well here we
are in the Hmart parking
lot where I'm about to go in and buy
some miso paste and some kimchi but
before I do I thought I would answer
some of your questions that you left do
a good oldfashioned Q&A video I say that
like I've ever done a Q&A video before
I've never done one but that's what
today's Vlog is going to be
a Q&A video all right
so people ask
questions and I'm going to answer them
and that's how a Q&A video worked I took
some screenshots hold on I hate the way
that the new photo library is
organized I hate it all right
question what are you currently working
on and what are some exciting new things
coming up for you well currently I am
working on vlogmas no I think I know
what you're trying to ask I think you're
asking about future projects so in terms
of film making I wrote several
screenplays over the last year somewhere
for TV somewhere for film like feature
films and I've been trying to sell some
of them they're are varying different
levels of trying to be developed and sold
sold
and put into production and it's sort of
on Hiatus right now because of of the
holiday but I don't know we'll see what
happens with them some of them have been
in development for a really long time
and I hope that they see the light of day
day
because I worked really hard on them but for
for
now I'm just vlogging that is that is
the project I'm working on oh you know
what that's not true am going to be in a
movie next year um I forgot about that
they sent me this script offered me the
role I read the script and said yes so
we're going to have a meeting me and the
director and the writer uh next year and
it's a romcom and it will'll probably be
next summer so that's exciting but other
than that
vlogmas okay someone had asked a while
back if I would sing something on the piano
piano
I have not touched my piano since making
that Pitch Perfect video um a while back
I just called it a Pitch Perfect video
it's a perfect pitch
video Perfect Pitch video yeah I have
not touched my
piano so I would like to and in fact if
I am going to do it maybe I will try to
learn uh my favorite song of the year is
this song called older by Lizzy McAlpine
and actually I think on her YouTube
channel they show a tutorial of how to
play it so maybe I'll learn to play it
and try to do it for my birthday since
it's called older but uh that might not
happen so apologies if it doesn't but in
my heart I want to serenade you with
that but it might not happen sorry what
are some of your favorite YouTube
channels H jenim who I had the pleasure
of meeting at a party and uh acted like
an idiot but I was in the Vlog who else
okay I'm going to cheat a little bit and
look at all of my uh all of my
subscriptions I'll try not to list too
many I'll try to limit to five okay
let's go down the list Rachel nen AKA
that's Chic she's actually my editing
teacher so hi Rachel I think she's
living in a van right now and and
vlogging about it daily also so you
should definitely check her out her
style of making videos is incredible
which is why I wanted to learn from her
yeah she's really just great at
storytelling and also a very very very
talented uh DP and uh camera person Lindsay
Lindsay
RM lindsy REM lindsy RM which is so
funny cuz I know people buy like their
handle but not actually their name uh
she's an LA vlogger and um I really love
her content oh my god listen to me right
now but she's also gluten-free she also
has a dog so I really feel like um I
like watching ing her videos because
they're full of good ideas Caroline
Winkler is an interior designer but I
started watching her during the pandemic
and I actually watched her explode when
she started talking about like her her
dating life like following her dating
Adventures was really really interesting
she's in a solid relationship right now
and she's got a great podcast it's
called not for everyone she co-hosts it
with a woman named Jess highly recommend
Caroline she sometimes does like
makeovers and stuff like that but I just
like watching her she's very funny and
she also used to be an actress Emma
Chamberlain I mean who doesn't love Emma
Chamberlain she's just really fun to
watch and makes everyone feel like she's
just talking to you I also love her
podcast doobie duop is that how you say
her name duie duop I think her actual
name is Tina yeah doobie duop actually
Abe and I like watching her videos
together she lives in South Korea but I
think she's moving to Denmark which is
exciting because I love Denmark is she
moving to Denmark I think that's where
her boyfriend lives anyway great food
content really really funny very very
very talented I feel like I should just
stop here because there's just so so
many but um that's just a handful of
people I'm trying to think if there's
like other
vloggers who are closer to my age
because I feel like we need more of us
out there I'm just going through the
list very quickly oh Susan Yara mixed
makeup I've learned so much about
skincare from Susan oh I love Alison
Roman um I've always loved Alison Roman
and um she's having a baby and yeah even
when I'm not going to cook a roast I
mean you all know I hate cooking but I
love watching Alison Roman she's
fascinating she makes anything look
delicious oh lately I've been watching
some dudes I've been watching Eric Wong
or Eric Wang he does like great home
body Diaries and has like really
wonderful style and taste in interiors
and I also recently discovered Mikey
Rogers who is also in his 40s he's also
a small Creator quotequote small Creator
but I'm want I'm going through his
videos and I'm seeing that he's growing
just even in like these last few weeks
so way to go
Mikey yeah he shares his life in San
Diego and he's also got really great
taste and I think he he had like a
full-time job for a long time and is now
fully committed to
this content creation life and it's been
fun to follow his journey okay that's it
for now on all of the YouTubers I feel
like I did more than what did I say five
I feel like I did more than five all
right these are the Instagram question
questions and I'm going to I was going
to move you
but the camera is very happy there so
I'll just continue on from here do you
have any plans for GL movie again GL
movie I think that they mean gay lesbian
movie um because of Saving Face I mean
I've done other gay lesbian movies uh
off the top of my head see you then is a
movie about a trans woman um I did that
though that's not really gay lesbian but
it's in the queer space I have not
played a lesbian again have I I'm trying
to think about it yeah I guess that is a
good question I have played the mom of a
gay boy in a Disney short that you can
see called The Little Princess it's on
Disney plus but yeah in terms of playing
a lesbian again that has not happened
has it mostly
because I feel
like these days lesbian actresses play
lesbian rolls which is great um someone
asked what would be your dream acting role
role
h i mean so many different feelings
coming up right now I think when I was
younger it would have been something
like oh I want to play a bride or I want
to play so I could wear like a big
pretty dress or I want to play a mom so
I could like do the whole giving birth
thing and when I was even younger I
would have wanted to play a cheerleader
cuz I was obsessed with being a
cheerleader when I was in high school
those days are all kind of behind me
here and uh I mean I could still play a
bride and I could probably still play
someone who's giving birth but those
aren't my dream roles my dream roles are
Parts where you can really see the
character go on a
journey an internal journey and I
actually you
know I'm always jealous of roles where
people don't have to say much they're
just like doing and they're not really
talking very much they maybe it's
because they don't have many lines to
memorize I actually do not mind
memorizing lines but I uh I used to have
trouble memorizing lines actually and I
did hypnosis and it really helped but
this is not about my hypnosis this is
about my dream role yeah I think a role
where it's sort of the day-to-day life
so you really get a full
picture I would love some like real
drama and juiciness in it and I would
love to have written it but really if
we're talking dream roll it's a Disney
movie it's a Disney movie of course it's
a Disney movie um to to voice a Disney
character a villain would be really
really fun and to get to sing oh my God
I'd be so happy to do a Disney movie
yeah that's that's what it is my dream
role is to uh not be on screen and voice
a Disney character lots of acting
questions as an actress what's more
rewarding about portraying diverse
narratives and experiences I think being
able to tell people's
people's
stories that I don't necessarily live or
understand really helps
me understand that we're
all so similar
like being able to see that someone who
I would think on paper I don't have much
in common
really helpful to remind us of our
Humanity or remind me of my humanity and
that's what I think is extremely
rewarding and then of course being able
to connect with audiences who are
grateful um for
for that connection I can't even tell
you how many people over the last two
decades have told me that they've come
out to their families because of Saving
Face never would have imagined that and
um it's just a really beautiful thing
that I never expected and I'm just so so
humbled by and so appreciative that I
get to be part of people's personal
Journeys and it really has nothing to do
with my personal life it's just sort of
the vehicle in which I was able to
connect and I think that's so beautiful
I hope that answers your question okay
how did you enjoy working with TJ Miller
on Silicon
Valley I really enjoyed working with TJ
actually he's very very very nice we
were the only ones really working for
the first day I didn't meet any of the
other cast members we were in a hotel in
Los Angeles and he was great like just
hung out in a hotel and watched some
movies when we weren't on and on on set
and he's very funny and charming and and
nice and that was my experience working
with TJ and when everyone else came in
and we had more scenes to do with other
people he was so friendly he was like go
I remember him saying guys this is Lynn
this is Lynn as if anyone would care but
you know they were nice too okay here's
the final question and then I really got
to get inside and buy some kimchi cuz I am
am
really sweating here it's actually
really hot in LA right now um I have no
idea what happened but we got a heat
wave so I'm I'm sweating I'm sweating so
here we go last question are there any
Chinese cities you really want to visit
I mean there's so many cities I've
actually visited
China um twice now once when I was in
high school so that was like in the 9s
and then I went to China to work work
for the movie go back to China which you
can watch for free now on YouTube I will
link it below but yeah both of those
experiences were not like full
full adult
adult
sightseeing immersing myself I would
actually really love to just spend a
week in
Shanghai and just really be there and
see what the local life is because when
I travel at least these days I don't
really love going from place to place to
place I don't love tourist spots I don't
love crowds so maybe I shouldn't be
going to China but um I also really like
comfortable nice
hotels um so yeah I think I would like
to go to
Shanghai I remember Beijing pretty
vividly because we went to tanaman
square we went
to um see the panda
Bears I remember the panda bears really
vividly in Beijing reminder to watch my
husband's movie his documentary brother
orange which also takes place in China
it's just so weird that he went to China
without me to make a movie and I went to
China without him to make a movie so we
really have to go there together and not
make a movie and just
relax I got to get out of this stinky
car and buy some stinky kimchi and um
miso so thanks for watching and thanks
for sending in your questions and I'll
see you
