve yourself, right? And
8:34 that's why you're learning English right
8:36 now. If you want to improve yourself,
8:38 just listen to music that genuinely
8:40 helps you improve yourself because it's
8:43 like I started self-improvement when I
8:44 started learning English, which is
8:46 funny. I started watching all these
8:47 different self-improvement videos in
8:49 English and it just kind of skyrocketed
8:52 my confidence and all areas of my life,
8:54 but I did it in English thanks to
8:56 English. So, you can do the same thing
8:58 when you're listening to music. If you
9:00 just find some really good songs that
9:02 resonate with you and that are not
9:04 negative, that are positive, that's just
9:06 gonna help you and elevate your
9:08 self-improvement because it's just like
9:10 meditation. You are meditating on a
9:11 specific song. It's like you're
9:14 listening to one favorite song which
9:16 sings about resilience and confidence
9:18 and taking action or something like
9:20 that. If you just listen to the song
9:21 over and over and over again, you're
9:23 just going to build it in your
9:25 subconscious and the next time you go to
9:27 the gym, you're just going to pump this
9:29 iron harder. By the way, I'm right now
9:31 I'm on the beach and I'm also uh near
9:34 near the gym. So, after the video, I'm
9:37 going to train. Yeah. So, as you can
9:38 see, and I'm going to listen to my
9:41 favorite music in English
9:43 uh and train at the same time. How cool
9:45 is that, right? I already associate
9:49 English with positive and with gym. So
9:51 as you can see just it just helps you
9:52 with your self-improvement as well which
9:55 is awesome right? So this is the last
9:56 point I wanted to make. So let's
9:58 summarize everything quickly. It's going
10:01 to help you with all of your aspects in
10:02 English which is pronunciation,
10:06 vocabulary, grammar. then um just stop
10:07 listening to your English teachers
10:09 because I think that it doesn't matter
10:11 if you start making mistakes after
10:13 listening to music because you won't you
10:15 probably won't make a lot of mistakes.
10:16 You you are making mistakes right now
10:18 and that's fine. Native speakers makes
10:20 mistake make mistakes and that's fine.
10:22 Um it will help you associate English
10:24 with positive when you start listening
10:26 to music and it will help you become
10:29 more louder, more confident and also you
10:31 will improve yourself which is awesome.
10:33 So listening to music in English is
10:36 crucial for your English and for your
10:37 own self-improvement, especially if you
10:39 listen to positive music. So I hope this
10:41 video was helpful. I hope you learned
