hi welcome back in this section we will
continue our discussion about data types
and how data types affects our analysis
in Lean Six Sigma we've learned from the
past session that we have different
levels of measurements per measurement
scales in this session we will discuss
data type data type as represented by
continuous data and represented by
discrete data first let's differentiate
the two continuous data is any data that
has been captured or collected coming
from what we call a continuum scale
practically speaking these are
measurable data anything that can be
measured while discrete data our data
the do came from counts or categories
generally categories and afterwards
counted let's take some examples for
continuous data length of a part filled
with of a cereal box
cycle time of production it also
includes your rate your length your high
temperature and anything that can be
measured this will fall under continuous
data on the other hand discrete examples
are number of customer complaints number
of defects number of absent number of
present your test score number of
occurrences number of good units number
of absent people those are all examples
of discrete data their first categorize
and then counted this is the main two
data types that we will be handling as
we talk about Lean Six Sigma data
