0:04 all of First John all five chapters is
0:06 written to Believers so that sets in
0:08 context you've got to keep that in mind
0:11 first John 2 1 my little children these
0:13 things right eye unto you that ye do what
0:14 what
0:17 sin not now well no carefully who's it
0:19 written to If any man sin would have an
0:21 advocate with the father Jesus Christ
0:23 the righteous see that
0:26 see that but the Bible says plainly he
0:29 that is born of God cannot sin the
0:32 reason it cannot sin is because his seed
0:34 remaineth in him now it's remarkable
0:37 that John uses the term seed
0:39 you know there's a seed of the woman and
0:42 the seed of the serpent remember that in
0:45 John 8 44 he said to these to these Jews
0:47 of his day ye are of your father the
0:50 devil Bob says that my life is hid with
0:53 Christ in God think about that for a
0:57 minute now my life is hid in God now
0:59 think about it the Bible said he that is
1:02 born of God cannot sin for his seed
1:04 remaineth in him well it says in first
1:06 John 1 if you say you have not sinned
1:09 you call God a liar yes exactly right
1:11 which tells me that John's talking about
1:14 two Natures he's talking about two parts
1:17 to make up one man this is what Paul's
1:19 talking about in Romans 7 when he says
1:21 with a mind I serve the law of God In
1:24 the Flesh the law of sin the unsaved man
1:28 not so all he is is flesh that's all
1:31 when he sins he sins and he's dead to
1:33 begin with so that's as far as it goes
1:35 but if you're born again tonight your
1:38 spirit which is in Christ in God think
1:40 about this for a minute now could
1:44 something that is hid in God's sin
1:47 think that through think it through
1:51 and no it can't and I am in God my life
1:54 is hid with Christ in God not going to
1:57 be in God in God at this very moment
2:00 and of course a spirit being born of God
2:03 so the scripture says you cannot sin
2:05 first John chapter number three and
2:07 verse number nine if you've been born of
2:10 God see what it says but that which is
2:12 born of God cannot sin in other words
2:15 that spirit that is born of the Holy
2:19 Ghost that is born of God that is hidden
2:22 in God it's impossible for it to sin if
2:23 we say that we have not sinned we make
2:26 him a liar and his word is not in us
2:28 don't you think the Apostle John had a
2:30 reason for putting that in first of
2:32 course he did he builds everything else
2:35 upon this on this doctrine that you're
2:37 not perfect but he begins to open up you
2:40 as the gospel as first John opens up it
2:43 begins to show you your two Natures he
2:45 says that which is born of God cannot
2:47 sin well take what he just said right here
2:49 here
2:52 verse 10 if we say we have not sinned we
2:53 make him a liar
2:55 is that not a contradiction
2:58 of course it's not a contradiction
3:00 what it takes is an understanding of who
3:02 you are
3:04 the Apostle John when he wrote this
3:05 ain't no fool
3:07 is he going to write something like this
3:08 and turn right around and contradict himself
3:10 himself
3:13 if we say we have not sinned we make him
3:15 a liar yet the Bible said he that is
3:17 born of God
3:21 doth not cannot sin
3:23 so horse conflict conflicts in the two natures
3:24 natures
3:26 with a mind I serve the law of Christ
3:29 and with the body of the Flesh and that
3:32 sarcas is flesh and it has not only to
3:34 do with the physical body but it has to
3:36 do with that spiritual Rebellion against
3:39 God the unsaved so there's a conflict
3:41 going on and it'll always be the flesh
3:42 lets us against the spirit and the
3:44 spirit against the flesh these are
3:46 contrary one to another here's something
3:48 else about first John there's not one
3:50 place in first John talking about
3:52 somebody losing their salvation and they
3:54 can lose their life
3:56 send them to death but not their salvation
3:57 salvation
4:00 why because you've literally been born
4:01 of God
4:04 he has sealed you with the Holy Spirit
4:05 of promise
4:09 he has sealed you in Christ and that
4:12 seal cannot be broken he has sealed you
4:15 to Mark you and then he has sealed you
4:17 as an Earnest to The Inheritance
4:20 that Holy Spirit that's in you tonight
4:23 well David said prayed Lord take not
4:25 thine Holy Spirit from me they'll run to
4:27 an Old Testament Passage
4:29 where David said don't take the Holy
4:30 Spirit from me
4:33 but David was not sealed by the Holy
4:35 Ghost and David was not born of the
4:37 spirit of God
4:39 because the New Covenant had not been
4:42 ratified it was not made legal until
4:44 Christ died on the cross
4:47 Hebrews chapter number nine see that the
4:49 Bible does not contradict itself
4:51 notice what he said in Colossians 2
4:53 verse 10 though
4:55 this is important you are complete in
4:58 him which is the head of all
5:00 principality in whom also you are
5:03 circumcised with a circumcision made
5:05 without hands
5:08 so no man did this for you in putting
5:10 off the body of the sins of the flesh by
5:12 the circumcision of Christ what's he
5:14 talking about what do you mean
5:16 circumcision of Christ buried with him
5:19 in baptism Grant also you are risen with
5:21 him through the faith of the operation
5:24 of God who hath raised him from the dead
5:26 and you being dead in your sins and the
5:28 uncircumcision of your flesh hath he
5:30 quickened together with him having
5:34 forgiven you all trespasses the Apostle
5:35 Paul tells you about a spiritual
5:38 operation that took place at the moment
5:41 you were born again your body and soul
5:43 and spirit were separated
5:46 before you were born again your body was
5:50 stuck to your soul and your spirit was dead
5:52 dead
5:57 but a born-again spirit cannot have a
6:00 connection to this unsaved body
6:04 they are enemies of each other there is
6:07 an animosity between the two they are
6:10 never in connection they are mortal
6:13 enemies the spirit of God that dwells
6:16 within me that gives me life has
6:19 regenerated my dead spirit and now my
6:21 spirit has been born of the Holy Spirit
6:24 born of God
6:26 since that happened and it did happen
6:28 when you were saved
6:32 then God did a great favor for me he cut
6:35 me free from this body
6:38 I am no longer my body
6:40 the New Testament makes a subtle
6:44 difference time and time and time again
6:47 between the body of the believer and the believer
6:48 believer
6:51 the Old Testament is not like that and
6:52 the reason the Old Testament is not like
6:54 that is because the believer in the Old
6:57 Testament though A True Believer and
7:00 though saved is not born again
7:04 therefore the body and the Soul are
7:06 spoken of synonymously
7:09 a clear distinction is not made between
7:10 the two
7:13 think about it for a moment if there is
7:14 a difference if the if the Old Testament
7:16 Saint is like the New Testament Saint
7:19 where the spirit is cut free from the
7:21 body then what is the point of
7:22 Colossians 2.
7:25 when he says that he did this when you
7:28 were born again that's the point that's
7:30 why if this was a common knowledge
7:32 there's no sense here this is why to
7:37 Nicodemus Nicodemus you must be born
7:42 again you must be born from above you
7:46 must be born of God Nicodemus you need
7:49 to be saved amen but the Old Testament
7:51 Saint was saved but he wasn't born again
7:55 the new birth was wrought at the cross
7:58 at Calvary when the New Testament the
8:00 new blood Covenant was ratified and
8:02 playing the words it was made legal and
8:04 brought into effect
8:07 not until the Lord Jesus Christ died at
8:10 the cross was the blood Covenant brought
8:11 into effect
8:14 there was no blood shed it was not until
8:18 he shed his blood at the cross that the
8:21 blood Covenant was ratified made legal
8:25 brought binding between God and man in
8:27 order for that blood Covenant to have
8:30 its effect upon you this must take place
8:33 so when the blood covers your sins and
8:36 washes your sins away God Almighty
8:39 performs an operation in you that is a
8:41 one-time operation that never needs to
8:44 be repeated when he circumcises you he
8:47 cuts the flesh away from the spirit and
8:49 the Soul becomes an intermediary the
8:52 soul can touch the Flesh and the Soul
8:54 can touch the spirit you become a tried
8:57 part being there is no clear distinction
9:00 in the Old Testament made about Soul and
9:03 Spirit this is why you they're spoken of
9:06 synonymously but the New Testament makes
9:09 a very clear distinction between Body
9:12 Soul and Spirit and the the reason it
9:14 does is because that Spirit has now been
9:16 born of God will never be unborn of God
9:19 if you've been born again you're born
