So, today we are going to be making a shirt. This is a heart stitch. Is a six row repeat. As you
can see, we started here and we repeated the same the first row here. So this is row one, row two,
row three, row four, row five, row six. So this is what we are going to do till we get
to our desired length. And this stitch is a multiple of 18 + 8. Make it a multiple
of 18 plus eight chains. So you're going to make a chain that is equivalent to your bust measurement.
Get your tape measure and take your own measurements. I'm using this customized
cotton and mix of polyester yarn and this a fingering weight yarn. And all we need is our
yarn cutter, stitch markers. We're going to be using 3 mm crochet hook because I'm using
fingering weight yarn. But if you're using any other yarn, make sure you using the hook size
that is suitable for the yarn. Take a measurement of your bust. I'm going to work for size large,
which is 42 inches bust measurements. I'm going to make a chain that is a multiple of 18 + 8 that
is equivalent to 42 inches and I will come back to meet you. I'm back and I have 42 inches chain
plus 8. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. So, I'm not going to be working into this V. I'm
going to turn it the way we normally do in our tutorial. Turn it and work
into the back bumps. Skip one 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. Into the ninth one,
you go in and double crochet.
Yarn over, go into the next stitch, double crochet,
work seven double crochet. You chain two, skip two, seven double crochet. You chain two,
skip two, and seven double crochet till we get to the end. So, 1 2 3
4
5
seven. So we have 1 2 3 4 5 6 7. Once you have seven, you chain two,
you yarn over, you skip two, one, two, and work into the next stitch.
So work seven, chain two, skip two, work seven, chain two, skip two till you get to
the end and I'll come back to meet you. I'm back and this is what I have. So row two,
chain up three and turn your work. Yarn over, put extra two double crochet in that space.
Chain two, yarn over, skip one, two, go into the third one and double crochet.
Yarn over into the second stitch.
Yarn over into the third one.
And this is what we have. Chain two, yarn over,
go into that space, that chain two space, and put four double crochet.
you put three double crochet. When you skip two, put one 2
and three. So you skip one, two, you put 1 2 3 and skip one, two, and go into the next space.
So chain two, yarn over, go into the next space. Here we did four double crochet. The
next space we going to do just three double crochet. When we get to the next one, we put
four double crochet. When we get to the next, we put three double crochet. So when we put four,
we put three on the next space. When we put four, we put three on the next space. Don't forget that.
So here we have four. This will be three. So chain two. Go into that space with three double crochet.
1 2. You yarn over. You skip one 2 and you double crochet in 1 2 3.
3 you chain two. You skip two and go into this space. And here we did just
three double crochet. This next one will be four.
1 2
3
4. You chain two, you yarn over, you skip one, two, and double crochet into one, two,
three, and skip these two again. So skip one, two, go into the third one.
You chain two. You yarn over. We had four double crochet here. So here will be three. You put one,
2,
3. You chain two, you yarn over, you skip one, two, put three double crochet, you skip one,
two, and put four double crochet here because here is three. This is how you
are going to be doing it till you get to the end. And I'll meet you there.
I'm at the end of the row. Chain five. That is double crochet. Chain two. Chain five and turn
your work. Yarn over. Go into that chain two space and put three double crochet.
Chain two. Yarn over, go into the next space and
put two double crochet. We have three double crochet here. Here we're going
to put two double crochet beside the four double crochet in one stitch.
Put two double crochet there instead of three double crochet. Yarn over.
Go into the next stitch and double crochet. Yarn over
into the next double crochet. Yarn over into the next double crochet.
So the four double crochet in one space we get four double crochet.
You yarn over into that chain two space beside
the four double crochet. Put another two double crochet
just like we did here. We put two double crochet here. And when we come to this side,
we're going to put two double crochet beside that four double crochets. Chain two. Yarn over,
go into the next stitch and put three double crochet. The only space that is
getting two double crochet is the both space beside the four double crochet.
Apart from that, any other one is getting three double crochet. Chain two.
Chain two. This is beside four double crochet. We're going to put two double crochet here
and two double crochet here. But any other space will be getting three double crochet.
You work like that till you get to this space that you did four double crochet. You put two
double crochet here and two double crochet here. Apart from this four double crochet,
any other chain two is getting three double crochet each. So be conscious of that.
1
2
3
four.
This side you put two double crochet.
Because here is where the hat will be forming. This space is where the hat will be forming.
So whenever you get to the side of this hat, the two chains beside the both side we get two double
crochet, two double crochet. Why every other space will be getting three double crochet?
Chain two. So you're going to put three double crochet in the next space.
So we get to where we have four double crochet.
Three double crochet,
chain two, yarn over, and this is four double crochet. So here we get two double crochet.
And these four stitches will get double crochet each.
Two double crochet.
Chain two, yarn over till you get to the end and I will meet you. I'm at the end of the row. Chain
three and turn your work. Yarn over, go into that first stitch with two more double crochet because
the chain three stands as double crochet. So what we have here is three double crochet. You chain
two, you yarn over, go into the next space before the heart shape where the heart shape is forming
and put two double crochet. Remember I said that is only the two spaces beside the heart shape.
We'll be getting two double crochets. Two double crochet. So two double crochet. You yarn over,
put double crochet in each stitch. When you get to this space, you put two double crochet. So,
where this chain two space here beside the heart shape, yarn over and put two double
crochet in that space instead of three because it's beside the heart shape. So, it's getting two
double crochets. Chain two, yarn over, go into the next stitch, and put three double crochet.
So, we're going to put three double crochet in each space till we get to the chain two space next
to the heart shape. Chain two, yarn over into the next space, which is the space beside the heart
shape. Here we get to you double crochet till you get here. You put two again. You put three double
crochet and continue like that till you get to the end. And I'll meet you. I'm at the end of the
row. chain three plus two that is five and turn your work. Yarn over. Go into this space with two
double crochet because it's the space right beside the heart shape. So go in with two double crochet.
Yarn over into the next stitch.
into the next double crochet.
Double crochet till you get here. You put two double crochet. You chain two. We're in
row five. And we have 16 double crochets that is forming the heart. So total of 16. And this
is what we have. You chain two. Yarn over. Go into the next space with two double crochet.
You put 12 double crochet in this 12 double crochet. And you put two double
crochet in this chain two space. This is what we have. So continue like this till
you get to the end. and I'll meet you at the end. I'm at the end of the row. Chain up five
and turn your work. We're going to repeat the same thing as of row five. This is row six.
Yarn over. Go into the next stitch and double crochet. Because we have 16 double crochet here,
we're going to do 16 double crochet, chain two, 16 double crochet, chain two,
16 double crochet. So, we are repeating the same thing as row five all the way to the
end. And I'll come back to meet you. I'm back and this is what we have. So, this is the six
rows and this is what we are going to be repeating over and over till we get to our armpit. So what
determines the length under your armpit is how long you want your shirt to be. For me,
it will be a kind of crop shirt. So I'm going to work it till I have 8 in. So I have 8 in. Then
I'll start creating the arm holes and the neckline. So it depends on what you want.
You can make your own up to 11, 12, 13, 14 under armpits length depending on how long you want your
shirt to be. So from now on we are going to repeat row one on top of this one. Row two, row three,
row four, row five, row six. We go back to row one. So the next row which is the seventh
row is exactly what we did in row one. So what we going to do? You are going to chain five. 1 2
3 4 5 that is double crochet. Chain two. You yarn over. Go into the first double crochet
and do your double crochet. Yarn over into the second with double crochet. Yarn over.
Three.
4
5
6
7.
You chain two. Yarn over. You skip to one. Two. Go into the third one.
and put more seven double crochets.
2
3
4
5
6
7.
You chain two, yarn over, skip the chain two, go into the next double crochet, and put seven double
crochet, chain two, seven double crochet. So when you put seven double crochet, just like in row
one, when you put seven double crochet, you chain two, you skip two, and seven double crochet again.
Work like that till you get to the end. And you
will continue going on and on till you have your desired length. 1 2 3 4 5 6
7 1 2 skip two into the third one. Go on and do seven double crochet in the next
seven stitches. You chain two again, skip the chain two, and go into the next stitch.
So go on and on. Keep repeating row one, row two, row three, row four, row five,
row six, till you have your desired length.
I'll come back when I have 8 ines length, which is under my armpit.
This is what we have.
So the next row will be this row two. We going to be putting four here instead of
three. Don't forget that. So go on and on and I will meet you
when you have your desired length. I'm back. And this is what I have. So from
here as you can see I have put stitch marker here and stitch marker here.
And this will be the back part. The back part has 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
parts for my size and the front part have 1 2 3
and 1 2 3. Yours must not be like this. Just find your middle part and fold it and get the
two front panel. Make sure that the same number of heart that is in this part is in this part. And we
have extra one heart at the middle here. That will give room for us to work the where the button hole
will be. So make sure you divide yours the way it will be okay for you. Fold it into two. When
you're folding it into two, it must not be with the heart. You must not number it with the hat.
It can be this way. Anyh how you want it, but just give a room where your button holes will be. So
when you divide it into half, you put your stitch marker, which is what I did. When you put your
stitch marker, now what I'm going to start doing is it's either I start working the front part or
I start working the back part. But from now, I work here separately till I get to my shoulder.
And from here to here, I work here separately till I get to my shoulder. So for the back part,
we have two chains here. I'll start working with the one chain. Chain up and go back till I get to
this end. I'm going to cut the yarn, reattach on this chain two. I will use the chain one space and
leave the chain one for the front panel. And we are attaching this chain one. So, we'll be working
back and forth till we have 10 inches, which will be my back panel. So, I'll go into the middle,
chain up three, yarn over, go into the same space, and put double crochet. You chain two, yarn over,
skip two, because that is the that is where we are. We repeating this row. So, so because of the
row I am in which is row two. So, I'm going to repeat row two which is chain two, skip two,
three double crochet, chain two, skip two, three double crochet. The only place that is getting
four double crochet is the middle of the hat. So, that is what I'm going to do on this row and I
have already split it. This will be for the front row uh front panel and I'm working on the back
panel till I get to where my stitch marker is. So whenever you divide yours, make sure of the
row you are dividing it and make sure you split it well and I'll come back to meet you when I get to
the end of the other stitch marker. I'm at the end of the row for the back panel. I'm going to chain
up three, turn, and work and repeat row three on this part because that is where I am after this
row. This is the next row. So, I'm going to work it back. I'm going to chain up three, put three
double crochet here, and work the hat. Start creating the hat again. I'll continue working
back and forth till I have 10 in of the back panel and I'll come back to meet you. So go ahead divide
your find where your front panel should begin and the back panel like I showed you and work the back
panel till you have 10 in or more. Just work it till you get to your shoulder and I'll come back
to meet you. I'm back and this is what I have. This is where we stopped before working the back
panel. So this side is the front panel. So this is what I have. I added additional 10 inches as
you can see. And I stopped at this three double crochet, chain two, four double crochet in the
middle of the hat, and three double crochet row. So that is where we stopped, which is the second
row, which is the second row here. So that is what I have. And that is where I ended my that is the
row I ended my back panel. And I will do the same for the front panel. So for the front panel,
I'm going to work here back and forth to this chain two here. Work it back
and forth till I have two hearts remaining. I will start reducing to get the neckline.
I will do one part and come back to show you. I'm back. So, I have worked
the front panel from where we stopped up to the shoulder. And this is what I did.
I continued where we stopped, which is here, and work the same stitch back and
forth till I get to the two hearts before the shoulder. As you can see from here,
after that same stitch where we stop at the shoulder where I had my three double crochet,
chain two, three double crochet, chain two, four double crochet in the middle of the hat.
So I'm going to work this part to show you what I did there. I'm going to work it to remaining
this 4 inches reduction to the shoulder. From the reduction to the shoulder is 4 inches. So
work the front part back and forth till you have 4 inches before your shoulder.
When you want to start working again on this, you are going to turn and attach your yarn from
this chain two. Just like here we started with the chain three and one double crochet. So go ahead,
chain three,
yarn over, go into the same space with double crochet.
You chain two.
Yarn over, skip two.
and put three double crochet.
Chain two.
In between this part, you put four double crochet. Just like that. You get to the end. Work the next
row till you come back to this two double crochet. I'll show you what to do there. I'm at the end of
the row where we did our first two double crochet. That is chain three and double crochet. So,
what you're going to do is you chain one instead of chaining two, chain one, yarn over, go into
that chain three, which count as double crochet, and put double crochet on the third chain.
So, this split side, which is the armpit part, we'll be getting two double crochet,
chain one at the end. It's either it get two double crochet or it will get chain
three double crochet which count as um double crochet depending on the row you are in as we
ended with chain one double crochet. We're going to chain three, turn our work, yarn over and put
one double crochet on that chain one. You chain two and continue your normal three double crochet.
Don't forget that uh wherever we have this hat, we do two double crochet by this side. Work into
all the double crochets and two double crochet at the end. And we'll continue with our three
double crochet, chain two, three double crochet. Work like that till you have four inches to your
full length. So work till you get to that place. I'll come back to show you how to do that. I'm
back and this is where I am. We start reducing from this part. 1 2 3. You turn your work and
you will not do the chain two. Just go into the next space and put your three double crochet.
You chain two. Yarn over. Go into the next space. That is where we will start forming
another hat. So go into the next space, put two double crochet instead of three
because it's beside that four double crochet that is forming the hat.
When you put two double crochet, yarn over,
go into the four double crochet and put double crochet each
and continue work down and come back to this part. I'll show you how to reduce
again. I'm at the end of the row. Instead of chaining two and going into this space
with one double crochet, what I'm going to do is I'm going to just yarn over,
go into this first stitch of that three double crochet and do double crochet.
You chain three and turn your work. Once you turn your work, you yarn over,
go into the same space where you have your chain and pull up a loop. Pass through the first two.
You yarn over again and go into the second stitch. Pull up a loop. Pass through the first two and
pass through the remaining. Continue working normal till you get to the end and return here.
I'll come back to show you how to redo. I'm at the end of the row and I have two stitches. Yarn over,
go into the first one, pull up a loop, pull through the first two. Yarn over again,
go into the second one, pull up a loop, pull through the first two, and pull through the
remaining three. Chain three and turn your work. Yarn over. Go into the same stitch.
Pull up a loop. Pull through the first two. Yarn over. Go into the second one. Pull up
a loop. Pull through the first two. And pull through the remaining three and work double
crochet normal till you get to the end and come back. That is the way you'll be reducing
it gradually. As you can see from here, if you're reducing, don't forget to put these
spaces where they are supposed to be. When you come back to this place, as you can see,
I did reduction and and chain two. Make sure that you are counting the stitches well and I put the
seven double crochet after the chain after the chain two and continue like that till the end
and come back. As you can see, I was so conscious of the spaces where they are supposed to be. So,
don't make the mistake. Make sure as you're going, you are checking where the those spaces supposed
to be. I will be back when I'm done and I'll come and show you how I did this part. I'm back.
I have worked to the shoulder. Now I will show you how we going to join the both panel
together on the shoulder part. Flip the work. Turn the back side. Make sure the
both right sides are facing each other. Now attach your yarn. Align the stitches
and secure it with single crochet. Go into the same space.
and slip stitch. When you get the front stitch,
you get the back stitch. Pull up and slip stitch. Go into the second stitch. Go to
the back. Pull up the loop and slip stitch into the next one, which is the third one.
It depends on your own stitches, but make sure you slip stitch. Now,
when you get to that chain two, when you get to that chain two space, you chain two
and go into the next stitch.
Go into the next stitch and slip stitch. Go to the second stitch.
Get the back one. Pull up a loop and slip stitch.
go into the next stitch before the chain two, pull up and slip stitch. Now,
when you get to that chain two again, you chain two and skip the chain two and go
into the next stitch after the chain two. Do that like that till you get to the end. And
I'll come back to meet you. I'm done. And this is what I have. This is what it looks like. I
have succeeded in making the front panel the both side. So I have joined here and
here. Go ahead and join the both sides. And you'll come back for us to work the sleeves.
I'm back. And this is what I did. I worked single crochet right around the sleeves,
both of them. So go ahead work single crochet right around the sleeves. And here as you can see
I worked single crochet two. This is five rows. I started from down here to where we started shaping
the neckline which is here. So that is all I did. This part will be the bottom part while this part
will be the button hole. So what I'm going to do this part is I'm going to work single crochet till
the end here and work back and I will start creating the button hole on the third row and
finish up the remaining two rows making it five rows. So I have done this part. I'll come back to
show you when I'm doing this part when I get to where we'll put button hole. So I have done two
rows and I'm going into the third row which is where we're going to put our button hole. So
that is why I am here to show you how to go about it. The size of the button will determine the size
of the button hole you are going to create. I'm still contemplating if I'll go for the red button
or if I will go for this tiny one. I'll be going for this size. Next, this is what you are going
to do. You use your stitch marker according to the number of button you want to put. So first to
create the button hole because I want to put four button holes. So I have to divide the stitches
into four. You will skip the first stitch and start from the second stitch. So the second and
third stitch is where I'm going to put my first button hole. After that I counted 17 before I put
another stitch marker on the two holes because I'll be creating because I'm using this size of
button. I'm going to be skipping two holes, two stitches to create the button hole. So after the
two stitches, I count out 17 stitches again. After 17 stitches, the next two I put my stitch marker
again. I did the same here. So in between is 17 stitches, 17 stitches, 17 stitches till you have
this little stitches that is remaining here. That is how I like leaving my ch. I'm not going to put
any other button hole here. Here will be free. After that, you chain one and turn your work.
Go into the first stitch and do your single crochet. Then this is where our
button hole will be. And these two stitches you chain two. One, two.
and you skip the two stitches, go into the next one and do your single crochet.
You can remove the stitch marker and put it in the bottom hole you created. You go into
the next stitch, single crochet. Work single crochet till we get to the next stitch marker.
When you get to the next stitch marker where we have two stitches, depending on the number
of stitches you're skipping, if you're skipping three, do skip the three. So, I'm skipping two
stitches. I will chain two, skip the two stitches, and go into the next one and continue my single
crochet as usual till I get to the next stitch marker. I'm at the other stitch marker. Chain two.
skip the two and go into the next stitch and continue with your single crochet till you
get to the next stitch marker. Work like that till you get to the end. For you to
make sure that the button hole will match the button you are using. When you make your first
when you make your first button hole, bring the button you are going to use and test it
on the button hole before you continue. If it's not sizable, you can adjust and chain
like three. If it's too big, you can adjust and reduce your stitches. So, it depends.
I'm at the end of the row. I'll work single crochet back till I get to this
stitch marker where I have my button hole and I'll come back to meet you there. This is the
last stitch before the button hole. go into the bottom hole and put two single crochet
and continue your single crochet till you get to the next button hole. That is how you are going
to be working till you get to the end. When you get to the end, because this is row four,
next one will be the fifth row. When you get to the end, you work back. When you get back here,
you chain one and cut your yarn. And that will be the end of this. I'm back. I'm done with
the button hole. I finish up the remaining two rows. And this is what we have. I have
already put the buttons. Now, let's work the neckline. For the neck, attach your yarn here.
and secure your yarn. Go into the same stitch and
do your single crochet. We're going to work single crochet right round.
When you get to this stitch, go in there with one single crochet. You go into the
space with one single crochet into the double crochet stitch or chain two stitch
with one single crochet. You go into the connecting stitch with one single crochet.
Go into the double crochet stitch
with one single crochet. You find the connecting stitch which is this and put your single crochet.
Work it right around till I meet you here. I'm at the end of the row. Chain three
and turn your work. Yarn over, go into the same stitch
and double crochet. Yarn over into the next double crochet.
Work double crochet till you get to the end.
Double crochet in each stitch till you get to the end. And come back here. So when you are returning
you will have one double crochet here, one double crochet, one double crochet continuously work it
back and forth till you have your desired color length. I'll come back to show you how many I
did. I'm back and I did two rows of the color part. I did two rows of double crochet right
around the collar. And this is the way I'm going to leave it. If you prefer to make it bigger,
you can go on and on and on as big as you want it to be. So now we're going to work the sleeve.
I have done one part already. So I'm going to show you how to go about it. So for the sleeve,
what I did is I worked it in multiple of 18. No additional stitch, just multiple of 18. And what
I have here is five hearts. Go ahead, measure your arm. After measuring your arm, place your
tape measure on one of these hats. Starting from here, you stretch it a little to get the perfect
fitting. So, I'm using 18 in. So, inside that 18 in, I measured from this hat here to this one
here. I now counted the hearts. 1 2 3 4 5 and this stitch is a multiple of 18. I did 18 * 5 because
the hearts in between is 5. So I did 18 multiply by 5 and I got 90 stitches. What I have here is 90
stitches. I work 90 stitches right round in round form and slip stitch somewhere here. and I work
two rows of single crochet. After the two rows of single crochet, I started working this row one,
row two, row three, row four, row five, row six, you chain one and cut your yarn. So when I got
to row six, because on the row six you will have 16 stitches here, I divided it into two to split
it into two. So that I'll start reducing this side and this side to form this shape. So what I did is
when I divided it into two, I got eight stitches for this part and eight stitches for this part.
After dividing it, you start doing double crochet decrease. You will start it with double crochet
decrease and you will end it with double crochet decrease and you work back. When you chain three
and turn, you will do another double crochet decrease and continue your stitches. Make sure
you're getting the stitches the way they are supposed to be. Be mindful of this chain two
gaps. So as you are reducing you are creating the pattern without making a mistake. When you work
and come back here you will do two double crochet decrease. The same thing you will continue doing
it back and forth till you have 14 rows. So I did total of 14 rows. Once you have your 14
rows you will come back and join it. You come back and join it on the part where you created your
armhole. So, this is what I'm going to do for you to attach the sleeve on the armhole. What you're
going to do is you're going to turn the sleeve on the right part. This is the wrong side and this
is the right side. And this is the right side of this shirt. And this is the wrong side. So,
what I'm going to do, I'm going to just bring it in like this. Once you bring it in, you flip
and grab the edge and start working right round with single crochet or slip stitch right round.
We alternating the stitches to make sure you are not getting it wrong. The only thing I
would advise is this place where this um shoulder join, you just find the middle part. When you get
to the middle part, make sure the middle part is on this join. You can use your stitch marker to
hold it together. The same as the bottom part. This place where you started splitting it. Make
sure it align with this end too. You can now work it side by side. That is how I did this part.
I'm done with the sleeves and this is what we have. So go ahead round up sew
in all your ends and this will be the end of this tutorial. Thank you for watching
