Core Theme
This message explores the concept of making God happy, shifting the focus from human happiness to divine pleasure. It argues that God experiences sadness due to human actions and outlines ways individuals can bring Him joy through obedience, faith, love for His word, and a blameless walk.
[Music]
Uh good evening all of you. Uh so glad
to meet you all again after uh three
long months. Uh praise God for what uh
the Lord has been doing in our midst, in
our personal lives, in our family life
and in our ministerial aspects. uh how
God has been teaching us very precious
truths and uh he's enabling us also uh
to spread the truths everywhere so that
the church of Jesus Christ might be
edified and the people of God everywhere
would be richly blessed and drawn near
to God and his word. So this evening
before u I give the talk that uh under
God I have prepared we'll just bow heads
before God in prayer. Gracious heavenly
father we thank you for your goodness
and mercies and loving kindness which we
have so abundantly and exuberantly and
exceedingly have been enjoying until
this moment in our lives. We pray Lord
that this evening meditation shall be
pleasing in your sight and also be
acceptable to you. We pray that everyone
who has joined this program this evening
will be Lord edified, encouraged and
enriched and equipped and energized. And
we pray that your unseen hand shall be
with each of us as we turn to your holy
word. In Jesus name we pray. Amen. Amen. Amen.
Amen.
So I praise God for giving me this
privilege to share God's word uh with
you this evening.
Um now we have heard so many sermons and
we have read so many articles and also
so many books on how to be happy. How to
be happy. But today uh my topic is on
the other side of the coin. It's not how
to be happy but how to make God happy.
Say that again. How to make God happy.
Now that's the title of my talk tonight.
Is God sad? Then
of course he is. Now I'd like to take
your attention to at least 10 scriptural
references in the Bible which speak of
God's um sadness. The first instance as
all of us would instantly and
immediately recollect is the sixth verse
of the sixth chapter of Genesis. I'm
sure that all of you have your Bibles.
Please turn to the references. Don't
just be listening. Just also see for
yourselves whether things are so.
Genesis 6 and 6.
The Lord was sorry that he had made man
on the earth and he was grieved in his
heart. Look at the strong words. The
Lord was sorry
and he was grieved in heart. This I
believe is the saddest verse in the Bible.
Bible.
The next saddest verse is John 6:66.
His disciples
left him and walked with him no more. So
Genesis 66 of the Old Testament and John
666 of the New Testament are perhaps the
saddest recording concerning our dear Lord.
Lord.
Now the sorrow of God that we come
across in Genesis 6:6 is relating to us.
Of all that happens in the universe, we
we
men and women are those who make God unhappy.
unhappy.
God's sadness
instead of gladness
must deeply hurt us also.
It must not be taken lightly.
Now the second reference is in 1st
Samuel 5th chap 15th chapter and the
11th verse. Now most of the verses that
I have showed to you you would already
know but we are just putting them as a
string together. 1 Samuel 15th chapter
and the 11th verse.
This is what God spoke to Samuel.
I greatly regret that I have set up Saul
as king,
for he has turned back from following me
and has not performed my commandments.
And it grieved Samuel also and he cried
out to the Lord all night. See the verse
that God uses, I greatly regret.
So this speaks of God's sorrow over
leadership over his people.
The entire chapter of book of Ezekiel 34
is about God's worry over the shepherds
of his people who have not properly
shepherded God's people.
The third reference is perhaps in Psalm
chapter 95 and verse 10. Psalm 95 and
verse 10. This is also a very familiar
words to all of us.
For 40 years I was grieved with that generation
generation
and said it's a people who go astray in
their hearts and they do not know my
words for 40 years. I was grieved with
that generation. You know sometimes we
become so unhappy and we are sorrow
chicken and that goes on for one hour or
one day and at the maximum one week but
for 40 long years God was grieved in his
heart. Now the New Testament reference
for this is in Hebrews 3rd chapter 101.
You can just refer to it at leisure. And
the fourth reference is in book of Isaiah
Isaiah
chapter 5 the first four verses. Isaiah
5 and the first four verses. Let me sing
to my well-beloved. You know the wellbeloved
wellbeloved
a song of my beloved regarding his
vineyard. My wellbeloved has a vineyard
on a very fruitful hill. He dug up and
cleared out its stones and planted it
with a choices wine. He built a tower in
its mist and also made a wine press in
it. So he expected it to bring forth
good grapes but it brought forth wild
sour grapes. And now oh inhabitant of
Jerusalem and men of Judah see God is
pleading judge please between me and my
vineyard. You know why should God plead
with man and say please so much he was
grip chicken. Please judge between me
and my vineyard. What more could have
been done to my vineyard that I have not
learn in it? Why then when I expected it
to bring forth good grapes, did it bring
wild sour grapes?
Judah is his present plant. As we read
in the seventh verse, the vineyard of
the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel
and the men of Judah are his pleasant
plant. What does it mean? It's a
seedling which God has planted for his
pleasure, for his happiness, for his
joy, for him to enjoy. But that has
totally disappointed him.
Now the fifth reference is in book of
Mark now because that is carried over to
the New Testament. Not only in the Old
Testament, Jehovah of the Old Testament,
but we have the same problem there as
Jesus faces in the New Testament pages.
Book of Mark third chapter and the fifth
verse. Mark 3 and five. Well, these
things really deeply when I was
preparing this message deeply hurt me. 3
and five. You know here was a man who
had a withered hand and that was a
Sabbath day. You know when that man had
a withered hand so Jesus just asked him
and healed him. But these fellows they
started saying how could you kill him on
Sabbath and they started accusing him
and you looked at the five word fifth
verse when Jesus had looked around at
them with anger
being grieved by the hardness of their hearts.
hearts.
you know, anger and grief simultaneously
at the same time over the hardness of
their heart, sticking to legalism,
giving no place for mercy whatsoever.
And the sixth reference is again in ma
Mark's gospel 7th chapter and verse 34.
Mark 7 and verse 34. Here was a man who
was both deaf and dumb. And 34th verse,
Jesus looking up to heaven. He sighed
deeply. What does it mean?
He sighed deeply
with grave
sighed gravely and said to him, "Your father
father
be opened."
Now, why did he say that?
He understood
what the disobedience
of the first parents
has cost the entire human race.
Come to the seventh reference uh that we
are all very familiar with. That's the
story of Lazarus. Luke's go John's
gospel 11th chapter. Uh look at verseh 33.
33.
John now I'm turning to all the
references so sometimes it takes time
but doesn't matter that is how we should
study the Bible. John 11 and verse 33.
When Jesus saw her weeping, that was
Mary, Martha, all the sisters and Jews
who came with him weeping, he groaned in
the spirit
and was troubled.
And he said, "Where have you laid him?"
They said to him, "Lord, come and see." Jesus
Jesus wept.
wept.
the shortest
but at the same time the sweetest
statement in the whole Bible
because that speaks of the compassionate
nature of our beloved savior.
And again
in verse 38
Jesus again groaning in himself groaning
you know
He groaned again coming near the tomb
is God sad?
Of course yes.
The eighth reference in Luke's gospel
19th verse
and verse 41.
This happened on the Palm Sunday.
People were all rejoicing in a
celebration mode
with all their palm leaves and waving
and shouting
and all that. Blessed be the one who
comes in the name of the Lord. They had
a celebration mode.
But Jesus
was different.
As he drew near,
he saw the city
and wept over it. I think this is what
Jesus does today
concerning all our modern cities
with all their advancements of
technological, scientific, everything.
he weeps.
Jesus wept
because cities even today are filled
Jesus weeps.
Now that takes us to the garden of Gethsemane.
Gethsemane.
There are three references you can note
down in Matthew 26
37 and 38.
He was exceedingly sorrowful
and deeply distressed.
distressed.
No exaggeration here friend.
And Mark 14:33 and 34,
he was deeply distressed
and exceedingly sorrowful.
And Luke puts it differently. Luke 22:14,
22:14,
in agony,
he was sweating blood. I don't think
anyone of us uh have seen anyone
sweating blood. We have seen people
sweating profusely
but we have not seen anybody sweating blood.
That was agony
at its highest tallest
tallest
and deepest form
form
sweating blood in agony. Finally,
Finally,
we have to come to Isaiah 53rd chapter
where we have the suffering savior.
That's a chapter which every one of us
like so much but we should believe it.
That's why that chapter begins with a
question who has believed our report.
It is possible only by the arm of the
lord being revealed. It's a revelation.
You understand book of Isaiah 53rd
chapter not just believing you have to
have a revelation to whom is the arm of
the Lord revealed.
Only by revelation we can have a proper
faith and understanding of Isaiah 53.
Look at the third and the fourth verses.
He is despised and rejected by men.
A man of sorrows.
What a name. What a name. a man of sorrows
sorrows
and acquainted with grief. I don't think
anyone of us is acquainted with grief.
Occasionally we get gripped. All right.
But he was acquainted. That was the
order of his way life and order of every
day in his sen on this sinful earth.
And then in verse four, surely
surely
he has borne our griefs,
carried our sorrows. That means there's
a transfer.
He knows that we can't afford to be just
carrying our sorrows and griefs
any longer anymore. It's too much for us.
us.
So he carried our sorrows
and he bore our griefs.
As we read in 2 Corinthians 5th chapter
21st verse,
he who knew no sin,
he was made sin for us.
like that Jesus who came down to this earth
earth
from a lofty heaven
where there is only blessing and bliss
and everything joy, joy, unspeakable
He came down to this earth
and he became a man of sorrows. He
became sin and he also became a man of sorrows.
Is God sad?
Yes, very much. Yes.
Is he sad today? Conditions have not
changed much.
Yes, God is sad.
Now, that introduction
takes us to the title of this talk.
How to make God happy?
happy?
Now let's see how we can gladden a God
who is saddened.
I have noted down 10 ways by which
we can make God happy. Hopefully
Hopefully
we'll finish all the 10 today. If not
we will assemble another day.
How to make God happy.
Number one.
By obeying God
we make him happy. Say that again.
By obeying God
we make him happy.
Come to one of the
five books of Moses. Even book of Deuteronomy
Deuteronomy
30th chapter
and verses 9 and 10.
Deuteronomy 30
9 and 10.
See how God opens up the heart to all of
us. Now that is what is important. You
know God doesn't hide his feelings from
us. Now that's what I have found during
my study of this topic. God doesn't
hide. He t he openly
expresses what he feels
because only then he can come close to
us. Look at Deuteronomy 30th chapter and
the 9th verse. The Lord your God will
make you abound in all the work of your
hand, in the fruit of your body and the
increase of your livestock and in the
produce of your land for good. For the
Lord will again rejoice over you. Look
at that words. It is not that you will
rejoice but the Lord will rejoice over you.
you.
you obey the voice of the Lord your God
and keep his commandments and his statutes
statutes
which are written in this book of the law.
law.
Obey his voice, not the audible voice.
Look at that.
What is written in this book? I often
used to say if you read the Bible for
half an hour, that means God has spoken
to you for half an hour.
It's not just a a word written on I mean
printed on black and white on a piece of
paper. No,
half an hour you read the Bible that
means 30 minutes you have been listening
to the voice of God. Never ever say I
read the Bible but God doesn't speak to
me. That's nonsense.
The word of God is the voice of God.
That's what here we read.
Obey the voice of the Lord
which is written in the book of this law.
Now every time you read the Bible
beloved you must ask three questions
I think I am repeating it empty number
of times.
Number one what does this passage tell
about God?
Number two
what does this passage tell about me myself?
myself? Thirdly,
Thirdly,
what does this passage tell
what I must do?
Without asking this question even
naturally, even unconsciously
by default I don't think we can get the
full benefit of our Bible reading or
Bible study or Bible meditation.
Now we come to Isaiah
first chapter
and the 11th verse.
Isaiah 111.
Now the here the truth is given in a
negative side.
He says to what purpose is the multitude
of your sacrifices to me?
I had enough of burnt offerings and rams
and the fat of fat fed to cattle. I do
not delight in the blood of bulls or of
lambs or of goats. I do not delight. In
other words, I'm sad. No, I don't like
it. I'm not pleased with it.
And come to the 13th verse.
You are giving incense.
But it's an abomination to me. Who said
it sweet? It is abomination. It's a bad
smell, bad order.
The new moon, the Sabbath, the calling
of assemblies.
I cannot endure your sacred meeting.
Yeah. Oh, I'm tired. I say
throw away these things. I don't like
them. Put in the words. They are a
trouble to me. Every time you gather,
every time you make offering, you are
troubling me. You are thinking that you
are making me glad. No, you are making
me absolutely sad.
Beloved, we cannot appease God.
Underline that word.
We cannot appease God
with our offerings or whatever we do,
even service.
If we are not obeying him,
he's not so cheap to be appeased by some
bribery. No,
you can't grease his palms. No,
only obedience will make him happy.
That's why David
in his very famous
confession psalm
most of us must have memorized it and we
know it by heart even our kids.
Psalm 51
16 and 17.
You do not desire sacrifice. If you had
desired I would have given it. I am a
king. I could have given you thousands
and thousands of sacrifices
and you do not delight in burnt
offerings either. No delight, no joy.
You don't rejoice over.
But what you need
is a broken spirit and a contrite heart.
That you will not despise, but that over
which you would delight.
So beloved, there is no substitute for
obedience to what God has commanded us
to do.
Now that was the secret of the life of Jesus
Jesus
when he entered the earth. Come with me
to book of Hebrews. A very classic
passage. I really don't know who wrote
book of Hebrews. So that's one of the
questions I would like to ask when I
reach heaven. Who wrote book of Hebrews?
because it is still kept a top secret.
Hebrews 10th chapter reading from verse
5. When Jesus came into the world that
is when he exited heaven and entered earth
earth
he is telling his father this is his
parable at this
sacrifice and offering you not desire
you not
but your body you have prepared for me
in burnt offerings and sacrifices
you had no pleasure you are not pleased
with it.
Then I said,
"Behold, I have come
in the volume of book." Oh, what Jesus
meant was the 39 books of the Old
Testament. So he says book in the volume
of book
it is written about me. From Genesis to
What will I do?
Behold, I come
to do your will, oh God.
Now, what's application?
I told you a little while ago, when you
read the Bible, ask three questions.
What does it tell about God? And what
does it tell about myself? What does it
say that I should do?
So in the volume Jesus had 39 books. We
have 66 books. In the volume of the 66
book is written about us.
He tells us what we must do and what we
must not do.
And we must say every time you open the
Bible, oh Lord, behold I come. I open
And the father was totally pleased about
this commitment, this consecration
and this was continuous nonstop without
So the father said this
he is my not son
not just a begotten son
he is my beloved son.
in whom not just pleased, I am well pleased.
Now God the father said it twice in the
gospels if you had carefully ever
noticed it. One he said at his baptism
when he just walked out of the waters of
baptism as he was baptized by John the Baptist
Baptist
the voice came from heaven.
This is my beloved son in whom I am well
pleased. He has taken a step of
obedience. If there is one person who
doesn't need to be baptized in the world
is Jesus. What is there for him to
repent? What sin has to repent of? And
what is there he has to believe? He
doesn't need to repent and he doesn't
need to believe anything.
>> The only person who doesn't need water
baptism in the world is Jesus.
But he took that step. Why? Even John
the Baptist said no no no. That is not
fair. But Jesus said, "This is how I
should just obey.
>> This is how I should fulfill all the
righteousness of God."
And the second time that God spoke this
voice, spoke these words was at his
transfiguration, the mount of transfiguration
transfiguration
that we read in book of Matthew 17th
chapter and the fifth verse.
Behold my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.
pleased.
Obeying God
makes him happy.
I urge you dear friends
to read my book to obey is better.
To obey is better.
How to make God happy?
Number two,
by believing on him, we make God happy.
Say that again.
By believing,
excuse me,
my throat gets dried up too soon, too often.
Sorry.
How to make God happy?
Uh look at Hebrews 11th chapter and the
sixth verse. A very familiar verse to
all of us. We all know that verse by
heart. 116 of Hebrews. Now this is a
faith chapter as we all know. Without
faith it is impossible to please him.
Impossible means impossible.
Not possible.
But by faith you can please God. Make
him happy.
Now there are two things that we need to
notice here.
Immediately after making the statement
without faith it is impossible to please
God. The writer of the Hebrews epistle
goes to speak about Noah in seventh
verse and Abraham in the eighth verse. I
was looking at it why Noah and Abraham come
come
already in the fourth and fifth verses
Abel and Enoch were there. Why didn't
this verse come as the third verse and
then uh fourth verse is Abel and fifth
have you ever tried to find out why God
begins with Noah and Abraham? No, not
with Abel and Ench who also pleased God.
See, those two people,
Abel and Enoch,
never heard from God as to what they
should do according to the biblical record.
record.
But it was Abraham
to whom God said do this.
It was to Nah, Noah that God said do this.
this. Obedience.
And here it is impossible to please God
without faith.
And what faith should that be? Two
things we are to believe.
For sixth verse, he who comes to God
must believe that he is. The first thing
we need to believe is God is
See how often
our mind is bombarded with the question
I don't know about you but my mind is
often very often perhaps
of course people ask non-Christian ask
as we read in the book of Psalms the
Gentiles ask where is your God that's okay
okay
but even Christians believers or fellow
Christians fellow workers they ask where
is heart
and our own heart. My soul ask where is God?
You know this is the reason why God was
grieved and angry
with the people of Israel.
Turn with me again to the same book of
Hebrews. Hebrews has got tremendous
things to tell us. Third chapter I read
from 16 to 19. A long passage but let me
read it for you.
These people having heard they rebelled.
17th verse. With whom was he
angry for 40 years.
And come to verse 19.
So we see
that they could not enter in
because of unbelief.
Shall I tell you something? Maybe it's a
good news or a bad news, but take it.
The only reason
why anybody would go to hell
is unbelief.
but it is not any of those 100 sins that
will land him in hell.
What will landing him in hell is
unbelief. That's why Jesus said, "Go and
preach the gospel to every creature. He
who believes and is baptized shall be
saved. And he who does not believe is
condemned already."
So faith is um
neither simple but it is very serious.
Not only the people of Israel disbelieve
the Israelites
had two leaders.
They are very beloved to us.
One was Moses
and the other was Aaron.
Come with me to meet these giants
in book of numbers 20th chapter
and 11th 12th word sorry.
Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron
two top leaders.
One received messenger from God and
other conveyed that message to go people.
people.
Aaron was Moses uh mouthpiece spokesperson
spokesperson
the 12th verse. Then the Lord spoke to
Moses and Aaron
because you did not believe me.
Underline that word. Underline that.
Underline underline that. Underline underline.
underline.
One reason.
Hey, I have been suffering so much with
these people for 40 long years and you
trained me for 40 years in the
wilderness as a vagabond.
you have canled my visa to Canaan
and God gives only one reason
you did not believe
when you don't believe me you don't make
me happy and you don't hallow my name
so you will not enter the land imagine
imagine
Dear ones, the seriousness
or shall I say the awfulness
And then it says the second thing is he
is a rewarder of those who diligently
seek him. First he is and then he rewards.
Never ever ask God can God but keep
asserting and acknowledging God can.
Never can God.
But our question
often times is
God can
what will he?
God can heal me. God can heal my child.
God can solve this problem in our home.
God can sort out this issue. God can.
God can. Nothing is impossible with God.
That's repeated both the Old Testament
and the New Testament. God can. But will
at that time
that should come
and without any effort effortless
something must be pumped up from our heart
heart
to say he is able he's able he is able
as the three young men standing before the
They just challenged and said
our God is able
to deliver us. Will he? That we don't
know. But he's able.
Even if he does not deliver us, sorry sir,
sir,
we cannot bow before this idolatrous
God is able. But even if he does not, we
will still worship him because he is a
living God.
Dear friends,
I would urge you to read book of Hebrews
11th chapter as often as possible.
It's called faith chapter down the ages.
Down through the ages.
Read it again and again because there's
various characters we come across.
Some of them known as good people, some
of them known as bad people, some of
them known as good and bad people and
all kinds of characters. You come in
11th chapter, you'll be encouraged.
But one thing was common. That was the
common denominator. That was the means.
Basic means they all believed
by faith.
by faith.
Even about about Samson, it is written
by faith.
So by faith. So please read through the
book of Hebrews 11th chapter. I urge you
as often as possible to strengthen your
faith for your specific practical situation.
That is like taking vitamin F.
I also would urge you to take vitamin L.
I'll come to it a little later. There is
a chapter called love chapter. There is
1 Corinthians 13. Read it also as often
as possible. So that is vitamin L and
And I also would recommend that you read
I wrote it 40 years ago in 1985. 40 years
years
very fresh. It has gone through so many
different faith life is available in
English and Tamil. I don't know in how
many other languages.
One of dear sisters by name Lineta who
has been working with me closely
for over 40 years. She only transcribed
uh the messages, the contents of that
book by listening to my audio tapes
of the talks I gave in revival 1985
under the theme that just shall live by faith.
So how do we make God happy?
Thirdly,
how to make God happy
by loving his word. Mark my word. I have
been speaking about believing, but now
we come to the word loving.
Not just out of duty, but out of delight.
delight.
You know if you do everything only as a
duty in course of time and it becomes tregery
tregery
but only if you do it with delights delightfully
delightfully
you'll never get tired or worn out
you will need more of that.
So how to make God happy? By loving his
a 16th century none.
She made a statement which uh I have
repeated number of times whenever I used
to address youngsters. You know I
started my ministry in 1963 among
youngsters and I have been continuing it
and I still speak to youngsters. Even
last but one Sunday I addressed a 500
member congregation focusing on youth.
I love young people and I try to
maintain that youthfulness as much as
possible in my heart. Only then I can
address and approach youngsters.
The 16th century none made this statement.
statement.
The Bible is God's love letter to us.
The Bible is God's love letter to us.
Love letters increase the joy of each
other. I don't know how many of you had
the experience of exchanging love
letters. Now when Lilian and I exchange
love letters those days there was no
mobile phone and no SMS, no email,
nothing. So it's all handy letters. I
used to make fun of her handwriting
but she would simply admire my
handwriting because the engineer's
handwriting will be straight and
doctor's handwriting and you know
pharmacies will be able to read it
better than all of us.
So like that but the contents we used to
like it and we used to fold it and I
just keep it inside my
uh pocket because I always wear shirts
with pockets. I cannot wear a shirt
without pocket. It's inconvenient for
me. So I'll keep it there and when the
lecture is boring I'll take it and take
the law letter and keep it under the
desk and then I will read it. I'll read
it again and again and again but she
would have written that after you read
this letter you carry it. I will have no
mind to carry it until I go to bed and
final reading then I'll car without the
knowledge of my mommy and daddy.
Now there is one book in the Bible which
has the longest chapter. You know what
it is?
It has 176
176 beautiful
beautiful sublime
sublime words.
words.
Each verse is about God's word. Magnificent.
Now in this particular chapter you know
during the preparation of this message I
there are 10 specific references
which connect the word
to our relationship with God. Follow me carefully.
carefully.
There are 10 specific references in
Psalm 119
which connect or join
the word of God and our relationship
with God. So I pick them up and then
that makes us a better understanding of
how loving God's word makes God happy. I
hope uh I'm reasonably logical tonight.
What a psalm it is. We don't know who
wrote it. So we'll simply say the psalmist.
psalmist.
If a vote will be taken as to whom would
you ascribe that song to personally I
would ascribe it to David. But I don't
know whether how far that will be
accurate. But the psalmist we'll simply
say psalmist. Psalm 119.
Look at the 10th verse. With my whole
heart I have sought you. Oh let me not
wander from your commandments.
Whole heart
you know that's why you know when uh uh
during the Valentine day and all the
greetings got they got heart and arrows
and all that.
I have sought you.
I am passionate after you. I am mad
after you.
I want to see you.
So help me not to wander away from my
I remember your name in the night. Oh Lord.
Lord.
Yeah, we all know about sweet dreams, right?
right?
Especially during the courty period.
A lot of sweet dreams come because the lovers
of beautiful things come because you get
dreaming about the lover
and he says
it is
to help me to keep your word. Whatever
you have said I want to do it
because you are the lover of my heart.
And I think of even at night.
And look at verse 57.
Don't lovers say one to another, hey you
are sufficient for me. I got you. That's
more than the world. Yeah. You are my
portion. You are my everything.
You are my everything both great and small.
And the next reference in verse 73.
You may wonder why I
give you this meditation with so much of excitement.
excitement.
Because I fell in love with
And then I fell in love with God's word.
So when I got married in 1970 that is
I was not wise enough to not to make
that statement but I told my wife you
are my second wife. I told Lilian
what do you mean? Yeah, I have already
been wedded to the wife or now I
marrying you.
And then uh she became all right. A
cruel shock. Yes,
Every day of all these years, 60 plus years
years
has been a Valentine day for me with God
And then when you come to verse 73, your
Help me to learn your commandments.
Don't lovers say one to another, I am
what I am because of what you have made
out of me. What you have brought out of
me, what you have done to me, what you have
have
put in into me to build me up.
You have fashioned my life after you
because I love you and you love me.
And come to verse 94.
Oh, book of Psalms
119th Psalm
176 verses.
In verse 94, the psalmist says,
"I am yours.
I seek your preserves."
You know, lovers makes this statement.
You know that that's too obvious, isn't
it? Oh, I am yours. You are mine. I'm
yours. You are mine. We never become
tired. It's like imposition. any number
of times we say that without growing
weary or tired.
And sixly
come to verse 114.
You are my hiding place and you are my
shield. I hope in your word. Now hiding
place and shield put together I would
say bosom.
I hope in your word. I keep looking but
leaning on your bosom. I keep looking
into your mouth to see what will fall
out of your precious lips, your sweet lips.
lips.
I'm just hoping for it, waiting for it,
your word.
And next come to verse 200. Now that is
the seventh reference. My flesh trembles
for fear of you and I'm afraid of your judgments.
judgments.
Now here the word fresh must be must be
slightly interpreted for our
understanding in this context as my feelings
feelings
my feelings have got a trembling sensation
sensation
that's a reverential fear not not an
ungodly fear or unhealthy fear not a
negative fear but a positive reverential fear
I have reverential fear for your words
because my feelings are deeply touched
by your love.
They tremble
for reverence for you. I respect you so
Even if I disobey my parents, I won't
disobey you.
You are my everything,
both great and small.
Oh, I speaking with a lot of excitement because
I just love my Bible because that is
God's love letter to me. Every time I
open the Bible, I know that another
fresh love letter has reached my post
box. Psalm 119 verse 156.
Great are your tender mercies, O Lord.
Tender mercies, you know the tenderness,
In other words, I am broken,
but your tenderness
is mending
a resetting
my broken, shattered heart
Ninth verse is ninth reference is still interesting

Seven times a day I praise you because
of your righteous judgments.
Seven times
I praise you because whatever you do is right.

righteous, correct, flawless, allless, truthful.
Well, you think of someone whom you love
not just seven times, even 70* 7.
I'm speaking to you perhaps in humorous
terms, but a very very heightened truth
from the Bible.
10thly and lastly verse 175 last part
one verse of this long psalm.
Let my soul live.
Let my soul live
and let your judgments help me.
Yes, we must be able to tell our lover,
You know there is a beautiful hymn which
says I need
thee every hour. I think it has to be
modified a little.
I need thee
every minute. No, no, no. That also not
Yes beloved,
the word of God deepens

That's why Jesus said in John's gospel

beautifully you know all these things

John 15 and verse 7

That is another point. But here if you

I know you won't go outside the biblical

What was the need for God to create you

Who said that's nonsense?
Thousands and thousands of angels were

all the heavenly hosts.
Who can ever say God was feeling lonely?
What was the need for him to create you

Sometimes I'm not able to really uh I

John 14 and verse 23.
Jesus answered and said to him, "If
anyone loves me, he will keep my word."
Come on.
I'm not going off track. I'm not going
off tangent. If anyone loves me, we're
talking about loving God, and that is
through word.
If anyone loves me, he will keep my word,

and my father will love him.
He now brings the triangle, the trint triangle

and he says
we will come to him. We
