Everyone loves getting packages, but
some people skip the ordering part and
go straight to stealing. These ones
didn't get far. Here are five instances
when cops surprise the out of porch
pirates in the act. Number five,
neighbor caught with package she claims
was delivered by mistake. On October
16th, 2023, police in Ohio were
dispatched to a neighborhood over a
stolen package. The victim had spent
almost $400 only to discover it was
taken by someone living next door.
Here's what happened when officers got
is And I wouldn't care, but it's like
$400 worth of stuff. It won't show up.
But So, that's their front porch.
There's the package. Okay. With that
little black thing right there. Yeah.
And so, um, you can't get to their front
porch because it's gained all. So, I
went to the side door and I knocked. A
younger girl came to the door, probably
close to my size. Um, and I asked for
it. They they gave me all the we weren't
even home. Blah blah blah blah blah. And
then she she said, "Okay." I said,
"Well, I'm going to call the police."
She goes, "Well, you can call Victoria
Secret." And I never once said where it
was from. I just said a package. Okay.
What's inside the package, if you don't
mind me asking? Um, so is it like a
whole laundry list of things? Oh, yeah.
um like all of this stuff. It's $400
worth of stuff. Okay. So,
okay. So, understandably, the woman was
reluctant to mention that the package
contained undergarments from Victoria's
Secret. However, with a photo showing it
on the neighbor's porch and now missing,
the officers had enough grounds to start
asking questions.
Hello. How are you? I'm all right. Um,
so she has a package that got delivered
here and she want back. Um, so she has
pictures that the package was in fact
delivered here and it was sitting right
on your porch. That's what she said.
Okay. I was in bed till 12:00 this
afternoon with my dogs and as you can
see they're very vocal and they were in
bed with me and my husband was not here.
So I believe if the picture shows that
the package was here I believe her the
picture shows that it was here but I
don't do not know anything else. All
right. Who all who all lives here? My
daughter. Me and my husband. Okay. Would
you mind bringing them out also? My
husband. Would you mind bringing them
out also? Pardon? Would you mind
bringing them out also so I can explain
the situation to them also? They were in
Rocky River. He went to get her.
Oh, perfect. There's a Ring doorbell
The house over there. The officer now
speaks with all three people inside the
home. One woman is firm in her denial,
claiming no one there knows anything
about the package, but the officer isn't
convinced. Hello. Hi. So, does anybody
have any idea about this package that
got delivered here? Cuz the package 100%
got delivered here. We have p She has
pictures of it. We know it got delivered
here at some point. No, when we got
home, there was nothing here. She I
don't know. Were you answering this
question? No, I was in bed till now.
Okay. So, what's going to happen is
I'm giving you guys the opportunity if
you guys did take it to just give it
back because if you don't, I'm going to
do a theft report and all three of you
are going to be listed as suspects. So,
what's going to happen? There's a Ring
doorbell right over there. So, I'm going
to go knock on that door and figure out
who came out and picked up that package
and whoever did that is going to get
charged with a theft. Okay? And that's
$400 worth of stuff. So, either we give
it back now, nobody gets in trouble or I
figure out who stole it and they're
going to get charged. That's what we're
doing. Okay.
Okay. Mhm. That's how we're going to
handle this.
If we find it and we know who took it,
it will be returned.
That's not how we're handling this. We
find out who took it. They're being
charged with theft. Okay? We're not
doing this. Oh, you got me. I'm on
camera. I took it. I'm going to give it
back now. They're going to be charged
with theft. I'm I will arrest them for
theft. I'm not playing around. Okay. So,
either give it back now or we're doing
I'm listing all three of you as suspects.
suspects.
Okay. Okay. Driver's license.
I have an ID. Is the state ID okay? Yes,
that's fine.
With a package missing in under three
hours, the officers gave the suspects a
chance to speak up, but all three of
them denied knowing anything about it.
She has proof that the packages was
delivered here. And what time did that
get delivered? 9:15. 9:15. So sometime
between 9:15 and basically When did you
first get here? Um, probably like maybe
the 12. And it was already gone.
Correct. It was already gone. It was
already gone. So between 9:15 and 12.
Yeah. Yeah. So So she has evidence that
it did in fact get delivered here. um
tried knocking on the door and got some
runaround story about um them like not
having it or something. There's a Ring
doorbell over there, so I'm going to try
and get uh who came and pick up the
package. So, so it sounds like these
people probably have the most likely.
Yeah, but they're not like they're not
fessing up to it. And I even gave them I
even gave him the out. I'm like, if you
guys just have it, just give it back to
them. Nobody gets charged. If you don't,
I'm going list all three of you as
suspects and then we find out who took
it. They're being charged with theft.
So, we'll see if they come out with the
uh the package or not. Do you know what
the package is? Yeah, it's from
Victoria's Secret. It's a whole list of
things. Like $400 worth of stuff. That's
a lot of stuff. Yeah. With these people
giving you like a hard time right away.
I got an attitude from her right away.
So, you're going to take on this? Yeah,
we'll probably do it. Sure. Okay. It's pretty
pretty
straightforward. You know, she ordered
the things that actually got delivered
here. She came to show up was already
gone. Do you have her information? I I
didn't get that for you for that.
What is it? Kind of waiting to see if
they come out with the object and be
like, "Oh, you know, here it is." Your
package is on the way out. All right.
Did you hear that? Yes. Thank you.
Perfect. I'd rather handle it this way.
I totally agree.
After speaking privately inside, the
family appears to come to an agreement.
Coming clean might be their best option.
Unfortunately for them, this case
doesn't end here.
And then not to uh it was opened. Not to
doubt anything, but I'm going to have
her check to make sure all the contents
are in there. She definitely needs to do
And if there is anything, I mean, we can
compensate if that's what needs to be
done. That'll be between you guys at
that point. Right on.
I don't I was made aware that package.
Other than that, I don't know. Okay.
We had nothing to do with this. All
right. Thank you. She's going to make
I'm going to go sort of in my truck.
I'll just I'll stand by just in case.
Who took the package?
Who took it? Yeah. Like it was on your
porch and you just grabbed it or like a
mistake or something? Well, I just got
grabbed by a mistake by my husband and
I'm the one who had it on the floor and
I never even noticed the name. I thought
it was my daughter. I didn't even look
because she does a lot of stuff I don't
know about. Okay. So, we did not do
anything shady. I just said
here without looking because I know I
didn't order it and I just threw it at
her because I didn't look when she heard
that. She heard that David would would
go to jail. No way. Or that I would. No
way. We weren't going to go to jail for
her. All right. She's missing about five
things. What is she missing? I can ask
her. They're all different itemized
things. So, I will have to She tell me.
Well, I think you need to go ask. I
suspect whoever has them knows what fire
they are. Yeah. Okay. Because they're
all different things. Okay. So I would I
would have to verify with her exactly
what things are missing cuz they're all
different. If she could tell me just go
check right now. Are they going to
check? Love that you're seeing all my
goods. Sorry.
I'm not trying to be nosy or anything,
but it could have ended here, but with
five items unaccustomed for the officers
aren't done. She said that she has
nothing else. You need to call Victoria
Secret on that one. And I believe her
because I used to order from Victoria's
Secret all the time and the whole order
did not come
because okay, she needs to check
somebody else. She needs to check with
them. I used to order and you get this.
So that's what you think is most
reasonable? Yeah.
Most sense to you right now? Yeah, it
does. Because she was scared that that
she she didn't she didn't steal it. No.
We're going through all this. Victoria
didn't send it. Yeah. Yeah. She's got
the the itemized receipt on her phone
and in the package. Okay. She's got the
itemized receipt on her phone and from
the actual inside the package and there
should be 15 things in there. I
understand that. But I have actually
been It doesn't matter what they're
going by. What? Okay. I know that Megan
said that she didn't have them. Okay.
Let's talk to Megan. Where is Megan at?
Why Why are we even talking to you?
Okay. Is Megan it at all?
Get Megan out here. Megan, get out of
here. Doing here. This is stupid. Megan
Megan
order from blaming the store for a
shipping error might have worked if they
hadn't already lied once. After giving
countless excuses, the officers are done
giving the two women the benefit of the
doubt. So there's like a slip in the bag
that has 15 things in total. They're all
different things. So it's not like one
thing is, you know, listed as quantity
one. Here's what we're going to do.
We're going to give her one chance to
get those other items. If not, we're
hooking her up and bringing her in. I'm
not playing these games. That's all. She
said it was in there. Victoria had
missed seven items. All right. What's
your name? Megan. All right, Megan. You
have one chance to get the stuff. You
have five items still missing or they're
missing the stuff. Ma'am, what do I do?
What about Victoria's Secret? I go to
jail for a year and package. I've been
missing items for Dora's Secret. That's
why you don't take in packages that
don't belong to you. I didn't. I threw
it down to her and I didn't look at the
name because I ordered so I didn't look
at your name. I really didn't. And now
because Victoria's Secret is going to
miss it. I mean, I had seven items.
That's fine. Basically deny taking it
all together. Calm down. So you denied
the whole thing. Wait. I wasn't even
here when it was. She had to leave the
bag and I made sure and
No, wait a minute. David threw it on the
floor. I had just got it in my living
area and she wasn't even here yet and I
threw it downstairs. I didn't even look
at the name and she said that I had
ordered Victoria too. Wait a minute.
They didn't even cooperate and say you
threaten to arrest him. Is that what it
looked like? That's exactly what
happened. I didn't want my husband going
to jail for something I didn't want.
Well, somebody's going to go to jail cuz
you guys obviously aren't fessing up and
giving all the items back and I'm giving
all the items back. Everything that No,
hang on. Everything. We've got five more
that are missing. Okay, I'm telling you,
Victoria's Secret is missing that. Not
me. They've done that for me. You can
check my underwear. You can check
everywhere. I have nothing but
Victoria's Secret. I get it. if it was
like one thing but
five items on my own. Sir, sir, I will
go down there and look again if you want
me to. I I sure hope you do cuz this is
your last chance. If you don't come up
with those five things, you're being
arrested. Why am I being arrested?
Because we're not playing this game.
She's not playing a game. I'm not
playing a game. I don't have a kid. Wait
a minute. Megan and her mother start
pointing fingers at the company,
claiming the five items were never in
the package. But under pressure, the two
of them start reaching for more excuses,
only making the situation worse. Got a
daughter and I have a new job. Has
nothing to do with this. Yes, it does. I
don't want to go back to jail. I'll go
to prison. Wait, did you understand? I'm
from Victoria Secret. Go downstairs and
make sure I did. I stay. Wait a second.
Can I say something? I'm tired of saying
stuff. This is I would go and I was
Megan. Hey, stay out here. We're still
talking to you. You're
stay. She's not giving you I'm giving
you instructions to stay right here. Do
you understand why people are I mean
there's Stop. I'm talking. Would you all
shut the
separate Megan? Come down. No, I'm not
going down with cops. I don't trust No,
you are. What? What am I going to do?
Stop. Come on. No. What? Don't touch me.
Don't touch me. What am I going to do?
Shut up. What am I doing? Get inside.
What am I doing right now? No. What are
you doing? Because you won't pass. Get
inside. You were killing him. Why didn't
you say taking me to jail? We're not
taking you to jail. You were detaining
you right now until we figure this all
out. Oh my god. Stop yelling. Stop.
Please leave me out of hiccups. This
better boy out. Let him seriously have
an inside attack. Ma'am, I don't have
your order. Take a deep breath. Shut up. Stop.
Stop.
I don't have the order. Where's the rest
of the ship? I don't know. I missed
seven items out of my order. I This is
not a first Victoria secret. Stop. Stop.
Stop. I have no reason to lie. All of us
want to leave and get on with our day.
That's what we all want. Do you want to
get my panties off? I mean, Jesus
Christ. That's what we want. Where's the
rest of the I don't have them. I don't
believe you. Can I?
Okay. Thanks a lot, Mom. No. No. Go
check my drawer, Mom. Go check my
drawer. Take any underwear. What did I do?
do?
I just got here.
With Megan detained, her mother starts
checking the house again, claiming the
missing items might still be there. For
now, officers are trying to keep her
calm and get her to cooperate.
Why are you staring at me? I can look at
you, can't I? N I'm sorry. What were the
last four? 220. Huh? What?
It's nothing to do with this. I'm
freezing right now. 62y old male 51.
seat. Still cold. Come on. Can you my
So, I mean, what's I mean, let me So, I just
just
secret it before. I don't care about
that. I don't care about that, but I'm a
little Just let him talk. I have I'm
bipolar and I'm anxiety bad. I have not
taken my medicine. Take a couple deep
breaths. Don't want to be in handcuffs.
Please. I'll be calm. Please. We were
past that brown eyes. She doesn't have a
license ID. Looks like he's got a
warrant for shoplifting out of Georgia.
Out of the pickup. It's out of pickup.
They don't want the pickup. They don't want
want
you 104. It's out of the pickup. They
don't want you. Are you going to be
Don't scream. I swear if you take the
hands off, I'll be cooperative.
No, we're past that point. You're just
being detained for a second. It's not a
big deal. Just take a breath.
So, let me get this straight. There's 15
items that were handed to you or thrown
to you. No, they were down there when I
got home. I understand. I was just told
to put them away. I didn't I just threw
them out. Listen, all I'm trying to do
right now is honestly, he showed up
first. You got to talk to you guys. I
really didn't get to hear the whole
thing. I just want to hear a little bit
more. Like there's That's all I know. I
was just told it. He's really hurt my
wrist right now. We're gone through
stand up for Yeah, I was. So, did you
like Did you open them up and look
through them or something? Yeah, she
told me to open cuz she I guess she
thought it was my order. I didn't I was
literally not even paying attention. I
just opened it and I threw it in the
bag. That's it. You got plenty of room
in What bag? Can you This one right
here. What? Yeah, because my bracelet's right
right
there. Is I made my wrist bigger cuz
I've had surgery if you notice. Yeah,
you got plenty of room in that one. It's
cutting this part right here.
Megan eventually regains her composure
and officers take the opportunity to dig
deeper. But as the conversation
continues, her statements begin to
contradict each other. You take them
off. I'll be I'll be cooperating. Just
don't pull on them. Can these things
please be taken off? Just relax. Relax.
Just like that. You'll be fine. I cannot
relax with you. What kind of experience
I've had? Okay. I don't like
relax. We're just trying to get things
What? So, when you're looking through
all those items and putting them away
like you said. Yeah. Did any of them did
it all seem like stuff that you ordered
or I didn't even pay attention. I was
just trying to I was doing what she told
me to clean the basement cuz I had so
much I just moved back in for my
boyfriend's. We broke up. Would you just
like grab them all? Yeah, through. Yeah,
pretty much. Okay. So, you're sure there
wasn't a mistake? Can I go double check
my drawer cuz she doesn't know what
she's looking for? I could probably tell
which if anything is in there. I thought
But you just said for sure nothing in
there. I can go double check cuz I
shoved them in there. You don't tell how
deep that it's antique drawer. You know
how deep that thing goes. I don't know.
Can I please go double check? One
second. I don't know what he was talking
about with your mom. So, I don't know if
you know they found him or didn't find
him. I don't know what's going on with
that. So, I want to kind of figure this
out together. Wait, wait, wait. What? He
was just talking to your mom, the other
officer down there. Yeah. About what? I
don't I don't know what he had to say
about this, but he'll stand with you.
After everything that's unfolded, the
officer checks in with a victim one last
time to see if she wants to move forward
with charges. And judging by the way
Megan and her mother handled the
situation, her answer isn't much of a surprise.
So it's like and
I I would have never got it back if you
guys didn't come here. So she would have
freely taken my stuff. Right. So yeah.
So, your options here, you can we you we
can go with theft and the best evidence
we have is that she took those items or
if you think you've got most of it and
you could get, you know, reach out to
Victoria's Secret, explain the situation
and if they would replace it. I I have
no idea if they would do that or or
whatever, but I'm just from if I'm in
your shoes, those are my two directions
I can go. Uh you just got to tell us
what you want to do so we know what to
do next. and by conscious too because
this girl was troubled.
My question to you is um do you order
stuff from Victoria Secret frequently?
Yeah. I mean I Yeah. How often do you
have problems with them not fulfilling
order? Never. I mean I'm an avid online
shopper. So you know I mean I don't
usually there's not stuff missing. So
that's why I Yeah. That's why that's why
I said to her, you know, one thing
missing. I can kind of understand when
they miss them, but five come on, right?
I mean, they're a pretty legit company,
so you know, they have checks and
balances. So, you know, Yeah. I mean, I
think that she took my stuff and that
she was going to keep it. Obviously, I
mean, I said I'm going to call cops.
Mhm. And then I mean, there's no way
that you open up all that stuff and you
you don't realize what you order, right?
So, so she did it. Yeah. Yeah, I want to
press charges. With the victim choosing
to press charges and considering Megan's
behavior up to this point, officers now
have enough grounds to take her in. In a
lastminute attempt to avoid more
trouble, Megan finally decides to speak
up, at least with part of the truth. Is
she really waking me up? I don't know.
Just take a breath. Well, there's
nothing there.
Just take a breath. We'll figure it out.
I promise you, Victoria Secret has
missed seven eyes my [ __ ] before. I'm
not lying over this. Well, that's what
we're figuring out, right? I want to go
back to alcohol to prison. I'm on felony
probation. Oh, I see.
But not Well, no, I'm actually I think
I'm off that. Yeah, I don't think Yeah.
Yeah, I'm off. You're not probation. Oh,
yeah. Yeah. I'm not I'm so used to I'm
so used to being on probation. That's so
bad. What's good? My whole life. All
right. She's uh coming in.
You're coming in for theft. Just go over
here. All right. H You're coming in for
theft. Wait, no. I Mom. Mom. Mom, go
check my drawer. Go check my drawer. No.
Can I go check my drawer? I can I
promise you I can probably find them.
No. You wear now. No. I promise. I
probably I said they're deep. Let's go
look. Can you take this out? Let's go.
No, you're staying in the cuffs. Let's
go look. Can you go with her? Mom, can
she go with me? Let's go. We'll go. How
about that? It'll be a big family party.
Come on. Stop yelling. Please. Please.
No. I asked him if I could go in there.
The same volume she's talking. Okay,
Megan, calm down. The footage from
inside the home is blurred to protect
privacy. However, officers later find
several brand new undergarments in
Megan's drawer. And despite claiming
earlier she didn't know they weren't
hers, she now seems to recognize each
one without hesitation. Can you let go
of me, please? No, we can't. They want
to take me in for a Can you let go of my
arm, please, so I can look? Can you
That's not mine.
Mom, you didn't look. Is there not?
There's stuff in here that's not mine.
Where? Right here. That one not mine.
This one's not mine. I didn't know that. Yeah.
Yeah.
You didn't look all the way. This is not
mine. Wait, hang on. I have a pair like
this. That's No, that's brand new. Mom,
you didn't look at this. No, I didn't
And hang on. Open this drawer. I threw
some in here. This one. Oh, you got to
open both handles there. Antique. It's
antique. Close this one. Pop one. Is
this? Yeah. That's mine. Mom, I got
that. That's a um from a thrift store.
Sorry. Mom, I told you I threw them in
between shirts. Look. Wait a minute.
Right there. No, there's one right here.
I told you I I You didn't check. She
normally checks to see how I fold and
everything and honestly I just threw
them in there. Right. The shirts. Mom, I
You didn't check. Why didn't you say it?
Because I told you I threw them in
between shirts so you wouldn't yell at
me and you told me. No. Mom, these are
shirts. Mom, it's towards the top where
I pointed at here. You're being an
airhead right there.
You know what? I told you I threw stuff
in. Seconds to do this. Now you see what
I'm saying? She yells at me for
everything. Now you won't go to jail if
you just done it in the beginning. She
won't go now, right? There five five
more items. What we got there? Four.
Is there something else? No, there's
nothing else. I swear to God. Here,
check in. Just one item missing. What?
How do you know what she's missing? What
is she missing exactly? Does she have
the order? Cuz I don't know what I'm
looking for here. Let's do it the easy
way. What doesn't belong to you? That's
all my underwear. Mine. My underwear.
Now, with only four undergarments
recovered, one remains missing. Megan
says she has no idea where it is,
prompting the officers to end the search
inside the home. That's all my underwear
now. So what else is she missing? She
doesn't even know. Shh. Quit cussing
that. You feel me? She doesn't even have
her number. Megan, come. You are in no
position to me like that. No, I'm just
like at you. It's like two of you like
frustrated. Both just stop talking. Get
your finger off me. Stop. Stop. God. I
mean, are you guys serious? We're just
like She's bipolar. Sorry. There's four
items here. Anxiety. There's one
missing. He wants a shirt or something.
No, that's what I'm saying. No, those
are all over. That's it. That's four
items. There's no other items here. No.
No. Check my drawers. Check them. I I
told you all I wear is Victoria's
Secret. She was lying.
Let's go back upstairs. Let's We'll go.
Yeah. Oh, can you not do that? Wait. It
hurts. Yeah.
It doesn't He even loosened them for
you. No, he didn't. Well, there's you
can put your whole finger. Oh, no. My
wrist is bad, though. I have a broken wrist.
Wait for me.
I didn't know.
I didn't know there. I told her to look there.
there.
where you were before.
I'll stay with her. You go. Can I come
out? I'd rather not. No, no, no. She'll
keep me calm. I'll keep her calm. I'd
rather not. I'll keep She would keep me calm.
calm.
Yeah. Mom, thank you. Put you
on or that's going to get you in
What was that for? You're being detained
right now. I don't want you having
access to your phone. Megan. Megan. Shh.
Shh. Why am I being taken for this? I
just got home with this. You're not in
This is not fair. Mom, stop. The
neighbors can hear you. That's all
you're worried about instead of your
daughter going to over this. Megan,
you're not in a position to be talking
this way. One of the officers now moves
to verify if the recovered items
actually match the ones from the
victim's package. However, as the
investigation continues, Megan's
attitude only grows worse. Stop. You're
probably not going to get in any trouble
now because you gave them everything and
one thing's missing from that. It was
missing. Shh. Stop.
Stop. [Applause]
[Applause]
I don't
stop right now. Pretend like you can't
talk. Um, so there's four items here.
Okay. We look She swears up and down
that that's the only thing. So what else
were you missing? So it would So there
was five additional items, I think. So
yeah. So, she probably has them on cuz
if they're all the underwear, right?
Which I'm not going to $5. I'm not going
to So, are you I mean, I I I still think
that she should get in trouble.
I mean, she took it. She took it. You
know, I I just, you know, that's that's
to me people. That's a lot of money and
that's she's just going to take and
there's no way you could just Oh, I
So, since you have all the items back
now, well, except for the one, which
Yeah. You still want to do the
prosecution then?
She's can't force you to go one way. I
know that. But I mean, she she was going
to steal my stuff, though.
Yeah. You know, I mean, I just don't
think that people should get away with
that. I don't know. I don't steal
people's. Okay. Um, so yes, then we kind
of need a definite. Yes. Yes. I mean,
She was not giving it back.
All right. So, she still wants to desire
prosecution for the one item that's
missing. Are you kidding me? I don't
have it.
The thing is, we had to go through all
of this just to even get the package
back. I told her where to check.
No, I told her where to check. No, don't
take me in. No, wait. No, don't let go.
I love it. Well, we're passing out this
morning. What if
I help? What if I paid for the item?
No. Hannah, let go. Okay. What is going
to happen? Is this the underwear you
gave me, Mom? For how long, ma'am? Is it
Ask her if it's a pink pair under. Ask
her if it's pink bear underwear. Ask
her. I'm wearing them.
Ask her if it's a pink pair of
underwear. I'll take them off. Mom, no.
Mom, you gave me a pink pair underwear.
Did that come out of the package? Did
it? Yeah. Yeah, I did. Ma'am, I have
them. Can you please tell her?
Ma'am, I have them. Can you please I
don't have any shoes on.
Mom. Mom, I don't Can you please tell
her? Yeah, bring some shoes. Can you
please tell her? What am I being taken
to jail for? Why? Which side? Say no to
everyone. Huh? My mom put him in my
room. You're stuck on my butt. Mom, take
a seat. Oh my god. Help me. Mom,
can you please tell that lady my mom
gave me the pink pair of underwear? Ask
her if those are it. Can you ask her
before you take me in? Can you read?
Sir, can you or Megan was ultimately
charged with theft? Number four. Holiday
season brings out porch pirates, and
this one got caught. On December 18th,
2021, a woman reported seeing a man
stealing her Amazon package from her
porch. After receiving the complaint, an
officer on patrol spotted a man in a
black Toyota sedan matching the
suspect's description and quickly pulled
Hey, how we doing today? Hey, we're
doing pretty good. How you doing? Doing
well. You got your driver's license on
you, sir?
And can I ask what you're doing today?
Um, I'm driving home. I just got back
from work.
Okay. Driving home. Yes. Where you stay
at? And you said you're getting off
work. Where's work at? So, what are you
doing over here then? Um, I'm driving
through. I got to meet a friend um right
at Five Points. And then I usually drop
off stuff. We're doing a secret Santa
kind of deal. So, I got to go get condor
choppers. Why'd you stop back there?
Back here? Yeah. because there was
somebody pulling up in front of me and I
was trying to make sure that
I wasn't like getting in anybody's way.
Nobody was pulling up in front of you.
Well, you stopped turning on your
you. Any weapons or anything in the car?
Go ahead. Dark hair, black co mask,
black t-shirt.
Several doorbell cameras caught the
suspect in the act, leaving little room
for doubt. With a footage confirming his
appearance, the officer is now more
confident they've got the right person.
You want to go ahead and step out? You
can leave it on, off, however you want
to do it. I'm just going to roll this up
so it doesn't uh get all wet. Okay, let
me tell you what's going on. Okay. So,
you're well aware, we have lots of video
footage from people stealing packages.
Um, you're wearing exactly what they
just described as a theft that took
place 3 4 minutes ago. Oh, wow. And
yeah. Yeah. Black shirt, short sleeve,
black mask. The photos that we have from
the Ring cameras look exactly like you
and you're driving the same car with the
same chrome outline on the windows as
what we have. So, right now, you're
fitting our suspect description very
well. You're in the area and it just
occurred and you stopped in front of
that other house that had two packages
on the front porch. Okay. So therefore,
we're going to investigate this a little
further. We're going to figure out what
exactly is going on. Okay. And um we're
probably going to end up searching the
car, your car, to see if the package is
in there, the one that was just stolen.
So, do you have anything in the car that
I need to know about or do you want to
go ahead and come clean and say, "Yeah,
I just took that package off the porch."
Or is there anything you want to say to
kind of defend yourself right now? Um
well, I will say I did take a package.
Okay. Um my house just a little bit back
there on the ways. Yeah, just a couple
minutes ago, right? Yes. Mhm. Um you
still have that package in your car?
Yeah. Okay, sounds good. Go ahead and
put your hands behind your back real
quick. Okay,
the best way to do it is if you pray.
go. 63
central. You have any weapons or
anything on here? No, I should have my I
don't have my wallet. You don't have
your wallet either. Thank you. All
right. So, have a seat. What I'm going
to do is I'm going to read you a Miranda
Okay. The driver admitted pre-arrest
that he did just steal the package a
couple minutes ago. Probably the one
that I'm on. He confesses to stealing
but insists it wasn't from multiple
homes. That claim doesn't hold up for
long as officers find over a dozen
stolen packages in his car. All right.
Because you're in handcuffs, because
you're being detained, at this point, I
do have to read this. Okay? And there'll
be a yes or no question at the end. You
can either tell me yes, and we can do
what we need to do or no, and I'll shut
up and leave you alone. Okay? You have
the right to remain mine. Do you still
wish to talk to me now? Uh, sure. I
guess. Yes. Answer for me. Yes. Yes.
Okay. So, like I said, you're matching
the description of what we have from
today. You admitted to me before Hold
on. Go ahead. I'm quick. Um, words are
hard for me right now cuz you just
totally messed up my mojo. Good. Yep.
You, brother. Take it easy. So, like I
said, we have a bunch of different uh
video footage of somebody that looks an
awfully lot like you and the vehicle
that matches perfectly to everything
that we have from Ring cameras and
stuff. So, with that in mind, is there
any other thefts that you have committed
within the past couple days? Not that
you're aware of. Okay. And if we go
through your car right now, we're not
going to find anything other than
whatever you stole today. Correct.
Okay. Well, yeah. I don't need your
on. Getting stuck
on. Get in here. Anyways, are those
cuffs too tight? What was that? Are the
cuffs too tight? Um, okay. put your feet
like that way and angle your back
towards me. Let me check them. Make sure
that they're not too bad. I know this
seat is the most uncomfortable thing in
the world. So,
yeah. Well, give that one a little bit
of room. Hold on. I think I forgot the
double locking the first time, so they
might have gotten tighter the first
time. That's a lot of stuff for uh just one
porch. So, actually, I'll come back
there. It's more personal. None of the
packages found in the suspect's car are
in his name. Even worse, the variety of
items from shoes, toys, electronics, and
makeup shows he wasn't picky about who
he stole from. So, like I said, with
with all the package thefts that have
been going on and people holidays are
starting to leave
and we'd like to interview you about
some of the other thefts that occurred.
Would you be willing to speak with a
detective to either, you know, clear
your name or for those at least
specifically clear your name for those
or maybe they might have other
forwarding questions about it?
You got
gloves. Search the
car. Basically, all that is is that a
detective that has already looked at the
cases that's more familiar with them,
cuz I'm not.
um they can actually ask you questions
that are related to it instead of me
just spitting out stuff that I know
nothing about. I mean, honestly, like
I'd be willing to talk to them. Okay. I
don't know if I need to be able to help
or anything, but
yeah. Oh, that's a lot of packages. Mhm.
Well, you don't know what's in the box
till you open it.
So, Oh, yeah. Yeah, he knew it was
right. That's fine. If you're willing to
talk to him, we can have that arranged.
That was the main thing was that we
didn't know if you would you would want
to or if you were just uninterested.
Hey, my guy.
Be honest. Is that the only house you
you went to? Honestly, I Cuz I've got
several different addresses right now.
I don't want to say anything currently.
You say he doesn't want to say anything
currently, but he is okay with meeting
with detectives. Go ahead. Yeah, we're
not seeing the MacBook, but there are a
lot of different packages with different
I'll have them up there for whoever
I mean, they brand new. Ain't got no
mud, no dirt, no nothing. I would think
that would probably have popped out of a
package, too. Take them. At the station,
the suspect faces a detective who's
ready to ask tougher questions. And this
time there's nowhere to run from the
truth. We're going to take these cuffs
off you. We trust you're not going to
try to get up and run out of here or
anything. Appreciate that. All right.
You can have a seat if you want. You can
take your mask down. I'm sitting quite a
bit apart. Okay. All right. Well, they
obviously arrested you and you're under
arrest. You understand that, right?
You're not free to leave. You are
considered in custody. I want to talk to
you about these package thefts. Uh, I
mean, you know, you had a car full of
packages. Yes, sir. Um, they caught you
in the act and I have some video. So, I
want to go over some things with you,
but since you're in custody, I have to
read you the Miranda warning. Okay. To
see if you still want to talk to me. So,
you do have the right to remain silent.
Do you understand each of these rights
I've explained to you? Yes, sir. Having
these rights in mind, do you wish to
talk to me now? I guess. Yes, sir.
What's going on, man? Why are you taking
people's packages? I don't know. I mean
that's that's the main thing is why
because you know most of the time it's
like dog food and right? Yeah. So are
you down on your luck? Are you I mean
what's the deal? I don't know. It's hard
to I mean it's I guess it's not hard to
explain. Um the biggest thing is like I
have to afford school. Okay. And you
know I just am struggling and I mean
that makes sense. So you're it's a
financial thing. You're looking for
stuff of value. I don't know. I
have you ever been in trouble before?
No, I'm like I mean not great student,
but like good student. Okay. Well, so
and and this are investigations early
on, but I did a real quick look and
there were stuff in your car from four
different houses packages. And there's
mail, too. Are you taking out of
mailboxes as well? I don't know. Okay. I
mean I mean so I mean I Let me Let me
show you this. Let me show you a couple
things. The detective shows the suspect
several videos from ring cameras that
caught him in the act. While the footage
isn't shown directly on screen, reports
confirm that the man in the videos looks
exactly like the suspect being
questioned. I mean, have you seen the
videos? Have the officer showed you any
videos yet? Um, I saw one of the videos.
That's yesterday. That's you, is it not?
I mean, it looks just like you. So,
that's you. Um, see where there's one
more on here. Not everybody has a Ring
camera, but they're they're kind of
they're becoming more and more common.
Yeah. So, there's that one and there's
this neighbors app and people post
videos on here. This right here, I mean,
right there, I I can tell that's you
just just by the hair alone, man. So, we
got those two. Um, we got the one today.
Is Is there any Is any of the stuff that
you've been stealing from these
mailboxes at your house? What was that?
Is there anything at your house from
these mailboxes? Um, no. It shouldn't
be. So everything should be in your car.
Nothing else. Um, is anybody else
working with you or are you just doing
this alone? No. God, no. I'm by myself.
Okay. So, I know the packages are from
porches, but what about the mail? Are
you checking people's mailboxes, too?
Um, I don't really want to talk about
That's fine. Um, let me ask you this.
You stole anything out of a car
recently? Um, no. Because we had a
girl's laptop stolen from her car the
other day and it was pinging. You know,
you know how Apple products work. It was
pinging right there at your house. I I'm
just now putting all this together. When
we search your house, are we gonna find
that girl's laptop? You might. Okay.
Another girl in that same area had her
um debit card stolen and someone tried
to use it at an ATM. No, I'm Well, I
didn't know. Is that going to be you?
No, I don't. That's like You didn't try
to use anybody's card at an ATM? No, I
remember. Okay. Um, but we might find
that girl's laptop. Did you take it from
that car yourself? Yes. Okay. Is that
the first time you've ever taken it from
a car? Yes. Okay. The detective now
presses further, asking a key question
about the suspect's motive. Depending on
how he answers, things could get much
worse for him. Lux, you're taking
packages. I mean, have you sold anything
yet? No. I That's the thing. I don't I
had never really wanted to sell anything
or anything like that. I was just It's
like Christmas time and you're going to
regift stuff potentially. Okay. But you
haven't sold anything yet. Is this just
something you did at spur of the moment?
It was honestly like I saw a package and
I was like,
how long have you been doing this, man?
Not very long. It was pretty a week, two
weeks. Maybe like a week. Okay. So,
other than that girl stolen computer,
are we going to find anything else in
your apartment that anything else
illegal? Sure. No more
packages. All right. Just hang tight. Be
right back. All right. Here's what's
going to happen tonight. Sure. They're
going to take you to jail and they're
going to book you in for felony theft by
taking. The law is actually called porch
piracy, but if you have three or more
people's packages or mail, it's
considered a felony. We don't have that.
That charge isn't in our computer system
yet, but that's what you're actually
being charged with, but we're booking
you in for felony theft because it's the
closest we have. So, you'll get a bond,
but we're getting a search warrant for
your apartment now. Um, you're going to
have a warrant at some point for that
entering auto. So, hopefully we don't
find anything else, but for now, you're
going to be taken and booked in for that
felony theft. Man, you got any
questions? Um, can I call my parents?
You'll be able to soon. Um, what's Let
me let me get my phone number. Do you
think your roommates are going to be
home? Um, one of them will be. Well,
we're going to keep your keys. We'll put
them into evidence because we don't want
to have to kick your door. What What's
your parents' phone number? That's my
mother's. So, here's the way we're
probably going to do all the package
thefts is together as one felony so that
you don't have to worry about getting
charged with every package we find. Um,
but the entering auto is something
totally different. There's no other
crimes we're going to link you to.
Correct. Correct. All right. Well, good
luck with this, man. Don't be We know
who you are now.
Officers didn't waste time. That night,
they served a search warrant at the
suspect's home, hoping to recover stolen
property, including the MacBook reported
stolen from a woman's parked car just
days earlier.

I'm going to go with this one. No one.
Why not? Clark County Police with a

that?
Clark County Police Department. Search warrant.
The search revealed a growing pile of
stolen property, including Amazon boxes
filled with laptops, jackets, a bottle
of liquor, and various other items. With
that, officers visited one of the
victims to ask if they wanted to pursue
charges. Girl across the street, she's
out of town, and she texted me that she
had video of somebody taking her
package. Mhm. And then uh I got an email
from a package I had ordered that said
it was delivered at 148 to my mailbox.
So I went to my mailbox and my package
wasn't there. So but I don't have any
video of it. So I mean I don't know. I'm
just assuming. Oh, you don't have to
assume. Okay. It's Do you know that? Do
you know y'all have it? It's from Chico.
Mhm. You do have it. Yeah. Well, I can't
believe this person's so brazen cuz it's
been going on here for cuz what? Right
up the road. Yeah. And then my next door
neighbor had three stolen from her. So
they hit like across from it. They Wow.
They think it's all the same. I guess
maybe you can't see. Almost everyone in
this neighborhood has rain cameras,
which is fantastic. And it's pretty
silly for someone to, you know, in broad
daylight, you know, especially in this
type of neighborhood where everyone
looks out for everyone, you know,
there's always people walking around
and, you know, y'all got him. We got a
we got a suspect. Was it one person? Um,
like I said, it's still, you know,
ongoing, but uh, you know, lots of
people in the neighborhood have provided
footage. So, I'm not sure if they're
falling around an Amazon truck, you
know, just kind of sitting behind it
watching them, you know, just put it in
and just, you know, going by, you know,
but most of the packages have been taken
off like front doorsteps, right? You
know, it's just hard to believe. Would
you like to press charges for the theft
of your package? Oh, yes. Huh. Theft? I
don't know. I mean, I don't know. I
mean, I don't What What does that mean?
I mean, I don't want to I mean, no,
we're going to press charges. Yeah. I
think you want to do that. Yes. Do you I
mean in the end the man was charged with
felony porch piracy and misdemeanor
theft by taking number three repeat

Number two, male thief plays dumb after
getting caught in the act. During a
routine patrol on December 26th, 2023,
officers in New Jersey spotted a man
loitering around a mailbox. When they
saw him drop a tool inside, they decided

I don't know what you're talking about.

Please. Please. Not right now. I don't

What is your name? Angel, bro. Bro,

you're not uh
No, man. I'm throwing that in there,
bro. Oh, perfect for who? I'm throwing
that in there.
That's family stuff, bro. That's Here's
the deal. Yeah, bro. I'm read your
rights. You have the right to man say
anything you say. Well, what are you
locked against you in the court of law?
Not locked up. Yeah, relax. You have the
right to have an attorney present
questioning that towards me. Listen to
me. Pay attention to me. I'm reading you
your rights. All right. Yeah, bro. Why
you reading that to me? He said, "I'm
not locked up." Officers found several
envelopes that had already been fished
out of the mailbox by the suspects
scattered on the ground. He insists he
was just dropping off mail for his
family, but the officers know what they
saw, and they're not falling for his
excuses. What the are my popcorn? You of
your rights so you can tell me whether
or not you want to speak with me. Do you
understand? Yeah. So, you have the right
to an attorney. All right. Can't afford
to be appointed to you. Do you want to
Yes or no? Yeah, but am I getting locked

I know. Okay, good. What's your name?

Stay. Yeah, I'll show you. There's more

about? Yeah. Well, that's probably not
going to help your case, man. I don't
know what you're talking about cuz you
didn't see me take that mail. All right.
So, you didn't see me take that nail,
bro. You lock the mail. Where's the

bro. They're sending it out. They want
me to send it out. It's Christmas. I'm
going to send it out. Oh, okay. All
