0:03 AO welcome to another edition of the
0:05 slin film festival bubbles if sometimes
0:06 I tell you that we have bubbles from
0:09 Brussels then today you can take it
0:11 really seriously because we have um
0:13 we're really proud to have two young
0:15 actors here with us and one is from
0:16 Brussels and both of them are from
0:18 Belgium and we're super proud they come
0:20 here to represent a beautiful film
0:21 called young
0:26 hearts L hens and Marius the Sager uh
0:28 play the main the two main characters in
0:30 Young Hearts and maybe one of them can
0:32 tell us in let's say five sentences what
0:36 this film is all about okay should I do
0:40 it okay so uh y Hearts is about Alias um
0:44 a boy who lives in a uh in Belgium and
0:46 uh he gets a new neighbor called
0:50 Alexander played by marus and um they
0:54 fall in love and alas has more questions
0:58 than answers um throughout the film so
1:00 it's kind of like the s
1:03 um to his identity to who he really is
1:07 and um to follow his heart but it's that
1:10 was a very good short resume okay
1:13 um when I was watching the film and of
1:14 course it's it's the language that that
1:18 I understand uh it struck me how
1:20 realistic the dialogues are was it all
1:22 written on paper or you had to improvise
1:24 or did you have any input in in the
1:27 dialogues because this is how not kids I
1:28 mean young people talk to each other
1:32 these days I think before each scene we
1:34 spoke with our director and the kid
1:39 coach uh was always on set and we just
1:42 um read the dialogues and told the
1:45 director how we would see say it and
1:47 then we played like
1:49 this there's also there's a lot of
1:51 school scenes but you do it together
1:53 with all the other kids in in your class
1:54 or with a group of friends and there it
1:59 was the same the but we uh became so
2:00 good friends
2:04 um with by with filming this whole film
2:06 so it was really easy for us to kind of
2:08 make some new dialogues to give some
2:11 input in scenes it it surprised me also
2:13 when I was observing this group of
2:15 friends they are of course there's
2:17 conflicts and there's tensions but
2:18 actually they're super nice to each
2:20 other they really try to take care of
2:24 each other yeah that was also the same
2:26 um when the camera wasn't rolling we
2:29 were so we were it was such a warm
2:33 friend group and yes they were amazing
2:35 super nice to hear it because it really
2:37 struck me in the film starts with the
2:39 the Running Scene that you are the one
2:41 who's running there and asking the
2:43 others like can you still do it yes
2:45 which is just it's so nice to take care
2:48 of each other we also have contact uh we
2:50 also still have contact you're still in
2:52 contact with each other with so that's
2:56 great uhhuh um but of course within this
2:59 big group of friends you two have a
3:02 special Bond and special relationship which
3:03 which
3:06 shows for instance through the eye
3:07 contact that you have or the way you
3:10 look at each other which is just just a
3:12 tiny little bit longer than people would
3:15 normally look at each other um or The
3:17 Nearness the being close to each other
3:20 which is just a tiny little bit closer
3:22 how did you work on that to make it so
3:24 beautiful that it was not over the top
3:26 it was just spot on how did you do that
3:29 I think it's it was very natural how we
3:31 did it because before the film we didn't
3:34 know each other uh at all and now we are
3:37 almost best friends mhm um and the kids
3:40 coach was always there so we could uh
3:43 ask him things if we had questions and
3:46 he always had answers uh to our
3:50 questions um so yeah it was just it felt
3:51 very natural actually it came very
3:54 natural we didn't think a lot about it I
3:57 no but we also you know it was very safe
4:01 space around set so that made it uh
4:03 particularly for that made
4:07 it that was that was that safe
4:10 atmosphere was created there to exactly
4:11 give the best possible performance
4:13 that's why just the production assistant
4:15 had to come and tell you s a little bit
4:16 further away from each other please
4:19 because you're used to be like this but
4:21 in that relationship that we see on
4:24 screen one of you is going a little bit
4:26 faster than the other one how did you
4:28 work that
4:33 out um I feel like I it's it's also in
4:35 real life a bit like this because I am
4:38 from Brussel so I I've seen more it's
4:40 not like he bit more adventurous so when
4:42 we walk around you're like jumping and
4:44 I'm like following but just a little
4:48 slow little really yes but I think you
4:51 look very much alike to Alexander yeah
4:55 instead of the whole yeah yeah uh sexual
4:58 sexuality I think you and Alexander have
5:00 some pretty
5:03 uh reference and I think that's also
5:06 with Alas and me I think that there are
5:09 some things that were very alike to how
5:12 we are in real life mhm cuz normally I
5:13 would never ask that question like how
5:15 much do you resemble your character
5:17 because you were actors but then there
5:20 was this coincidence it work that made
5:23 it a bit easier to understand the whole
5:25 film and the ID behind
5:28 it means that also in real life you have
5:30 the same blue eyes as you have on screen
5:33 uh yes I do there's some scenes that you
5:35 look into the camera that they're quite
5:38 spectacularly blue huh
5:40 huh
5:43 um there's also some because you are a a
5:45 Brussels boy yeah there's some nice
5:46 scenes on the farm and the moment you
5:48 arrive on the farm you you say in the
5:50 film like I've never been on a farm
5:52 before and then two seconds later you're
5:54 there with a little piggy in your arms
5:57 how was that uh the pig scene was
6:00 actually very funny because uh the pigs
6:03 were really loud and uh how do you say
6:08 that um active yeah uh I so funny I had
6:12 a pig did with his head Puck with here
6:14 uh CU I I had to hold him like this and
6:16 his head was moving around so it was
6:19 really hard I also gave you the most
6:22 wild pick cuz it was so funny on screen
6:24 see the direct asked me as K you gave
6:27 him the wildest pick was so nice was
6:29 really funny and also when we arrived on
6:32 that everyone was like oh so cute and
6:34 the set was really quiet and then those
6:37 pigs start they start to become wild and
6:39 it was really funny I think that was one
6:42 of our favorite scenes to film for me
6:46 was I think at the same time even if I'm
6:48 super happy that you're here at the same
6:50 time I have an intensive hate towards
6:54 you because I'm you made me cry so many
6:56 times so many times there is this one
6:58 scene in the film and it's actually your
7:02 scene uh that was used as a teaser for
7:04 the film so I saw it already many times
7:06 before the famous car scene where you in
7:10 the car yes um and I mean there's no way
7:12 around it when when you see the scene
7:14 even out of its context your heart
7:19 breaks yeah I think it's also um the
7:22 actor actress who plays my mom Emily she
7:26 was such a warm person that it made it
7:29 was so natural for me to kind of talk to
7:31 her like it was was my own mom um so I
7:35 think it's also her that it was it was a
7:38 very nice um nice time to shoot it it
7:43 was I I felt very um comfortable around
7:46 um Emily and also DK who plays my
7:48 grandpa was also amazing so actually to
7:50 explain uh it's the scene when you for
7:52 the first time tell your parents or your
7:54 your mother in the presence of some
7:57 other family members how you feel about
8:00 Alexander yes did you when you were
8:02 filming it did you realize that that
8:04 there was something special about this
8:07 this scene um I think um towards the
8:11 scene everyone went like in focus and I
8:13 talked about it with my brother who also
8:16 plays my brother so the character MIM is
8:20 my brother sh uh which I love very much
8:23 and um yeah so we talked about it and I
8:26 kind of got into the focus and tried to
8:28 find some things that could be
8:33 interesting think about and to uh play
8:36 um so yeah it was I don't know how to
8:40 say this um I think we yeah we went into
8:42 a very deep focus and everyone was
8:44 really quiet and really respectful
8:46 towards each other towards each other
8:48 and I think that was very important yeah
8:50 and of course for the audience you all
8:52 have the feeling that you want to
8:55 comfort this boy who feels so lonely and
8:57 heartbroken and then in fact your mom
8:59 that's exactly what your mom does and
9:01 everyone is
9:04 like she knows how to do it so everybody
9:07 feels like he's in good hands um you
9:10 going to have a check screening here uh
9:12 in the festival you didn't tonight and
9:14 tomorrow what's your first impressions
9:19 about the city uh I like it it's I feel
9:24 like it's a bit old and a bit like I
9:26 don't know how to say it but I like the
9:29 city we walked around this morning and
9:32 kind of the Cool vibe you know like
9:35 abandoned places and yeah very cool it
9:38 looks so deserted that it gets a
9:41 cool but you you know about the city you
9:44 know that it was built on one thing yeah
9:47 yes on the shoes one Arch architect yeah
9:49 yeah but I mean yeah but the the the the
9:52 shoes yeah the whole shoe story so that
9:55 is why everyone in the studio every
9:57 guest in the festival bubble is supposed
9:59 to put his feet on the table so that the
10:01 camera can show your shoes and you can
10:04 tell us a story about why these shoes
10:06 where do they come from why do you want
10:09 to go first yeah so I put my foot on the
10:11 table yeah
10:14 please so um I got these shoes when I
10:17 was shopping for my clothes for the
10:20 berala um and then I got these shoes
10:22 because I like them very much and now I
10:25 wear them as my shoes so they were
10:28 bought for a very special yeah event and
10:31 now they became um they grew on you yeah
10:33 okay we're very proud that you're
10:35 wearing your barely n shoes in the L
10:38 Film Festival thank you for that and so
10:43 mine um I went to France uh some time
10:46 ago with some friends of mine and it was
10:49 very nice and I kind of needed something
10:52 to buy uh I don't know why I needed
10:54 that's your souvenir so yeah that's kind
10:56 of my souvenir and I I saw they speak
11:00 French uh they smell French what they
11:02 speak French or they smell French ah um
11:05 I would say they identify as Frenchmen
11:08 but I don't know if they speak French or
11:11 anything else okay but yeah I bought
11:12 them in France and I'm really happy with
11:14 them and you brought them to Czech
11:15 Republic thank you so much for sharing
11:17 your shoe stories with us thank you so
11:19 much for being here with us and thank
11:21 you so much for the wonderful young
11:23 hearts movie that you brought to the
11:25 festival and thank you so much for being
11:28 in our Zin Film Festival bubble we hope
11:29 to welcome you here again and of course
11:31 we hope to welcome you in one of the
11:33 Young Hearts screenings in this year's
11:38 Zin Film Festival thanks everybody aoy bye
