Now, already there are loads of new
bikes rumored for release in 2027. And
so, in this video, I thought I'd round
them all up. We'll go through each of
the major manufacturers alphabetically
with what we might expect for yeah, the
next model year. So, we'll kick off with
Arillia, who almost constantly seem to
be filing patents and designs around
aerodynamics. We had one in our most
recent news episode around some new leg
winglets, for example. And so yeah, for
the next generation of V4s and 660s,
maybe we'll see even more aero
appendages upon their bodies. But I
think the main focus probably for 2027
will be a new Tuare 457 adventure bike.
They've already got the Tuare 660, a
brilliant middleweight adventure bike,
and they've already got the 457 parallel
twin, which is, you know, excellent in
the RS sports bike and the Tuare 457
Naked. So, yeah, a marriage of the two
seems like a no-brainer. It would make
for a great A2 friendly lightweight
adventure bike. And they've even posted
pictures of it on their own accounts.
Um, you know, being tested out in the
desert. So, this one seems like almost
certain for 2027 maybe be announced at
Ikema in November this year. You see,
that mid to small capacity adventure
market is absolutely booming. There's
probably no better example of that than
the new BMW F450GS.
But it's very rare for manufacturers to
invest all that research in developing a
new platform only to go and use it on
one individual bike. So this new 450
twin will more than likely be put to use
in some other applications and one of
them has already been spotted out
testing in India with the 450s being
made there by BMW's partners at TVS.
Previously, they made the 310 models
with a naked, the adventure version, the
GS, and also a sports bike, the RR. And
that's exactly what these latest
pictures appear to show, a 450 version
of that RR model. I think the 310
previously was only sold in India. You
could get the naked here. Uh you could
get the GS version as well, but the
sports bike was an India only offering.
But here's hoping with a bit more
capacity. there'll be more appeal for a
450 version and it could go head-to-head
with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 500
or the KTM RC 390. On top of that
though, you'd have to expect um you know
a naked R version at some point as well.
And the only other bike I'd love to see
from BMW at some point would be a
production version of their R20 concept
Power Cruiser, which they showed a year
or two back. Now, unfortunately, there's
nothing really though to suggest that
that's on the way. no spy shots,
patterns, copyrights, anything like
that. Uh, so I guess that's just a bit
of a wait andsee situation. I think one
of the most impressive developments
though at IKMA in 2025 was perhaps this
new V4 SRR sports bike from CF Moto with
a new V4 engine that they say packs well
over 200 horsepower. It maybe didn't
seem conceivable that um CF Moto might
be able to build something so advanced
so quickly, but it does look the
business. It weighs in at less than 200
kilos and also they say it's got a full
suite of cutting edge tech and also the
latest aerodynamics. So, could it
possibly, you know, come to showrooms
then? Well, it does seem like there's a
chance with a line in the press release
from Ikema saying that this bike serves
as an advanced platform for the
development of future models that will
soon take shape. To me, actually sounds
like a fairly strong possibility. And
so, I'll certainly be swinging by the CF
Moto stand again when it gets to
November this year. Now, one bike that
we know Jucati will certainly be
announcing this year is the new V2
powered version of their Desert X
adventure bike because atma last year at
Motorcycle Live as well uh they had the
prototype on show. That new V2 engine as
well that replaces the elderly Tesla
Streer uh should help to shed a bit of
weight and so one of the best adventure
bikes in that mid to large capacity
class could be about to get even better.
On top of that though, it is Jucati's
centinery this year and so they're
looking to celebrate with lots of
announcements, lots of events as well
and so presumably there'll be at least a
couple of other new bikes in store. One
of them though it seems more than likely
will be an upspec version of their Diavo
V4 Power Cruiser with these design
filings recently reported on by
motorcycle.com. The visuals are slightly
updated. It looks more modern, perhaps a
bit more aggressive. if they've changed
the shape of the wheels as well, but
also it looks like it's got a slightly
bigger TFT dash. And also perhaps most
revealing is that it's got semi-active
electronic suspension. You can see the
wiring coming out of the top of the
forks there. And that semi-active
suspension is normally a feature that
you'll typically find on their S models.
So things like the Panagali or the
Street Fighter or the Multistrader. And
so perhaps we could be about to see a
new Diabl.
Now, Harley-Davidson's 2025 financial
results didn't make for particularly
pleasant reading, and so maybe it's time
for a bit of a change, and that's kind
of what they were promising. In an
earnings call last August with their
former CEO, he said, "Scheduled for
release in 2026 and for presentation to
our global dealer network in October,
I'm pleased to share that we're
targeting an entry price of below $6,000.
$6,000.
This new bike embodies boldness,
irreverence, and fun, capturing the
rebellious energy that defines the
Harley-Davidson experience. Now, they
have sold more affordable bikes in Asia
for some years now. They've got the 440,
I think a 350 as well, but it sounds
like they could be about to make either
those bikes globally available or at
least something similar in terms of
pricing. It's believed the first one
will be called the Sprint and so
potentially this could broaden the
appeal of the brand and also provide an
entry point for newer riders. It
certainly worked in recent memory for
the likes of Triumph with their new
400s. And so yeah, it could be um a lot
more affordable than the current
cheapest Harley, which I believe is the
Nightster at just under 10 grand here in
the UK. On top of that though, he also
said in 2026 that they'd be introducing
a new iconic cruiser and that one's
rumored to be called the Eagle and it's
believed to be a replacement for the
liquid called Sportsters which have been
a bit of a flop let's say since they
were introduced a couple of years back.
Now I will say since all of this the CEO
has actually changed. So Yoken Zites
left. They've now got Arty Stars. Is it
the um former Pizza Hut bloke? And so
maybe some of these promises are set to
change. But personally, I'd be really
keen to see something new in the next
year or so from Harley. Normally their
annual announcements are just like a a
bit of a shuffle around of specs and
existing features and new colors on
their, you know, traditional cruisers
and tours and stuff like that. So
something genuinely new would be
definitely of interest. Over at Honda
though, well, they recently filed a
patent for a lowcost simple electric
motorcycle. So expect a commuting kind
of electric bike from them at some
point. But I think more of us can
probably get more excited about their V3
concept. Now, it's an unusual
configuration, the two cylinders at the
front, the one at the back. It's also
backed up by an eco compressor up top as
well, so you've got forced induction.
and it's 900cc in capacity, but with
that e-co compressor, they actually say
it gives you more like 1,200 levels of
performance. On top of that, with just a
single cylinder at the back, it's very
slim in the waist, and so they say it
makes for great ergonomics, and they're
fairly adamant that they're going to be
putting it into production. We saw the
um concept bike at IKMA in November,
just gone, and I think I'm not the only
one who's keenly waiting for the next
step in this particular project. Then
also for Honda, we had the recent
announcement for China of their new
super 4 models. So there's a naked,
there's a sports bike as well. And if
you like small capacity revline fours,
then these two could really hit the
mark. Both are expected to be rolled out
globally at some point because they've
copyrighted the names in many markets
across the globe. And so yeah, there's
nothing so far, but another one to watch
out for in the coming few months. Now,
not much for Husvana at the moment. It's
been a hard couple of years for KTM, so
I'd expect it to be a quiet one for the
smaller brands in their group. But that
brings us swiftly on to Indian, who
recently moved over to a new owner, this
private equity group called Carolwood, I
believe, uh, after being sold off by
Polaris. That gave the new owners a bit
of a chance to have a reset. They did a
call, a press briefing last week in
which they were going to announce their
new strategy. And if you're expecting
anything particularly exciting or new
from them, then you might have come away
from that sorely disappointed. He says
they're going to double down on the
cruisers, the baggers, the tours as
well. And the only real thing that they
did mention that was new is maybe that
they'll be bringing out a trike. So I
guess there's that to look forward to if
that's your sort of thing. I've got
nothing against trikes, but it's not the
most exciting thing they could have
announced. And so we'll move on to
Kawasaki who are expected to follow upon
their hybrid motorcycles with
potentially a new hybrid scooter. Now
the hybrids that they did introduce the
Z Naked and the um Ninja sports bike
version I believe have been really quite
unpopular or at least you know if the
prices in dealers are anything to go by.
Uh where you'll frequently see them
pretty much at half price even though
they're brand new. Maybe though, you
know, hybrid tech, being able to use the
electric motor at lower speeds and then
uh the petrol engine when things speed
up a bit is better suited to commuting
where you do have a lot of slower town
work, but maybe a bit of a road just to
get home. And so potentially in that
case, you know, a new hybrid maxi
scooter actually might be more of a
success. KTM though are said to be
working on a new 490 parallel twin in
partnership with Bajage who currently
make all of their bikes in India from
390 and below. Now the 390s use a single
cylinder but recently more of the
competition in this sort of segment of
started to use twins like the BMW 450,
the Arilia 457 and the CF Moto 450 as
well. So yeah, a move up to a twin might
be a smart move for KTM in order to sort
of match them. And already spotted out
testing, there's been an RC 490 sports
bike. So that could be the first of
many. And I'd expect if they do roll it
out that a 490 Juke Naked would follow
and potentially the more off-road bikes
like the 390 Adventure and 390 Enduro.
You never know, you might get a twin of
those as well. On top of that, we
recently shared some spy shots as well
of a tweaked 790 Juke. new styling with
the more modern angular headlight that
you'll see in the rest of the KTM family
and also uh new brakes as well from
their in-house brand WP. Formerly WP
have been solely focused on suspension.
Uh but they've just moved into braking
and so we'll probably see more and more
WP branded brakes over the next few
months on new KTM models. Now, it's some
time ago that we first saw these spy
shots of a retro version of Arillia's
457 and with them being part of the same
Pio group and also with some of the
styling cues like the tank shape. Well,
it was very much thought to be a baby
moto gutsy branded retro, but for some
reason it never materialized. I mean,
this is like 2 3 years back that we
first saw this. Uh, so maybe they've
canned it. Maybe the modern engine and
chassis didn't quite come together with
the more typically traditional Mozy
looks. Or maybe it's the fact that Moto
Gutsy are currently going through a big
renovation of their factory. I mean, the
457s are built in India, but perhaps
there's some disruption to development
and that sort of thing, and so I guess
there's a small chance that this bike
might still be in the works. The factory
is set to reopen in September this year
though and it'll include a new visitor
experience so you can tour the
production line and so I might just have
to make a case for a trip out to Italy
to check that out in the name of um
serious journalism. Now, another one of
my favorite developments from Ikema, I
think, was MV Augusta's new engine,
which is a a very unusual configuration
in the form of a fivecylinder with three
cylinders up front in the front bank and
then two at the rear. They say they
could make versions down at 850 for more
of a middle weight all the way up to
1150 for like a proper performance
model. And they reckon in that 1150
guys, it will be capable of making more
than 240 horsepower. Uh so it really
could be a force to be reckoned with.
They do say as well it is a real project
with a full intention to uh take it to
production. And so while I probably
wouldn't expect a finished bike anytime
this year, perhaps we'll see the next
version or you know a version of the
engine in a concept bike. Then the other
thing to look out for is maybe a more
affordable version of their new 950
Brutali which was released at Ikema in
its seroro version which is what they
always do when they're they've got a new
platform. They give it like the full
works in terms of the finish and it's
the most expensive seroro to kind of
introduce this new bike. But I reckon
this one if it was more affordable could
be a really good road bike. The 950 is a
little more torquy than previous
Brutalis. Uh they've stretched out the
chassis as well for a bit more
stability. They've sat up the riding
position so it isn't so aggressive and
yet it still retains probably a bit of
that MV Augusta excitement. And it
definitely does retain the um MV Augusta
daring, let's say in the looks. So yeah,
hoping a nonerior version is announced
at some point this year. That that's
normally the case with things like the
Super Veoce for example. But two bikes
that I think are pretty much nailed on
for IKEA 2026 would be from Royal
Enfield, who we've known have been
working on, a larger 750 version of
their current 650 twin. It's expected to
be first put to use in a Continental GT
Cafe racer and also a bigger 750
Himalayan. And both of them have been
shown off as prototypes at various
points over the past 6 months. So yeah,
I I'll be very surprised if we don't see
these in the next 6 months or so. Now,
Suzuki were recently interviewed by um
MCN at Ikema and one of the interesting
things that they said was that they've
seen the success of these small to
midcapacity bikes, the 350s, the 400s,
450s and stuff like that. And so, at
some point, you know, they're keen to
get involved in the action. Now, one of
the possibilities that we've covered on
a previous news show is a retro sort of
scrambler bike, but based upon their
current 400 single uh that they use in
their DRZ. So, the SM super motor and
also the S sort of dual sport. Thing is
though, these were mocked up by Wee Bike
Japan and I'm not really sure where they
got their information from. It wasn't
quite clear to me from the article. They
could just be speculative Photoshop jobs
perhaps. You know, a bit of a long shot
that they'll come out looking anything
like these. Um, but all the same, that
intention to make a small Suzuki is
legit because of that interview. So
maybe we will see a road bike on that
single cylinder platform at some point
fairly soon. Last week I posted some new
spy shots of an updated Triumph Speed
Twin 1200 and it it's significant this
update. There are some really quite big
changes like the fact that it doesn't
have a steel cradle frame. The frame
kind of ends uh around the top of the
engine and uses the engine as a stress
member, but then also no twin shocks. So
it appears as though it uses a monoshock
instead. Now, Triumph seemed determined
to make the Speed Twin more and more
performant, but it does come a little
bit at the cost of the looks. It's
become less and less of a Bonavville
style bike, and so it certainly be
interesting to see if they do follow
through with this one as to whether it
pays off with a better handling bike
that can carry a little bit less weight,
too. On top of that though, do expect
updates at some point for both the Tiger
900 lineup and the 1200 lineup with both
of them spied with updates including you
know sharper visuals uh but also a
front-facing radar. So if you've ever
fancied a Tiger but absolutely can't
live without active cruise control for
example uh then your luck at some point
in the next few months uh might be about
to change. Rounding off though, we've
got Yamaha who also gave some clues to
MCN at IKEMA with their European
president saying that the R1 could at
some point make a comeback. Now, it was
recently discontinued in um Europe and
the UK owing to stricter emissions
regulations. There just isn't enough
demand in the sports bike market to make
it worthwhile updating. But he does say
in this piece that um you know the
sports bike market has started to
improve a bit and he believes that's
been driven by the success of the middle
weights. So for them it'll be like the R
seven and the new R9. What they do say
though is that it couldn't just be a
revived version of the current R1 with
the latest emissions regs, you know,
factored in. It would have to be some
sort of meaningful improvement in terms
of performance. And so given that
they've just started running a a V4
engine in Moto GP to make themselves
more competitive, it does make you
wonder whether they've got plans to
bring that to the road. Now, in the same
interview, they also said that a bigger
version of their 108 adventure bike
could also be on the cards using their
CP3 900cc inline triple that you
currently find in like the M09 and also
the Tracer 9 Sports Tourer. He said,
"Enginegineers are working on this
currently, and when we do go there, uh,
we don't want to compromise. If we go
with the CP3 engine one day for the
Tennere, it has to have 18 and 21in
wheels. It has to be a real off-road
machine." So, the question is now, can
we make something with the CP3 platform
that doesn't damage the DNA of that
Tenner name? And you've got to say, it's
got a great reputation as an off-roader.
And so, uh, it's quite understandable
that they wouldn't want to compromise on
that. On top of that, they've also been
working on the hybrid space with a
concept of a modified M09 that
accommodates, say, an electric motor and
a battery as well as that CP3 triple.
And like I say, it didn't go
particularly well for Kawasaki, but
maybe Yamaha can do something a little
different with it. So, I have to wait
and see. Anyway, as always, I'd love to
know which bike you'd most like to see
hit the market down in the comments
below. So, do let me know. As always,
