AO welcome to another edition of the
slin film festival bubbles if sometimes
I tell you that we have bubbles from
Brussels then today you can take it
really seriously because we have um
we're really proud to have two young
actors here with us and one is from
Brussels and both of them are from
Belgium and we're super proud they come
here to represent a beautiful film
called young
hearts L hens and Marius the Sager uh
play the main the two main characters in
Young Hearts and maybe one of them can
tell us in let's say five sentences what
this film is all about okay should I do
it okay so uh y Hearts is about Alias um
a boy who lives in a uh in Belgium and
uh he gets a new neighbor called
Alexander played by marus and um they
fall in love and alas has more questions
than answers um throughout the film so
it's kind of like the s
um to his identity to who he really is
and um to follow his heart but it's that
was a very good short resume okay
um when I was watching the film and of
course it's it's the language that that
I understand uh it struck me how
realistic the dialogues are was it all
written on paper or you had to improvise
or did you have any input in in the
dialogues because this is how not kids I
mean young people talk to each other
these days I think before each scene we
spoke with our director and the kid
coach uh was always on set and we just
um read the dialogues and told the
director how we would see say it and
then we played like
this there's also there's a lot of
school scenes but you do it together
with all the other kids in in your class
or with a group of friends and there it
was the same the but we uh became so
good friends
um with by with filming this whole film
so it was really easy for us to kind of
make some new dialogues to give some
input in scenes it it surprised me also
when I was observing this group of
friends they are of course there's
conflicts and there's tensions but
actually they're super nice to each
other they really try to take care of
each other yeah that was also the same
um when the camera wasn't rolling we
were so we were it was such a warm
friend group and yes they were amazing
super nice to hear it because it really
struck me in the film starts with the
the Running Scene that you are the one
who's running there and asking the
others like can you still do it yes
which is just it's so nice to take care
of each other we also have contact uh we
also still have contact you're still in
contact with each other with so that's
great uhhuh um but of course within this
big group of friends you two have a
special Bond and special relationship which
which
shows for instance through the eye
contact that you have or the way you
look at each other which is just just a
tiny little bit longer than people would
normally look at each other um or The
Nearness the being close to each other
which is just a tiny little bit closer
how did you work on that to make it so
beautiful that it was not over the top
it was just spot on how did you do that
I think it's it was very natural how we
did it because before the film we didn't
know each other uh at all and now we are
almost best friends mhm um and the kids
coach was always there so we could uh
ask him things if we had questions and
he always had answers uh to our
questions um so yeah it was just it felt
very natural actually it came very
natural we didn't think a lot about it I
no but we also you know it was very safe
space around set so that made it uh
particularly for that made
it that was that was that safe
atmosphere was created there to exactly
give the best possible performance
that's why just the production assistant
had to come and tell you s a little bit
further away from each other please
because you're used to be like this but
in that relationship that we see on
screen one of you is going a little bit
faster than the other one how did you
work that
out um I feel like I it's it's also in
real life a bit like this because I am
from Brussel so I I've seen more it's
not like he bit more adventurous so when
we walk around you're like jumping and
I'm like following but just a little
slow little really yes but I think you
look very much alike to Alexander yeah
instead of the whole yeah yeah uh sexual
sexuality I think you and Alexander have
some pretty
uh reference and I think that's also
with Alas and me I think that there are
some things that were very alike to how
we are in real life mhm cuz normally I
would never ask that question like how
much do you resemble your character
because you were actors but then there
was this coincidence it work that made
it a bit easier to understand the whole
film and the ID behind
it means that also in real life you have
the same blue eyes as you have on screen
uh yes I do there's some scenes that you
look into the camera that they're quite
spectacularly blue huh
huh
um there's also some because you are a a
Brussels boy yeah there's some nice
scenes on the farm and the moment you
arrive on the farm you you say in the
film like I've never been on a farm
before and then two seconds later you're
there with a little piggy in your arms
how was that uh the pig scene was
actually very funny because uh the pigs
were really loud and uh how do you say
that um active yeah uh I so funny I had
a pig did with his head Puck with here
uh CU I I had to hold him like this and
his head was moving around so it was
really hard I also gave you the most
wild pick cuz it was so funny on screen
see the direct asked me as K you gave
him the wildest pick was so nice was
really funny and also when we arrived on
that everyone was like oh so cute and
the set was really quiet and then those
pigs start they start to become wild and
it was really funny I think that was one
of our favorite scenes to film for me
was I think at the same time even if I'm
super happy that you're here at the same
time I have an intensive hate towards
you because I'm you made me cry so many
times so many times there is this one
scene in the film and it's actually your
scene uh that was used as a teaser for
the film so I saw it already many times
before the famous car scene where you in
the car yes um and I mean there's no way
around it when when you see the scene
even out of its context your heart
breaks yeah I think it's also um the
actor actress who plays my mom Emily she
was such a warm person that it made it
was so natural for me to kind of talk to
her like it was was my own mom um so I
think it's also her that it was it was a
very nice um nice time to shoot it it
was I I felt very um comfortable around
um Emily and also DK who plays my
grandpa was also amazing so actually to
explain uh it's the scene when you for
the first time tell your parents or your
your mother in the presence of some
other family members how you feel about
Alexander yes did you when you were
filming it did you realize that that
there was something special about this
this scene um I think um towards the
scene everyone went like in focus and I
talked about it with my brother who also
plays my brother so the character MIM is
my brother sh uh which I love very much
and um yeah so we talked about it and I
kind of got into the focus and tried to
find some things that could be
interesting think about and to uh play
um so yeah it was I don't know how to
say this um I think we yeah we went into
a very deep focus and everyone was
really quiet and really respectful
towards each other towards each other
and I think that was very important yeah
and of course for the audience you all
have the feeling that you want to
comfort this boy who feels so lonely and
heartbroken and then in fact your mom
that's exactly what your mom does and
everyone is
like she knows how to do it so everybody
feels like he's in good hands um you
going to have a check screening here uh
in the festival you didn't tonight and
tomorrow what's your first impressions
about the city uh I like it it's I feel
like it's a bit old and a bit like I
don't know how to say it but I like the
city we walked around this morning and
kind of the Cool vibe you know like
abandoned places and yeah very cool it
looks so deserted that it gets a
cool but you you know about the city you
know that it was built on one thing yeah
yes on the shoes one Arch architect yeah
yeah but I mean yeah but the the the the
shoes yeah the whole shoe story so that
is why everyone in the studio every
guest in the festival bubble is supposed
to put his feet on the table so that the
camera can show your shoes and you can
tell us a story about why these shoes
where do they come from why do you want
to go first yeah so I put my foot on the
table yeah
please so um I got these shoes when I
was shopping for my clothes for the
berala um and then I got these shoes
because I like them very much and now I
wear them as my shoes so they were
bought for a very special yeah event and
now they became um they grew on you yeah
okay we're very proud that you're
wearing your barely n shoes in the L
Film Festival thank you for that and so
mine um I went to France uh some time
ago with some friends of mine and it was
very nice and I kind of needed something
to buy uh I don't know why I needed
that's your souvenir so yeah that's kind
of my souvenir and I I saw they speak
French uh they smell French what they
speak French or they smell French ah um
I would say they identify as Frenchmen
but I don't know if they speak French or
anything else okay but yeah I bought
them in France and I'm really happy with
them and you brought them to Czech
Republic thank you so much for sharing
your shoe stories with us thank you so
much for being here with us and thank
you so much for the wonderful young
hearts movie that you brought to the
festival and thank you so much for being
in our Zin Film Festival bubble we hope
to welcome you here again and of course
we hope to welcome you in one of the
Young Hearts screenings in this year's
Zin Film Festival thanks everybody aoy bye
