0:15 hey you guys got a problem gear change
0:20 from first to second it's really stiff
0:23 you started when you were changing down
0:25 the gears second into first
0:27 it just wasn't spinning the Box up and
0:30 just wouldn't go into first from second
0:32 that's been happening for a little while
0:34 but it began slowly worse and now like I
0:36 say first a second completely gone as
0:40 well even with the engine off it just
0:42 doesn't want to go first
0:45 secondly just it's just jamming so goes
0:49 third fourth fifth first don't want to
0:53 go in second don't want to go in so time
0:55 for new gearbox managed to pick one up
0:58 let's whip this one out stick a new one
1:01 in so we've got to clear a bit of room
1:04 out yeah batteries got to come out
1:06 battery carrier and whip some of the
1:09 bolts out on top we'll start by just
1:11 disconnecting the battery whip them turn
1:17 those off to ten mill nuts then we're
1:18 going to disconnect the battery
1:20 retaining carrier a little twelve
1:22 millimeter nut at the front with the
2:08 so I'm just pulling the retaining clip
2:11 off the cable and pulling the cable away
2:13 and then doing the same with the other
2:16 one to remove both their selector cables
2:20 yeah bingo now we're going to remove the
2:23 two 12 mil bolts holding the gear
3:01 selector to the job bartending me finger
3:07 lock and it's a it's a bit of a gusher
3:10 dough it's just starting to slow down a
3:12 bit I'm going to superglue the top of my finger
3:30 now we've got the clutch cable it's just
3:44 attached so on the same bracket just a
3:46 12 mil bolt holding the bracket and then
3:50 just pop the connector then down the
3:52 front we've got the earth strap and it's
3:53 little retaining clamps so just whip
3:58 them off now I can crack these
4:04 bellhousing bolts off on the top and
4:07 then the 14 millimeter starter motor top
4:11 bolt and then we've got two more 17 mil
4:15 bellhousing bolts one at the front at
4:17 the top and then two down the front near
4:24 the front of the car now I can just
4:26 remove the gearbox mounting bolts
4:30 leaving just one to hold in place while
4:31 I take the rest of the bell housing
4:37 bolts out from underneath here let's
4:41 Jack this a go I'll pump up that a go
5:28 it's quite clean the oil change at some
5:34 point you got to wipe it off not drip it
5:41 on yet okay next step I feel I want to
5:43 get this oxygen sensor out of the way
5:45 cuz I'm gonna catch that when I'm
5:49 getting this gearbox out I just I got
5:51 failing so I'm gonna whip that out just
5:55 to make sure I don't bash it I'll get
6:01 this bottom mounting off then we'll pop
6:04 the legs off a couple back sourced
6:07 Amazon doubt shafts out to the bottom I
6:08 get this optional sensor out the exhaust
6:12 jigglin know things about so I'm not
6:13 quite out for better get this out on the
6:16 pit without so many problems let's give
6:40 that's the house away we don't want to
6:41 break that
7:51 that's one less bit often it swing you
7:54 need to figure a way of supporting this
7:56 engine when I drop this gear box
7:59 mounting off so I'm gonna meet something
8:03 yeah to to support it right let's get
8:29 she's 19 millimeters big birther in
8:48 there hate these reverse arms that are
8:54 pain are nearly smashed me phone need a
10:15 we'll turn the steering forelock so it
10:47 gives me a lot more leverage just watch
10:51 - hammering between mom and the hook
10:53 there just to push that driveshaft out
11:09 get it out me why so that's all three
11:12 outside well we've got left as a starter
11:14 motor at the back and a bulb to the back
11:16 and then obviously the mountain and
11:18 we've got to just support this engine so
11:20 that we don't lose it we don't have to
11:29 so I've got an old white bar but a bit
11:39 of wood would have done it on the other
11:42 end of that and hoof it would just
11:52 support this engine when I drop it okay
11:58 bars in supporting that shouldn't go too
12:01 far now when I dropped the top mounting
12:05 off the gearbox and bring it down okay
12:07 so we've got left now is - we've got the
12:10 bottom starter motor bolt or 14 mil and
12:12 we've got this one at the back which is
12:15 a 17 mil bellhousing bolts I just
12:24 whipped that out now we've got about 14 milks
12:25 milks
13:34 only 14 mil not that on there huh that's
13:37 a little skunk way dog bark you see now
13:39 the box is decidedly separating from the
13:42 from the engine so we're definitely just
13:45 hanging now she's hanging hanging in there
13:46 there
13:50 right so we're almost ready to lower
13:52 lower onto the bar take that top
14:02 wants to come out now view from the
14:06 other side got the jack with the bar
14:08 rested on the bottom of the engine
14:10 because I just can't put a jack and down
14:12 the pit there it's just not good it's
14:13 gonna be in the way it's not gonna be
14:16 safe so I think this looks a lot more
14:20 secure and we've now going to just
14:24 finalize removing the last mounting bolt
14:26 here on the gearbox and it's how far she drops
15:18 in the bank Wow there we have it gearbox
15:22 is out yeah so we left with a clutch
15:24 push point if you want to take this off
15:26 we just whip these 13 to 12 mil bolts
15:29 from outside and take the plate off
15:31 we're not going that far in this one
15:32 though we're just going to pop the debit
15:35 gearbox in and jobs are good in
15:39 fantastic ok so we've got the new
15:46 gearbox and very nice it is - all nice
15:49 and clean so and also the bearing is
15:51 beautiful which is one thing that we
15:53 were a bit worried about so where I've
15:54 greased the splice has put a little
15:59 smear of grease on there and just
16:00 checked it over everything's as it
16:05 should be let's stick it in so the
16:09 clutch hasn't got a problem with it but
16:10 I can still see without taking the plate
16:13 off I can see if it's worn or not let me
16:19 so here we have the clutch plate now if
16:21 it was replacing it I'll take off these
16:24 twelve mill bolts around the outside
16:28 take the plate off stick a new one on
16:29 but we've got to put the centralization
16:31 you put a pin down the middle or
16:32 something to make sure that that is
16:34 exactly in the center though I should
16:36 never get a gearbox back in so this
16:38 one's on there to check this over I can
16:40 see all these Forks more on where the
16:43 the bearing rubs against it and then now
16:44 there okay there's not a lot of wear
16:47 there now the actual plate itself is
16:50 trapped between the two here you can see
16:53 if I look between the gap I can actually
16:57 see the clutch plate itself and I can
17:00 still see on the inner edge and the
17:03 outer edge the lines which are marked
17:06 into the plate itself and as long as I
17:08 can see those lines it's not worn down
17:11 to the rivets so it's still got quite a
17:13 bit of life left in it so I want to
17:14 leave that alone okay everything's
17:16 pretty much out of the way let's get
17:21 this new box in not my favorite but it's
17:23 always lifting
20:04 [Applause]
20:53 Oh No bash my head we're dead wound
20:58 superglue again get the bolt in the back
21:01 of the bell housing then we've got one
21:07 front one back nice to get this mounting
21:09 all sort of roughly about where it
21:29 should be yes here we go
21:44 okay so now the engines bolt it up I can
21:48 get rid of my makeshift engine stay give
22:01 us some more room Andre hey again again
22:04 right oh that looks like by now that's
22:12 looking really good so the starter motor
22:15 bolt and the back bolt we was going to
22:18 that's the back bolt there and the
22:23 starter motor is that the back bear it's
22:26 really hard to show you how misses a lot
22:28 of this is done through feel rather than
22:30 not to look into well here you go
22:33 that's the that's the back bolt for the
22:40 gearbox and then starter motor top and
22:43 bottom one bottom bolt in that and the
23:06 other one is from the top so this from
23:29 that's a bit of Lube on that goes up
24:03 and that's get this exhaust oxygen
24:28 connected back up Josh F time okay so
24:32 I've got to pull the bottom arm down to
24:37 then slice that back in again so I'm
24:39 gonna go on sweet recess on there to
25:00 well that was easy no no that was beautiful
25:25 bingo beautiful chefs are in just got to
25:28 get these horrible bottom joints in so
25:30 we're gonna have to Jack the hop-up
25:32 again pulled it on down and trying to go
25:35 she ate him into the bottom arms and
25:52 support joints let's give it a go oh god
25:55 these things are all quit do you pick
26:09 cars back in there she is
26:29 bingo
26:32 right let's have a look okay what we've
26:36 got we've got to get the other starter I
26:39 to bolt in which is that one I've got
26:52 some more bellhousing bolts to go in so
26:56 now we've got the say again the gear
27:03 selector mounting bolts such assembly
27:06 all in place with the gear selector arms
27:09 so now I've just got these arms to go on
27:14 and a clutch cable to go back in push
27:16 cable is lovely so let's go without
27:23 first that feels quite tight there's any
27:25 free planer and that's all gonna be down
27:26 to that no bearing that was in there
27:29 it's a better bearing than the old one
27:31 I've got a little bit of free play there
27:35 now so I'm hoping that's gonna be about
27:38 right let's put a spring back on adjust
27:49 it up a bit more finito that's good no I
27:53 skate gear selector cables back in the
27:56 bottom one slip that on that's right Chuck
28:12 okay you selected on first like cable
28:17 plug to the back on HS bellhousing bolts
28:21 in all the way around some nice and
28:24 tight cigar tonight a boxer in touches
28:27 or bucking gear selectors are on this
28:35 wire back down again battery carrier
28:58 back in so let's change the oil in this
29:00 gearbox get it all nice and nice and
29:03 fresh that's the stuff
29:09 so it's a driveline 7580 MV manual
29:14 transmission fluid 1.75 liters to the a
29:19 go let's go for it to get it out drain
29:24 plug 24 millimeter sub kit it might not
29:30 be a lot in this long to say this so I
29:32 don't know what's in here if there's
29:42 okay not a lot though not a lot in there
29:44 which I wasn't expecting a great though
29:45 because they usually drain these before
29:48 they ship for now let's put the plug
29:54 I'd say the filler plug on the AYGO is
29:58 right at the front and it's this one
30:07 just here right on the front so you got
30:09 your knock bong wash up so keep them
30:11 safe you could put a tube from the top
30:15 and do it that way okay so I've got the
31:09 bingo I've got it this time that's up to
31:10 speed just where we want him
31:14 great stuff so the levels now to the the
31:16 Bonnie started to run out so we know
31:19 we're good we can put this bum back in
31:28 dip it up let's get up got bright okay
31:32 so let's get the wheels back on and
32:33 some really pleased with that I'm just
32:34 gonna have one last look round much
32:36 we've got no way of leaking out from the
32:38 drive shaft seals some bones and stuff
32:41 but yeah it's driving really nice
32:42 there's no whining there's the gear
32:51 selections beautiful super job nothing
32:53 coming out and no leaks
32:56 happy days there you go one hundred and
32:59 fifty seven thousand miles that gearbox
33:02 didn't there too bad she lives to fight
33:05 another day thanks for watching if
33:07 you've enjoyed it it's been out for
