This content provides an overview of upcoming changes in "3.27," focusing on significant nerfs to existing mechanics and ascendancies, alongside the introduction of new systems like Bloodline Ascendancies and Grafs, to help players prepare for the new league.
Thanks for checking out my video. 327 is
coming next week, so I thought I'd make
a video going over the changes that are
coming in 327 and going over the
different ascendy choices that we're
going to have available to us uh in the
upcoming league. So, let's go over what
changed first. What is gone is all the
mercenary power that we had, and we had
a lot of it. It's going to be sad not to
have any of it. We got extra curses. We
got action speed and crit immunity. Uh
we got extra fizz taken as bonus damage.
We got different ailments. We got extra
auras. We got all kinds of stuff from
mercenaries. That stuff is all gone.
Some stuff got nerfed. Importantly,
spell suppression got nerfed. Uh, a 20%
nerf from 50% down to 40% less damage
taken. Trickster got a bunch of nerfs.
Uh, One Step Ahead got nerfed down to
90% speed instead of 108. So, it's
actually not even going to give you a
speed buff anymore. Soulrinker lost its
attack speed and cast speed. and
spellbreaker lost all of its extra suppression.
suppression.
Uh, calling whisper, which is a soul
leader ring, uh, got a big indirect nerf
because they nerfed curse duration on
hex touch. And they got rid of the delve
rings, too. Uh, whispers of infinity got
nerfed from 400 ES down to 100 if you're
using that on a on a CI trickster. And
then the energy leech support got nerfed
from a total of 38% more damage down to
only 24% more damage. Uh what is going
to be new this league is we're getting
bloodline power uh ascendancies which
are you're going to be able to take one
alternate bloodline ascendy. Uh some of
them I think have up to three different
nodes on them. So theoretically you
could take only one node in your main
ascendy and up to three in a bloodline
one. Uh, but we haven't seen them all
yet. We're getting graphs, which are new
little things that we put on our
inventory, and they're going to give us
new power. Uh, assassin is brand new.
It's kind of meh in my opinion. There's
a bunch of new gems that got put in.
Nothing uh that we're probably going to
use on any Frost Blades build. We're
getting new Foulorn unique mods, which
are like special new corrupted mods that
replace mods on unique items. Could be
insane. And then there's a bunch of new
uniques. Uh, we haven't seen all of them
yet, but the few that they have revealed
all look kind of bad in my opinion. And
then everything else is the same pretty
much for every Frost Blades build. They
didn't touch any of the gem. The
ascendencies for the most part besides
slayer or not slayer, sorry, uh,
trickster. Uh, the the items are the
same. Everything else is the same. So,
here's the new assassin. Uh, I think the
assassin is not the most optimal
ascendancy for anything really, but it
is going to be playable. If I was going
to play assassin, I would go mist walker
and then deathmarked. So, that's three
nodes. And then for the fourth node, I
would probably go one of these two crit
nodes over here and until I uh found a
good bloodline node to take instead,
depending on what the bloodline nodes
are, but again, too early to say that.
So, now I'm going to go over some
ascendency pros and cons for all of
these five ascendencies here. The Warden
uh has the most insane damage of any
ascendency by far. Probably double the
damage of all the rest of them, if not
even more than that. Uh it has the
easiest freezing. Uh and then uh it's
the only girl here. So, if you if some
of you might some of you weirdos might
care about that, uh pick the warden.
Cons though is it doesn't have basically
any defense from the ascendancy except
for freeze. Uh, but the freeze it does
have is insanely powerful. Freeze is one
of the most underestimated defensive
layers in the game. Uh, the damage is
bursty because it's kind of dependent on
avatar. Uh, and then it also requires
some ramp uh, with shock stacking. And
if you don't really, if you're not
familiar with that node, uh, and you
don't know how to play around it, it
might turn out bad for you. The champion
is the tankiest of the lifebased
characters. It gets free accuracy cap
and free fortify, permanent fortify. Uh,
but it is a weaker damage ascendancy and
it's reliant on adrenaline which you
have to proc. Uh, and then its fourth
ascendy node is there's not really a
great choice. They're all kind of weak
in my opinion. And then its accuracy is
semiconditional because you have to hit
something first before you get the
cannot evade from it. Slayer has the
best recovery from over leech. It gets
20% coal and it gets uh endurance
charges equal to frenzy charges. So, you
can get lots of damage reduction from
endurance charges, which are insanely
powerful in the game right now. Uh, and
then but the cons are that it's boring
in my opinion. Uh, it basically forces
you to stack frenzy charges and then it
has some of its damage conditional based
on killed recently. Uh, but overall,
Slayer is a overall good choice.
Trickster uh got nerfed this league a
lot. Uh but uh it is still probably the
best ES hybrid uh ascendency in my
opinion. Uh it has great ES defense and
recovery from the ES over leachch. Uh it
has easy claw node access uh because of
its starting point. Uh and then charge
duration from swift killer is incredible
Q. If you've never played it before,
having just basically infinite charge up
time, it feels really good. Uh but the
cons are it got nerfed. it's much harder
to invest into block on Trickster. Uh,
and you're kind of pigeonholed into
going claw because of the starting
point. And then scaling ES really high
can be very very expensive because of
how popular energy shield is. And I
still think that's probably going to be
the case this league. Uh, then there's
some anti-ynergy with blood rage and
energy shield. Uh, because blood rage
degens your energy shield. So, uh,
assassin is going to get the easiest
crit cap because it's going to get a
free power charge. It's going to get
free accuracy cap because of the mark
node. You're going to get extra gem
slots because you don't need to use the
assassin's mark gem. It's going to have
free power charge generation uh which
you kind of get already uh from
Assassin's Mark quality, but assassins
going to have it's going to be better at
it. You get crit immunity while elusive
from Mistwalker, which is going to be
all the time. Uh so overall, decent
package, but the cons are it's also kind
of boring because it's there's no
buttons on it. It's just pure passive
ascendancy. It's going to have a lack of
defenses. Uh there's almost no defense
on it besides the crit immunity. Uh you
have to play claw because it's dependent
on elusive scaling, which means you have
to use nightblade, which means you have
to use claw or dagger, but I don't think
I'd go dagger. Uh the accuracy is
semiconditional the same way the
champions is. Uh and then the damage is
also bursty around elusive procking. So
that's an overview of all the pros and
cons between all the ascendencies. And
now I'm going to talk about some of some
miscellaneous stuff about each one. So
the warden is dependent on crit earlier
to get scorch online because you have to
crit in order to scorch. And scorch is
where a lot of the warden's damage comes
from. Uh if you go oath of spring for
and you have to shock stack, you have to
hit a lot of times to stack stack up
shock stacks. Uh and so VLS is really
good for that. Uh but if you aren't
aware of how that works and how
important it is, uh you might have some
trouble. And then avatar, you have to
manage your your avatar uptime uh and
align it with your shock stacking kind
of to get your best burst damage. So it
is there is some trickiness to playing
Warden. Uh on champion, adrenaline
procking is extremely important and uh
you have to kind of use corrupting fever
to selfdamage yourself to proc the
adrenaline. So that takes up extra gems
and you could also do it on a weapon
swap. So there's some practice involved
there to maximize that. Champion is the
hardest to scale damage because it's a
more defensive focused ascendency. Uh
and then also fortify stacking is very
expensive because of the gloves uh the
drop from Uber Xar. They made them a 1%
drop rate. Uh and then you do get perma
fortify which is very nice but you can
pretty much maintain permanent fortify
on all the classes uh because of the
chest implicit. So, you know, Slayer,
you can go two hand on Slayer the
easiest if you want to because endurance
charges uh kind of make up for not
having a shield because endurance
charges are just such a generically good
defensive layer. Uh but it is very
dependent on those charges. Uh
Frostblades builds don't typically
struggle with recovery. So, the over
leech that Slayer gets, uh I've haven't
found it to be the most like impactful
thing. Uh, but overall, Slayer is a
solid choice for a life-based character.
Trickster, one step ahead is good early,
but as soon as you get ailment immunity,
I think it's kind of not really worth
having on a freezing build because the
action speed reduction gets overridden
by your chill and freeze from
frostblades. Uh, so one step ahead is
kind of bad now. Uh, well, it's it's
always been bad in my opinion, but it's
even worse now. And then heat shiver.
You can't really take full advantage of
heat shiver on trickster because it's
anti-inergistic with escape artist. You
really want to have a big defensive
helmet to take advantage of escape
artist. So you either have to choose, do
you want the damage from heat shiver or
do you want the defenses from a helmet
with escape artist? Uh and that's kind
of a bad choice to make. Uh so you need
a giga helmet in chest to really take
advantage of escape artist. And then
same thing with the over leech from soul
drinker. I don't think it's that
impactful uh on trickster. I think
spellbreaker is a better node because of
how much extra suppression it gives you
now, especially now that they nerfed suppression.
suppression.
And then on the assassin, uh there's not
that many gems that you're going to be
able to use to replace assassin's mark
that are going to make really that big
of a difference for the character, I
don't think. Uh, and then elusive, you
kind of have to pay attention to your
elusive to get the most value out of it.
Because when elusive first procs, that's
when you get your biggest damage bonus
from it. So, if you're not paying
attention to what your elusive uh
percentage is and whether it's about to
fall off or whether it's about to proc,
you might end up like uh missing some
big damage windows. And then I think
assassin overall is the squishiest of
all the choices because it's not going
to have easy access to block. uh it's
not going to have as much energy shield
as a trickster and it's also going to
struggle with PDR compared to the
classes that have better armor and
endurance charge access. So take take
these notes uh as you will for each class.
class.
Quick weapon and defense uh overview for
each class of what weapons they can use
and what kind of defenses they can use.
uh sword uh claw uh axe and then evasion
hybrid armor evasion energy shield
evasion or pure ES. Just pause the video
here if you want to look at this.
A couple more things about the new
league. Bloodlines are the new
ascendancies. They've only shown a
couple, so we don't know which ones are
the best choices yet. I might make a
separate video about this sometime in
the next few days once we uh have access
to all of them. So stay tuned for that.
Graphs are another thing that we don't
know what's going to be best yet because
we haven't seen them all. There's going
to be 16 different uh types that each
have a skill on them that do different
stuff. Uh and then there's going to be
some extra damage power and stuff on
them too, but again can't really say
what's optimal yet. And then foul
uniques. Uh they're also not revealed
yet, at least what the mods are. Uh,
it's probably the case that each item
slot has like its own list of mods. Uh,
so if we can find certain uniques, like
a heat shiver, for example, if you could
get a heat shiver that has chaos resist
on it instead of evasion, for example,
that would be incredibly good. So, we
got to stay tuned for what those mods
are going to be. And that's it. That's
all I wanted to cover in this video.
This was a quick one. I'm excited about
the new league coming up. Uh, if you
guys are going to play Frostblades,
comment down below what ascendency you
think you're going to play. And, uh,
subscribe to the channel, follow the
Twitch, uh, at twitch.tv/zpoe.
And, uh, stay tuned. I'm going to
probably put out a league starter video
probably for Warden. I'm probably going
to play Warden this league uh, and more
Peewee content. That's it. Hope you guys
have fun in the new league. Thanks a lot
