Right, this is the 2026 Sea Otter
Classic, the big North American trade
show. It's very exciting time of year,
springtime, lots of bikes and new tech
to look at, and I've heard about some
very exciting ones as well. So, let's
>> Right, we've headed straight over to the
tent, which is next to Brembo.
Interesting uh components on this bike,
but this is a very cool, brand new bike.
This is the Forbidden Dreadnaugh E. So
this time last year they launched their
Avenox powered bike. Their first one,
the Cororey, but this is all new big
travel, virtually a dangle bike. It's
170 mil of rear travel with their
trifecta high pivot rear suspension, 180
mil front end, 63° head angle, uh super
slack, MX wheel set on this, so mixed
wheels. Uh it's got Olan suspension on
it. Big uh 38 fork up front. And also
these brakes are quite interesting. So
Brembo, it's a brake you may have heard
of from Motorsport, but also they got
involved with Dal Racing last year with
the Specialized Gravity team running
these brakes and they're pretty bold to
look at, but um they've got triple
adjustment on the levers. So reach ratio
and uh free stroke. So super load of
adjustment on there. And with the Oins
on this bike, it's a pretty special
build on what looks like a very cool
bike. There are four different build
kits available this bike with either six
or 800 WH batteries available. You got
the M2 and M2S motor options. Uh this
obviously pretty special build with the
Brembo and the Oins. And you got
Industry 9 carbon enduro wheels. Like I
said, mixed wheel size and those hydra 2
hubs. There's another brand new bike
under the tent as well. And this is the
propane econo aluminium available in two
options. This is the enduro bike. It's
almost tipping over. And uh check out
the frame. It's a lovely color. It's
aluminium. I think it's called funky
oyster. It's sort of a slightly pinky
silver, but it looks amazing. Long
travel bike. Again, 160 mil rear travel.
Uh 170 fork. Uh mixed wheel size. And
again, Avanox available with different
those 600 800 W hour batteries and again
the M2 and M2S motors. You've got
adjustability at the back as well for
chain stay length. And you can also make
this a full 29iner bike if you want.
Prices start at $5,599.
You check out these uh Moto GP brakes
and Formula 1 brake systems. Absolutely
amazing. Brembo calipers and carbon
composite brake rotors. Apparently, they
won't be coming to the mountain bikes
soon, unfortunately, because you can't
get them up to temperature, but pretty
amazing looking piece of kit and
obviously super light. Amlow have got a
really big setup this year at Sea Auto,
of course, we've been talking about them
an awful lot, as has everyone else
because of their two brand new bikes and
the new motors as well. So, you've got
the PR and the PX. PX there, PR here
with removable batteries. M2S, the
high-end top power. Uh, and then the M2
on that cheaper build that less than 4,000
4,000
PR, which I've been riding. But also, I
think what's really nice whilst we're
here is if we can get in there, they
have a sort of transparent frame, which
I think is a really nice way of having a
look at the system. Obviously, this is a
replica, plastic replica of a PX frame
set. You can see the system that we
talked an awful lot about in the video
we did. M2S motor. You can see how slim
that battery is and how far up actually
the down tube it goes. But as well as
that, you've got that uh 40 adjustments
of geometry configurations. So you've
got the chain stay flip chip there. You
can see you can also see that speed
sensor molded in right by that brake
caliper. Then you've got the flip chip
up here on that shock uh linkage. And
you can't see it, but the headset cups
as well up there. So, so many different
combos you can run with this, but it's
definitely nice to have a look inside
the frame and see how it all fits
together. Sea otter is my favorite trade
show because of where it is in
California. It's very nice, but also
it's outside and you can ride your bike
here and Amlo actually have a fleet of
test bikes. So, if you are here over the
next couple of days, come on over, grab
a bike, go and ride some of the amazing
trails out here. Right, we're in the Met
booth. They got helmets for all sorts of
riding. Obviously got World Tour Road
helmets over there. And then they've got
a large range of mountain bike helmets.
It's the Revo that you've probably seen
me wear in other riding videos. It's a
new color called Liliaak, I believe.
Looks like a lilac color to me. Very
nice looking. Uh got this is the top end
helmet. So you've got the MIPS
rotational liner inside there. And a
what I absolutely love is this Fidlock
uh magnetic chin strap, which is really
easy to slide on and off. Well, it clips
back itself basically. So very handy.
And moving over to this side. So
Bluegrass is part of the MET family.
It's their gravity orientated kit.
You've got their obviously their
breathable Vanguard fullface helmet. The
Jetro sort of 3/4. That style of helmet
is becoming very popular and the legit
proper fullface Daniel helmet in that
new colorway. I believe it's called
burnt burnt something. I forget. But
this is what I really want to look at.
This is a venture vest. So this is brand
new. It's actually not out yet. Uh it's
coming out the 29th of this month. Uh so
this is a back protector and chest
protector. So level one chest protector
and level two uh back protector, but
this is very handy. It's much more than
that. You've got lots of chest pockets.
Actually, there's pockets all over it.
So this is designed to replace your, you
know, your riding pack and have
protection as well. You've got space
inside there to hang up to a 1 and a
half liter bladder. Uh, you've got a
sort of pocket in the back to roll up
your coat and stick it in. You got
another zip pocket there. And I feel
like this is a very useful over the
jersey protection and ride impact. I
can't actually wait to get one myself.
It's quite a big show for Specialized
this year as well as the new bikes
they've got. Well, they're showing off a
bit of history as well with that lever
that came out in 2015. 275 wheels, front
and rear, 140 mil of travel. I guess
makes it a little bit dated now, but it
was a game changer bike 11 years ago
now. But also, they're launching an
ambush 3, brand new helmet with a
fidlock magnetic buckle and MIPS and a
radial tire as well. They've got a nice
way of showing what radial actually
means. You can see the threads inside
the car of the tire. When they're folded
over normally at 45 to 50°, they look a
lot like that, little squares. But with
radial, it's at a different angle. And
that means that the actual uh
construction of the tire feels different
and it gives you more grip and more
durability for the same tire pressure.
They have these grid gravity radial
tires available. Obviously Schwala came
first with these, but more brands are
bringing them. And I know we're not here
to look at Daniel bikes, but I've got to
take a look cuz they've got their what
looks like a production demo over there
and the prototype team bikes as well.
Let's take a look at those. to
specialize. Obviously, they have the
Levo Gen 4 bike that we saw this time
last year and they've gone down to the
Levo R. So, this is a shorter travel
bike. I think they say get ready for
rally. That's what the R stands for for
this bike. So, different frame is a full
29iner, shorter travel. So, it's 130
rear travel, 140 fork with that 3.1
motor. the same as the normal Levo, but
brand new, I think they launched it
today, is the Levo Evo. So, longer
travel on that. So, there's a different
shock extender on the rear. Uh, and that
is a 170 mil rear travel bike. They put
a 180 fork on there. So, you've now got
all sorts of options with Levos,
depending on the style of riding you
like to do. Mixed wheel size as
standard. Again, suits the longer travel
bike in my humble opinion. And great
looking bike. actually take a quick look
outside cuz the Levo R has got a very
nice paint job out there as well. This
is 810 W of peak power with 105 N me of
torque. But if you go to the topsp spec
uh S Works model that has 850 W peak
power and 111 N of torque, there is an
840Wh battery and a 600 option as well.
Available in a couple of different build
kits. So, the Levo 4 Evo Comp that uh is $9,200
$9,200
with Rock Shocks Zeb uh Select fork,
Select Shock, Maven Bronze Brakes, and
then the one you're looking at here is
the Evo Pro. This is $12,300
with the Rock Shock Zeb Ultimate fork,
Ultimate Shock, Stram Silver Maven
Brakes, and the Exo Eagle transmission.
Uh, obviously the removable battery on
this bike like the other um, Levos on
the market as well. What I think is
interesting is if you wanted to convert
your regular Levo, you can actually buy
this shock extender to extend your rear
travel and then you'd want to bump up
the fork on that bike as well. But nice
to have the option aftermarket if you
want to do that. We are at the Ride Wrap
stand, the frame film protection uh,
company that has lots of very nice
bikes. But up front they have a
beautiful looking Carve Evo RSX bike. So
this is the brand new long travel avanox
machine. 180 mil travel front and rear.
It's got the brand new rock shock
suspension on there. So that Zeb fork
with the linear XL bulge. Great looking
fork and also this vivid shock. Again,
linear XL. Got some frame adjustment on
here. You've got high and low BB and
obviously that slacks out or steepens up
the head angle as well on the bottom of
that shock. It comes with mixed wheel
size, which I think really suits a long
travel bike like this. But if you wish,
you can put a 29iner rear wheel on there
as well. Carbon front end, aluminium
rear. You've got tube inside tube
routting for the cables and that lovely
Avanox top tube display as well. And I
think the blue color looks amazing in
this California sunshine. You've got the
big Stram Maven brakes for huge stopping
power. So obviously you can ride this
bike fast downhill. big 220 mil disc up
front, 200 on the rear. Nice touches.
You got a mud guard bolts onto the rear.
And you've also got a fidlock uh bottle
mount and also a little tool mount up
front as well, so you can get out for
long days and be uh ready for any
adventures. The bikes also come factory
fitted with this ride wrap kit, so your
bike is protected from brand new. Also
underneath the ride wrap tent is this
forest style brand new bike eurion. This
is their Avenox bike. Definitely an
unusual looking machine with that rear
linkage, but um it's quite nice to have
something different. It's also got a
beer strapped to the down tube and a Fox
podium fork, crank brothers carbon
wheel, so very high-end spec on this
bike. There's a another long travel
aluminum Avanox bike. There's a good
selection of them actually. And this is
a great looking bike. This is Common Sol
Meta SX. Brand new bike from the Andoran
company with the Avenox M2S motor. Like
I said, aluminium front end. is 160 mil
rear travel, 170 forks, uh mixed wheel
size, and actually it's quanting to see
how the sort of the top tubes looks
different on these aluminium bikes with
that OLED display put in there. But it's
a great looking bike. Obviously, you've
got the the power of that M2S motor. So,
nice to have another long travel option.
Uh two different builds actually on this
white version over here. This is a Rock
Shocks bike with that new Zeb up front
and that Super Deluxe linear XL rear
shock. Obviously, the Stram brakes to
match. This bike is actually $9,200.
Over here, you've got a Fox Shimano
bike, which obviously with the Kushima
and the black frame looks very nice as
well. This Fox bike, you got a factory
36 fork up front and the Flowex rear
shock. Shimano XT brakes. Actually, it's
quite nice to look at the details. The
sort of the way the motor molds into the
down tube is different to any other
Avenox bikes I've seen. And then the
charge port is vertically on top. So,
nice little details on this bike. We're
at the Industry 9 booth. I see over
there some 32er wheels, believe it or
not, but we're not here to look at
those. Here to look at their ebike
wheels, and it's all changed. You may
remember last year the industry 9 bought
we are one the Canadianbased
carbon rim company. Well now you can see
the fruits of that uh convergence
because this is a set of wheels are
basically all inhouse except for the
bearings. So, Industry 9 Hydro2 hubs
built in their factory in Asheville,
North Carolina, as are their one piece
aluminium spokes, which they've tested
and tested. Actually, both the Hydra 2
hubs uh and the spokes have been through
all sorts of torture tests now super
reliable. Um particularly, so the spokes
are super strong. So, they've done loads
of measuring. Obviously, there is no
nipple on these spokes. It's all made
out of one piece material. And also just
the way they line up with that hub.
They're tangential and obviously they do
cross but where they cross this other
spoke they do not touch. So that gives
them a lot of strength as well. The Fuse
ebike wheels are available with these
convergence carbon rims which you
probably recognize if you ever seen
those W1 rims. Really sort of unique
style them. You see sort of wavy shape
through there. Carbon fiber and also
they've got a hollow bead aluminium rim
option as well down there. You can see
the shape of these convergence carbon
rims, how the angle changes from spokes
as they're going from one side of the
hub to the other. So, they line up
completely perpendicular, parallel, not
sure what the word is to the hub. So,
you've got a really flat surface area
where it touches the rim. You can see
nice and close up actually the threaded
part of the spoke that actually it's
wider than the rolled part of the spoke.
So, super strong, lots of surface area
on there. And it as it goes into
literally threads into the hub there and
they come in loads of different colors.
You've obviously got the 870 points of
engagement on the freewheel which means
that every point4 one of a degree that
you turn the actual the free hub paws
engage and actually you get a very nice
little fidget spinner to see those PS
work in action. Now listen to him as well.
>> Right, I'm taking a look at an Aventon
Current. This is a customuilt bike. Uh
very cool. Well, I'll talk about details
in a second, but this brand is new. You
may have seen Steve riding the this
Aventon current out in California, Bray,
uh, where they're actually based. Super
good value bike. So, the ADV aluminium
but their most expensive bike, the uh,
EXP carbon bike is $599. So, very good
value bikes. 140 mil rear travel 150
fork. And this is actually a custom
build as well. You can tell by the the
color of that uh rear derailer and
cassette and the wheels. And also it's
got a Pike fork up front. Great looking
bike. The Ultra X motor gives you 110
new meters of torque and 750 W of peak
power. And there is an 800 W battery in
this bike. Of course, there has been a
lot of news about uh certain motor
brands recently, but I'm glad to see
Bosch are here at CR with a massive
presence. They have got an awful lot of
bikes you can take out for a test.
Obviously, all the brands they work
with. You got Yeti, Pivot, Santa Cruz.
Uh and also you've got some of their
technology. You've got some ABS Pro
equipped bikes I've seen knocking
around. Obviously, I tried that out
recently. Very interesting. So obviously
Bosch is a hardware and software company
and they roll out their updates often
and there are rumblings of a new update
coming for their bikes very soon via
their Bosch Flow app. But over in the
far end of the tent, I can actually see
some nice new bikes just recently
launched uh with Bosch Motors. Checking
out this Pivot LT.
Great looking bike. Uh also Kona in the middle.
middle.
That is their remote 160 and it's very
far end. This is a brand new bike. This
is the Ibis Oso. Uh I think there are
three models this bike available. So
we're going to head straight over to
Ibis get some more details. Right here
we are. And there are say three
different builds for this Ibis Oso. This
is the latest bike to be launched with a
Bosch motor gen 5 motor. But if you take
a look at these details, it says here
Bosch CX Gen 5 top secret Newton meters,
top secret power multiplier, which does
give you an idea on something coming in
the pipe works. I'm not exactly sure
when, but something is coming soon. But
great looking bike, complete update.
Ibis did used to have an Oso, but
definitely a different looking machine.
Super adjustable. So, actually, let's
start. This is the Oso S. Oo fast. This
is full 29iner, 130 mil rear travel, 140
fork, $799
for the full build, 600 watt hour
internal battery, but obviously um
compatible with that 250Wh power more.
And actually over on the Bosch stand, I
saw one with a Bosch Powermore range
extender on it. And actually, it's a
nice little detail there that that
little flip cover for the charging port
has got a little magnet on it as well.
So when you're using that range stander,
it nicely sits open. uh modular dropouts
on this bike. So, as you can see, this
is full 29 of this bike, and you can
have short or long uh chain stay
options, but also that gives the option
switch to 275 wheels, which we'll see on
the different variations of this OSO.
Right now, moving up to the OSO TR, as
you might imagine, a trail bike. So,
beefier build on this bike are Rock
Shocks Lyric. This is actually set up as
full 29, but again, it says here you can
run this in MX wheel size. Same motor
and battery configuration in this. There
is a frame only option which is quite
nice. $6,599 for frame and shock and
then full bills from $8299 up to $9699.
All of these bikes have that Bosch Kiox
400C top tube display. Lovely and
completely flat. Nice integration on
that top tube. Now to the big travel
bikes, the OSO HD they say downhill both
ways. 165 mil rear travel with a 180
fork. obviously is a a Fox 38 and then
you have the Float X2 shock on the back.
So, actually it's the same frame for all
three bikes. Uh the short travel bike
actually has a different shock extender,
but on these two bigger travel bikes,
it's all in done in the stroke of the
shock. So, this has the longest stroke
on this bike for the most rear travel.
Big seat post insertion across all bikes
as well, so you can fit massive dropper
posts on there. And like I said before,
you've got the uh different dropouts the
rear. This bike does come as mixed wheel
size in the smaller options for the
frame sizes, but also you can run it in
full 29 as well if you choose to. This
uh again frame option available $6599
for the frame and shock or $8999
for the full build bike. Right, that is
the first of our videos from Sea Otter.
And there is more to come because there
is an awful lot of kit and bikes I have
not found yet. So, got another couple of
days. I'm going to try and make sure I
get all the best ebike kits to you guys.
So, keep your eyes peeled for the next video.
