I am snacking again but you know this is

sign hustling it's just more casual it's

how it is

these ones are my favorite Pocky by the

way it's like inside-out Pocky that's

real good real tasty am I wearing

epic cut crease makeup like a full face

of makeup and my hair done with my

pajamas and my like robe that I used to

keep warm yes but you know it's a just a

lazy Saturday here in my life and I

didn't want to put makeup on so I

thought if I allowed myself to go a bit

crazy and have fun with it that would

motivate me to put my face on for you

wall and it seems to have worked so here

I am but what have I been up to since I

saw you all last last year on side

hustling at the end of June I kind of

was you know working through making

those boxes for my sets which now I

finally did put up the video of how I

made those boxes so I feel good like

that it's really completely come full

circle and it's done now which is nice

and I have been using those props for

most of my videos now just because they

look cool in the background I'm just

gonna leave them there I don't mind

having everything be a little bit

adventure style that's fine with me

especially since I spent so much

freaking time on those boxes that I

better use them in the backdrop of every

dang video right because it took forever

to make them so I might as well get a

lot of use out of them but I finally put

that video up so that kind of feels closed

closed

I made that second adventure style video

the adventures evenings video and I put

together some sewing videos the last

month some lots of lots of videos that I

was proud and happy to finish and get up

and then I had my birthday in early July

so that was a thing that happened and I

try not to get down about my birthday

because for me it's a marker of like

birthdays holidays Christmas Halloween

things like that any holidays I usually

would like or used to like kind of our

reminder for me now that it's another

year that I haven't accomplished like

main goals that I want to so I can

sometimes get down on myself around

holidays and birthdays and things so I

was trying really hard to not do that

this year which is why I took myself

thrifting on my birthday

hence the thrift haul that I had here on

the channel of my birthday thrift all

because I did take myself out

thrifting cuz I do really quite enjoy 30

now so I was like well I can't have a

bad day if I do this and my parents

actually took me to lunch which was nice

as well so I had a pretty good at

birthday tried not to get down on myself

like I can sometimes tend to do and then

I'm just working on lots of videos a

little bit more time at my day job and

then finishing or working on finishing

the draft of the book that I've been

working on all year so those kind of the

things that I got up to in July or the

past like month and a half here so I

will jump in to some footage of like

what I got up to or a little bit of like

snapshots things I was doing in the last

month and a half here including more cat

footage as always because you know got

Oh what do you have - my lovey you're

guarding these Teague's what you doing

honey you're too cute my lovey what are

you're just guarding the eyeshadow

there are all of my clothes from this

rack in my closet because I've requested

my contractor aka my dad to move this

shelf down and then put another one

above so that's today's project I'm here

in the in the closet could use a dust

also but you know you know we know how I

so I definitely think the biggest thing

that I have accomplished since the last

time I spoke to you here on-site

hustling or less time I kind of blogged

is that I did finish the draft for my

second book so the second like full

complete novel I have ever written it is

I gave my last book that I wrote last

year is too long this one is definitely

too long but it's the sequel of that one

so how how can you write a sequel to a

long book that is shorter I don't know

and it's clear to me why I don't write

short stories as in like you know a sort

of chapter length kind of short stories

sort of thing because I can't write your

books for Christ's sake let alone a

short story it might be a fun challenge

to try and write just a short story

because I'm like nah man give me that

long drawn-out conversations and

character development that's that's

where I'm at but I'm really very happy

to have finished this draft of this book

of course for me it also means that I

can refocus and hopefully start working

on my query letters and working on

finding a literary agent which is

supposed to be my goal for the year as I

keep saying in these videos but I did

allow myself to get distracted by all

the ideas for this second book and I

kind of at some one point I just

realized that trying to fight fight it

and not write this book this year was

not gonna work like I either had to

write it or I was gonna be sad so I

ended up writing the second book the

first book that I wrote last year took

me about like two or three months like I

wrote it really quickly it was just kind

of like a five word vomit almost like I

just like this book just happened to me

kind of last year and this year I once I

kind of gave in a lot of it came quickly

like that same way but it was a little

bit more of a struggle because I was

tying a lot more together because there

were a lot more subplots kind of going

on it did take me a little bit longer

and I did have a lot more going on last

year I allowed myself to stop blogging

to stop doing YouTube while I was

working on the book and just do the book

and this year I couldn't do that I

couldn't stop

working on YouTube because think about

the internet like all side hustles

involving the internet Instagram YouTube

things like that you cannot take a break

and expect to maintain any kind of

it's all about like consistency and

building momentum when it comes to

social media and that kind of side

hustles so I couldn't just not post on

YouTube and expect my youtube to even

stay stagnant let alone grow so I had to

keep up with YouTube so I've been

keeping up with YouTube we're doing

those hardwood floors of my house having

some kind of family drama over the past

this year different stuff going on so I

did take me longer to finish this book

just because my attention was split in

many different directions but now I am

finally done with this book I am so

excited to edit it and like give it a

good edit but I know I have to wait

which really sucks to be honest like I

want to work on it immediately I want I

already miss working on it it's funny

when you like finish a big project

especially I think of writing or like a

creative project there's like a sense of

like mourning after that is gone because

you can't or you don't you don't get to

write it for the first time ever again

like I don't get to write the first

draft ever again and there's like a

sense of sadness around that in some

ways even though I'm very excited to

have it done I am kind of it's missing

from my life now it's like a friend that

I don't get to see for a while because

technically now this draft is over I

should take a break

like completely from the draft and let

it sit because I need to like refill my

creative juices by like watching other

media reading other books kind of

getting back out there in the world

because I've been in my insular like

kind of book brain space and I need to

get back out and kind of fill refill all

my creative hooks book that I was using

to do the book I kind of need to help

myself not burn out in some ways too

because I have been working really hard

this summer and have been doing some

like emotionally taxing stuff as well so

like I really need to help myself not

burn out by giving myself a good break

and kind of watching other movies

reading other books kind of refilling my

brain and then hopefully being able to

come back to the book the draft with a

newer eyes and so I can see what isn't

working see what is working and give it

a really good edit hopefully cut out a

little bit but definitely just like even

like stepping away for a little while

you see typos that you didn't see before

or you see bits of grammar that maybe

you can't see when you're working on the

draft so um for me I just need to step

away for a little while but it is also

kind of a hard thing to do so I'm trying

to deal with all that at once basically

and I really just want to start working

on it again but I know I have to take a

break which isn't easy for me

so I'm going to try and take a break if

you have any recommendations for shows

movies books things that I can refill my

brain with please do leave those in the

comments below because I think I'm gonna

start watching peaky blinders too many

people have recommended it to me so I'm

gonna have to watch it because everyone

seems to recommend it and it's just time

to give it a watch I didn't watch

Chernobyl last week which was really

good so that wasn't that was a good

break from anything I was doing as well

and I really enjoyed that so recommend

me things in the comments below that

you've enjoyed media that you've enjoyed

movies I should check out all that kind

of stuff I do also really need to just

really wait all my goals actually before

I sat here to talk to you filming this

I watched my side hustle and from the

start of the year where I was talking

about my goals for the year and some

people have actually mentioned here on

YouTube like you should probably

consider freaking consider reconsidering

your goals and it's true because it's

like past mid year now and it's obvious

that some of the things that I wanted to

get done this year of course are not

going to get done and some things that I

didn't even make goals like I didn't set

the goal of finishing this book this

year because I don't like to put

pressure on myself when it comes to

writing in that way but of course I did

you know vaguely want to finish that

book this year so I have done that so

I've accomplished goals that I was

really careful not to set but I haven't

really accomplished my other goals so I

think I need to reevaluate reschedule

everything I've kind of let myself not

to-do list not scheduled not other than

schedule my YouTube videos what I do try

and keep on top of but like when it

comes to how many query letters do I

want to send out how many agents do I

want to add to my spreadsheet the sort

of administrative side of trying to

become an author I've really let myself

not have to think about that while I

finished the book instead and now I read

to reschedule all my plans when it comes

to that so basically the next side

hustling video will be my reevaluating

all my goals and setting out a new

schedule for myself going into the fall

here it's like back-to-school season

anyway so might as well set myself some

concrete goals some new scheduling all

kinds of

structure I think I need going into this

fall basically cuz I've allowed myself

to be very unstructured most of this

year and I think it's time now that the

the book is done which is the most

unstructured kind of thing I do I really

let myself I don't set myself specific

numerical goals when it comes to writing

it's very unstructured because I just

I'm too afraid to set a structure on

that in case it messes me up so I'd

rather not drink sit and just keep it

unstructured but now I'm gonna need some

structure so that is what I'm gonna be

doing here soon

kind of the rest of this month is gonna

be a regal setting restructuring of how

I spend my time including maybe

introducing some new things or switching

some things around I've been mentioning

here on the channel a little bit my last

thrift haul as well that I'm considering

starting or ramping up my Etsy shop

I do have an Etsy shop I just don't have

very much in it I don't really focus a

lot of time into it but I do seem to

find some like really good stuff

thrifting people are always telling me

that they can't find the kind of things

that I find at least so I'm thinking if

I can find them I can find a bunch of it

and start selling it on my Etsy shop so

I am considering ramping up my Etsy shop

and turning it into much more of a

legitimate hustle in response like in

conjunction with that possibly thinking

about really figuring out a way for my

day job to take up less of my time I

really like my day job when it's working

but right now it's not exactly working

for me just because the scheduling

throws me off so much because it's very

flexible but at the same time it's also

it's a different time every week I never

really know what's gonna happen until

it's about to happen and that makes it

hard for me to put structure into my

life so it's not like I'm only the only

one who's making my schedule

unstructured it's also instructor

because that's how my work schedule is

and that can really throw me off if I

was supposed to work Monday and I end up

working on Wednesday instead then I have

to move my whole week around in some

ways so that kind of thing is throwing

me off so I have to figure out exactly

what am i to do about that too so

thinking about Etsy in a taking Etsy in

a new direction possibly and then the

other thing I'm thinking about is

possibly launching patreon it's just a

hard thing to do in some ways because it

just seems so grubby in so many ways and

I think people recognize that like you know

know

start a patreon it's not because you're

like give me all your money it's because

you're like I want to keep making things

and I can't do it for free always so I'm

trying to work through my thoughts when

it comes to patreon some of you have

asked me to start a patreon and thank

you so much for her being willing to

support the things that I do here but

I'm trying to wrap my head around

possibly doing patreon I think maybe

it's something I might consider opening

when I hit 20,000 subscribers all right

time right now I'm around 16,000

subscribers and I just feel like I would

like my audience audience here on

YouTube to be of a certain size before I

launch patreon because before then it

just almost seems like not to make much

sense so I'm considering maybe at 20,000

launching patreon just so I can make
