0:33 is a fascinating chapter because in it
0:35 Peter looks in two directions at one
0:38 time don't ever drive like that John
0:40 bunan has an interesting character in
0:42 The Pilgrim's Progress called Mr looking both
0:43 both
0:46 ways but that's not what Peter's doing
0:49 in chapter 5 of First Peter he's
0:52 remembering and he's looking
0:54 forward as you read this chapter you see
0:57 him sort of reminiscing about some of
1:01 his experiences with Jesus Christ
1:05 in verse one he uh remembers his
1:07 suffering in verse two where it says
1:10 feed the flock he must have remembered
1:13 that breakfast meeting when Jesus said
1:16 take care of my lambs and feed my
1:19 sheep when he talks about not being
1:21 Lords over God's Heritage Peter must
1:23 have remembered those times when he and
1:26 the other disciples argued over who was the
1:27 the
1:29 greatest when he talks about being
1:32 clothed with humility verse 5 that
1:34 certainly reminded him of the upper room
1:38 when Jesus put on the Garb of a servant
1:39 and wash their
1:42 feet that little word make you perfect
1:45 up in verse 10 is the same word for The
1:48 Mending of the Nets when Peter wrote
1:50 that word he must have remembered that
1:51 time when he was mending the Nets and
1:54 the Lord Jesus called him talking about
1:57 Satan as a lion in verse 8 certainly
1:59 reminded him of that evening when Jesus
2:02 said Simon Simon Satan has asked to have
2:05 all of you disciples that he may sift
2:08 you as wheat but I'm praying for
2:12 you that your faith fail not so
2:14 throughout these words Peter is looking
2:17 back but he's also looking ahead and
2:19 over and over again he talks about Glory
2:21 verse one the glory that shall be
2:24 revealed verse four the Crown of Glory
2:26 verse 10 he's called us to his eternal
2:29 glory verse 11 to him be glory the path
2:32 of the just as is The Shining Light that
2:34 shines more and more into the perfect
2:36 day and I think the great theme of
2:40 chapter 5 is that the best is yet to
2:42 come he's talking about the wonderful
2:45 future we have as Christians now
2:47 everybody doesn't have a wonderful
2:49 future if you're here tonight and you've
2:51 never been saved you've never been born
2:53 again you don't have the life of God in
2:56 your heart you don't have a wonderful
2:58 future in fact you have a very dismal
3:01 future it's appointed unto men once to
3:03 die and after this the
3:06 Judgment depart from me ye that work
3:08 iniquity I never knew
3:11 you the Lord knows the way of the
3:13 righteous but the way of the ungodly Shall
3:18 Perish but for those of us who know
3:19 Christ and are seeking to live for
3:21 Christ there is a tremendous future
3:24 awaiting Us in fact in chapter 5 of
3:28 First Peter the Apostle describes for us
3:30 four persons
3:33 who can look forward to a very wonderful
3:35 future now of course they're all
3:37 Christians but they are Christians who
3:40 are going through certain
3:42 experiences even though every believer
3:45 in Jesus Christ is going to
3:48 heaven not every believer is going to
3:50 have a well done when he gets to
3:53 Heaven even though every true Christian
3:56 born again through faith in Christ will
3:59 experience the glory of Heaven not every
4:02 Christian CHR is going to have the Crown of
4:03 of
4:06 Glory or the glory that is earned through
4:08 through
4:10 faithfulness and so we ought to examine
4:12 Our Lives tonight and see whether or not
4:15 we fit into what Peter's talking about
4:17 here now who are the four persons that
4:19 Peter talks about who have a bright
4:21 wonderful future ahead of them verses 1
4:24 through 4 those who are
4:29 serving verses 5 6 and 7 those who are submitting
4:31 submitting
4:35 verses 8 and N those who are
4:38 standing verse 10 those who are
4:41 suffering now if you are a Believer who is
4:42 is
4:45 serving you've got a wonderful future
4:47 ahead of you if you are a Believer who is
4:48 is
4:51 submitting you've got a wonderful future
4:53 ahead of you if you're a Believer who
4:56 standing against the Ws of the devil
4:58 then youve got a great future ahead of
5:00 you and if you're a Christian who's
5:03 suffering you've got a great future
5:04 ahead of you let's meet these four
5:07 persons verses 1- 4 the Christian who is
5:11 serving the elders who are among you I
5:14 exhort who am also an
5:17 elder Peter didn't claim to be anything
5:18 more than
5:21 that he didn't call for himself any High
5:24 position in the church he didn't claimed
5:25 to be something that he wasn't he was an
5:29 elder and a witness of the sufferings of
5:31 Christ and also a partaker of the glory
5:34 that shall be revealed Shepherd the
5:37 flock of God which is among you taking
5:40 the oversight of it not by
5:43 constraint but willingly not for filthy
5:46 looker but of a ready mind an eager mind
5:50 not as being Lords over God's Heritage
5:53 but being examples to the flock and when
5:56 the chief Shepherd shall appear you
5:58 shall receive a Crown of Glory that
6:01 fadeth not away he compares the local
6:02 church to a
6:06 flock to sheep that is a marvelous
6:09 picture someday I want to write a book
6:12 about the pictures of the church in the
6:14 Bible I think many Christians don't
6:16 understand the great privilege it is to
6:18 be a part of a local church we're
6:20 members of a body we're stones in a
6:22 temple we're part of a bride we're
6:24 soldiers in the
6:27 Army many pictures of the
6:29 believer but the one that you find over
6:31 over again is the
6:35 flock the flock sheep he Compares us to
6:37 sheep and our Lord was very wise when he
6:40 did that you see we Christians as sheep
6:42 are prone to wander that's why we have
6:44 to have
6:46 Shepherds one of the great Delights of
6:48 the ministry is studying the word of God
6:51 and preaching the word of God there the
6:55 shepherd feeds the Sheep but all one of
6:56 the difficulties of the ministry is
6:58 chasing the Sheep
7:00 down finding the sheep that are
7:03 wandering and going off and saying look
7:05 you ought to get back where you ought to
7:07 be sheep are prone to wander sheep are
7:09 very defenseless they have to have
7:13 someone protect them Sheep by and large
7:16 enjoy flocking together and when they
7:17 get away from the flock they get into
7:21 trouble and I've seen this with
7:24 Christians sheep are clean animals and
7:26 they're useful animals you can you can
7:29 fleece them they can reproduce you can
7:32 get milk from them and Christians ought
7:35 to be useful to the work of the Lord he
7:37 compares the church to A Flock now A
7:40 Flock has to have a
7:42 Shepherd in fact in the New Testament
7:45 Church there was a plurality of Elders
7:47 as we have here at Moody Church we have
7:50 Elders who are on the Pastoral staff we
7:52 have Elders who are elected by the
7:54 church and we work together to give
7:57 leadership to the church he's suggesting
8:00 here that the flock of itself cannot
8:02 function apart from leadership it was
8:05 not the Sheep who led the Shepherds it
8:07 was the Shepherds who led the
8:10 Sheep this is why God has ordained that
8:13 out of his church people are called they
8:16 are endowed they are gifted to give spiritual
8:17 spiritual
8:21 leadership now it's not an easy
8:23 job somebody likes every once while I
8:25 meet someone who likes to tell me
8:27 stories about preachers I guess every vocation
8:28 vocation
8:30 has jokes I suppose you're told jokes
8:33 about musicians and organists and
8:36 doctors are always told doctor jokes the
8:39 ones I feel the most sorry for are
8:41 undertakers in the first place most of
8:43 them don't have a sense of humor in the
8:45 second place there's nothing funny about
8:47 what they do it's difficult but you
8:49 heard about the little boy who said to
8:51 his friend um what does your father do
9:01 living I'd much i' rather uh punch a
9:04 clock from 8 to 4: be a lot
9:07 easier do you ever stop to think of the
9:10 burden of souls giving an account for
9:13 your ministry among people not easy and
9:16 so he exhorts these elders and says now
9:19 look beware of certain
9:22 sins number one is the sin of laziness
9:24 he said don't you do it because you have
9:26 to do it do it because you want to do it
9:29 I know men who preach because they have
9:31 to say
9:33 something I'd much rather preach because
9:35 I have something to
9:38 say I feel sorry for that preacher who
9:42 constantly has to be urged pushed moved
9:44 or that Elder that church
9:47 officer beware of laziness there's no
9:50 room for laziness now you can be a lazy
9:53 preacher during these past seven years I
9:54 could have crawled up into my Crow's
9:56 Nest up there in my study and read comic
9:58 books nobody would have known the
10:00 difference except on Sundays when you
10:02 stand in the pulpit and have nothing to
10:05 say or you go out to a funeral and you
10:07 have nothing to say watch out for
10:10 laziness he warns them watch out for
10:14 greed don't do what you do to make
10:16 money that's a
10:19 danger then he goes on to say watch out
10:21 that you don't do what you do just to
10:24 get Authority don't be dictators we have
10:25 pastors like that
10:28 today they're dictators instead of using
10:31 their authority to build up the people
10:32 they use the people to build up their
10:35 Authority little tin
10:37 Gods if you don't agree with them and
10:39 their way of doing it they can't listen
10:42 to you it's got to be done this way this
10:43 is the way we did it in our last church
10:46 and if you don't like that he said don't
10:48 be like that you're not supposed to be a
10:50 dictator did you noce you can't drive
10:54 sheep you lead them if the shepherd Gets
10:56 behind the flock and tries to push them
10:57 they'll go in the opposite direction
11:00 sheep love to do that they just love to
11:02 go the wrong way the shepherd has to go
11:07 before the sheep and lead them by love
11:09 he warns them that each Shepherd each
11:12 Elder has his own particular Ministry
11:14 neither is being Lords over God's
11:16 Heritage that word heritage means a
11:19 different part of the
11:21 inheritance it's the same word used when
11:23 the Jews went into the promised land
11:25 they cast lots and and this part was
11:27 given to Dan and this part was given to
11:29 isachar and this part was given to Judah
11:32 uh in the church the the ministry is
11:34 divided the church isn't divided but the
11:37 ministry is it's impossible for one man
11:39 to do everything and so he says you have
11:41 your responsibility over here and
11:44 another Elder has a responsibility here
11:45 and another Elder has a responsibility
11:47 there now work together and don't be
11:50 envious of somebody else's
11:52 Ministry it's always a sad thing when a
11:55 church looks for a wonder man who can do
11:57 everything it would be utterly
11:59 impossible to find such a man
12:02 man now what he's saying to us in verses
12:05 1-4 is if you're faithful in serving the
12:07 chief Shepherd is going to appear and
12:09 when he appears he'll give you a Crown
12:11 of Glory that's not going to fade away
12:14 when the runners in the races won they
12:17 were given a crown of
12:20 leaves and after a few days those leaves
12:22 had faded away if you and I are faithful
12:24 in our work you're doing your job I'm
12:26 doing my job the elders the deacons
12:29 doing their job when the chief Shepherd
12:31 appears he'll say Well done here's your
12:33 crown in other words we don't do what we
12:34 do to please
12:37 people we don't do what we do to please
12:40 ourselves we do what we do to please the
12:44 Lord the serving for in 5 through
12:47 7 he goes on to discuss the
12:50 submitting those who are submissive to
12:53 the Lord can anticipate God's blessing
12:56 in like manner ye younger submit
12:58 yourselves unto the Elder now there the
13:02 word older means older in the
13:04 faith yay all of
13:07 you you say I'm not young and I'm not
13:10 old all right this includes you all of
13:13 you be subject one to another and be
13:15 clothed with humility Peter must have
13:17 seen that night when the Lord Jesus put
13:20 on a towel got down wash their feet
13:24 clothed with humility for God resisteth
13:25 the proud but he gives grace to the
13:30 humble humble yourselves therefore
13:32 under the mighty hand of
13:38 God that he may exalt you in due time
13:40 humble yourselves there literally means
13:42 permit yourself to be
13:44 humbled sometimes we humble ourselves in
13:46 Pride we tell everybody how humble we
13:50 are casting all your care upon him for
13:53 he carth for you God will bless those
13:56 who are submitting you see one of the
13:59 dangers in a church is competition
14:01 somebody belongs to this Sunday school
14:03 class somebody belongs to that group
14:04 someone belongs to this group and
14:06 there's a danger of
14:08 competition there's always the problem
14:10 of the younger Christians who are coming
14:13 along saying well these old fogies up
14:15 there they don't know what's going on in this
14:16 this
14:18 church he's talking here about the
14:21 danger of division in the
14:24 church and often division is along the
14:26 lines of
14:29 age now it takes young and old to build
14:32 a church I'm out in pastor's conferences
14:34 I anticipate even more of them in the
14:36 days to come and every once a while I
14:39 hear some Pastor say I want to be a
14:41 church of young people I said that's
14:44 great where you going to get your
14:46 wisdom kind of hard to have deacons who
14:49 are all young people Elders who are all
14:52 young people somebody else says oh I
14:54 can't stand these new crowdy young
14:55 people coming along boy give me the
15:03 great uh I think I'm one of the Saints
15:07 who came out of the 40s I got saved in
15:10 1945 but one of these days we won't be
15:13 here you see how foolish that is it
15:16 can't be all the young and all the old
15:18 it needs to be both and each submitted
15:21 to the other the young submit to the old
15:24 for wisdom the old submit to the young
15:32 every church needs new enthusiasm and new
15:34 new
15:37 ideas back in Peter's Day the Greek
15:40 cities were divided up into youth
15:43 guilds we think that our big youth ideas
15:44 are so new they aren't they had them
15:45 back in
15:47 Greece and the various young men and
15:49 young women would get together in Guilds
15:51 now when these people got saved they
15:53 organized the church into guilds they
15:56 had youth conferences and youth meetings
15:58 and sometimes these young people would
16:01 refuse to submit to the leadership of
16:02 the older
16:05 ones Peter said that's a
16:08 sin the older ones need to listen to The
16:09 Young and the younger ones need to
16:12 listen to the older ones one has wisdom
16:16 one has Zeal one knows the roots of the
16:18 past and the mistakes of the past the
16:20 other has the great vision for the
16:22 present and the Zeal for the future now
16:25 put them together you've got a winning
16:28 combination get them fighting each other
16:30 you got problems
16:32 and so the answer is to submit humble
16:34 yourselves under God's hand if you get
16:36 under God's hand one day his hand will
16:39 turn over and lift you up but you exalt
16:41 yourself you say well if we can't do
16:43 what we want to do we'll go someplace
16:46 else a that won't solve any problems you
16:47 just take your troubles with
16:50 you and you create division in the
16:52 church and dividing the church is a
16:55 great sin because the word of God says
16:58 let's strive to maintain the unity of
17:01 the spirit in the bond of peace and so
17:03 some of you younger people don't like it
17:06 when the elders say this is our policy
17:08 they have no right to make a policy like
17:10 that oh yes they do and you better
17:13 submit to it the Elder may not like it
17:14 when the young people say well we've got
17:16 to make some changes here don't make
17:23 years can't be like that we have to
17:25 listen to one another that's the beauty
17:28 of the church the shepherd and the Sheep
17:31 the old older and the younger in unity
17:34 and in love the submitting now I suggest
17:36 to you that if we don't submit one day
17:38 we're going to answer for
17:41 it if we don't submit if we are the
17:45 cause of trouble friction competition
17:46 instead of
17:49 cooperation we're going to answer for it
17:53 someday I don't think God ever called me
17:55 to destroy his
17:58 work verses 8 and N he talks to those
18:00 who are standing and boy if anyone knew
18:03 anything about the devil Peter did camel
18:06 Morgan has written a marvelous little
18:08 book called Peter and the church he's
18:09 also written a book called The Voice of
18:11 the devil you got to get those two books
18:13 and read them together because Peter has
18:17 a great deal to say about the devil be
18:20 sober be vigilant because your adversary
18:23 the devil like a roaring lion walking
18:26 walketh about seeking whom he may devour
18:29 whom resists steadfast in the faith
18:30 knowing that the same afflictions are
18:32 accomplished in your brethren that are
18:34 in the world we're not going through
18:36 this alone now what are we supposed to
18:39 do about the devil uh here he's compared
18:41 to a lion other places he's compared to
18:44 a serpent as a serpent he
18:48 deceives as a lion he devours if he
18:51 cannot deceive my mind he seeks to
18:54 devour me with suffering and Peter knew
18:56 these people were going to go through
18:59 suffering he talked about that f y trial
19:02 that was going to come and part of that
19:04 fiery trial was going to come from the
19:07 fire of Hell Satan has always been the
19:11 adversary of the church the Apostle Paul
19:14 warned the elders at Ephesus in Acts
19:16 chap 20 he said you watch out the wolves
19:17 are going to get in they'll scatter the
19:19 flock they'll destroy it well if the
19:23 Wolves can do it what about the
19:25 lion I enjoy seeing wild animals I'm
19:28 always glad there are bars between me
19:32 and the animal animals we were in the uh
19:35 Kenya game park over there in Africa we
19:38 didn't see anything really
19:40 dangerous got about two or 3 hundred
19:42 feet away from a
19:45 rhinoceros but he wasn't paying any
19:46 attention to us he was bigger than the
19:48 car was and he knew
19:50 it but I've never wanted the tangle with
19:53 a lion I love cats I always enjoy when
19:55 my cat comes along jumps into my lap you
19:57 know and takes over that doesn't bother
20:00 me i' hate to have a l do
20:03 that now Peter gives us three
20:05 instructions about the devil and people
20:07 better Heed These instructions number
20:11 one you respect him be sober you don't
20:13 joke about the
20:16 devil you don't laugh about the devil
20:19 respect him be
20:23 sober recognize him be
20:25 vigilant keep your eyes open keep your
20:29 ears open because Satan's always at work
20:35 respect him recognize him and resist him
20:37 how do you resist him whom resists
20:39 steadfast in the faith steadfast
20:42 standing fast in what in the faith what
20:46 faith faith in Jesus Christ that's what
20:49 Jesus did he didn't run when Satan came
20:51 roaring at him he just stood there and
20:54 said it is written it is written it is
20:56 written now Satan's going to do his best
20:58 to to Devour the flock and to Dev divide
21:03 the flock he always wants to do this and
21:04 sometimes he finds Christians who will help
21:17 standing excuse me those who take their
21:20 stand in the faith those who take the
21:22 sword of the spirit which is the word of
21:25 God those who take the shield of
21:29 Faith they'll fight him they'll resist
21:32 him and they'll overcome
21:34 him but alas there always are those
21:37 Saints who give in to the devil Peter
21:40 himself did it Jesus warned him he said
21:43 Satan's after you he wants to get a hold
21:45 of you I'm praying for you Peter boasted
21:47 and said oh though the rest of this
21:50 crowd forsake you I'll never do that and
21:54 pride walks right into the devil's
21:56 trap because pride is one of Satan's tools
22:03 those who are
22:05 standing can look
22:08 forward to God's blessing and God's
22:11 glory finally verse 10 and verse
22:14 11 but I'm always glad for that little
22:17 word but it means a contrast here we're
22:20 talking about Satan coming at us as a
22:24 roaring lion but the God of all
22:28 Grace who hath called us unto his
22:31 eternal eternal glory by Christ Jesus he
22:34 will give me Grace and Glory they always
22:38 go together there is no glory without
22:40 Grace and when you have Grace it always
22:43 leads to Glory the God of all Grace who
22:46 hath called us un his eternal glory by
22:51 Christ Jesus after ye have suffered a
22:53 while make you
22:58 perfect establish strengthen settle you
23:00 to his him be glory and Dominion forever
23:02 and ever amen he's talking here about the
23:03 the
23:08 suffering suffering Glory suffering
23:10 Glory this is always the Bible pattern
23:13 verse one of chapter 5 a witness of the
23:17 sufferings of Christ and also a partaker
23:20 of the glory that shall be revealed
23:24 chapter 4: 13 but rejoice in as much as
23:26 ye are partaker of Christ's sufferings
23:29 that when his glory
23:31 is shall be revealed you may be glad
23:34 also with exceeding Joy verse 15 don't
23:37 suffer is a murderer verse 16 if you
23:39 suffer as a Christian don't be ashamed
23:42 let him glorify God all the way through
23:45 this book it's suffering and Glory
23:47 suffering and Glory Paul says the same
23:50 thing I reckon that the sufferings of
23:52 this present time are not worthy to be
23:54 compared with the glory Now ladies and
23:56 gentlemen we're going to
23:58 suffer there are going to be the the
24:00 human sufferings of everyday life we
24:02 aren't getting any
24:05 younger there's going to be sickness
24:07 there's going to be pain there's going
24:09 to be surgery there's going to be
24:12 medication there's going to be death
24:14 these are these are things that belong
24:17 to the to the human part of life there
24:19 are things that belong to the spiritual
24:22 part of life Satan's going to fight us
24:25 we're going to go through
24:27 suffering in fact one of the best things
24:29 that can happen to the Church of Jesus
24:32 Christ in America is a good taste of
24:35 suffering it'll separate the the men
24:37 from the boys it'll separate the the
24:39 sheep from the
24:42 goats it'll separate the hangers on and
24:45 Spectators from those who are laying
24:49 their lives down to serve Jesus
24:51 Christ The
24:54 Suffering now what does Peter say about
24:56 suffering he says number one God
24:59 provides the grace
25:01 if you're worrying about tomorrow or
25:04 next week or two weeks from now God
25:06 provides the grace he's the God of all
25:08 Grace all Grace not part of the grace
25:12 all Grace God has cornered the market on
25:21 Grace and his throne is a throne of
25:23 grace and his word is the word of his
25:26 grace and the Holy Spirit is the spirit
25:29 of Grace and Jesus Christ is full of
25:32 grace and truth and so you and I can
25:35 depend upon God providing all the grace
25:37 not only does he provide the grace but
25:40 he promises the glory the God of all
25:44 Grace who has called us to his eternal
25:47 glory now in between the grace and the
25:50 glory what is God
25:54 doing in between the suffering and the
25:56 glory what is God
26:00 doing Grace in suffering Glory no
26:02 suffering what happens in between he
26:08 tells us what happens make you perfect
26:12 that word means mature you equip you
26:15 develop you why is God doing what he's
26:18 doing in our lives he doesn't want us to
26:24 diapers more problems are created in
26:26 churches by people who have been saved
26:29 long enough to be teachers but instead
26:31 they're still in diapers and they demand
26:34 attention burping them and giving toys
26:37 to them and changing them now you do
26:39 this because you love them but oh you
26:43 wish they were doing it for somebody
26:45 else book of Hebrews was written to a
26:48 church like that he says for the time
26:49 you've been saved you ought to be
26:51 teaching others but now somebody else
26:54 has to teach you the ABCs you're back in
26:57 a spiritual second childhood what does
26:59 God want to do he wants wants to mature
27:02 us he wants to equip us to get out and
27:05 help other people not be taking in all
27:07 the time but giving
27:10 out that's what that word
27:12 means after you have suffered a while
27:15 make you perfect so God provides the
27:20 grace and God gives the promise of glory
27:22 and in between the suffering and the
27:27 glory god is perfecting our character
27:32 God is building into US patience and
27:35 love and faithfulness and
27:38 loyalty and
27:41 devotion and the result of this is he establishes
27:43 establishes
27:47 us make you perfect establish now Peter
27:49 knew the meaning of that word establish
27:52 it means to stand solid like a rock and
27:54 that was his name
28:03 Rock now there was a time in that man's
28:06 life when he was like shifting
28:09 sand Simon was a sand dune that blew
28:12 about but oh he went through suffering
28:15 and when you take sand and you put it
28:18 under pressure and heat you come out with
28:19 with
28:22 Rock and we say oh Lord why are you
28:26 doing this I'm making a rock out of
28:29 you do you know that the old ultimate of
28:33 this is a jewel if that if that pressure
28:40 continue the result is a beautiful
28:42 Jewel and I read that in the Book of
28:45 Revelation when it describes the the
28:47 jewels up
28:50 there we're going to be a part of those
28:52 Jewels you see I can't take any more
28:54 pressure yes you can I can't take any
28:58 more heat yes we can God is taking us as
29:00 clay and he's putting the clay in his
29:02 furnace and there's pressure and there's
29:04 heat and there's suffering and he's
29:06 making a jewel now if you want to be a
29:09 lump of clay that's
29:12 fine you want to be a half formed piece
29:14 of stone that's all right that's your
29:17 business God won't force it on
29:19 you but all the Lord says you know I can
29:21 give you Grace I can give you Grace for
29:23 surgery I can give you Grace for
29:25 heartache I can give you Grace for

30:20 visiting or holding an office or
30:23 wrestling with problems on a committee
30:28 keep on serving it leads to Glory
30:31 keep on submitting if pride and
30:35 competition get in there will be trouble
30:37 submit to one another learn how to say
30:40 let's try it your way learn how to say
30:45 let's work together on this keep on
30:47 standing if you don't stand you go
30:50 backward keep on standing resisting the
30:52 devil and keep on
30:55 suffering the church is the purest when
30:57 the church is suffering the church has
30:59 the most power when the church is
31:02 suffering when we are at ease in Zion
31:04 when we are lacad isical when we're in
31:07 our rocking chairs when we're complacent
31:10 God can't Bless but oh when we're going
31:12 through the furnace he's walking with us
31:14 when we're going through the waterers
31:16 he's right there to make sure we don't
31:19 drown oh it's wonderful just to walk
