3:44 had some uh profiles in the privacy and
3:46 security settings and you were not able
3:49 to remove those from your Mac itself yes

3:55 like 14 days no they told me to swap it
3:59 out with one from them so basically what
4:01 happen happened is I bought a Mac from
4:04 Amazon um and I've been having problems
4:07 with my Apple products and my MacBook
4:11 products for a while and I I had just P
4:12 eventually I had swapped one out with
4:16 Amazon and I just gotten it um I think I
4:18 had it maybe 12 hours um and I had been
4:21 in a like a different location I had used
4:22 used
4:26 a it a long story short it had gotten um
4:28 taken over and we tried to troubleshoot
4:31 it and they couldn't quite figure it out
4:33 um so what they told me to do was to
4:35 because it was still under the return
4:38 policy it was brand new um it was an M3
4:41 24 gig MacBook Air so I sent it back to
4:44 um Amazon and I got my money back and
4:46 then um I went and purchased one uh from
4:49 the Apple Store um per their
4:51 instructions they said that something
4:55 with I guess Amazon had a problem with
4:58 um uh it was like provisioned for a
5:00 company or something
5:03 beforehand um I guess cuz it was like
5:06 mobile device management or something so
5:10 anyways uh I went and I purchased it and
5:12 um I opened it for my birthday a couple
5:17 days ago on the 22nd and um I've been uh
5:20 monitoring it actually pretty heavily um
5:22 I because i' I like I said I've been
5:24 having a lot of problems um recently
5:27 with my Mac MacBook Pro or not just
5:31 MacBooks but my my iPad or my wife's
5:34 iPad I should say not mine um and our
5:36 phones and like things have just been
5:38 kind of weird and um I I keep finding
5:40 this stuff but it's really hard for me
5:41 to kind of prove it because it just
5:44 disappears well I think I've kind of
5:47 figured out what's going on um and right
5:49 now I can't even connect to the internet
5:53 on this new Macbook and it it can
5:54 connect to the Wi-Fi but it won't
5:58 connect to the internet um and I tested
5:59 it with my phone and it worked works
6:03 with my phone it's my uh ISP from my
6:05 house um but
6:08 I've I've been recording it pretty much
6:12 since I um opened it and I've found
6:15 profiles already on there um and just to
6:20 give you some um context I haven't used
6:23 my Apple ID um I created a brand new
6:26 Apple ID um so it was brand new account
6:28 I didn't sync anything or anything like
6:30 that like it was all um completely new I
6:32 even used like a new email address and
6:35 everything um and I'm I'm still having
6:39 this problem and I'm not really sure
6:42 what to do but I have a lot of money in
6:45 Apple products um and I can't use
6:48 them I see I'm so sorry about that J but
6:50 we can go ahead and definitely help you
6:52 with this year so right now just to
6:54 confirm this MacBook that you're using
6:56 right now this one you got from the
6:58 Apple Store itself right yes ma'am I
7:01 purchased it directly from the store Tim
7:05 got it and this is the problem with
7:08 conne connection your Wii right yes it's
7:12 also um I also found uh profiles on here
7:14 and stuff that I couldn't I wasn't
7:17 allowed to see um and I also found
7:19 evidence that I'm in a
7:21 sandbox where like I'm kind of like
7:23 locked in I think so that I can't really
7:27 see what's going on um there's like
7:29 a I have it written down somewh
7:31 somewhere but there was there was a
7:33 instance where it would say that no
7:35 there's no MDM profile but then when I
7:38 go to delete it it's locked and then I
7:40 can't look into like certain directories
7:42 it's access restricted even though I'm
7:43 root and I should be able to because I'm
7:46 the administrator on the device I I mean
7:49 I bought it I don't have a I'm not even
7:51 employed right now but even my former
7:53 employer they didn't use Macbook so it's
7:55 not like this is something that's left
7:59 over or something like that it's um it's
8:01 like there're they're
8:04 being either compromised upstream or
8:07 they there something weird is happening
8:08 I don't
8:11 know got it I go ahead and definitely
8:13 check everything with you so these
8:15 profiles profiles that you're uh you
8:17 know that you're talking about where
8:19 exactly do you the privacy and security
8:22 setting no no no no so remember how I
8:23 said it's in a

8:42 report um that I was using
8:47 to kind of write everything down um
8:48 because like I said this time I've been

10:48 basically what is happening is that I
10:50 think that what they're doing is they're
10:52 somehow getting into the system and
10:53 they're installing a provisioning
10:55 profile they're going to take that
10:57 profile which is basically like a
10:59 self-sign certificate for Developers um
11:03 in order to run um applications that
11:05 they're building on their Mac without
11:07 you know just be able to do it because
11:09 Apple you know they um they're very
11:11 secure conscious like security conscious
11:14 apple is so they'll take the provision
11:16 and profile they'll use that to install
11:18 MDM software they'll take that MDM
11:20 software and they'll use that to sandbox
11:22 the user and then after they sandbox the
11:25 user then they pretty much run the show
11:27 um they control the traffic they control
11:30 all that stuff so um
11:33 looks like they definitely have a look
11:35 at all of that I can also do like do you
11:37 have your iPhone with yourself right now
11:40 I do I do what I'll do is that I'll do a
11:42 screenshot on your iPhone itself and
11:43 then through the camera of your phone
11:45 you can actually show me everything okay
11:47 first we will try to get go ahead and
11:49 like you know connect your Mac to the
11:52 Wi-Fi itself and see like why exactly
11:54 it's not giving us internet services we
11:56 can also check if it is happening with a
11:58 different networks maybe we can find it
11:59 connected with
12:02 personal that's something that we check
12:04 sometimes we also have to like turn off
12:07 the Wii R and then turn it back on that
12:09 also build up the connection again so we
12:11 will check that and then after that we
12:13 can go ahead and look at the profiles
12:15 that you mentioned about okay

12:27 not control anything on your phone screen

15:35 then it was obviously virtualized you

15:58 was able to pull the video off so um

16:29 a problem um or I wouldn't have the same
