let's consider what it means to have the word have gone as a light
I wanna make four statements about the Word of God
as a light now you remember these four statements and they will help you
as you use the word of God daily statement number one
the word is a light that shines from

now some people don't believe in the gospel because they've been exposed to
religious hucksters who use shameful ways
of preaching the word of God but in verse 3 he says
but even if our gospel is veiled it is bailed to those who are perishing
whose mines the God of this age that's the devil
has blinded who do not believe last the light
I love the gospel to the glory of Christ who is the image of God should shine on

for we do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord
and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake

he started to feel that which was empty

but spiritually through the Holy Spirit who reveals the Son of God

the light shines into our hearts and then God begins to form our lives
and to fill our lives and as a part of the new creation

and the power of His Holy Spirit

is our light. Psalm 119:130 says

it gives understanding to the simple
now that word entrants in the Hebrew means door and opening

all of these pitfalls are around us and alas sometimes God's people
falling into them them but we need the Word of God
Psalm 43 verse 3 " O send out your light
and your truth let them lead me let them bring me to your holy hill
and to your tabernacle." What is it that guides us
on the pilgrim path? It's the Word of God the light shines around us.
"Thy word is a lamp to my feet are light to my path
proverbs chapter 6 verse 23, "for the commandment is a lamp
and the law is light. reproofs of instruction
are the way of life. We don't like re proofs
we don't like rules but God says look my
word is a light now you better follow what you better listen
Paul wrote about this Ephesians
chapter 5 verse 8, "For you were once darkness
but now you are light in the Lord walk as children of light
proving what is acceptable to the Lord
and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness
but rather expose them for it is shameful even the speak of those things which are
done by them in secret
but all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light
for whatever makes manifest is light
What Paul is saying, "don't walk around in this dark world
without a lamp. That lamp is the word of God the Word of God guides
us. We're taught by the Holy Spirit of God. Now it's good to have human teachers
but don't depend on them
human teachers are not infallible and human teachers
can fail. Know you depend on the Holy Spirit of God
John chapter 16 verse 13 "however when he the Spirit of truth has come He will
guide you
into all truth in fact." In first John chapter two in verse 20
the Apostle John makes the astounding statement "but you have an anointing from
the Holy One
[that's the Holy Spirit] and you know all things
doesn't mean we're omniscient the Holy Spirit doesn't teach me my arithmetic or
English if I don't do any studying. He won't teach me the Word of God if I want study
it. Read it meditate on it!
what he's saying is the Word of God is written by the Spirit of God. You have
the Spirit of God living in you
the author of the Bible, now let him teach you.
Too many of God's people are depended upon human teachers
and yet you have the same Holy Spirit that they have.
And if you apply yourself and ask God will teach you the word
and give you light from his book.
In my own ministry two of the finest Bible teachers I ever sat under
a man and a woman never had any formal training in Bible study,
never went to a college or a seminary that I know of.
I'd fact the lady I don't think even went past 8th or 9th grade but they were
two of the finest Bible
teachers I ever heard because they were taught
by the Spirit of God. Now when you use the word of God is a lamp to your feed
it shows you the way a step at a time.
God's Word is not a search light that shines eight miles down the highway.No!
It's a flash light that shines one step at a time. God says," now you take the next
step and i will show you the next step."
Today you're worrying about some decision you have to make. Take the step
God wants you to make your show you the next step!
BEcause we walk in the light of the Word a step at a time.
The light shines from above that's a revelation. The light shines within;
thats regeneration. The light shines around; that's investigation.
And the light shines ahead; that is anticipation.
In 2nd Peter chapter one he calls the Word of God the prophetic word all light
that shines in a dark place verse 19.
We also have the proofetic Word made more sure
"which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark
place until the day dawns". Well that day is going to dawm. Our Lord is going to
return.
And the prophetic word shines
ahead. We can see what is coming
the lord jesus is coming. The Lord Jess Christ is coming for his church
And only in the Bible in the word of prophecy
do we have the assurance about the future.
Wow! Eternal life is a gift it's not a reward for being good!
it's not a payment for obedience. No, no!
God has given us eternal life and this life is in his son. Oh!
If you want eternal life you have to have his son.
You don't have to read the astrological charge. You don't have to consult the
cards.
You have your Bible. That word of prophecy. Oh the Word of God is a light
let's walk in the light of His Word!
