hey everyone today we are tackling a
frustrating Windows problem you have got
unallocated space on your hard drive but
you can't seem to extend your C drive to
use it this is super common but luckily
there is a fix so let's dive
management as you can see I have 225 GB
of unallocated space right here but if I
try to right click on the C drive and
choose extend volume it's grayed out and
on use ible this happens because the
unallocated space is not next to the C
drive Windows often has a hidden
recovery partition between them this
partition is important for system
recovery but it sometimes gets in the
way of extending your SE drive to extend
the SE drive we need to temporarily
disable the recovery partition to do so
please follow the
administrator type the agent C disable
and press enter this will disable the
Windows recovery environment next type
dis part and press
enter type list disk and press
disk type list partition and press
enter look for the recovery partition
it's usually less than 1 GB and labeled
type detailed partition and press [Music]
[Music]
enter copy the partition ID and
attribute from here we'll require these
now type delete partition override and press
[Music]
enter this should delete the recovery
partition now you can extend the C drive
right click on the C drive and choose extend
extend
volume follow the wizard to add the
unallocated space to your C drive
finally we need to recreate the recovery
partition so create a 1GB of empty
go back to the command
prompt type list partition and press
enter select the empty partition that
the recovery partition is now created
however the recovery partition also
appears in the file [Music]
[Music]
manager to hide it from the file manager
prompt type list volume and press
enter note the drive letter of the recovery
recovery
volume then remove the drive letter [Music]
type exit to leave the disk
part finally type reagent enable and
press enter to enable the recovery [Music]
environment that's it your C drive
should now have the extra space don't
