This is Lena, 11 years old and Max 9. The
siblings are on their way to school
all alone without their
parents. For us, it's actually
quite normal. It's more fun to
hang out with friends. For their parents, Michael and
Rebeca Strotmann, it's normal everyday life.
For many families in
Germany, I, a child,
also have my own experiences in some areas.
In Germany, children are raised to be
independent and
responsible at an early age. What else is
Germany? The Strotmanns from Emsland
and the Schmidt family from Berlin are two
completely normal,
average families. Most of the
8.5 million families in Germany
have one or two children. There are 1.7

At that point at the latest, the
question arises: who will look after the child? For
Beate Schmidt and Konrad Karlisch from
Berlin, it was clear that both would take care of the
upbringing and the household. For up to 14
months, most parents
in Germany receive 65% of their income as
parental allowance. The couple can divide the parental leave
freely. This is intended to ensure more
equality in childrearing.
Then time is also of the essence. go where so
where I had parental leave where they
mobilize themselves learn to walk and so on
and yes you get to see it all that is
great I wouldn't want to
miss it I can recommend it to every father
father
because most fathers only leave their job for a
minimum of two months
the work
still often falls to the mothers son
Kimir has arrived at his daycare Drieselmäuse when he was
one year old he came here to
daycare from this age
every child is entitled to a daycare
most people go from age D the
motto here is learn through play because
this child has to deal with language in the game is
independent
but is constantly exposed to arguments and contradictions with his friends
or is willing to compromise
we are playful that's why playing is so
important the children can be looked after here from 6:30 a.m. to
5:30 p.m. in some
federal states it is free for the parents
in others you have to pay more than
1000 € a month
and what it is like when the children
go to school let's take a look
at the Strotmann family in Emsland Lena and Max
come home from school and are hungry.
Around half of the school children are full
at school. Rebe works part-time and
cooks for the family every day. Lena and
Max usually come home from school between 1 and 2
o'clock. Before dinner there is
a quick snack.
They are used to using a sharp knife.
That is completely normal for us.
At some point they took out the knife
and just wanted to cut something themselves.
And then you let
them go. I come to dinner.
The N-beeper is working. Instead of
curry, the children prefer
yesterday's pizza. Lena and Max have their
own rooms. There they do their
homework. After 30 minutes all the
tasks are completed, open questions are answered
begin. I think that you should
n't put so much stress on a child at such a young age.
You should
give the child enough free time which they can organize themselves
What was important to both of us was
that the children do at least one sport,
depending on what they want to do, get
to know other people and
experience successes as well as defeats. They are both active in sports clubs
outside of school. They play
football and Lena is a top performer.
Around half of children and
young people do sports in a club. The most
important thing, I would say, is the
family. The solidarity. That the children
feel safe at home. That the
children can be children and simply develop. In
In
quotation marks, as you wish. We
naturally want them to grow up protected. That they
simply that they that
they realize for themselves that they
are valuable. That it doesn't matter if they have children or not, that
they are loved by us. The Schmids
and the Strotmanns are two different
families who have one thing in common. They
raise their children in a typically German way.
