0:02 well it's really interesting I've been
0:04 thinking about the AI implementation
0:06 across the government and probably the
0:10 last two major shifts in software AC
0:12 acquisition are probably worth
0:14 Contracting folks thinking hard about
0:17 the first one was uh when we had to
0:20 adapt and adopt to the internet um you
0:22 know that just changed everything from
0:24 you know maybe client server at their
0:26 best or local applications on computers
0:28 and now all of a sudden there was this
0:30 thing called the net and the web and we
0:32 had to build websites in every
0:35 Department that were facing uh users and
0:39 and maybe other government customers and
0:40 probably the next one after that that
0:43 most of us might remember is actually
0:46 the shift to the cloud again another
0:48 major transformation in acquisition and
0:52 and deployment of of services I think
0:54 from both of those we should really be
0:55 thinking about what were the Lessons
0:58 Learned in acquisition and obsolescence
1:01 um in Contracting and the rest that we
1:03 got right and that we also got wrong and
1:05 also what new policies are in place
1:07 since those uh two major shifts have
1:09 happened I would kind of look at those
1:11 as if I was an acquisition professional
1:14 and go boy I wish we would have known X
1:17 when we built website a or used vendor Z
1:19 we had a 10year lockin with software
1:22 that got obsolete in six months the
1:24 world of AI is rapidly evolving it's
1:27 reshaping how we approach procurement as
1:29 acquisition professionals you're being
1:32 tasked to rethink traditional methods
1:34 Technologies like machine learning
1:36 natural language processing and
1:39 automation are now at the Forefront
1:41 demanding that we expand our expertise
1:44 to evaluate and acquire them effectively
1:46 the challenge is clear AI Solutions
1:49 evolve fast much faster than traditional
1:51 products contract management and
1:54 performance evaluation present unique
1:57 hurdles and new considerations in areas
2:00 like intellectual property and security

2:21 these Technologies effectively not
2:23 through coding or deep technical
2:25 expertise but by strategically
2:28 leveraging AI to drive Innovation
2:31 efficiency and better decision- making
2:33 you will have to develop new skills and
2:36 adopt new methods not just to keep up
2:39 but to lead and the truth is this isn't
2:42 about adopting AI it's about making sure
2:46 it's done well you will be the hero who
2:49 ensures the AI projects are ethical well
2:51 planned and align with national
2:54 objectives history has shown us that
