What is going on everyone? My name is
Andy. Welcome back to another FPL video.
In this one, it's transfer tips for
gameweek 22. So, I'm going to go through
some of the popular players being put
into people's squads or being taken out
and give my opinion on whether they are
good moves or not. So, let's get into
it. So, let's start with Echitique. He
was back in the Liverpool squad last
night for their FA Cup game. He came off
the bench for about 30 minutes, got a
goal and an assist. This one's nice and
easy for me. You just keep him now for
Burnley at home. has every chance he
will start that game and it's the best
fixture he'll probably have all season
and also he's somewhat of a differential
now because a lot of the people that
brought Ekitique in have sold him again.
So I would definitely keep him longterm.
I think there's definitely good reason
to think about selling him to free up
some money to put it back into midfield
defense wherever your team needs it. I
still question the value at 8.9 million
for a forward not on penalties who does
seem to get cramp and slight hamstring
problems a little bit more than you'd
hope but right now in the short term
Bernie at home is great and even if you
had to keep him for Bournemouth away in
23 that's also really good so I would
just play it week by week with him just
wait until you need the money wait until
there's another issue and then get rid
of him but don't be in a rush to do it
the next two fixtures are absolutely
fine would I buy him right now probably
not if you're in a situation where
you've locked in the fact you're going
to wild card in gameweek 24, you want to
take a short-term punt, I don't mind it.
But for everyone else, I would probably
just ignore him for now. In terms of
captaincy, we can probably talk about
that on the gameweek preview video. I'd
be a little bit hesitant just because of
the slight issues that he's had. Like
I'm not quite sure what his minutes will
be against Bernie. Is he going to play
the full match? Who knows? But I guess
if you want to go differential, then he
probably is the one this week. I would
probably play it safe with Harland.
That's just my preference, but um it's
definitely worth thinking about if
you're an owner, but if you've got him,
like I said, I think you've got to hold
at this point. So, I've had a few
questions about which of the cheap
forwarders is the best one to buy. So,
Krooppy Jr. at Bournemouth who's 4.6
million or Manet at Wolves who's 4.5.
Now, if we're going purely on underlying
numbers, there's only one choice here
and that is Krooppy Jr. 0.54 expected
goals per 90 is excellent. Now, that is
a small sample size. He hasn't actually
played any 90-minute games so far this
season, but it's a good positive sign
that he will get chances. And we've
already seen that he's got an eye for
goal. So, if the minutes between the two
players were the same, Krooer Jr. like
wouldn't even have to think about it.
The problem is, will Krooppy Jr.
continue to start? Not necessarily. Now,
they've lost Semeno. He's obviously
transferred to Man City. Cly's got a bit
of a longerterm injury as well. So there
is space right now to get into the team,
but Bournemouth will recruit in January.
There is no way they let Semeno go.
Clover's got an injury and they just buy
no one. So Krooppy Junior's minutes are
definitely a little bit more suspect, I
would say. Like you're not quite sure if
he's going to continue in the team, how
often he'll get off the bench, how many
minutes he'll play, etc. But he does
seem from what we've seen so far, very
small sample sizes for both the guy
that's going to score more goals. Manny
has done well the last couple of games,
but his underlying numbers so far have
been terrible. 0.09 expected goals per
90, 0.08 expected assist, but again,
we've only seen four starts from him.
Maybe those numbers improve. It's also
worth saying Manny is listed as a
forward, but he's basically playing in
midfield. He's not a number nine or even
like a number 10 or anything like that.
So, it's it's difficult to know whether
Manny will continue producing because
the numbers aren't there. But, we really
have not much to go off. It's also worth
saying for Bournemouth the fixtures are
just better. For Wolves it's Newcastle
at home, City away, Bournemouth at home,
Chelsea at home. They've also got
Crystal Palace away in the next six game
weeks. Whereas for Bournemouth once you
get out of the way in the next two,
Brighton away, Liverpool at home, it's
then Wolves Villa, Everton, West Ham,
which just looks a little bit better.
The other thing, there's a few things to
go through here. The other thing is if
Arsenal get through to the Carabal Cup
final and they finish top eight in the
Champions League, which they will, there
is a chance they will double in gameweek
26. And if that happens, the other team
that will double will be Wolves because
in gameweek 31, that is the fixture. I
should have already brought this up. So
in gameweek 31, you have Wolves at home
to Arsenal. If Arsenal get through to
the Carabak Cup final, this will be a
blank that could get pulled forward to
gameweek 26. So potentially Wolves could
have a double in 26 which is Arsenal at
home and Forest away it's not amazing
because they play Arsenal but for a 4.5
million forward especially if you're
thinking about switching to a 451 541
playing Manny in that double would be
okay. Um which one would I buy right
now? I don't know. Uh it's such honestly
I think this is such a tricky I mean
there's even a conversation to be had.
you just go super cheap and buy like Obi
at Man United because you're not going
to want to triple Man United and you
just save all money more money. I would
probably buy one of these two I think
and get if it's not going to affect your
future moves. I you don't need the extra
money by going somewhere cheaper. I
would just buy one of these two. I think
right now
I I do not know I I really don't know. I
think I could sit here for another 10 20
minutes and not come to a conclusion. My
my gut feeling is I would buy Manet
because I'm more sure he will keep starting.
starting.
But I know that if Krooppy Jr. gets the
minutes, he is the better pick. So, do
you go for the potential upside or do
you take the guaranteed minutes?
I I I can't just sit here and and not
make a decision, right? This is a video.
Uh you need to like get an Oh, I don't
know. Uh this is terrible. I should just
cut this and start again. I I would
probably buy Manet because I'd want the
guaranteed minutes and that every time I
hear double gameweek, it just makes me a
little bit more tempted even though they
play Arsenal.
But if you think Krooppy Junior's
minutes are going to be good, he's the
one you should pick. I'm just a bit more
doubtful about that longer term. So,
Bruno Fernandez is back now. Is he worth
picking up in FPL? It does seem like
he's fully recovered from that hamstring
problem. He was only out for like 16 17
days, which feels a bit ridiculous.
Played 60 minutes against Burnley, then
started four days later in the FA Cup.
Not that it helped Man United go
through, of course, but in terms of FPL
purposes only, it looks good for
Fernandez going forward. and Man United
have no other competitions to play for
now. So, it's only Premier League games.
He's not going to get rested. There are
a couple of midweek fixtures coming up
in like February and March, I believe,
but not to the same fixture congestion
that we had over Christmas. So, I would
assume he's going to play 90 minutes
pretty much every game. Fletcher
obviously was the interim. Now, there's
another interim coming in until the
summer, which looks to be Michael
Carrick. Presumably, he'll play a back
four. So, Bruno Fernandez will play
number 10. I don't know if that number
10 role actually makes him better for
FPL. I think it will make everyone feel
a bit more comfortable owning him
because he probably will play further
forward more often, but if you look at
his underlying numbers, 0.22 expected
goals per 90, 0.29 expected assists. I
bet they don't go up much higher from
the position he was already playing. And
he's less likely to get defensive
contributions. Now, he's only picked
that up like three or four times, but
even when you pick it up three times,
that's like getting an additional two
assists. So, I don't necessarily think
he becomes an amazing option versus what
he was before, just because he's playing
number 10. But, I think he's just a good
option anyway, 90 minutes every single
week, penalties, etc. Do you need to get
him this week? No. It's Man City at home
followed by Arsenal away. The best time
to get him is probably game week 24,
which is Fulham at home, Spurs at home,
West Ham away, Everton away. But I know
there are a lot of people out there with
Kuna that want to get rid of him right
now. And I'm going to talk about him in
a minute. If you're sat there with the
money to go straight to Bruno Fernandez,
then I would probably do that. Like it's
not ideal buying him before City at home
Arsenal away, but he is better than
Kuna. Like if it's a decision between
the two, you're taking Bruno Fernandez.
The ideal situation would be to go from
Kuna to a different midfielder for a
two-week punt, then to Bruno Fernandez
in 24. But honestly, unless you're
swimming in transfers, like you're sat
there with four or five free transfers,
nothing else to do, and your team is
perfect for the next three, four weeks,
I wouldn't take the punt because in
gameweek 24, you've got a fixture swing
for not only Man United, but Chelsea as
well. And unless you're going to wild
card, there's also potential doubles in
26, although most people obviously will
be tripled up on Arsenal already and
then blanks to contend with down the
line in gameweek 31. And yes, you've got
wild card and free hit to manage these
uh to manage these blanks and doubles,
but you're not going to be able to
manage all of them without free
transfers at some point. So I I yeah,
like I said, unless you're sat there
with four or five transfers, I wouldn't
go Kuna to a punt then to Fernandez. If
you've got the money, you can do it in
one move. I'd be very tempted to do it
this week. If you do want to take a
punt, then obviously Liverpool we
already spoke about with Ekit. They've
got Bernie at home followed by
Bournemouth away. So someone like Vertz
maybe possibly even gakpo. You've also
got Newcastle with quite good fixtures.
So Anthony Gordon or Bruno Gomez, wolves
away, Villa at home. You could do that.
You could chain it on, couldn't you? To
one of those and then straight to Bruno
Fernandez in 24. But I my assumption is
most people watching this are not
swimming in transfers. They've probably
got one or two and they don't want to
have to go from one player to the next.
It's just easier to go straight to
Bruno. I think that's fine. I just
wouldn't force it. Like it's not
essential that you have him this week
and some people might not want him back
at all. That is absolutely fine. But I
do think from gameweek 24 onwards he's
going to be a good pick again. So let's
talk about Matteas Kuna next. I know I
mentioned him in the early thoughts
video last week, but since then we now
know that Ahmad Dio and Brian Inbermo
are returning from African Cup of
Nations and this all has a knock-on
effect in terms of how good Kuna is as
an FPL pick moving forward. Now the
first thing I will say he's not suddenly
become a player that you need to force
out of your team. Like if you've got
other issues to deal with then playing
Kuna against Man City home is not the
end of the world. But I will say
longterm it's much more difficult now to
know what his minutes will be like and
obviously in 23 it's Arsenal away
anyway. So if you have got a spare move
to go straight to Palmer, straight to
Fernandez or to downgrade him to like an
Enzo Fernandez or someone like that. In
most cases I probably would take it. If
you prefer to play him and just get one
more week's worth of information before
moving him on, that's also fine. But I
cannot see him being a great long-term
pick now. So what's changed? leads
Bernie Wolves. Those fixtures are out of
the way. Bruno Fernandez is back now, so
he'll definitely be on penalties. There
was some hope that in his absence it
would be Kuna. That doesn't matter
anymore. It will be Bruno. And also with
Amarim gone, so is the back three
system. It's very unlikely Man United
play with wing backs moving forward.
It's almost certainly going to be a back
four. Now, if we assume that Bruno is
not going to play in the pivot anymore,
then he'll play number 10. Surely Brian
Inbermo plays right wing which by the
way is where Kuna started in the game
against Burnley. That's Brian Inbermo's
spot. Number nine where Kuna can also
play. You've got Shesho and he's
actually played okay recently and been
scoring. So there's not going to be a
rush I don't think to take him out of
the team. And by the way when we got
Kuna like when when we were buying him
before Shesha was injured for a bit and
and that was part of the reason to go
for Kuna a little bit early. That's not
the case anymore. So you've got
Fernandez 10 in Burma right wing Shesho
number nine that leaves a left wing spot
and Kuna is not a natural left winger
now he can play there I'm sure but what
if Carrick wants to use Amadalo there
what if he wants to use Dorgu there what
if he wants to use Mason Mount there you
get the point right there is now
competition for the places that could
like and and don't get me wrong part of
me just thinks what are you on about
Kuna will be in that 11 like he makes
that 11 better but I don't think it's a
guarantee anymore like could I see Kuna
get benched against City. I don't think
that's that likely, but I would not be
shocked if he's not in the team. And
then moving forward, it becomes much
more difficult to guess unless players
start getting injured. So in Burma right
wing, Shesho nine, Fernandez 10. That
looks almost certain right now. So
you've just got to hope that Kuna's put
on the left, but I don't know if that's
a guarantee. That's the only problem. So
I think he's become a problem. He's not
as good as he was a couple of game weeks
ago. And when you can get rid of him, I
probably would. So Cole Palmer is
another player that I spoke about last
week, so I'll try and keep this quick,
but obviously Liam Rini is now in
charge. And we have heard from him
yesterday ahead of their Carabel Cup
match against Arsenal. This is what he
said. No new injury problems after the
Charlton game, but we'll make a decision
on Gusto Palmer and James tomorrow.
They're being managed. There's no reason
to take risks if you believe you can win
the game without them. So this isn't to
put you off buying Palmer. It's just to
make you aware that he is still being
managed. Now the hope would be that that
management of his minutes will come in
the non Premier League games and he will
continue to start most Premier League
matches they've got coming up which by
the way he has done recently. He started
the last four or five. He is getting
subbed early but he is starting at
least. So that would be the hope but
obviously it's not a guarantee that that
will continue moving forward. there
might be the odd game in the league
where he has to be benched. Now that
doesn't necessarily make him a bad
option because he's he's definitely a
differential and the fixtures are
excellent. Just a reminder, Brenford at
home, Palace away next two, that's
followed by West Ham at home, Wolves
away, leads at home, Bernie at home.
It's about the best fixture on between
24 and 27 we're gonna see all season. So
if you want to take a punt on him, I do
not mind it whatsoever. I know there's
people out there that are sat with Kuna
that have the money to go straight to
Palmer. I'd be tempted to do that. You
just do it knowing the risks with his
minutes. And the problem is the fixture
on that Chelsea have coming up in
January in particular and then into
February is kind of crazy. So they've
got Carabal Cup tomorrow. I suspect
he'll be rested for that game which
means he'll start against Brenford. Then
there's every chance he'll be rested for
the Champions League game against Pathos
as well. and then hope then obviously
that means he'll start against Palace.
So there's every chance Brenford and
Palace not an issue. Then they've got a
game in the Champions League away to
Napoli. What happens in that game
probably depends on their top eight
situation. Like if there's a chance they
can still finish top eight if they get a
result against Napoli, could Palmer
start that game? Could he play Palace
and then Napoli? Potentially. This is
where the slight issues start because if
he does start that Napoli game, will he
also start three days later against West
Ham and how serious will they take the
Carabal Cup match which is like three
days after that? And then you got a
Wolves game four days later in the
league. Now chances are again he gets
rested in the Champions League games,
doesn't play the Carabal Cup and just
plays the Premier League games. That
there is a chance that happens. But the
Wolves game is on the 7th. The lead's
game in the league is on the 10th. So
you got another three-day turnaround
there. Now we've seen him do it over
Christmas. So maybe it continues. There
are slight risks there. FA Cup, he
definitely gets rested. So then he
almost certainly starts against Burnley.
Not an issue. But then you've got
potential Champions League playoff games
to include around here as well if they
don't finish top eight. So I I my
ultimate thinking with Palmer is he's
fine to take a punt on because the
chances are with Chelsea's aims which
will be to get in the Champions League
next year, he'll start the majority of
those Premier League games, but he's
probably not going to play 90 minutes in
many if not any of them. That's the only
thing to say. Is that worth 10.4
million? It could be. Um, I think the
tricky thing right now, like basically
with how good those fixtures are, 24 to
27, you probably want to captain him a
couple of times. That's the thing you
can't rely on right now, I would say.
Like, can you rely on captaining him
against leads at home in 26, three days
after the Wolves game? Probably not. If
you're happy to own him without
captaincy, then absolutely take the
punt. I think for most people if you
don't have a good route to him in 22 I
would just put it off until 24 and then
come back to it because that West Ham
game in 24 there is one two three four
five games before that that Chelsea have
in all competitions that's going to give
you so much data about how many minutes
Palmer's going to play how much they're
going to need to rest him and stuff like
that so just come back to it in 24 so no
harm going this week if you've got a
good route but I I probably wouldn't be
going for like a massive restructure or
three or four transfers just to bring
him in this week. I think if you've got
a better way to do it in 24, I would
just wait. So, Antoine Semeno has now
made his move to Man City and already
made his debut in the FA Cup as well.
And I know for certain there's going to
be people out there that are wondering
whether to keep him in their squads
because they already own because Man
United Wolves at home next two fixtures
are not that bad. I wouldn't buy him by
the way. No chance. There's way too much
competition for his place. But could you
make a case to keep hold of him? Maybe
if you've got bigger issues to deal
with. But ultimately, Smen at
Bournemouth was a guaranteed starter and
pretty much guaranteed for 90 minutes
every single game. He is neither of
those things at Man City. And do not kid
yourself that he is because it's very
very rare that players go into that team
and are just nailed like Erling Harland.
It just doesn't happen. Like Semeno is
good in that he can play left or right,
but Churkeyy's there. Dou's there.
Bernardo Silva can play wide. Foden can
play wide. You've also got, who have I
missed? See, do Yeah, Cinho, Duo, and
Chery. They're the main players that are
going to play in those wide roles. Semen
now has competition. There is no
guarantee he starts either of the next
two. And if he does, an early sub is
also possible as well. Like, he's
obviously a good player, but it could
easily just be Do on the left, Cherokee
on the right, Semeno on the bench. So, I
get it. Man United away Wolves at home
is quite good. He's now in that Man City
team who will score more goals than
Bournemouth. Everything points to a
little bit of fun keeping hold of him
and I don't hate it, but honestly I
would probably be thinking about moving
him on if you got a spare transfer
because he is just he's just a headache
now versus what he was before. So let's
stick to Man City and talk about Nico
O'Reilly next who was benched in
gameweek 21 against Brighton and also
benched for their FA Cup game at the
weekend as well. Although that's not
such a shock because it was quite an
easy fixture for Man City. perfect game
to rotate some players. What should you
do with him moving forward? Now, I
definitely wouldn't buy. There's way too
much of a headache there now. But if
you're an owner, there is probably still
good reason to believe that Nikico
O'Reilly is first choice left back
still. But that doesn't mean he's going
to start every game. And the problem
you've got now is uncertainty. And that
is never fun in FPL. Now, my guess right
now is that he probably will start Man
United away and Wolves at home. But
we've seen that a can play left back. We
know that a Nori is out of African Cup
of Nations and will be returning to the
Man City squad. This puts too many
question marks for me over O'Reilly.
Now, we saw before African Cup of
Nations that O'Reilly was ahead in the
pecking order, but since then, we've
also seen him get benched without
without a Nori around. So, there is
going to be rotation for him over the
next few games. You would hope if you're
an owner that it comes in the non-
Premier League games, but he's almost
certain I would say to start the Carabal
Cup game. Like he's been benched for
both Brighton and exit. He's probably
going to start against Newcastle. Now
that's on Tuesday. So there's quite a
bit of a turnaround until the Man United
game on Saturday. So he could probably
start that as well. Maybe gets rested
for Champions League, maybe starts
against Wolves, maybe rested for
Champions League game after that. But
it's not guaranteed to work exactly how
you want it. So again, if you've got
bigger issues to deal with, I'd be
tempted to keep hold of him just because
of how good the next two fixtures are.
Like Man United away walls at home is
not that bad at all. But longer term,
he's got to go. The fixtures after
Wolves are not that good anyway. And now
every week you're going to be wondering
whether he's in the 11. It's just not
worth it. So I would look to start to
get rides
to do it. In terms of who to buy, I
mean, if you haven't got an Arsenal
defender, like if you can go from
O'Reilly to Gabrielle in any way, I
would definitely do that. Like, that's
such a massive upgrade. You could also
go for like a Chalibur at Chelsea,
assuming that he's still going to be
first choice moving forward because
their fixtures are so good. That's
probably where I would look. Otherwise,
if you want to free up some money, you
could go to like a Muki or an Alderetti
or even a Raldo at Sunderland who've got
some pretty good pictures coming up.
That's probably where I would look. So,
as is the case with a lot of players
right now, Nico Riley is not such a bad
pick. You've got to take a hit to get
rid of him. But I know I'm going to get
loads of questions. Is he going to start
against Man United? My answer will be
probably, but I can't guarantee it.
It'll be exactly the same answer against
Wolves. And that's what it will have to
be for the foreseeable. Now, so what
should Malik Chow owners do? He was
subbed at halftime in gameweek 21
against Leeds for a minus one point,
which is not ideal, especially if you
brought him in that week specifically.
Basically, I would not panic moving
forward. I think there's every chance he
just keeps his place in that team.
Sher's picked up an injury. Burn is
still out. Botman can never stay fit.
I'm pretty confident even though he had
a bad game against Leads in that first
half. He's just going to continue to
start. So, if you've got him in your
team, it's perfectly reasonable to play
him against Wolves away in 22. If you
have to play him against Villa at home
in 23, not the end of the world.
Brenford at home in 25. These are all
okay fixtures. I probably wouldn't bring
him in right now because they do have
Liverpool away, Spurs away, and Man City
away in the next six. It's probably not
the right time to jump on Newcastle
defenders necessarily, but if you've got
him, I would not be in a panic. I would
just keep him for Wolves and play him.
So, Gabrielle has more chances in for
defenders this week than Nathan Collins,
who's now up to 5 million. Very popular.
Not surprising. He's got 13 points
against Sunderland in gameweek 21, 10
points against Everton in gameweek 20,
and nine against Spurs at home in
gameweek 19. He has done really well.
He's got a bit of attacking threat. He's
good for bonus, and he's great for
defensive contributions as well. He's
averaged 10.6 per start so far this
season. That is excellent. And if you're
an owner, you're probably not selling
him because it's Forest at home in 23.
That being said, there is no chance I
would buy him this week. There's a
reason that when I was talking about
defender replacements earlier, I didn't
mention Collins. Chelsea away this week,
not great. Villa away in 24, not great.
Newcastle away in 25, not great. Ars at
home in 26, not great. Now, owning and
keeping defensive contribution defenders
is never a terrible strategy. If you had
to play him against Villa away because
you had other issues to deal with,
that's fine. But to bring him in, I just
wouldn't bother. The fixtures are not
good enough. So, Harry Wilson's great
form continues. He's now only blanked
twice in the last nine game weeks, which
is pretty impressive when you cost less
than 6 million, so he's still only 5.9.
And actually, the next four fixtures are
quite good. So, leads away in 22
followed by Brighton at home, Man United
away, Everton at home. Not bad at all
for a player that costs less than 6
million. Is there any reason to ignore
him if you need a new midfielder? The
only slight thing I would be thinking
about is the transfer window is open and
I believe that he's up as a free agent
in the summer if he doesn't sign a new
contract. So I saw this BBC article
where Marco Silva was talking about
Wilson and his contract and stuff like
that. He said there's no news for the
moment on the contract negotiations and
said that Fulham should just enjoy him
right now, right? because obviously he's
doing so well and maybe that implies
that he won't be there in the future.
The article carries on and says leads
continue to be linked with Wilson. By
the way, he was very close to signing
for leads in the summer. It's a bit of a
weird situation where Fulham kept in and
obviously he's now doing so well. Um and
then it said yet his form will surely be
turning heads in recruitment departments
at a string of clubs although sorry even
though he turns 29 in March. It could be
that Wilson is one of the most
attractive free agents on the market
come the end of the season. So, I don't
personally I don't think he's going to
go in January. Surely, if he was going
to go at all, he'd just run his contract
down and get a huge payoff in the
summer, but it's not completely
unreasonable to think that it could
happen. Marco Silva, um, sorry, the
article says that Silva, however,
remains hopeful that the players future
lies with Fulham. He said he's a great
lad. He loves the football club. his
family are very happy here where they
are living. Of course, the club should
do what they can to renew the contract
with him. So, while the transfer window
is open, it's not completely out of the
question that he could leave if Fulham
get a decent fee for him and if they
can't negotiate a new contract. The the
only reason this is playing on my mind
more than it normally would because I
think he'll stay at least till the
summer and I don't think it'll be a
problem. The only reason it's playing on
my mind is because I thought the same
with Pacitar and now he is strongly
linked with wanting to move away. Now I
think that situation is different in
that Pakitar just wants to get out of
the Premier League. Harry Wilson
probably doesn't but it could happen.
Like I I guess the thing you've got to
ask yourself is Harry Wilson so
essential to my plans that I'm willing
to take a risk that he's no longer at
Fulham in a few gamew weeks time. Again,
I think he probably will be. This is
probably being way overcautious. It's
just that if you've got two players that
you're lining up and one is absolutely
sta safe, maybe they're the better one
to go for. But right now, it's difficult
to argue against Harry Wilson just being
a great option. As more players return
from African Cup of Nations for Fulham,
it will be interesting to see if his
minutes continue. Like I don't know, the
more I talk, the more I probably just
wouldn't buy him actually because I'm
just so cautious with minutes. But if he
does continue to start, he's just great
for less than six million. So, let me
know if you're going to pick him up
regardless of what I've just said. If
