China they eat seven dish every day in
Tanzania every even two dishes you know
yay [Applause]
[Applause]
good afternoon everyone from post
pandemic China you guys may have heard
the news recently that China is about to
open its borders for foreign tourists
and in a couple of months leading up to
that they were gradually opening it up
by allowing more Visa types and getting
rid of the quarantine policy for
international arrivals this allowed the
organization I work at Green jadang to
receive our very first International
guest in three years the environmental
ambassador of Tanzania winfredo shonde
and in between the packed itinerary of
conferences and tours and presentations
we got to have a bit of fun too and it
was during those moments that I got some
great Vlog footage so let's experience
this one-of-a-kind moment together rural
China meets a Tanzanian foreign
oh he wants to take a picture with you yeah
yeah
he says he's too ugly to be in the photo
hello [Music]
that's how this is yeah she's getting
rid of the weeds [Music]
[Music] wow
she says you're doing a great job I need
to take you with me more often when I go
to rural China you're definitely a
social butterfly your biggest fan is back
is everyone in Tanzania like you or is
this your like Personal Touch is
everyone this outgoing
many of them have this but I'm always in
my country everyone love me
I used to do this for the people make
smile so if I go to Tanzania don't
expect everyone to be quiet this you'll
expect one of them that's why they say
Tanzania are so lovely they want to they
make a guest like a home so when you go
there everyone will be wanting you to be
like at home when you go to your country
it's like you are leaving the family in Tanzania
Tanzania
how sad I don't want to leave can I go
you'll be there forever and we'll make
sure you have a happy life every day
no we don't have work in our country
full of Peace full of love no segregation
segregation
everyone in love we have a president
called Dr samiya Sulu Hassan she's a
woman so we sing like a mother and she's
just showing us the way so she's a
leader by example so if you see the
mother or your leader showing how to do
things then that's why I'm here not only
did my colleague and I get to experience
the off the chain outgoingness of
tanzanians we also got some interesting
nuggets of information about cultural
differences in China they eat 7 today
you put maze
and the
hey sweetie beautiful
beautiful
sorry about that we got distracted by
the potato dog anyway of all the
cultural differences I took note of
during my time accompanying Winnie the
most obvious one to me was how much
tanzanians love to give money and gifts
to strangers for example when we saw
some elderly people singing karaoke in
the bottom floor of a hotel when he was
trying to hand them 100 r b notes and in
Tanzania that's totally normal and
people would take the money and they'd
be happy but in China they were just like
like
it seems that in Tanzania giving a gift
or money to a stranger is a pretty
normal thing but in China if you want to
get a stranger to accept your gift it's
going to be a bit of a challenge you
have to like to this [Music]
[Music]
[Music]
she says watch out for your fingers
foreign [Music]
okay bye it is [Music]
she's [Laughter]
[Music]
what should I do it's just hard you have
to be like here take this to be like no
no no no and then you gotta be like take
it and they'll be like no no no no and
then you gotta do it like 10 times then
she accepts maybe yeah oh so you gave up
after the first time so she was like
okay I guess she wasn't really giving me
the gift if you tried like 20 times
you're like no take it take it take it
take it take it take it eventually they
even though people in China don't
generally accept gifts and money from
strangers one thing most people will
happily accept and give you back in
return is a smile and a greeting and
once we got some wheels and increased
our speed we could even more efficiently
deliver highs and waves and random
Tanzanian songs to everyone we pass foreign
foreign
how [Music]
[Music] what
[Music]
Tanzania hold up we're about to hit somebody
yeah
well we got the hang of it eventually yeah
the only Swahili that every American knows
oh my God that got released
wow this is how you have not to give up
yes this is a good example
never give up keep going keep going
never give up we're married [Applause]
[Applause]
so we are about to start heading back
towards the entrance but then far off in
the distance we saw a bunch of people
and then we just asked an employee what
they're doing and it's a bunch of kids
planting trees so of course money is
super excited and is literally running
[Music] children
[Music] foreign
foreign [Music]
[Music]
from kids planting trees to the drums in
the Park from random dogs to these
four-wheeled bicycle Contraptions our
Tanzanian friend was excited by anything
and everything including the legendary
selfie traps you are drawn in by the
music and the lights and the decorations
but once you go through this one-way
turnstile there's no going back you have
to go through the store where you are
tempted by an endless array of random
stairs with music and pretty lights and
now you gotta buy stuff
in total when he got lured into three of
these caves and I'm not gonna lie some
of this stuff is genuinely tempting
who could say no to this rubber Lobster
or how about this fidget spinner with
extra steps for this wobbly duck don't
you want a peacock xylophone or this
little guy look at him this place
satisfies all your wildest materialistic
okay
just when I thought the stuff in the
store couldn't get any more random Mini
Mini
yes you have to come it's the price you
pay to take selfies in the cave you have
wow do you feel tempted by this rubber corn
it just exists
it's just
it just exists
do you feel tempted yeah maybe I can put
you on the on my my
yeah yeah yeah we all know that stuff
has no real purpose and yet it's so hard
to leave the selfie cave store without
buying some kind of useless knickknack
this here is my rubber banana a gift
from Winnie symbolizing friendship
between Tanzania and the United States
and China and I will treasure it forever
from the scenic villages to the
enthusiastic children from the delicious
food to the inexplicably tempting
knickknacks we did our best to leave
Winnie with an impression of China she'd
never forget and she did the same with
us for Tanzania
how are you China how are you Tanzania
how about in China together
together
environment beautiful country
are you ready to give to be my assistant
Lo and cheesy yes
are you ready to get married with my
brother show me a picture [Laughter]
[Laughter] [Music]
[Applause]
Tanzania China America USA and we we
just say that we have we are capable to
make this world green to make this word
for the current and the future Russian
Russian
in the past all I knew about Tanzania
was its natural scenery and don't get me
wrong that is definitely something to be
excited about who doesn't Love Giraffes
right but now I am equally intrigued by
the people of this country their
friendliness and warmth their sense of
humor their Hospitality their optimism
and when my chance to visit Tanzania
comes I cannot wait to take you guys
with me when you come back soon we miss
you already hope you guys enjoyed this
little taste of Tanzanian culture and I
will see you all next time wow
wow [Music]
