0:47 in this tutorial we are going to be
0:52 discussing máximos 7.6 navigation basics
0:54 even if you have never worked with
1:05 its navigation updated fonts colors and
1:09 styling make it very intuitive once you
1:13 know the basics for this session I will
1:16 be logging into IBM Maximo as a
1:20 supervisor it is important to note that
1:24 depending upon the maximal add-ons you
1:27 have as well as your security group
1:30 settings you may see slightly more or
1:35 fewer options in this system then I will
1:39 be showing today let's begin our journey
1:50 after logging into IBM Maximo you will
1:53 be sent to your Start Center here is an
1:58 example of a maximal start center at the
2:03 very top of the screen you will have
2:08 navigation and informational icons each
2:11 icon has a hovered dialog that tells you
2:20 what it does this is your home button
2:23 which will bring you back to the Maximo
2:26 Start Center from wherever you are in
2:32 the application next to that is a
2:35 drop-down list of modules and
2:45 this list includes my recent
2:49 applications IBM Maximo keeps track of
2:53 what applications you have used in the past
3:04 the bulletin icon will indicate if you
3:07 have any unread messages directed to you
3:13 from your maximal administrators next is
3:17 the reports icon this drop down will
3:20 allow you to run Bert reports from the
3:28 the icon that looks like head and
3:31 shoulders is where you access your
3:35 default user information personal
3:45 information and password information the
3:49 sign out icon is selected to exit the
3:52 application it is important that you do
3:57 not just X out of your browser as this
3:59 will cause your session to continue to
4:03 run on the server which ties up server
4:07 resources as well as a license if you
4:12 are using concurrent licensing the last
4:15 icon is the help applications this will
4:21 take you to self-help resources this
4:30 now we will look at the many ways you
4:34 can navigate to applications in Maximo
4:38 for applications which you use often the
4:44 easiest way is to create a hyperlink to
4:46 that application in the favourites
4:53 application portlets this portlet can be
4:59 set up as a template and the user may
5:02 add applications by editing the
5:12 if your role includes creating new
5:16 records you can use the quick insert
5:19 portlet and add the appropriate
5:27 applications a new feature in Maximo is
5:40 as you can see you have your list of
5:43 modules which in turn open to
5:45 applications you have permission to
5:51 access it also has a recent applications
5:57 list we will now go to work order
6:00 tracking application by selecting the
6:04 work orders module and the work order
6:07 tracking application by default when
6:09 opening an application you will be
6:13 directed to the search screen this
6:15 search screen allows you to enter values
6:18 to narrow the search for pre-existing
6:22 records in the application those can be
6:27 exact match searches or use wildcard
6:36 you will also notice that the sidebar
6:41 has changed instead of simply a list of
6:45 applications it now includes situation
6:49 based common actions for use with this
6:52 application for a more detailed search
6:58 you can select advanced search which
7:00 allows filtering across many more key
7:05 fields for that record once you fill out
7:18 as you can see a list of records is
7:22 returned note that on some fields you'll
7:27 see an information icon this will open a
7:29 pop-up giving you more information for
7:33 the data on that screen here we see the
7:37 details of the asset records next we
7:39 will bring up a single record by
7:50 again the sidebar changes to allow even
7:53 more detailed common actions and more
7:57 actions available to a single record at
8:00 the top of the sidebar you'll see a
8:05 field called find navigation item this
8:07 allows you to search the available
8:10 queries without the need of scrolling
8:13 through the entire list an example would
8:26 now you can see that there are many
8:28 options available from applications to
8:33 queries and actions that contain the
8:43 the screen will refresh with a work
8:48 order ready to fill in the details there
8:50 are certain field icons on the screen
8:55 which assists you in filling out your
9:01 work order to select a location the
9:04 detail menu will allow you many ways to
9:17 if I select asset detail menu you will
9:22 see that it has a go-to option it will
9:24 allow me to hyperlink to another
9:27 application to find the value and then
9:44 we will select asset 1001 a fire
9:49 extinguisher if you look at the left
9:53 hand upper corner you will notice that
9:56 your path to the asset application from
9:59 the work order tracking application is
10:06 shown this is breadcrumbs breadcrumb
10:08 navigation tracks the steps you have
10:12 taken in an application and helps you to
10:18 quickly retrace them another icon here
10:23 is select value when you click on the
10:26 icon it will provide you a list of
10:30 values for that field this also
10:33 indicates that you may not enter any
10:37 other data this is used when data
10:51 we will now return to the Start Center
11:04 we will now log out of Maximo by
11:10 clicking on the sign out icon this will
11:16 bring us back to the login screen it is
11:21 now safe to close your browser as my
11:22 session has ended
11:26 releasing the server resources and the
11:33 license I was using I hope this Maximo
