1:21 i guess we we were in the second week
1:25 second week of this 2022
1:27 year and and whatever has transpired has
1:30 transpired and all that is good
1:32 um but i'm more so into the season i'm
1:34 in the middle of the season of spirituality
1:35 spirituality um
1:37 um and
1:38 and
1:41 so you know we start out with the cars
1:43 and i can't wait to to hear what it is
1:45 you got to say and
1:47 i'm gonna give my two cents on it and i gotta
1:48 gotta
1:50 i just got something on my heart that we
1:52 gon i i just wanna throw out at you in a
1:55 minute after we uh after we chop it up a
1:57 little bit i got you

2:03 it reads for everything you have missed
2:05 you have gained something else
2:07 and for everything you gain
2:09 you lose something else
2:11 for everything you have missed you gain
2:13 something else and for everything you
2:15 gain you lose something else
2:16 be in the moment
2:19 be in the moment yeah because it's not
2:23 so much of uh like i i
2:24 you don't
2:27 want to be too high because oh in this
2:30 moment right here i got a chance to
2:31 you know
2:33 i got a chance to meet inky johnson like
2:36 oh the great inky johnson mm-hmm
2:39 but you missed picking your son up
2:41 cool there's no there's there's no in
2:43 and out there's no right or wrong
2:45 you know what i'm saying i got that
2:47 opportunity to meet johnson there's
2:49 something that i wanted to do and this
2:52 that in the third right yeah
2:54 what it really says to me everything has
2:55 a cost
2:57 everything else cost and
3:00 there is no value
3:02 or or no nothing um
3:03 um
3:05 that we're going to put on on it like
3:07 everything just has a cost everything
3:09 has a cost right and so are you willing
3:12 to pay it and in some cases like when
3:15 you place in that position okay i got a
3:17 chance to meet inky johnson i got a
3:20 chance to meet whomever michael jordan i
3:24 got a chance to meet barack obama or
3:26 and it cost me
3:27 the opportunity to
3:28 you know
3:30 take my daughter to
3:33 her first you know get measured for her
3:35 dress for the prom yeah though and i'm
3:37 choosing these things very specifically right
3:38 right
3:42 those very um intimate situations that
3:44 we may miss out on and we may like oh
3:47 man i got it i got to juggle between the two
3:48 two
3:50 no not really what happens is it doesn't
3:53 matter like if you if it were to reverse
3:56 i took my daughter to get measured for
3:58 her dress for the prom
4:01 do i maximize that situation no doubt i
4:03 got a chance to meet barack obama it
4:06 cost me the opportunity to take my son
4:08 to do this that in third it cost me the
4:11 opportunity to uh take my wife on our uh
4:14 you know our weekly
4:17 date night right right so
4:20 what did i gain from meeting barack
4:22 obama what did i gain from this
4:24 experience so that's why we got to be
4:27 cognizant of every experience that that
4:29 we encounter because we we are
4:32 exchanging something of our life for it
4:35 absolutely and you can never really be
4:38 on in front of everything it's just that
4:40 in every opportunity every experience
4:42 that we have maximize it
4:45 because you are you are paying a price
4:47 for it
4:50 you're paying a a an experienced price
4:51 your family is paying the price your
4:54 loved one is paying the price your your
4:56 friends may be paying the price whoever
4:58 whatever but in that moment if you
5:00 maximize it
5:04 then you win it yes sir right so uh and
5:05 everything you that you've missed you
5:07 gain something and everything that you
5:09 gain you lose something right there's
5:11 some wins and losses and everything so
5:14 you act make sure that everything and
5:16 every moment wherever your feet are
5:18 you're being advantageous you're taking
5:20 advantage of that moment in that experience
5:21 experience
5:22 that's the part that you can control you
5:24 can't control what you lose
5:26 you can't control what you gain
5:28 you can control
5:30 how well and how much you maximize the experience
5:32 experience
5:34 yeah man that's um
5:37 made me think about serendipity
5:39 now you know
5:41 when um
5:42 when you found what you were searching
5:44 for was better than what you was looking for
5:45 for
5:47 right because oftentimes we're searching
5:49 for something whether it be searching
5:52 for happiness searching for joy
5:53 searching for peace
5:56 right we're searching for something
5:57 and oftentimes when it says for
5:59 everything you've missed you've gained
6:00 something else and for everything you
6:03 gain you lose something else the whole
6:06 essence of serendipity is when you find
6:08 something that you didn't expect and it
6:10 ended up been benefiting you and your
6:12 advancement as a person right that's why
6:15 i named it serendipity right because
6:17 oftentimes we go in search of things and
6:20 we bump into something else or we find
6:22 something else and then we look up one
6:23 day and we like
6:25 man like
6:27 this cat eye yeah
6:30 oh man this situation all right like i
6:32 thought this was gonna be
6:34 terrible oh man i thought i wasn't gonna
6:36 like i thought this level of adversity
6:38 was gonna break me right but it ended up
6:40 benefiting me there's a quote call we
6:41 gotta hear
6:43 i love it too man it says when you come
6:45 out of the storm you won't be the same
6:47 person that walked in that's what the
6:49 storm is all about right now in the
6:51 midst of the storm a lot of people feel
6:53 like man i lost this
6:56 i lost that right but when you come out
6:58 of the storm the perspective that you gain
6:59 gain
7:01 right the person that you have become
7:03 right the happiness that you've gained
7:05 the joy the peace that you've gained
7:08 right you always gain something in spite
7:10 of what you consider to be a loss and
7:11 and the thing
7:13 that you lost you were supposed to lose
7:15 it you're supposed to lose it was time
7:17 to put it down you're supposed to lose it
7:18 it right
7:19 right
7:21 you're supposed to you were supposed
7:23 because if if you understand it that way
7:25 if you understand that i was supposed to
7:27 lose it then do you now have no
7:30 emotional attachment to losing it yeah mm-hmm
7:31 mm-hmm
7:33 right yep that's what we mean by picking
7:36 up what you're putting down but also i'm
7:38 putting down in this moment what i don't
7:40 need anymore yeah man
7:42 i don't need that anymore
7:44 because i've been through the storm i'm
7:46 not going through that storm anymore i
7:48 got every lesson i was supposed to get
7:49 from that storm so
7:52 everything that i needed going into the storm
7:53 storm
7:55 and because i got all the lessons that i
7:57 was supposed to get yes i don't need
8:00 what i i took into the storm anymore i
8:02 left it right there
8:05 put it down put it down right and this
8:07 the crazy thing about serendipity the
8:08 thing is people
8:10 we do it all the time yeah even in the
8:13 simplest of things right i
8:16 may have i'm looking for my key i need
8:18 this key that i rarely use i'm looking
8:20 for this key i'm looking for this key
8:22 and in the midst of looking for this key
8:25 i find my lost remote control yeah
8:27 right yeah that's the really the thing
8:29 that i really want but most that remote
8:31 control right
8:33 as andre say whatever floats your boat
8:35 or flying your lost remote like do you
8:37 find your lost remote man that feeling
8:40 right now black
8:42 you know so
8:44 that's serendipity yeah
8:46 it's like you finding something that uh
8:48 you had put down to the side or you you
8:51 had just left alone and it ain't it
8:53 ain't worth it no more yeah but then
8:54 when you find it you realize yes this is
8:56 really what my soul and my spirit been
8:58 searching for the whole time
9:04 i wonder oh like can can one create
9:06 serendipity right in terms of like we're
9:09 speaking about you find a lost remote or
9:11 you meet a person or you bump into a
9:14 situation or something works out that
9:16 you didn't think would work out and it
9:18 looked to be like it was about to be a
9:20 tragedy right
9:23 but in order to experience serendipity
9:25 or even catch it
9:27 you got to be in tune
9:29 right because when something shows up
9:31 that you didn't expect it's like most of
9:33 the time opportunity shows up but it's
9:35 just like a
9:36 construction working overalls or
9:38 something like that right but it's an
9:40 opportunity but most people don't catch
9:41 it because when they see something that
9:43 looks like work most people go the
9:45 opposite direction and so when i think
9:48 about serendipity you got to be in tune
9:49 because for most of us when the
9:51 experience shows up that we didn't
9:53 expect we waste the experience that
9:54 wasn't what i was looking for that
9:56 wasn't the person i was looking for
9:58 that wasn't the situation i was looking
10:01 for and so you out when god might be
10:02 sending you the perfect
10:05 situation oh man i gotta read this i
10:07 gotta read this
10:09 get it get it get it
10:10 let it
10:12 let it let it move on away from the mic
10:15 let it go i gotta read this man
10:17 man this thing was so powerful man check

10:25 apologize for greatness

10:49 the side you are used to
10:52 is better than the one that's to come
10:54 don't say that again how do you know the
10:57 side that you're used to is not better
10:58 than the one that's become that's becoming
10:59 becoming
11:01 try not to resist the changes that come

11:06 you and do not worry that your life is
11:08 turning upside down and not going the
11:10 way you want it to how do you not know
11:12 that the side that you are used to
11:15 is better than the one that's to come

11:23 when you open when you're open right

11:26 when you're when you really open to the
11:27 universe because that's essentially what
11:28 i'm hearing
11:30 that that that
11:32 passage is saying when you become open
11:35 to the universe then you're you're
11:37 inviting your own greatness
11:39 you're inviting your own immortality
11:41 you're inviting your own connection with
11:44 god when you're open to it yeah right
11:46 when you're open it's
11:48 always like in
11:50 mj wouldn't have been mj if he was not
11:53 open to the teachings of phil jackson um yes
11:55 yes
11:58 this whole the whole you know mj being
12:01 wilmington north carolina christian this
12:03 that in the third and then he'll come uh
12:05 phil speaking on these buddhist
12:07 principles which in reality because
12:09 we're talking about spirit all of them
12:11 intertwined and go together anyway yes
12:13 sir right it's only in this place in
12:15 this paganism plague anonymous place
12:19 called america that we try to uh
12:22 exact differences on people so that we
12:23 can um
12:25 exact our control where really all of
12:27 them saying the same thing you know what
12:29 i'm saying the god yesterday is the god
12:30 of the day to god tomorrow and however
12:31 you want whatever you want to call him
12:33 is still the same god in the universe
12:35 missing me with that i'm sorry my fault
12:36 i'm sorry i didn't mean to go off on
12:39 that attention but so
12:41 um when you open
12:43 to what the universe has for you then
12:46 what happens is you're able to see those
12:48 moments of serendipity you're able to
12:50 receive those moments of serendipity
12:52 you're able to um be
12:54 be
12:55 able to receive
12:59 what the universe has for you
13:01 so you are the creator of your
13:04 serendipity no doubt the level to which
13:06 you are open the level to which you are
13:08 we are um
13:09 um
13:12 vulnerable and transparent
13:15 with our hearts without sales like
13:17 the the more i'm able to be able to say
13:20 hey man i love you i'm done and said in
13:22 the most public of places
13:24 to show the most uh
13:24 uh profound
13:26 profound
13:29 affection for my brother of course right
13:31 that what i'm really doing is just
13:33 opening the way for the universe to come
13:36 and work through me for me to be able to
13:38 experience who i'm supposed to be to
13:41 manifest my destiny yeah
13:44 i got you right so that's that's um i'm
13:46 with you it's you know
13:49 like when i read that the reason i
13:51 grabbed that phone
13:52 it says how do you know the life that
13:54 you were used to is not better than the
13:56 one that's to come
13:59 and you think about the past two years
14:02 you think about being in the new year
14:04 people's lives being shaken up right and
14:06 i want to tell a story i heard warren
14:08 buffett share a story
14:10 it was a lady that was an immigrant she
14:13 came to this country with her daughter
14:14 right she couldn't speak a liquor english
14:15 english
14:17 right she comes over to this country her
14:20 daughter gets put in school her daughter
14:22 starts learning english right now when
14:24 they moved to this country
14:26 mom wasn't feeling it right she wasn't
14:29 open to it because she was leaving
14:31 the life that she was used to
14:33 right and now i got to go to a space
14:35 that i'm not used to right it says how
14:36 do you know the life that you were used
14:38 to is not better than the one that's to
14:41 come immigrant moves to this country
14:43 wasn't feeling it because she left what
14:45 she was used to comes to this country
14:47 don't know a liquor english daughter in
14:49 school learning english comes home every
14:51 day and teaches it to the mom through
14:53 the daughter teaching the mom english
14:55 the mom starts a business small
14:56 furniture business with
15:00 2500 right after she starts the business
15:01 with the initial investment of twenty
15:03 five hundred dollars she never had to
15:06 put another dollar into the business
15:08 from the outside forces of people
15:10 investors things of that nature because
15:12 she turned so much profit
15:14 ended up selling the business
15:17 to warren buffett for north of 60
15:18 million dollars
15:20 because she left
15:22 what she was used to now somebody would
15:24 have came to and said hey man how you
15:26 know what you're used to is not better
15:28 than what's to come
15:30 you're going to a place you can't even
15:32 speak english and everybody speaks
15:34 english in the first language
15:35 she probably would have been like yeah
15:36 you're right i don't want to leave what
15:39 i'm used to but she did it and the
15:41 serendipity in the moment was she placed
15:43 her kid in school kids started learning
15:45 english kid was able to come home teach
15:47 her mom english mom took the english
15:49 start of the business and now her life
15:52 is better than it ever would have been
15:55 right and so when i hear cat say man i'm
15:57 leaving what i'm used to
15:59 right bro how you know what you used to
16:02 it's better than what's to come
16:05 right what's the blessing of being open
16:07 to change to uncertainty to new
16:10 blessings new creativity real right
16:13 but we're so we're so scared and we're
16:15 holding on to what we're used to
16:16 that bro you're not even open it's like
16:18 when a cat get money and close their
16:20 hand you close your hand
16:22 right you caught the blessing mm-hmm but
16:24 you can't receive any more because
16:26 you're not open bro yeah you got to open
16:28 yourself up in order to receive but you
16:32 know i'm off my my thera-bread horse
16:34 i had i had the thing
16:37 i feel you i feel you man and it's so to
16:40 me when i i'm listening to the story
16:43 there's it goes everything for me man
16:46 goes back to principles right it goes
16:48 back to the principle of
16:49 mom having the humility to learn from
16:52 the child yes sir
16:54 because at the end of the day at the end
16:55 of the day
16:58 who has the humility to learn from the
17:02 from their children yeah and because she
17:03 doesn't know
17:04 meaning on the backside or when you're
17:06 hearing the story
17:08 in your mind you're like oh it's 60
17:10 million dollars on the backside of this
17:12 yeah but in real time
17:14 when she's just following
17:16 the teachings of her daughter she
17:17 doesn't know what's on the back side of
17:19 there oh
17:21 so that has to be it's rooted in the
17:23 principles it's rooted in the principle
17:25 of humility
17:27 right and it may not have yielded 60
17:29 million dollars or who knows what it may
17:31 have yielded yeah it may not have
17:34 yielded anything except for the
17:37 understanding and the greatness or or
17:40 the openness and the self-growth of the
17:42 mom having
17:44 submitted herself to the teachings of
17:47 her daughter yes sir
17:48 yes sir what
17:50 yes sir
17:52 it just so happened that it yielded you
17:54 60 million right
17:56 just so happy who cares
17:58 about it yielding you to 60 million
18:00 because guess what you will never know
18:03 for sure that what is going to yield you
18:06 on the front end
18:09 you never know what your submission what
18:12 your um you adhering to the principles
18:15 that you live by is going to um
18:16 give you
18:19 and and manifest in you on the front end
18:22 yeah so you have to do it just off
18:24 principle alone no doubt that's the
18:26 whole point i'm going to walk in
18:28 principle i'm going to walk in faith i
18:30 don't know what the end gonna be i'm
18:32 just gonna run on to see yeah i believe
18:34 i run on yeah to see what the end gonna be
18:35 be
18:37 cause i know
18:40 something at the end is waiting for me
18:41 that's what all the old folks were
18:43 telling you now i don't know what it is
18:46 i just know that it is yes sir
18:48 something at the end is waiting for me
18:50 that is the faith that is the substance
18:52 of things oh for the evidence of things
18:55 not seen yes sir right i know that
18:56 there's something at the end waiting for
18:58 me i just i don't know what it is and
19:00 guess what it doesn't matter right
19:02 that's inconsequential it is
19:04 inconsequential because whatever it is
19:06 it is there to make me better yeah it is
19:08 there for me to be closer to god it is
19:10 there for me to be closer to the
19:12 manifest destiny that i'm sitting here
19:14 to become absolutely i'm gonna be quiet
19:17 yeah let me quiet a minute so check oh
19:20 doctor my boy um john gordon he does
19:22 this thing every year
19:23 called one word
19:24 and um
19:27 you know you pick a word
19:28 that you try to use to the best of your
19:31 ability to carry you throughout the year
19:34 with situations circumstances people
19:36 and things of that nature
19:39 and um last year of course my word was
19:42 gratitude gratitude
19:44 oh my god i picked it up yeah i picked
19:47 it up yeah
19:49 this year
19:50 my word is gonna
19:53 be serendipity
19:56 right like i'm gonna go throughout life
19:57 and that's my word that's what i'm
19:59 looking for in essence
20:02 like every single day the essence of
20:05 looking for blessings yeah in the most
20:07 simplest moments
20:09 not getting up every single day looking for
20:10 for
20:12 something big some grand
20:14 but just appreciating the small simple
20:16 things of life right like one would say
20:18 celebrating the small wins
20:20 right celebrating my development as a
20:22 father in terms of communicating with my
20:25 children a certain way right picking up
20:27 what my wife put down in terms of
20:29 becoming a better listener right in
20:31 terms of being a better orator
20:33 communicator right picking up the
20:36 serendipity in moments every single day
20:38 in my life things that didn't go a
20:40 certain way but ended up benefiting me
20:43 and working out now the principle is
20:46 i got to put myself in such a space of
20:50 growth and openness to be able to
20:53 catch it i'm talking about the purity
20:56 of growth and openness right because my
20:57 wife might say something to me in terms
20:59 of that growth and development from
21:02 serendipity standpoint that i might not
21:05 be feeling at the time right i might not
21:07 be a good listener on that day yeah
21:09 right in terms of with my children
21:10 trying to better communicate and learn
21:12 and win the pause when they address
21:14 situations when not to in terms of when
21:16 i'm traveling things might not go the
21:18 way i want it to what's the serendipity
21:20 in a moment in essence taking
21:24 serendipity the word but making it a blessing
21:25 blessing
21:27 right what's the serendipity in the
21:28 moment what's the blessing in the moment
21:30 the blessing what's the lesson in the
21:32 moment but what's the serendipity in the
21:34 moment what's the blessing in the moment
21:36 what's the lesson in the moment and so
21:37 i'm gonna carry that word with me man
21:40 throughout 2022
21:42 and i'm gonna try to insert it into
21:45 every aspect and phase in my life um
21:46 um
21:48 it's crazy that you say it man
21:51 what's crazy is like how
21:52 you know
21:54 it may seem like
21:56 i don't know how it is to do
21:59 the public who you know view these
22:02 um podcasts or whatever like we we don't
22:03 talk every day
22:06 you know what i'm saying
22:08 uh like just last night as i was saying earlier
22:09 earlier
22:12 you text it was like 9 15. we
22:14 got a session in the morning what's up
22:16 i'm like all right cool and
22:17 and
22:20 um but i'm saying that to say i was just
22:22 thinking like what's mine
22:23 what's my thing that i'm taking into the
22:25 new year like we on the same way link in
22:27 terms of even thinking about what is
22:29 something you're taking into the new
22:31 year taking into this new season right
22:32 and for me
22:35 my thing is spirituality um
22:36 um
22:38 i think i've ran from spirituality for a minute
22:39 minute
22:41 minute being like it's one of the
22:42 principles that i learned one of the five
22:43 five
22:45 basic fundamental principles and
22:46 and
22:48 because i was
22:50 i was introduced to spirituality early
22:53 on on a on an elementary level
22:56 i've kind of rolled out with that for
22:57 for
22:59 you know for the past 30 years if you
23:01 will probably since i'm about 15. um
23:02 um
23:06 and so now i'm i'm cognizant and really
23:09 just focusing on my my
23:10 my
23:12 ability to walk with here and know the
23:14 creator yeah
23:17 like on the on a for real basis
23:20 and so then okay what
23:21 get outside the esoteric and what are
23:24 some things that you're going to do
23:25 like for me
23:28 um i i was not a
23:30 a public parade person
23:32 i would you know me and god we talk all
23:34 the time we get down with that
23:36 cold-blooded cat all the time
23:38 but in terms of
23:40 um allowing other people's just other
23:43 people to see my relationship with god
23:45 and how that is i think is going to be
23:48 influential and beneficial for not only
23:50 myself but for the community of our
23:53 circle and for for other people
23:54 that's that's where i'm at that's that's
23:56 the time i'm on right now yeah i'm on
23:59 this spiritual time right now yeah
24:01 because like
24:03 i think i think it's always important to
24:05 have something to aim for
24:07 but also having a compass in something
24:09 that can realign you yeah right and for
24:12 me like when i think about one word
24:15 i'm the type of person i'm wired to wear
24:18 i love having things in place not
24:20 physically just in place but things in
24:22 place mentally that every single day i
24:25 get up i got to be cognizant of it
24:27 because growth doesn't just happen no
24:29 you know what i'm saying like growth
24:31 does not just happen you don't wake up
24:32 and you just grow
24:34 you got to be intentional about that you
24:35 don't wake up and you just become great
24:37 you don't wake up you just start doing
24:39 things you got to be intentional about
24:41 it right like i tell cats every single
24:43 day like when i wake up and i read these
24:46 quote cards like for me yeah it's cool i
24:49 enjoy it right i read it gets my mind
24:52 going it creates dialogue between me my
24:53 wife my children
24:56 my partners but i do that every single
24:58 day for me that's putting on my armor
25:00 yeah right before i walk out the door
25:02 i'm being intentional i ain't gonna get
25:04 up and just let life hit me and i walk
25:06 out of the door and then now i'm on the
25:08 emotional roller coaster i'm all over
25:10 the place and now i can't i can't catch
25:12 grips on my dreams my goals my
25:14 aspirations now i'm mad at people i
25:15 shouldn't be mad at because some of them
25:17 work out no but i'm gonna wake up i'm
25:18 gonna put on my armor i'm gonna be
25:20 intentional about what i want to
25:22 accomplish direction i want to go and
25:24 the person i'm trying to become
25:26 to the best of my ability now does that
25:29 mean success every single day absolutely
25:31 not i'm a fail probably more than i have
25:34 success right but i know that already
25:35 that's like if i go in the gym to make a
25:38 thousand shots right i ain't stepping in
25:40 the gym saying oh man i hope i don't
25:42 miss none today no i know i'm gonna miss
25:45 some right and there's power in knowing
25:47 that and so now my process looks
25:49 different my process of development
25:52 lebron said it i was watching the clip
25:53 last night lebron said when he was in
25:56 year 16 and magic johnson said he
25:58 resigned or he out lebron was like man
26:00 i'm in year 16 i'm in the locker room
26:03 and he said when magic sold me on coming
26:05 here he talked about the rebuilding
26:07 process said man i'm in year i was in
26:09 year 16.

26:36 terrible we were how bad we were i'm in
26:40 process mode i knew that already and so
26:42 it didn't break me as a leader it didn't
26:44 discourage me as a leader it didn't make
26:45 me go back and try to reassess and
26:48 rearrange as a leader my armor was on already
26:49 already
26:51 i was already prepared bro now if i
26:54 wasn't prepared and my armor wasn't on i
26:56 get on i watch first take and they say
26:58 something crazy i'm going to the all hey
27:00 man i think we need to do this
27:03 no bro i'm staying the course
27:04 because i know
27:06 what i'm working for i think

27:50 we you know we're in a city and whatever
27:53 but we're being measured by test scores and
27:54 and
27:56 uh especially in the city of atlanta you
27:59 got the north side and they you know
28:00 there's test scores with this that in
28:02 the third all the way really high yeah
28:04 but then you had places like
28:07 kirkwood places like mechanicsville
28:10 places like uh cleveland avenue where
28:12 the test scores and in those schools
28:13 were not as great
28:15 and so
28:18 um i came in and really didn't care
28:20 about it about the test scores right i
28:23 cared about about y'all right so
28:24 what people were saying like man y'all
28:26 not gonna do this that in the third
28:28 y'all test scores are not gonna be you
28:30 know those kids can't learn whatever
28:33 and um stay in the course as you were
28:35 saying about what what lebron was saying
28:36 like this is process
28:38 like the way i was taught by dr black
28:40 the way i was taught is about process
28:42 it's about the brilliance and the beauty
28:44 of these black kids yeah it's not about
28:46 what they've done in the past it's not
28:48 about what you think they know and don't
28:50 know it's about their spirit
28:52 it's about their soul it's about their
28:54 mind it's about their creativity and
28:56 that's what we were tapping into
28:58 that's why yo yo what was your your
29:01 project your math project was give me
29:04 your book of proverbs yeah your math
29:05 project was you giving me your book of
29:07 proverbs no doubt because we tapping

29:35 i'm just loving black kids bro that's
29:38 all i can tell them

30:05 be babysitter and and mommy and dad at
30:07 home to your little brothers and sisters
30:08 and you still came in here you may not
30:10 did the homework but you paid attention
30:12 to class and you fought for it mm-hmm

30:26 believe right whatever greatness is

30:42 but nobody talks about

30:47 oh you know how many cats i had on the
30:50 road with me man early in my career
30:53 that i told hey man

30:56 we're gonna get there
30:57 all right just stay the course we're
30:59 gonna get there and we riding at the
31:02 time driving all around the southeast
31:04 i'm talking about driving i never forget
31:06 i'm coming back from tennessee through
31:09 the snow and i'm with one of my dudes
31:12 beautiful brother brilliant brother and
31:15 and i feel no malice toward any of them
31:16 right it was just young and couldn't see
31:18 it at the time right but i'll never
31:21 forget it snowing and my man like oh man
31:23 we gonna have to go to a hotel and chill
31:25 i'm like nah bro i got a wife and two
31:27 kids at home we got to get there i get
31:29 behind the wheel i got us right when we
31:31 pulled up in the driveway he was like oh
31:33 we really made it i'm like yeah well no
31:36 option yeah we was gonna make it right
31:38 like that wasn't the option that's what
31:39 i was telling them about
31:41 success and getting us to where we was
31:42 gonna get to
31:44 i was saying without saying
31:46 no bro we going to get there the only
31:48 way we won't get there is if god stops
31:50 in the middle of the world and say hey

31:53 now i'm going to follow god and be like
31:54 all right god cool i'm going to go that
31:56 way but in terms of the work
31:59 man i ain't never been scared of work

32:04 working for what you want and so i'm
32:06 telling them this entrepreneurship hey

32:18 when i first released my book
32:20 hannah kane
32:24 who worked with t.i and grand hustle
32:25 i get connected with her
32:27 beautiful sister man
32:29 she was helping me out right
32:32 and she had a lot of stuff to do right
32:33 she ain't really had no business helping
32:36 me at the time i ain't really got no
32:38 real campaign but she doing it out the
32:40 kindness of a heart she met with me she
32:42 liked what i was trying to do she liked
32:44 my campaign she believed in me she
32:47 telling me things that she did early on
32:48 with tip and some of the people that
32:51 helped them have success and so when i
32:53 come out with my book we talk and we set
32:56 up conference calls right every week
32:58 she'll set up a conference this before i
33:00 knew how to do any of that she would set
33:02 it up for me we would get 10 15 people
33:05 on the phone and she telling me what we
33:07 got to do ink how many units you moved
33:09 all right ain't no nothing about units
33:10 you know what i'm saying she's speaking
33:12 in those terms i'm like man i ain't
33:15 moved no units like i just got my book
33:17 cool no problem she's nice as all get
33:20 out so she says one night on the phone
33:22 hey this is what we gonna do
33:24 for ink book you know what i'm saying to
33:26 help them get a couple of them off
33:28 she said in the morning
33:30 i want everybody
33:32 to turn their facebook
33:33 facebook
33:36 uh picture to ink's book
33:38 right everybody just change it to it for
33:41 like a day write a caption right this
33:44 was supposed to be my team at the time right
33:45 right
33:47 and so everybody on the phone yeah yeah

33:52 next morning roll around
33:54 one person um
33:57 change their profile to my book
34:00 know that one person was
34:01 my wife
34:03 this i ain't tripped

35:32 is the language and the faculty of being
35:35 able to express

37:05 was and is the understanding that i may
37:08 be pretty decent at this mentoring
37:10 right that's the function now the
37:12 transcendence of the function is the
37:14 relationship that's forged right so that
37:17 is now is non-transactional
37:21 but everybody everything every situation
37:23 is a function what function
37:25 do you serve do you hold in somebody
37:28 else's life then the goal because the
37:30 universe puts us together for a function
37:32 right then it's up to us to transcend
37:36 that into a relationship of community yeah
37:37 yeah
37:40 right so the serendipity is in the
37:42 function that you know whomever those
37:44 cats on the conference call the function was
37:46 was
37:49 to serve and show you exactly what god
37:51 got for you yeah through their activity
37:53 or inactivity
37:55 cool no pressure you served the function
37:58 yeah you were the lesson or you the
38:00 blessing that's the function yeah
38:03 now to take that to another level is the
38:06 work in which we put in to forge a
38:10 relationship that is divinity that is godly
38:11 godly
38:14 that is forged by the spirit that is
38:16 forged by the ancestors that we are the
38:19 answers and the prayers to to what they
38:20 were asking god for this connection
38:22 right here this serendipity us being
38:25 able to talk and and reach whomever yeah
38:27 right and because with that said man i i
38:28 don't want to uh
38:31 just a a quick shift bro

38:35 it's a lot of people whole lot of people

43:57 how can we press our maturity
44:00 what is it what are some things that
44:01 will press
44:04 us to be more mature people
44:07 because um
44:09 i think our
44:12 our lacking our disappointment our depression
44:13 depression
44:15 our um
44:17 inability to be in the moment our
44:20 inability to uh really
44:24 grasp the principle of gratitude yeah is
44:27 really um
44:30 seated in our immaturity our inability
44:33 to press for maturity yeah right and
44:36 there are three keys to maturity
44:38 let's talk about one
44:40 one
44:43 obedience yeah a mature person is obedient
44:45 obedient
44:48 right obedience is um
44:51 simply compliance to an order
44:53 or a request
44:56 with gladness this prepositional phrase
45:00 is the key with gladness with gladness
45:02 compliance to an order
45:05 with gladness with obedience
45:07 right that's the um
45:08 um
45:12 that's the first level of maturity
45:19 right
45:21 the um
45:24 the fact of accepting or yielding to a force
45:25 force
45:28 the fact of accepting and yielding to a
45:30 force submission but again
45:33 the prepositional phrase with excitement
45:35 and enthusiasm
45:37 excitement and enthusiasm because i can
45:39 make you submit and you mad about it you
45:42 still don't miss the lesson yep
45:44 right but when you submit and say yes i
45:47 submit unto you god i submit unto you
45:49 universe i submit unto you mother i
45:51 submit unto you father i submit unto
45:52 this process
45:56 gladly wholly and enthusiastically then
45:58 that end is where you get the lesson yeah
46:00 yeah right
46:01 right
46:04 because you can be compliant
46:07 and not submit your compliance right
46:08 will not get you the fullness of the
46:10 lesson yeah most people walk in
46:12 compliance i'm gonna do this because i'm
46:14 gonna get a check on the back end yup
46:16 i'm gonna do this i'm not gonna i'm
46:18 gonna do what's quote unquote right
46:19 because i don't want to get in trouble
46:21 right not because it's just right to do
46:23 not because i'm glad about doing it not
46:24 because of the lesson that i'm going to
46:27 receive in behind it complying not
46:28 because of the blessing that's going to
46:30 come from the lesson
46:32 right submission
46:34 the fact of accepting or yielding to a
46:37 force but you yield into that force with
46:39 gladness with excitement and with
46:43 enthusiasm not compliant not complaining
46:47 and then third the third key to maturity
46:49 aqua yes exactly yes
46:51 we must become
46:54 a people who acquiesce yeah if you're
46:56 walking in maturity
46:59 because acquiesce is simply
47:04 to reluctantly accept a thing
47:08 without protest without protest
47:11 reluctantly because that means you have
47:13 the faculty of thought you have the
47:16 faculty of experiences right you have
47:18 your own everything your perception and
47:20 your perspective that you're bringing to
47:21 the table
47:23 right so you mean if somebody is telling
47:25 you something that is almost counter or
47:26 asking you to do something that is
47:29 counter to your experiences yeah so that
47:32 what makes it reluctant yeah right
47:34 but you do it without protest
47:37 but you do it anyway
47:39 there boy
47:41 that's why that's the third level of maturity
47:43 maturity
47:45 that's grown for business yeah going for
47:47 business yeah
47:48 you got to be in a certain space and
47:51 place do that so that's why i teleport
47:52 anybody especially young folks i'm
47:54 telling you i'm from listen if you do
47:56 these three things right here how it's
47:57 going to manifest i don't know where
47:59 it's going to manifest i don't know how
48:00 god is going to walk in your life i
48:02 don't know i'm not the god
48:05 i'm not omnipotent none of that stuff
48:07 no i don't know
48:09 but i know to run on to see what the end
48:11 gonna be this is what running on seeing
48:14 what the end gonna be looks like obedience
48:16 obedience
48:18 obedient go to his word obedience is
48:22 better than sacrifice yes be obedient
48:25 submission submission
48:27 submit excitedly gladly
48:30 yeah right and then thirdly and one and
48:33 the most powerful one of the three is acquiesce
48:34 acquiesce yes
48:36 yes
48:38 doing it even though you are reluctant
48:40 even though you have experiences that
48:42 may be counter to what you're being
48:45 asked to do in this moment yes sir
48:48 and you do it without protest
48:50 without protest
48:52 and you see how we go from okay yeah i'm
48:54 gonna do it
48:57 um with gladness yeah right that's your obedience
48:58 obedience
49:01 then i'm gonna do it with excitement
49:04 yeah that's your submission yeah
49:05 people get caught up between the
49:08 submission and acquiesce yeah because if
49:10 i'm not excited about it then they
49:13 what you say is i'm not gonna do it yeah
49:15 because i can't see it yeah
49:17 because even when you submit you got to
49:20 see it at some point in that process
49:22 that's why you become excited about it
49:24 yeah the power of aqua yes is
49:25 is
49:28 you don't see it nowhere along the way
49:30 you are protesting i mean you are
49:33 questioning it all along the way yet you
49:35 do it and you still don't protest about
49:38 it and it counters
49:40 your typical train of thought yes
49:43 yeah yes it is it is countering your experiences

49:48 and in doing so you still do it and you
49:51 do it without saying the word no protest
49:53 about protest
49:56 on the backside of that is maturity yeah right

49:59 because this is what maturity loves righteousness

50:08 so we're trying to develop in this new
50:10 season in this next season we're trying
50:14 to um in in the restoration season
50:16 we're trying to build and increase our maturity
50:17 maturity

50:22 maturity my maturity in my spirituality
50:25 yes become a more more mature spiritual
50:27 person sure
50:29 pride is concerned with
50:31 who's right maturity is concerned with
50:32 what's right
50:34 yes yeah
50:35 i got you i'm picking up what you're
50:37 putting down yes
50:38 wrap it i'm gonna wrap it with this

50:43 it says patience child patience
50:45 remember life is a journey
50:47 if you got everything you wanted all at
