0:09 your brain is the most powerful weapon
0:12 in the world once you put away your
0:14 phones and your computers and all that
0:16 we have nowadays that's great
0:19 we're up-to-date you know you but your
0:22 brain is the only thing you have when
0:25 you're going through depression when
0:27 you're going through hard times you're
0:30 going through death real life you can't
0:33 Google that man you're alone you're
0:35 alone you may have a shrink you're going
0:37 to you may have a best friend you going
0:40 to but there's 24 hours in the day where
0:42 you're alone in this brain and your
0:44 brain is talking to you in all kind of
0:46 ways and it wants to control you and
0:48 pull you in these different pockets if
0:51 you can't control your own brain and
0:54 your brain controls you you're you got
0:55 to tell your brain where you want to go
0:57 and how you want to go and how you want
0:59 to get there you got to control it if
1:01 not it's over
1:05 but existed for me was okay man how am I
1:08 gonna make this work and all I knew back
1:12 then was hard work the only way anything
1:14 gets accomplished that's all I heard
1:16 back in those days you got to work hard
1:19 you got to work hard I'm not getting how
1:22 did I can't get this paragraph I can't
1:24 remember what this paragraph to pass
1:26 this test to get the military breathe again
1:26 again
1:29 I'm still not getting it read again but
1:31 it's not getting it write it out and now
1:34 I started learning okay well I can't I
1:37 gotta write out everything I do and then
1:38 write it out again and write it out
1:41 again and guess what happened I got it I
1:43 got it
1:45 I can't swim I'm negative buoyant go
1:48 back again I can't swim go back again go
1:53 back again go back again I got it I
1:56 realize if I keep going back and going
1:59 back and going back until this just
2:03 becomes your mind was safe okay we're
2:06 gonna figure it out because he is not
2:09 going to stop it's like I'm gonna try
2:12 one more time no I'm gonna it's just
2:15 like long clock goes off Boop we're
2:17 going back I can't read right we're
2:19 going back
2:21 I gave myself no way out and my mind
2:23 realized that they said okay we're gonna
2:28 adapt and overcome now like a lot of
2:32 people say trying hard they your mind
2:35 knows man it knows this guy's bull guys
2:38 lying there's no truth behind it when I
2:39 was a Navy SEAL training people oh how
2:42 are you there for 18 months the program
2:43 is always six months long you were in
2:46 three hell weeks in one year no one's
2:48 ever done that how did you do that I
2:51 talked about the new norm when I lived
2:53 in the $7 a month place and I was
2:55 growing up for a short period of time I
2:58 loved it I don't know you know any
3:01 different that was my norm once we move
3:04 down that place we moved to $236 month
3:06 place I was like I never want to go back
3:11 to that little pieces but if you go back
3:14 to that seven dollar month place and you
3:16 realize this is where I live
3:19 that's all I got your mind says Roger
3:21 that this is home so when I was going to
3:24 Navy SEAL training for 18 months and
3:27 going back through all the hard part's
3:31 over and over again I told myself after
3:32 the first time I knew this could be a
3:34 long journey there my body was breaking
3:37 down it was it was just how it was going
3:39 on I see know what this is my new normal
3:41 so my mind said is that going to work
3:43 like you go to work you put your suit I
3:46 on I'm going to suffering every day
3:49 every day suffering being broken duct
3:51 taping my feet up stress fracture shin
3:54 splints being broken this is my new norm
3:57 and your mind says if we're not broken
4:01 just say normal we got to be broken so
4:03 then your mind starts to get tougher and
4:05 tougher and more cast people huh how did
4:08 you run on broken feet broken broken
4:11 shins my mind knew this is how we
4:14 operate we're a Navy SEAL training this
4:18 is what we are I health and that became
4:20 my new norm I gave myself no way out
4:22 there was nothing outside these walls of
4:26 hell nothing I became I love God but for
4:28 a short period of time I became the
4:30 devil because that was hell
4:33 I became I became the boss the owner the
4:36 CEO of Navy SEAL training that was my
4:38 mindset and that's how you get through
4:41 things you put yourself you immerse
4:44 yourself wherever it is you become that
4:46 you become that and give yourself
4:50 nowhere yeah when I was tours in 97
4:52 pounds and I was fat as hell trying to
4:55 be a Navy SEAL the scariest thing in the
4:58 world to me even to this day was that
4:59 that could have been the rest of my life
5:04 I thought then I was trying hard that's
5:05 the scariest thing in the world I
5:09 thought then two or 97-pound working for
5:11 Ecolab's spraying for cockroaches making
5:15 $1,000 a month I thought that was me at
5:20 my 100% potential come to find out a few
5:25 years later I wasn't even near that 106
5:27 pounds less graduating Navy SEAL
5:28 training we don't do all these other
5:31 things looking back on that that was me
5:34 trying hard that's why people got
5:38 understand what is in us we have no idea
5:41 until we start trying hard and I mean
5:43 really trying hard where you're obsessed
5:47 with hey this is my new norm my new norm
5:50 is that wow this isn't always fun it's
5:54 not always meant to be fun and that's
5:56 when you know you're trying hard
5:58 people hear my story and think this
6:02 guy's sadistic I realize how the how the
6:05 brain works I figured out how the brain
6:09 works I'm a scared kid and that's what
6:10 gives me so much power
6:14 I had no foundation and I built this off
6:18 of just researching the mind the feeling
6:23 you get is basically invincibility you
6:27 realize that you can't do it all the
6:30 time when you need to do it I know I can
6:33 go to a place that I can live in and
6:37 when you know that you can run on broken
6:39 legs and you can do certain things that
6:41 a lot of people can do but they're not
6:45 willing to do this power this
6:47 sympathetic nervous system of fight or
6:51 flight and you're fighting it gives you
6:54 this charge of energy over when you're
6:55 sitting there at 3:30 4:00 o'clock in
6:57 the morning and you're duct taping your
7:00 feet up because they're broken and
7:03 you're doing it by yourself and you're
7:05 going to do arguably one of the hardest
7:07 training in the world and these guys
7:09 most of them are healthy and you're
7:12 going through it broken and you already
7:15 at a disadvantage but you're still there
7:18 you can feed into that and tap into that
7:21 for a lot of power but if you look at it
7:24 while I'm broken man like I'm not gonna
7:27 make it if you look at it as man I'm
7:29 broken and I'm still here and I'm
7:31 fighting and I'm gonna find a way to get
7:33 through this because I have no other
7:37 place to go it gives you a lot of power
7:41 when things start to suck really really
7:45 bad my brain and a lot of people's brain
7:47 DUP they don't go to your dad beating
7:50 you up your brain says win it right here
7:54 this is miserable so anger goes away a
7:56 lot of times when you're suffering
7:58 because your brain that says we got a
8:01 run we got to go so that anger is not
8:03 popping up saying oh I'm gonna
8:06 show them I want to show those people no
8:09 there has to be a much deeper if I say
8:12 deeper it has to be down to mineral
8:16 mineral soil it has to be down to that
8:18 nice mineral soil where nothing can burn
8:23 you can't burn dirt so it has to be down
8:26 that low that literally is submenu
8:28 that's at the core your soul
8:32 and but you but you don't find it unless
8:35 you spend a lot of time with what you
8:38 want to be in life you I can't give that
8:40 to you right you can't give it to
8:43 somebody when when you find your true
8:45 passion in life and my passion for me
8:47 when like I want to be now given my Navy
8:49 SEALs I mean roundish I want to serve my
8:52 country I cared about I want to be
8:55 someone that I'm proud of I want to look
8:57 at myself in American I was so disappointed
8:58 disappointed
9:00 that accountability man I talked about I
9:04 was so disappointed in what I saw every day
9:04 day
9:07 I want everybody to love David Goggins
9:12 and a lot of people did I didn't love myself
9:13 myself
9:16 but I knew a lot of us want to find
9:19 peace first so gonna say man you always
9:20 talk about this suffering and pain
9:23 --is-- I'm at peace right now because
9:25 I'm going to do that you don't find
9:28 peace first if you do Merry Christmas
9:31 more power to you more power to you
9:36 I found peace on the opposite end of
9:40 finding myself and no one really finds
9:43 himself without going through trials
9:46 tribulations suffering accountability
9:50 and accountability is suffering being
9:53 accountable every day for doing right
9:55 for yourself for the people next to you
9:58 it's miserable it's hard so you know
