0:01 A famous entrepreneur, Alex Ramosi, said
0:03 that the most important money-making
0:05 skill to learn if you're outside the
0:09 United States in 2024 or 2025 is how to
0:12 speak English. So, if you cannot speak
0:14 English, you're literally close yourself
0:16 to a lot of opportunities. And in this
0:17 video, I'll explain what kind of
0:20 opportunities you're missing and also
0:22 I'll explain to you how you can go from
0:24 intermediate to fluent in English in
0:27 just 6 months. My name is Arto. I'm a
0:28 non-native English speaker and I teach
0:30 English learners how to become amazing
0:33 English communicators. I started my own
0:35 YouTube channel one and a half years ago
0:38 and my English was not that great back
0:40 then. But then I improved by making
0:44 videos on YouTube and when I did that I
0:46 started my own coaching business and I
0:48 also created my own school community
0:50 with more than 400 members where I teach
0:53 people how to speak English. So, in this
0:55 video, I'll give you three steps that
0:57 are going to help you become fluent in
0:59 English in just 6 months. So, let's
1:02 start with why you want to become fluent
1:04 before it's too late. First off, you're
1:07 missing out on a lot of opportunities.
1:09 And the biggest opportunity is your
1:12 client. So if you're an entrepreneur or
1:14 if you're a content creator or if you're
1:16 just a creator creating something and
1:18 you want to get clients. So as a
1:19 freelancer for
1:22 example, you will be missing out on a
1:24 lot of clients if you cannot communicate
1:27 your value clearly enough. What it means
1:30 is if you have an amazing product, so if
1:32 your product is amazing, like it's just
1:34 10 out of 10, like you spent a lot of
1:37 time working on it, but you cannot
1:39 communicate the value of your product.
1:41 you cannot explain what this product is
1:45 about in English to other people, then
1:48 this product basically sucks because
1:51 nobody can see the value of it. Okay?
1:53 But if there's a person who can speak
1:55 fluent English, his product kind of
1:58 sucks, but he can just communicate the
2:00 value of it without a problem. Who is
2:03 going to make a sale? You or that
2:06 person? That person is going to make the
2:08 money. So you want to understand that
2:10 you could be missing a lot of
2:12 opportunities just because of your
2:14 English. And not only that, you're also
2:17 missing a lot of income. So the second
2:18 opportunity you're missing out on is
2:21 income. If you want to increase your
2:23 income, you want to sell to rich people.
2:26 What kind of language do rich people
2:28 speak? English, right? They speak
2:31 English. So in my country, in my native
2:34 country, which is Russia, I would be
2:37 getting two times or three times less
2:39 money if I were to become an English
2:41 teacher. I literally tried it, okay? I
2:44 got paid two times le I mean, I even got
2:48 like four times less money for my skills
2:51 just because I was teaching people stuff in
2:52 in
2:55 Russian, right? So you want to get the
2:57 right clients and you want to get the
2:59 international ones instead. if you want
3:02 to get paid more for the same work that
3:05 you're going to do. So then also you get
3:08 a global network. I think this is
3:09 probably the biggest one, the most
3:12 important one because if you have a lot
3:13 of friends in your country, that's
3:16 amazing. If your network in your country
3:19 is big, that's amazing. But what if you
3:20 want to go to a different country? What
3:22 if some kind of bad event happens in
3:24 your country and you want to leave it as
3:27 soon as possible? What's going to
3:29 happen? Well, you have no friends
3:32 outside of your country and that sucks a
3:35 lot, right? You want to have a global
3:37 network. You just you want to just go to
3:39 a different country, have a friend
3:42 there, maybe live there with your
3:44 amazing friends, and maybe even start
3:46 traveling the world, right? And if you
3:48 have friends in every single country,
3:50 that's just going to be amazing for you.
3:53 It's like if you can't pay for rent for
3:54 a couple of days, you can just go to
3:56 your friends, right, in a different
3:58 country. Or if you have a friend in a
4:00 different country and you want to, I
4:01 don't know, maybe let's say grow a
4:02 business with him, you can just do that
4:04 easily. You can move out, you can fly
4:06 out to that person or, you know, there's
4:08 a lot of opportunities that you're
4:12 getting with a global network as well.
4:13 So, how do you get that? You get that
4:17 with fluent English, of course. Then I
4:18 wanted to say that it doesn't take years
4:23 for you to become fluent. So of course I
4:25 instilled a lot of fear into you by
4:27 saying that oh well you don't get a
4:28 global network, you don't get that
4:30 income, you don't get those customers,
4:32 but at the same time it's not going to
4:35 take you years to learn English. That's
4:37 why you want to learn it in 6 months and
4:41 forget about it. Okay? So you want to
4:44 learn English as soon as possible and
4:46 you can do that easily. You can do that
4:49 in 6 months. You can do that even faster
4:52 just because you already understand me.
4:53 You already understand what I'm talking
4:55 about. Maybe you even have read a couple
4:57 of books in English and that's amazing.
5:01 And so now the only thing you need to do
5:04 is to just practice speaking. And this
5:07 way you're going to master your English.
5:09 you're going to become fluent and you
5:11 can do all those amazing things. And the
5:14 last point I want to say is that fear
5:17 grows when you stay silent. So you know
5:19 there's a word called momentum in
5:22 physics or maybe let's say on YouTube.
5:24 Um if you have ever wanted to become a
5:26 YouTuber, you probably know that when
5:28 you upload your first video, you are not
5:31 going to get a lot of views, right? But
5:33 then when you start uploading more
5:34 videos, let's say you uploaded your
5:36 first 10 videos, your first 20, your
5:39 first 30 videos, eventually the momentum
5:41 will pick up and the results are going
5:43 to be exponential, right? There the
5:46 results are going to go like this. And
5:49 so the same thing basically happens with
5:52 everything, not only with YouTube. So
5:53 for example, you didn't speak in English
5:57 for 3 days, nothing bad happens, right?
6:00 But then you did it for 5 days, for 10
6:03 days, for 50 days, for 60 days, for uh
6:06 100 days. And so then the momentum will
6:10 pick up and the fear is going to be
6:13 ruthless. Okay? You're going to fear
6:16 speaking English even more eventually.
6:18 Eventually, you will just get into this
6:21 trap where you can't get out of. It's
6:23 like, h well, I just don't want to speak
6:25 English at all. like this is the thing I
6:27 want to avoid for the rest of my life
6:30 just because it sucks. Okay? When that
6:32 happens, you're literally in that trap
6:35 of the momentum of the fear momentum,
6:38 right? Because fear grows when you stay
6:40 silent. You want to stop being silent
6:42 and you want to start speaking and
6:44 owning your voice in English. Now, let's
6:46 talk about how to actually do that. How
6:48 you can actually own your voice in
6:50 English so you can just speak and
6:52 attract those opportunities. So the
6:55 first thing you want to do is you want
6:58 to join some kind of clubs or social
7:00 events where people speak in English. I
7:03 know maybe that sounds a bit uh too much
7:05 of an ask, right? It's like go go go to
7:08 clubs, go to English speaking clubs, but
7:11 that has helped me a lot. And it doesn't
7:14 have to be an English club. It could it
7:16 could be like a Zoom meeting with people
7:18 where they are talking about your
7:19 favorite topic. It could be business for
7:22 example. Maybe they are native speakers
7:25 and maybe they are talking about a topic
7:26 that you're interested in. Maybe it's
7:28 like a mentorship program or something
7:30 like that where you can just talk to
7:33 other people, right? Or where you can
7:35 just listen to other people speaking on
7:37 Zoom meetings. This is really valuable,
7:39 I'm telling you. So, you can just go to
7:41 that Zoom meeting. You can turn off your
7:44 camera. You can turn off your microphone
7:46 and just listen to them. I'm telling
7:48 you, this is this is the thing that's
7:50 going to help you a lot. So by just
7:52 listening to other people speaking, you
7:54 understand that it's not that scary to
7:56 listen to people in English and to
7:59 communicate with them. And so eventually
8:01 you will turn on your camera, you will
8:03 turn on your microphone and you will try
8:06 to say something yourself. You'll try to
8:09 speak to those people. And this way you
8:11 will eventually grow your confidence to
8:14 talk to them even more.
8:17 But in the beginning, you want to avoid
8:20 um a lot of conversations because you
8:22 could be an introvert or an extrovert.
8:24 If you're an extrovert, that's amazing.
8:26 And you probably already started going
8:28 on calls and it's not a problem for you
8:29 to talk to people in English. That's
8:32 amazing. But at the same time, you
8:34 probably still have difficulties
8:36 communicating with them. You still yap
8:38 too much. You know, yapping is like u
8:41 just saying a bunch of nonsense in in a
8:43 language, right? So, you're probably
8:45 yapping too much when you're talking to
8:46 other people and you want to avoid that.
8:49 You want to have a fluent conversation.
8:51 And so, you also want to kind of limit
8:54 the amount of speaking you have and you
8:57 want to listen to people more. Listen,
8:59 listen, listen. Because the thing is we
9:02 have two ears and one mouth, right? And
9:06 so, we want to first listen more. And
9:09 listening to people who are going on
9:11 Zoom meetings or listening to people in
9:13 real life on speaking clubs, let's say
9:15 in English is going to help you a lot
9:17 more because these are real
9:20 conversations with real people. These
9:22 are not some kind of this is not some
9:24 kind of a podcast. This is not some kind
9:26 of a YouTube video where you're talking
9:27 we're not talking to a person where
9:30 you're just listening and the person has
9:32 prepared a script. No, it's just a
9:35 normal real conversation. So when you
9:37 listen to those kinds of conversations,
9:40 it becomes easier for you to go on calls
9:42 to talk to real people and eventually
9:44 you start doing it
9:47 yourself. When that happens, well, guess
9:49 what? Now you can actually attract those
9:51 opportunities. Even if your English is
9:53 not as confident as you want it to be,
9:56 you already take a lot of action. Then
9:59 you actually want to practice speaking.
10:01 But how do you do that? So it's like you
10:03 started going on calls. Sometimes maybe
10:05 you speak to people but it's not a lot
10:06 and you want to get some kind of a
10:09 speaking opportunity. So right now in
10:12 2025 I think everybody has their own
10:14 YouTube channel already, right? Almost
10:16 everybody of course. So every person
10:18 nowadays has some kind of a social media
10:21 platform that they use in order to post
10:23 some kind of content that they produce.
10:25 You know it could be like a different
10:28 blog or it could be a YouTube channel or
10:30 maybe even Tik Tok account. I don't
10:33 know. or it could be just like an ex
10:36 profile where they like to post some uh
10:38 messages or something, right? It could
10:41 be a lot of different things. So, you
10:44 want to find your own favorite uh social
10:46 media that you are already using right
10:50 now and try to post there something. Try
10:52 to post there some kind of valuable
10:55 content in English and that's going to
10:56 help you a lot. And I'm going to explain
10:58 how to do that. By the way, I know it
11:00 sounds difficult. It sounds like, what
11:01 the hell are you trying to say? Like,
11:03 should I start my own YouTube channel?
11:05 No, I'm not saying that you should start
11:06 your YouTube channel if you don't want
11:08 to. But if you do want to, you can do
11:10 that and that's going to help you a lot
11:12 because it has helped me a lot. And I'm
11:14 going to explain how to do that without
11:16 even like starting your own social media
11:19 if you want to. So, the first thing you
11:21 want to do is you want to consume some
11:24 kind of content. So, you want to consume
11:26 content on the subject that you're
11:27 interested in. And it could be
11:29 self-improvement, it could be business,
11:30 it could be gardening, it could be
11:32 speaking English or something else. And
11:35 so when you consume content on this
11:37 specific topic, you can make videos on
11:39 that as well. So the second step would
11:42 be to take some notes on this video. For
11:44 example, you have consumed the video
11:46 about self-improvement, top five habits
11:47 to improve your life or something like
11:50 that, right? And then you can just take
11:53 notes on that. So you're taking notes on
11:55 those five habits. So you literally take
11:59 like five or seven or 10 notes on this
12:01 video and then you have an entire script
12:05 ready that you can use and film your own
12:08 video which is amazing right? So you can
12:11 use these notes to film your own video
12:13 maybe even provide some stories inside
12:16 um the script so we can make a better
12:19 video and like share your own stories on
12:21 camera and then just simply press record
12:23 when you're done with the script. And
12:25 when you when you're done with watching
12:28 that video, so when you consume when you
12:30 take notes and when you start recording
12:32 yourself on camera, that's how you
12:34 basically improve your English. First,
12:36 you practice listening, then you
12:38 practice reading because you're like
12:39 writing a script. You also practice
12:41 writing at the same time. And then
12:43 you're practicing speaking by recording
12:45 that video, right? So, we want to
12:47 practice speaking. Of course, that's the
12:50 main goal here. And so when you watch
12:52 the video first, you already understand
12:54 what to speak about because a lot of
12:56 people they don't even know what to
12:58 speak about on camera, right? It's just
13:00 difficult to understand like what should
13:02 I talk about? Okay, I want to improve my
13:03 English on camera, but I don't know what
13:05 to say. It's like the most common
13:08 concern for people. Well, just talk
13:10 about the content that you have watched,
13:12 right? You don't need to talk about your
13:14 morning routine or about the thing that
13:15 you're going to do tomorrow or about
13:18 your plans. You can just talk about the
13:20 content that you have watched on YouTube
13:24 because you consume every day, right? So
13:26 after you have recorded the video, you
13:28 want to get feedback. So you want to get
13:31 feedback from someone. It could be your
13:32 English teacher if you have an English
13:35 teacher. It could be you, right? You can
13:37 just get feedback by re-watching the
13:39 video yourself or you can just send this
13:42 video to a friend. And this way you're
13:43 going to get feedback on your video. And
13:46 when you get feedback on your video,
13:48 this way you will level up. So the next
13:50 time, for example, your friend said to
13:51 you, "Oh, you made this mistake here."
13:53 So, uh, maybe you can say it a bit
13:55 differently. And so the next time you're
13:58 recording a video, you stop making that
14:00 mistake and you say it differently.
14:01 Maybe, for example, you say too many
14:05 filler words. For example, okay, maybe
14:09 um so you know uh yeah like uh so when
14:11 you say these words and your friend says
14:13 to you that you say these words too much
14:15 or let's say you you watch your own
14:17 video and you see that you that you have
14:19 used a lot of these words the next time
14:21 you're recording a video you can be more
14:24 mindful of that and so you start saying
14:28 less filler words and more actual words
14:31 and this way you speak better English
14:34 and so when When you start practicing
14:36 recording yourself on camera, when you
14:39 start improving your articulation by
14:41 simply talking on camera, explaining
14:44 different ideas, this way you can
14:47 literally become fluent in 6 months if
14:49 you do it consistently every single day.
14:51 Okay? Like I'm not saying that you can
14:53 do this that you should do this every
14:55 day. You can do it literally once a week
14:58 or twice a week or three times per week.
15:00 And this way you will already make a lot
15:03 of gains. But the thing is, it just
15:06 takes you like 20 minutes, okay? It
15:08 takes you 10 minutes to watch the video.
15:11 It takes you 1 minute to write down a
15:13 simple script for a video. And it takes
15:15 you, I don't know, 5 to 10 minutes to
15:16 record a video. So, it literally takes
15:19 like 20, 25, maybe 30 minutes to record
15:23 one video. Okay? It doesn't take you a
15:26 lot of time. And so, it's not going to
15:27 be that difficult to record a video
15:30 every single day if you want to. You can
15:32 do that for 5 minutes or 10 minutes a
15:35 day. And this way, you're going to level
15:36 up your English tremendously. If you do
15:38 that every day, you're going to make a
15:40 lot of progress. And this is literally
15:42 the number one way to improve your
15:46 English in 2025. Yeah, that's a pretty
15:47 cool title for a new video. Now, you
15:50 probably understand how you can improve
15:52 your English, how you can level up your
15:54 speaking. Now, let's talk about the
15:56 pronunciation part. This is really
15:58 important because well, if you can
16:00 communicate, if you can articulate
16:04 fluently in English, but you cannot
16:06 pronounce words, you're still going to
16:09 sound like a non-native speaker and
16:12 people will notice that. And guess what
16:14 happens? You have less opportunities.
16:15 Clients don't trust you. And you know,
16:17 there's just a lot of stuff that could
16:19 happen if you have bad pronunciation.
16:21 And of course, your confidence will be
16:24 lower just because, well, uh, I'm not
16:25 sure about my pronunciation. It just
16:27 sucks, right? I have my own technique
16:28 that I use in order to improve
16:31 pronunciation for my students. So, I
16:33 struggle with pronunciation a lot. And
16:35 this technique has helped me and now it
16:38 helps my students as well. And to be
16:41 honest, I give this technique to them
16:45 for one month and then after that, we
16:47 don't even use it. wouldn't even level
16:49 up our pronunciation because it just
16:53 helps a lot and then you can like you
16:54 can really forget about your
16:56 pronunciation like after a few months if
16:58 you want to by practicing this
17:01 technique. It's extremely useful and you
17:02 can definitely improve your
17:05 pronunciation really fast if you use it.
17:08 So the first step would be to get a
17:10 transcript of your favorite podcast or
17:13 video. So you simply get a transcript of
17:16 the video that you want to uh shadow on
17:19 that you want to repeat words
17:22 from. So to do that I'm going to leave a
17:25 link in description for a tool that can
17:27 help you like get transcripts or of
17:30 videos or uh podcasts. So when you get
17:33 this transcript, this big transcript or
17:36 video, you can paste it into Google Doc,
17:39 let's say, or you can paste it in like a
17:41 text editor or something, right? So you
17:44 can just see it, okay? And then after
17:47 that, you listen to a short part of the
17:49 actual video that that you want to
17:52 shadow on, right? You listen to it for 3
17:56 to 5 minutes and then you do it a couple
17:58 of times. So you do it maybe like one or
18:01 three or four times. You listen to this
18:04 bit of this video and what you want to
18:06 focus on while listening is
18:08 pronunciation and intonation. This is
18:11 really important. You you don't want to
18:14 focus on pronunciation only. You also
18:16 want to focus on intonation. Intonation
18:18 is probably more important than
18:20 pronunciation because a lot of people
18:22 think that oh my pronunciation sucks.
18:25 Well your intonation also sucks. And the
18:26 thing is you are just boring. You're
18:29 just talking like a robot. Okay? It's
18:30 like, "Hello guys, in this video I'm
18:31 going to explain to you how you can
18:33 improve your English." Who cares about
18:34 that, right? I want to say something
18:36 like, "Hello guys, in this video I'm
18:38 going to teach you how to improve your
18:41 English." So this this is a difference,
18:43 right? This is a difference in
18:45 intonation. And if your intonation, if
18:47 you have an intonation over a robot,
18:49 guess what's going to happen? Nobody
18:51 will have a desire to listen to you
18:53 because you just suck at speaking. Like
18:55 you sound like a robot. you sound
18:58 boring, right? Even if you have a bit of
19:00 a poor pronunciation, but you have an
19:02 amazing intonation in English, people
19:05 are going to listen to you. People are
19:07 going to pay attention. So, you want to
19:09 focus on both. You want to focus on
19:11 pronunciation and intonation while
19:13 you're listening. You're not trying to
19:15 repeat. You're just listening to the
19:18 person speaking in this video. And then
19:20 you read the text with the same
19:23 intonation and pronunciation. When you
19:24 read this text a couple of times with
19:27 perfect pronunciation in intonation, you
19:30 also want to record yourself. You you
19:32 want to just grab your camera and try to
19:35 read this text on camera because it
