whenever in a group discussion the topic
is announced you will have two to three
minutes to prepare for it before the gd
actually starts let me give you a small
methodology by which you can really
prepare during these two to three
minutes so the technique go by chuckling
says that the moment topic is announced
quickly think in points because you
don't have much time
go is good points ba is bad points cho
is change
is action and ali is learning
so in about two to three minutes write
three to four points for each of them if
you can't think of points for all then
mainly focus on go ba and cho which
means good points bad points and changes

rapid growth of technology has ushered
in an era where social media has
suddenly become a very important
platform of life be it facebook be it
linkedin instagram twitter youtube all
of these platforms have become the
biggest platform through which we are
communicating entertaining and at times
even facing various challenges of our
lives so since time is limited we only
have 15 minutes and it's a compulsory
consensus group discussion therefore may
i request all of us to analyze the
relevance of social media from three
important perspectives number one
economic opportunities which it offers
which would of course also include
threat number two social issues which
includes interaction connectivity and
maybe at times lack of it and number
three since it's often said that health
is a challenge we could discuss about
the health implications so since time is
limited may i invite all my colleagues
to give their valued opinions
so like this an initiator always
introduces the topic
second comes the role of somebody who's
a strong supporter
so how would a supporter talk about the
concept of social media my dear friends
i think we have got a very relevant
topic today and social media is really a
blessing for us and there are five big
reasons why i say that it is a blessing
number one entertainment today whenever
we are in some sort of a pressure the
first thing we can easily reach out to
is social media be it facebook youtube
or google related apps we can find a lot
of fun and entertainment within the
confines of our home number two it's
economical we don't have to pay anything
most of the content is free of cost we
could watch all kind of movies we could
connect with people so it's economical
also number three it's increasing our
friend circle now earlier we couldn't
have imagined to have friendship with
people across nationalities get to hear
the views of people at twitter or get to
know so much knowledge but today thanks
to social media it's very much possible
number four it's a great source of education
education
so many social media apps are today
providing free of cost education on just
about everything and finally number five
i think it's very good for health also
because not just health but almost any
field we are getting so many
opportunities to know about various
things so i sincerely believe social
media is a great blessing
next comes somebody who's a strong opposer
opposer
and the opposer
has to enter in very gracefully so you
could go something like this
my worthy colleague i think you have
presented a very good perspective and i
respect some of your points however i am
afraid that i would also like to mention
a few different points in my view social
media is really occurs because of
various reasons and the first of them is
it causes depression
everybody is posting their best possible
pictures videos and when other people
see them it leads to a sense of
inferiority complex and therefore leads
to depression so many instances of
suicide health problem mental problem
are happening because of social media
the second is it's drawing people away
from traditional sports physical
activity exercise and is therefore
leading to obesity eye problem health
problem why because people are getting
addicted to social media number three
social media is a very dangerous tool
because a lot of political or other
business forces are using it as a
divisive tool for promotion and dividing
people for their own gains we have seen
the allegations against russia in the
case of president donald trump and so
many other times when various apps have
been accused of being extremely biased
number four it's also true that lot of
false propaganda happens over here so
people could just be spelling any kind
of a canard or lie and the world would
actually believe as if it's true and
finally the biggest opposing factor for
this is the veracity of the content
which is posted is almost negligible
anybody could post anything and people
would probably believe it and therefore
be misled so in my humble view social
media is really very dangerous and it
really needs to be curtailed
so now friends you had an initiator
a supporter and an opposer
then when the gd becomes really better
comes the number four harmonizer
who tries to take a middle path and
suggest action for future
please remember quite often it's not
necessarily true that you may have only
these rules there could be some mix of this
this

social media has come as a mix back
there have definitely been some good
things it has spread education
entertainment economical and at the same
time there have been instances of
depression people being misled having an
adequate value towards it and at times
spreading false propaganda however may i
propose to both of you that there are
some other benefits like linkedin as a
social media app is today the greatest
tool for job search
promoting your businesses
anybody who is just a one-man person a
simple entrepreneur with no funds could
use social media to start up the
business and potentially reach to
millions of people without spending even
one penny
so therefore i really want to request
both of you and the entire group that
let us accept that social media is a
mixed bag which has a lot of good things
but at this times there are dangerous
things therefore what is important is
mature guidance so probably parental
guidance or at times professional
guidance to use social media with
discretion could be very welcome
so this is where a harmonizer has given

that it is addictive
it can spread false information and it
can be a health hazard because it is
drifting people away from real life
relationships family relationships so
all in all the group concluded that
while it's difficult to say social media
as purely evil or purely a blessing but
we can say that it's a mixed bag and
therefore the good proposed that we
should do three important
recommendations number one especially
for the vulnerable segment like the
adolescent or the young teens parental
guidance is recommended number two for
senior professionals in order for social
media not to become an addiction it's
advisable that the usage time can be
curtailed and finally
the group strongly believes that we must
recommend the various apps and medias to
put disclaimers that the information
especially on issues like health and
various care taking issues is definitely
not something which comes with a formal
veracity and is therefore to be treated
with caution and people should use their
own judgment while using it
