Core Theme
The core theme is that overthinking often stems from a lack of trust, which is cultivated through action and experience, and that embracing action and the present moment is the antidote to fear-driven overthinking.

The problem isn't overthinking. You just
don't trust enough. And where does that
come from? The lack of action, the lack
of experience. When we don't know
things, we obsess over them because we
got to know the outcome. We got to be
comfortable. You know what I'm saying?
You take your driver's test and now you
asking all your friends, "Uh, where
where did they have you drive? How fast
did you have to go here? How how hard
did you have to hit the
get in the goddamn car? Get behind the
wheel. You'll learn all of that quicker
than somebody can tell you. They could
still give you all the information.
Somebody could give you the code, the
map to Earth, to life, and you still
gonna mess up. You still gonna learn
more when you actually get out there
because that's how things work. We have
to stop being so obsessed with
controlling things. We have to be stop
being so obsessed with knowing the
outcome of everything and let things be.
Life is so much better when you flow.
But no, we got to sit down overinking,
analyze. We got to get in that analysis
paralysis that serves us right. Right.
Let's journal down every time that we
overthink things and versus when we let
things flow. I'm sure our life is a lot
better when we overthink. Do am I saying
that overthinking is not necessary?
Absolutely not. Cuz I'm a great
overthinker and my overthinking gives me
some great results. But I also know when
to turn that damn thing off because it
will burn you. I also understand that
action is the greatest antidote.
before doing something, the more I think
about it, I get anxious, especially if
I'm unfamiliar with it because I'm just
feeding more thoughts. You take a fire.
That fire, we call it flame. Call it
flame. We call it fear. You take a fire.
That fire, we call it fear. Okay.
Overthinking is the greatest fuel for
it. So, you put it in there. A fire is
this big. What if? What if? What if?
What if? What if? What if? What if? What
if? What if now you're engulfed by this
flame of what if rather than what is?
Okay. What is what is what is in front
of us? What is actually happen? What is
it that I can actually do in this
situation? What is it that I want to do
in this situation? Forget the result of
what's going to happen. Forget the
consequence. What is it that I want? How
do I get it? What do I need to do? I
don't care if I fail or if I get scraped
or something happen. What What is What
is What What are we actually talking
about at this point? Let's really get
down to the root of our overthinking.
Why are we overthinking? Where is this
stemming from? Start to ask yourself
why. When you get these thoughts and
these feelings of being overwhelmed, why
are you feeling this way? Nine times out
of 10, it's going to come from fear.
It's going to come from the idea that
you want to control things. Why? What
does that have to do with each other?
When you want to control things, it's
because you fear an outcome. Once again,
getting back to the thing, you don't
know what's going to happen. And it's
human nature for you to fear what you
don't know. Happens all the time. You
don't know what the outcome is. Why do
you think people fear death so much? You
don't know what the hell going to
happen. You know what I'm saying? You
just don't know what happens. So, it
scares the hell out of people. So, like
I say, you have to ask yourself, you
have to do these exercises and really
ask yourself when you're thinking about
something, you're overthinking. Ask
yourself, why am I overthinking?
Why? Well, I'm with this person and you
know they they always give me a reason
to believe that they're cheating on me.
So, I overthink where they are and what
they're doing and yada yada yada. That's
pretty valid. You're attached to a
person emotionally. They claim to be
loyal to you, but every time you look
around, you have a new idea and a slight
confirmation that they are probably um
indulging in the infidelity.
I mean, who wouldn't that send in a
spiral normally? You know what I'm
saying? I know it's a lot of people out
there numb and they just don't feel
nothing and they nonchalant. I don't
care if this happened to me, right? Good
cope. But that should yield some
probably irrational thinking to some
degree because there's a lot of emotions
tied up in that. There's a lot of them.
So, pat yourself on the back, step off
the ladder, sit down, and start taking
some action. Like I said, action is
going to be the greatest antidote. What
do you do with those thoughts? What do
you do with these confirmations? How do
you react? And that's where a lot of us
mess up. The way we react to things will
usually poison the hell out of us in
whatever scenario it is. You know what
I'm saying? But action is always going
to win. I have never felt
more afraid after doing something versus
before when it brought me anxiety. Take
a pretty girl for example. See a pretty
girl. Oh man, you're looking at a man.
That could be my wife and she's just so
beautiful. I want to talk to her. I
don't know what to say to her. What
should I say to her? I want to approach
this girl. You know what should I say?
For one, you don't know her.
She don't know you.
Maybe start with, "Hello, how are you?
My name is,
what is your name?"
If she's receptive, keep talking, make
conversation. If she's not, have a nice
good have a nice day. I just wanted to
introduce myself. Dip, she might come
running after you after that. But you
have already went, you just seen this
girl. You already talking about a wife
and kids and what to say and you want to
date. You don't even know her. You're
thinking too far. Now you judging the
outcome or wonder how it's going to go.
It's only going to go one or two ways.
How you want it or how you don't.
Where's the harm in that? You're going
to be alive at the end of the day.
Hopefully, you know, there's phenomenon.
You might ask somebody for their number
and they pull it out on you. You know
what I'm saying? I'm not saying it's not
possible. Never happened to me. But I'm
not going to say that it's not possible.
Knock on wood. You know what I'm saying?
But that's the life we live. Got to
control everything. Everything got to be
under these little under these little
scopes in our little algorithm, right?
So easy to scroll on a little for you
page. We have so much control over these
things. We have gotten so used to living
these comfortable lives that we don't
know how to live in that flow. You know
how powerful the flow is to allow things
to be but while also allowing things to
be directing them in the way that you
want to becoming the right person for
the flow that you desire so you can get
in that flow and move. You ever seen a
boxer in their flow? Like I'm talking
about they super saiyan and they're
rolling the punches. It's like poetry
emotion. You ever seen a dancer in their
flow? You ever seen a musician in their flow?
flow?
One of my greatest inspirations, Michael
Jackson had a flow like no other. Prince
had a flow like no other. Jimmyi
Hendricks had a flow like no other.
Jimmyi Hendricks was always trying to
create things and he messed up. Messed
up so well, did so well. Had a flow so
well that people
practice this dude's mistakes. Can you
imagine having a flow so well that
people practice your mistakes because
you weren't afraid to mess up because
you were always trying to create
something new. But it caused you to have
a mistake. But as Bob Bob Ross said,
mistakes are just happy accidents. What
you do after that is what determines
whether it's a mistake or not. Or you
going to fall down and go, "Oh, no. I
didn't mean to." Or you going to keep
going. That adds a little flavor to it.
You know what I'm saying? But that's the
life. We We got to get out of that, man.
Take that action.
People call me all the time, hit me up
all the time, text me all the time,
comment all the time. Man, I wish I
could do what you were doing. You know,
you you just you just got it. You got it
all figured out. You're not scared to
get on camera and blah blah blah blah
blah. And man, I wish I was giving that
When you find the giver, let me
know cuz I need something my damn
Figured out.
You know what the hell it took for me to
build this? You think this just showed
up overnight? Huh? People see the Great
Wall of China. Oh, it always been there.
No, somebody had to build that. You
think I always enjoyed seeing myself on
camera and I was just comfortable just
sitting up here talking or doing whatever?
whatever?
Hell no. But you know what I did? I took
action. I put myself on this camera and
I talked and I showed my face and I
showed many sides of myself that people
never even saw. They think this just
this just happened overnight, right? You
just blew up quick. Been doing this for
a long time, y'all. Y I don't remember
Shiman with the locks. A lot of y'all
Hold it right there. Now put your hands
up. I'm going to take you in. All right,
man. Can't you just let me go?
>> Hell no. You just shot and robbed 48
people. Man, I didn't want to do this,
but I'm broke, so it shouldn't even be a
crime, right?
What did you shoot me for?
>> But I didn't want to do it.
>> But you still shot. >> Ah,
>> Ah,
I understand. Good boy. Yeah, it
happened overnight, right? Yep. Tell
that to this guy. It's
then you shut up. Damn.
>> That's right. See, they listen to that
guy. See, that's a guy we can listen to.
>> See what I'm saying? People don't know
the whole story though. They just see
what they see. You can't blame them. You
know what I'm saying? You can't blame
them. But that's a crutch that a lot of
people fall on. You know, I posted a
video about my guitar. You know, I was
playing my guitar and I see the
comments. Oh man, I wish I could do that
and I wish I could do that. Back to that
wish. What the hell are we wishing for?
Trippy said it best. Baby, what you
wishing for? What are you wishing for
instead of wishing work? But I've been
the same person. I wish I I wish I could
play guitar like that. I wish I could
play that song. You know what I realized
one day? Well, might as well start start
working instead of wish like start
working on it. What what's separating
you you between that person that's doing
what you wish you could do and you
you're not doing it. You're not working.
You waiting for some special advice.
Waiting for this, waiting for that. Work.
Work.
Work. A lot of the things that I wish I
could played years ago. I can play now
because I did what? I started working.
And then, you know, I step up from from
the bedroom and now I go out and people
like, "Man, I want to hear you playing.
I'm petrified. Now I'm overthinking
everything that I'm doing and my fingers
don't move." And I ask myself, "Why why
you scared? What you afraid of? I might
mess up." Yeah, you might. But why are
you so afraid? Because I I I it's like I
don't have it under my fingers right
now. Why?
Cuz I didn't practice enough. Why?
Because it wasn't just easy and
comfortable. Why? Because I've allowed
myself to value comfort more than, you
know, moving on and actually learning
things and, you know, making prog. Why?
Cuz it's easier. That's that's how you
want to live your life. No. So what you
going to do to change? I'm going to
start working. Really? You going to be
consistent though? Yeah. We'll see.
We'll see. And life life ain't going to
sit there and make you be consistent.
The things you want to get into not
going to make you consistent. So what
did I do in the meantime? I practiced
and I practiced and I practiced and I
practiced and I got away from my
instruments. Got away from my guitar,
you know. And then I made my way back to
it. And guess what I did? I put in work.
And then I got an opportunity to play
live. Scared the hell out of me. Now I'm
overthinking. What am I supposed to do?
Am I supposed to How am I supposed to
hold the guitar? I'm losing my mind. So,
what you think I did?
I did this. [Music]
Who else was going to do it for me? Nobody,
Nobody,
nobody was going to do it for me. I had
to do it. But you want to know the
beautiful thing about being
uncomfortable? Never have I ever been in
a situation in my life where I was more
comfortable and learn more than when I
was uncomfortable.
Performing live with guitar is one of
the most uncomfortable situations I've
ever been in. But I have learned so
much. Learned so much about people.
learned so much about energy, learned so
much about just being free. I learned so
much about the guitar. I learned more in
three live performances, about music and
playing than I have in my room and
gears. Like, it's a totally different
ballgame when you actually step outside
of your comfort zone. You have to
realize that a lot of times the cage
that you in is something that you built
is polished. It look cool. It's pretty.
It's comfortable. But you're not locked
in there. You can really get out of
there. And it may seem cool and fuzzy on
the inside, but it's not. It's a
beautiful trap. And you will quite
literally die in that trap if you don't
get out of that overthinking and that
fear-based mindset.
Down from religion to school to all
these things. A lot of these things have
been given to us by fear. Now, if you
didn't have that experience, kudos to
you. I'm glad you didn't. And my own
experiences, a lot of things that people
tried to indoctrinate me with was given
to me by fear. Well, if you don't do
this, this is going to happen. If you
don't come to school, this is going to
happen. If you don't learn this, this is
going to happen. You don't believe in
this, this is going to happen. It's
like, bro, where's the love in all of
that? You You can't capture me with
love. It got to be fear.
What's with all this? You got to scare
me into believing something. You got to
scare me into doing something.
Where does that come from?
Easy to control people. H, that's
something to ponder on. So if people use
that same tactic to capture other
people, you think it's any different for yourself?
yourself?
You're overthinking. You're being
captured by fear to the point where you
have captured your own self. You have
captured your own essence and you don't
take enough action in your life to
negate that. You sit there and you stay
in your head and you wonder why you are
in shambles. You got to act. You got to
get out of that fear. What are you
actually afraid of?
Are you more afraid of messing up? Are
you more afraid of being seen trying
than to never succeed at all?
Really sit with yourself and wonder
about that. Are you more afraid to talk
to this person, to be rejected,
than you are to never make a connection
with this person
than the idea of never having a
opportunity to see this person again?
having never having the the chance to
fulfill the destiny that you and this
person may have. You more afraid to get
embarrassed for them to not say hello
back, not say hey back.
What are we actually doing with our
lives? You thinking too much for your
own good. It's not it's not doing you no
good. You got to start acting.
And that doesn't mean you have to live
on top of the Empire State Building
every day and oh Shaman said do I'm
going to do it all every day. You don't
have to do that. There's days when you
need to sit the hell down and lay down.
But there's also times when you need to
get the hell up. Simple. And there's
outlets that you can indulge in that
will quite literally clear your mind of
thinking. Fishing is one of my favorite.
The outdoor life saved me from a heartbreak
heartbreak
to some capacity. I was going through it
in shambles. My pops got up one morning
and I was up just zombieing around. He
was like, "What's going on?" Oh, I was
like, I'm chilling. I ain't going to
sleep. Said, what you about to get into?
Said I'm going to go hunting. I said
that ass. I said, give me, you got 15
minutes. Said, no matter, make it 10.
I'm good. I I got brush my teeth, put
on, you know what I'm saying? I went
hunting that day. And after that, we
started going fishing again. This is
like I went through high school just
going through football and then working
and stuff. I didn't make the time didn't
make the time to do these things that I
did that brought me peace when I was
young. And I started to do those things
with him again and it became a
consistent thing and my overthinking
started to disappear. I forgot that I
was even heartbroken. I'm in here like,
man, that oak tree is so be Look at that
squirrel. That squirrel. Look at them
squirrels up there. Damn. I'm supposed
to be heartbroken [Music]
action outlet.
outlet.
I don't know if you realize it, but you
are a ball of energy.
And what isn't being spit out is just
being recycled.
And when you think things, when you say
things, you are attracting energies.
And not every one of those pieces of
molecules of energy deserve attention.
You can't control the bird that flies
over your nest, but you you can't
control the bird that flies over your
head, but you can control whether they
lay a nest or not. I'm going say it
again for the people in the back. You
can't control how many birds or which
bird fly over your head, but you can
control whether it lays a nest or not.
I've been on some of the most beautiful
hikes on high elevation. Walking by the
edge and my brain says jump off.
Oh, let me turn my damn radio t signal
somewhere. That ain't my thought. I
don't know who the hell that was. Not
mine. Was it influenced by a movie, a
song, my ancestor? I don't know. That
ain't my thought. I observe them. Go
have to see your way out. It's a door
right over. Matter of fact, we f to
exile you. We going to make a we going
to make an example out of you. That
ain't my thought. So, you have to
understand you are not your thoughts
and you're not enslaved to them. You own
the right to sort what you like, keep
it, and dish out the rest. But make sure
that you're doing enough things to have
some clarity in your mind. If you're
sitting in the dark all day, and I mean
that literally, spiritually, mentally,
you're never going to see the light. As
simple as that.
You understand what I'm saying? So, in a
very short period of time, I'm about to
go fishing because I need a a little
more clarity in my life. You think I'm
going to be out there on the boat
thinking about, man, I wonder what she
doing and wonder where she at and uh uh
man, I need a Lamborghini in in 6 months
or I'm a failure cuz some dude on TikTok
got one. It might be rented, but I don't
know the difference. I just think that
life is sweet and this should I got to
compare myself to I ain't worried about
none of that. For one, I'm not trying to
fall in that water. Two, man. Look, look
at that bird, man. Bird is really
dinosaur, man. Look at that sun, man.
Man, that view so pretty. I ain't never
caught this fish before, man. Fish h
water. Thinking about nothing.
Nothing and everything at the same. I'm
thinking about everything that I need to
be thinking about, which is what's right
in front of me, present in the moment. A
bad day of fishing is better than a good
day of work any day. But I'm at peace.
So my advice to you is find things in
your life, outlets to give some energy
to because as people, we are creatures
of passion. We are creatures of connection.
connection.
And if you don't connect with something,
something will connect to you or you
will plug into something. That energy
has to go somewhere. You ever notice
people that don't have hobbies, they
they passionate about
passionate about drama cuz they have to
get that energy off somewhere. Low
vibrational is easier. Coming in the
house yelling about nothing, worrying
about all the wrong things, starting
drama. They don't have nothing to do.
That's their life. That's their passion.
That's their hobby. So for you, if you
don't control that that worm in there
causing you to overthink and if you
don't step in the driver's seat, you're
going to drive yourself in a hole. And I
don't want that for you. So
that's my advice to you, my friend. I
love you. I appreciate you. I'm glad you
supported me through it all. And so I
got to I got to return the favor.
That's what I'm about to do. Start
playing a few tunes, relaxing myself,
and then getting on with my day. So
yeah, I'll take it easy. It's your boy
Shaman Davis. I'm out of here. [Music]
