One of the most unique places in India is
many names like Thirunarayanapuram, Dakshina Badarikashrama, Yadavagiri, Yadavadri.
What makes Melkote special?
Even today, there is no
access to education. What makes Melkote special is that there are no
frauds, and people die very quickly,
meaning that they die without any death.
Many people there
ask if all this is true. Is this possible in the Kali Yuga? The
atmosphere there, the air there, the serenity on the hill, the
pure water springs.
What happens to these? Everyone in
Melkote walks from one place to another every morning,
climbs the hill,
swims in ponds and lakes. So naturally,
since there is good air, light and atmosphere, people
work hard, and
die very quickly or
get sick very rarely. Therefore, there is no doubt that Melkote is a
unique place where there is no access to education. There are
many things in Melukote,
but the most important of them all is the
Brahmotsavam, an annual
annual
fair held in Melukote. It lasts for nine days. It is
called Navahotsavam, but the next
three days are Theppotsavam, the nine-day festival,
Mahabhishekam, and Annakoti Utsav. All together, the fair lasts for about 15 days. This is a
nine-day fair.
Even though it is called Navahotsavam, the next festival, the
Teppotsavam, which is held before the festival, is
included in it. So it becomes 15 days.
These 15 days are also
filled with colorful lights. People from all parts of India and Nepal come together in a spirit of devotion. The
Melukote is a sacred upper fort, the
fort of Vaikuntha. It gives us great joy.
Just by setting foot in the Melukote,
during the Brahmotsavam, something new and new
comes into our bodies. Vairamudi Brahmotsava You all should
come, see and experience it.
Only then will you be able to enjoy the joy of Vairamudi Brahmotsava. In
this Vairamudi
Brahmotsava, on the first day of the nine days,
two programs are held, namely Ankurarpana and Mrittika Sanghra. This
This
time, on
Wednesday, 24, 2025,
Rohini Nakshatra, the
Ankurarpana will be held at the Melukote Chuluvanarayana Swamy Temple before the Mrittika Sanghra. If you ask what is Mrittika Sanghra,
what is it? If you want to perform the
prestigma of any god for any fair or any good work, such as a wedding, the
scriptures
say that if there is prosperity in that country, then the festival should be held only if there is prosperity in that country. So, if you ask what you do first,
get the seeds of Vishwaksena and go to the mandapam and
worship Vishwaksena. Then, on the
outside of the town, from the upper fort, there is
a place called Angadi Street. There is
a market door on the outside, called the fort door.
Before the upper fort, there was a
fort, that fort is called the gate. From
there, you have to come inside. There is an
ancient Brindavan. Brindavan is the Tulsi
Tulsi
Brindavan. Go to this Tulsi Brindavan and
tell him the Bhumi Sukta there. Because
before any puja, we have to
remember that without the Bhumi Dev,
no puja is done.
We can all exist only if there is land. Because it is the land that gives us food and
protects our lives. So,
these seeds should be planted now.
Ankurarpana means putting seeds in the soil and
getting their crops. However,
what is needed for that? Soil. So, this
soil is called Mritika in Sanskrit. So, when he
came to this Brindavan and
asked him what is the best soil in the soil, he said, "The
soil at the base of the Tulsi tree is the soil." They
take all the soil and put it in a silver
vessel. There, they perform all
the pujas to the goddess Bhumi and the god Varaha. They
put the soil on their heads and come inside the temple. This is
called Mrutika Sangrahna, which means
bringing the dead body.
If we hear this here, it
seems like some kind of ritual. But if you want to see it,
hundreds of people from the temple gather together in the festival,
accompanied by musical instruments,
umbrellas, and silver vessels, and when you
see them collecting and bringing the dead body, you will
think that this is a big
After the collection of the dead body, the next thing that
happens is the
offering of seedlings. Ankura means offering of seeds.
Where do they offer the seeds? The
process of putting the seeds in the soil is such that the seeds will sprout, that is, the plants will come out.
According to the shastras, the festivals should be held only if the seeds germinate. Is it
possible to hold a fair in a place where there is famine? So,
all these seeds are placed in kalashas, all the
kalashas of the Ashta Dikpalakars, and
in the name of the twelve gods, Kesava Narayana Damodara Madhava
Vishnu Madhusudana Trivikrama Vamana Sridhara
Hrishikesh Padmanabha Damodara.
Around each kalasha,
place the palikas with the palikas and the sharavas. For the
love of the moon, that is, for the love of the moon, for the
worship of the moon,
establish a Soma kalasha. All these
seeds are placed in the soil along with the mantras, chanting the mantras. That is, just as the
seeds planted in the Vairamudi Brahmotsava
grow without any problem, they pray that this Vairamudi
Brahmotsava will take place without any problem.
When asked why the moon should be worshipped, the moon is called the medicine
god. They
have called, "If the sun and the moon were not there,
no living beings would survive in this world. The
sun is
needed for life, the moon is needed for the seeds. Therefore, since
it is done at
night, the moon is worshipped there. Nishampati is the lord of the night
and the moon is the lord of medicinal substances, that is,
all the seeds that are eaten. Therefore,
along with Somakumbha, they worship Chuluvanarayana Swamy. May all
this
Brahmotsava also take place without any knowledge. May
nothing happen to anyone in the upper fort,
may nothing happen to the devotees who have come, may everything
go well for the chariot festival. They pray and
put these seeds in the soil. This is
called Ankurarpana [Music]
