And under those conditions you know
everything becomes kind of an object
including life and losing a life or
taking a life. Uh so the spiritual part
that helps people appreciate the whole
their whole their whole being and that
has associated with it moral values is
very important because the the the the
part to say counteracting violence. Now
there's some people under any
circumstances would probably not kill
anybody. Do you realize that there's
some people who who will probably let
themselves be killed rather than kill
somebody? And some of them might be that
way uh come out that way because they
have they have moral feelings about
murder or killing someone and said
because maybe uh from church or
something that thou shalt not kill.
Suppose all the young people out there
believed in that commandment that thou
shalt not kill and was part of their
being and their soul. that would go a
long way in preventing a lot of
violence, particularly the violence for
fun, which I haven't gotten into, which
I think is also a product of the media.
That is frequently when you see violence
in shows, it's part of the fun that the
people and cartoons that when when the
when the someone gets hits over the head
with a with a uh with a hammer and a
bump pops out, that's the laugh track
comes in. It's supposed to be funny that
they get injured. And so there's a whole
confusion. You read in the newspaper
something because they're getting a kick
out of it. It was fun to do to to do
this thing because uh the media effects.
Well, I think some of the moral training
will help counteract some of the push of
the the of of of the consumerism and the
TV and the records and so on that push
kids for having a a twisted value system
that doesn't value life or that
encourages them to to to to act out
violently. So if if I could uh even
though I'm not the tr I could do if I
could get everyone to be churchgoers and
believe and people bringing the kids to
church and so on, I think it should be
another you want to stop here one more

I'm probably one of those parents and
half of the parents um who take their
children to are rated movies and but I
think I work with them by discussing the
movie afterwards and that's my way of
interacting. I take them to see Aladdin.
I take them to see poetic justice, but I
teach them how to respect women and how
they're eight and 13.
And I just think I'm just and I'm sure
over half of the parents in here either
take their children or uh uh let them go
like you said, drop them off at the
movie theater. But I believe in
discussing the views because it's out
here in the streets and they see it
every day on the news. They watch the news.
