0:01 And under those conditions you know
0:03 everything becomes kind of an object
0:05 including life and losing a life or
0:07 taking a life. Uh so the spiritual part
0:10 that helps people appreciate the whole
0:12 their whole their whole being and that
0:15 has associated with it moral values is
0:19 very important because the the the the
0:22 part to say counteracting violence. Now
0:23 there's some people under any
0:25 circumstances would probably not kill
0:28 anybody. Do you realize that there's
0:29 some people who who will probably let
0:31 themselves be killed rather than kill
0:34 somebody? And some of them might be that
0:37 way uh come out that way because they
0:39 have they have moral feelings about
0:42 murder or killing someone and said
0:45 because maybe uh from church or
0:48 something that thou shalt not kill.
0:49 Suppose all the young people out there
0:51 believed in that commandment that thou
0:53 shalt not kill and was part of their
0:56 being and their soul. that would go a
0:57 long way in preventing a lot of
1:00 violence, particularly the violence for
1:01 fun, which I haven't gotten into, which
1:04 I think is also a product of the media.
1:06 That is frequently when you see violence
1:10 in shows, it's part of the fun that the
1:13 people and cartoons that when when the
1:15 when the someone gets hits over the head
1:18 with a with a uh with a hammer and a
1:20 bump pops out, that's the laugh track
1:22 comes in. It's supposed to be funny that
1:25 they get injured. And so there's a whole
1:27 confusion. You read in the newspaper
1:28 something because they're getting a kick
1:31 out of it. It was fun to do to to do
1:33 this thing because uh the media effects.
1:36 Well, I think some of the moral training
1:38 will help counteract some of the push of
1:41 the the of of of the consumerism and the
1:43 TV and the records and so on that push
1:46 kids for having a a twisted value system
1:48 that doesn't value life or that
1:51 encourages them to to to to act out
1:55 violently. So if if I could uh even
1:57 though I'm not the tr I could do if I
1:59 could get everyone to be churchgoers and
2:01 believe and people bringing the kids to
2:03 church and so on, I think it should be
2:14 another you want to stop here one more
2:17 it's up to you. You are my >> huh
2:18 >> huh
2:20 >> I just have one comment I appreciate
2:24 your views and Unfortunat unfortunately
2:26 I'm probably one of those parents and
2:29 half of the parents um who take their
2:32 children to are rated movies and but I
2:35 think I work with them by discussing the
2:37 movie afterwards and that's my way of
2:39 interacting. I take them to see Aladdin.
2:41 I take them to see poetic justice, but I
2:46 teach them how to respect women and how
2:49 they're eight and 13.
2:52 And I just think I'm just and I'm sure
2:54 over half of the parents in here either
2:58 take their children or uh uh let them go
3:00 like you said, drop them off at the
3:02 movie theater. But I believe in
3:05 discussing the views because it's out
3:07 here in the streets and they see it
3:09 every day on the news. They watch the news.
