0:01 how did this simple gift for her mom
0:03 turn into a million dooll Empire
0:06 overnight the notifications would not
0:09 stop cha-ching cha-ching CH Ching in our
0:11 first 30 days we made
0:14 $100,000 I wanted to shut it all down
0:16 here's how one video and a $300
0:18 embroidery machine changed this family's
0:21 life forever we passed a million dollars
0:23 in less than a year watch as she reveals
0:25 her exact blueprint to makeing Millions
0:27 without spending a dime on ads it's a
0:28 lot less about luck than you think we
0:31 moved offices three times in a year
0:33 that's how fast you can grow a social
0:35 media this is everyone's biggest mistake
0:37 when it comes to Turning followers into
0:39 customers so you're saying anybody can
0:42 do this I think it's totally
0:45 possible so 100,000 first month a
0:47 million in the first year at the age of
0:49 19 which is incredible so before we get
0:52 into your story tell us what soulmate
0:54 Customs is all about and how far you've
0:56 come yeah so we take people's pictures
0:58 we turn them into outlined art so we
1:00 handdraw them and then embroider them
1:02 onto a ton of different products like
1:04 hoodies sweatshirts blankets teddy bears
1:06 or engrave them onto jewelry like
1:09 necklaces keychains and a ton of other
1:11 products what about how big is your
1:14 staff we have 20 plus people currently
1:16 it always varies but currently 20 plus
1:18 and when did you start aada we started 3
1:21 years ago in 2021 it was insane I
1:24 honestly never expected it when we
1:26 launch slate Customs I got that first CH
1:28 chain with my first order and I went up
1:30 to my mom I'm like Mom oh my god look
1:31 soulmate Customs like it's from this
1:33 business we just got our first order and
1:35 we were like jumping up and down we like
1:37 only in 4 days we got our first ever
1:39 order that's wild right and then once I
1:41 got that first order I started taking a
1:43 video of it and I posted on Tik Tok like
1:45 oh my God guys I got my first ever order
1:48 and I vlogged it and that video started
1:50 going viral and then I see hundreds of
1:52 people all of the sudden are following
1:54 commenting the most supportive comments
1:57 ever and I realized we are going viral
1:59 freaking out it was like one of the best
2:01 periods of time I'll never forget it how
2:03 did you come up with the concept in the
2:04 first place what's the story on that so
2:06 I was looking for a gift for my mom's
2:08 50th birthday and I couldn't find
2:10 anything that was genuinely unique
2:12 enough to gift her I really wanted her
2:14 to feel extra special so I went on
2:17 Google and I searched gift for Mom's the
2:19 same boring ideas would pop up like get
2:21 your mom flowers get her like a t-shirt
2:23 that says I love your mom after
2:25 basically getting fed up with it I
2:26 thought of the idea one day what if I
2:28 just create something myself and then
2:30 the idea popped up for me to just take a
2:32 picture of me and my mom outline it on
2:36 my iPad and then turn it into like a USB
2:38 file to then be embroidered onto a
2:40 sweatshirt that's exactly what I did how
2:43 did it turn into a gift for Mom but then
2:45 here we are it's a multi-million dollar
2:47 business yeah so when I first made the
2:49 sweatshirt I genuinely did not think
2:51 much of it I was like it's a cool gift
2:53 she's going to like it but never thought
2:55 she would have that crazy reaction that
2:57 she did have she started crying and I
2:59 was like what and then she said kayada
3:00 this is is the most special thing I've
3:03 ever gotten in my life and almost
3:04 immediately after she's like let's start
3:06 a business out of this this is genius
3:07 all right well I'm excited to see the
3:09 entire process from start to finish and
3:11 I'll follow your lead yeah so actually
3:13 your team sent me a picture of you and
3:16 your family so we might make something
3:17 extra special for you let's go into
3:19 that's cool Little Rascals you guys are all
3:19 all [Music]
3:22 [Music]
3:24 right all right so this is one of your
3:26 inventory rooms right yes gotcha you're
3:28 kind of out growing the space already
3:30 yes we are we've already actually
3:32 changed three office locations in 3
3:34 years in first year we changed two
3:36 office spaces I believe and then 3 years
3:38 in we have this big place that we're at
3:40 but still we're outgrowing it so it's
3:42 pretty thankful for it nice Journey
3:45 continues well let's ask and you about
3:48 the first what a couple weeks $100,000
3:50 in the first 30 days what was that like
3:52 how did you start was it 200 bucks you
3:55 started with you us a little story there
3:57 yeah so I started first with a $300 Ur
4:00 machine and uh in the first week of
4:02 business once we got that first order we
4:04 went viral on Tik Tok so that first
4:07 video that we ever created it converted
4:09 like crazy as I said 3 four uh thousand
4:11 orders in just a couple of weeks it was
4:14 crazy wow why why did it do so well the
4:15 video I'm especially curious I think it
4:17 was emotional and it was very authentic
4:19 people saw it and they're like this is
4:21 so sweet how humble this this girl is
4:23 that she just got her first order I
4:26 guess people also like and L the idea
4:27 behind the business so a ton of people
4:29 were ordering and supporting it was
4:30 incredible wow and the first month how
4:34 many total orders we made our first 100K
4:35 on our first month of business and
4:37 that's the time your mom wanted to
4:39 continue and you were like freaking out
4:41 a little bit or it was crazy I remember
4:44 in our first 2 3 weeks when we we had
4:46 thousands of orders coming in I was in
4:49 my parents like small apartment with one
4:51 $300 embroidering machine and I remember
4:54 I went up to my mom and I'm like Mom how
4:55 are we going to fulfill it how are we
4:57 going to fulfill all this right and I I
4:59 told my mom like Mom I really think we
5:00 should stop the shop like we're not
5:02 going to be able to fulfill all this and
5:04 she looked me in the eye and she's like
5:06 kada that is the last thing we are going
5:08 to do the last thing to do is put out
5:10 the fire right you're going to keep it
5:12 going so we're going to find our way and
5:13 we're going to do it that's amazing
5:15 we'll talk about how she managed all
5:18 those orders later on in the video so
5:20 keep watching for now what are we
5:22 picking here what's the process let's do
5:24 a let for my wife you want a hoodie yeah
5:26 let's see is this a me I think that's
5:27 what we need right I'll let you uh take
5:31 the range let's do it all right so other
5:32 than the first video are there any
5:34 others that have brought you a large
5:36 influx of business and if so why did
5:38 they work let's kind of hone in on the
5:41 detail specifics of those videos the
5:44 biggest thing is do not sell anyone who
5:46 sees you trying to sell they immediately
5:50 get offut by it when you sell by emotion
5:51 that's when people are really okay like
5:52 they're not forcing me to buy anything
5:54 but they're just showing a story from
5:55 one one of their customers or showing
5:58 like a really funny video every single
5:59 time that I post something and I'm like
6:01 hey hey like this is my small business
6:03 like purchase for me who's going to Care
6:05 like there's thousands and millions of
6:07 businesses out there that you know
6:09 promote their products what does a
6:11 person care about that you know what
6:13 makes you different right exactly so I
6:14 have a lot of friends that are like how
6:16 do you do it and and what do I do what
6:17 what do I need to invest I'm like
6:19 absolutely nothing I've paid video
6:22 videographers I've paid editors and I
6:23 paid thousands of dollars for them to to
6:25 you know be cutting up and making the
6:27 perfect videos every single time they
6:31 flop but when it's just my phone quality
6:33 is lower that's when people really love
6:36 the authenticity they really do so at
6:39 least in my experience always the videos
6:40 that are the less effort those are the
6:43 ones that go viral so between your
6:45 office your materials supplies Etc
6:46 what's your monthly overhead just
6:49 curious so usually we spend around
6:52 150,000 to 250,000 depending on on the
6:54 season mm that's per month or you
6:56 talking about a 12- Monon period per
6:58 month that's a large number yeah how
7:00 does it feel like being responsible for
7:03 it at like the age of 22 I will tell you
7:08 stressful it's not just about you know
7:11 the expenses the rent of the office and
7:13 like all the expenses of the material
7:14 most importantly it's our staff that we
7:17 have to pay and we have to constantly be
7:18 keeping them in work and if they don't
7:20 have work they have you know families to
7:22 take care of so it's a lot of stress
7:24 it's a lot of stress behind it totally
7:25 when it comes to inventory kada what
7:27 inventory lessons have you learned along
7:30 the way maybe the Hard Way I definitely
7:31 learned a very hard way which is
7:34 purchasing too many items when they
7:36 didn't sell out because i' just like
7:37 kind of guess it and play The Guessing
7:40 Game and it just never turned out well
7:43 especially when it's a already made
7:45 product I actually still have boxes that
7:48 have not been sold for years oh well
7:50 yeah is there any software or apps that
7:52 you're using for inventory management or
7:54 how are you keeping track of that no
7:56 currently no just Shopify okay
7:58 everything to that platform yeah okay
7:59 guys question for you do you think
8:02 having an idea at a product is all that
8:05 it takes to be successful or timing
8:07 connections who you know plays a big
8:09 role love to know what your thoughts are
8:12 comment below I'll ask kada later on all
8:15 right let's grab our hoodie and uh go to
8:17 the next process which would be what is
8:19 it preing it cleaning it or just
8:21 embroidering we're going to hoop it a
8:28 hoodie basically just stretching it out
8:30 and prepping it for the embroidery
8:33 machine exactly we take this hoop first
8:36 and we put it under the hoodie have to
8:39 be very careful cuz if it's a little bit
8:42 slanted then it'll it'll be longy here
8:43 now you've been doing this from day one
8:46 obviously nobody taught you to do
8:48 anything all on your own it's amazing
8:50 YouTube tutorials yeah YouTube tutorials
8:52 there's a ton of resources out there
8:54 totally what's that going in for we put
8:56 the backing paper it like Smooths the
8:59 embroidery uh it also like seals it in
9:03 there we go got to make looping oh so it
9:05 goes into that frame exactly there you
9:07 go let's talk about your design process
9:09 an image comes in from a customer what
9:11 does that process with like before it
9:13 hits the final product yeah so the
9:15 minute that a customer submits an order
9:17 it automatically gets assigned to one of
9:19 our outliners uh usually it takes
9:22 probably around an hour to actually take
9:24 that outline and start working on it and
9:25 then once they work on it they send it
9:27 to our group chat in that group chat our
9:29 digitizer grabs that design and he
9:31 starts digitizing it so he puts it into
9:35 like a machine CED so that the machine
9:37 understands how to embroider our team
9:39 member prints out the shipping labels
9:41 and she puts them together with the USBs
9:44 we bring them over here we grab the
9:46 inventory we start hooping them then we
9:48 put them on machines once they're done
9:50 from the machines they get put into
9:53 these baskets over here and on those
9:55 baskets I usually look on them so that I
9:57 can choose which ones do I want to
9:59 record and which ones not and then from
10:02 there I put the others to packing and
10:04 that's pretty much pretty much so you
10:06 actually take customers hoodies with
10:09 their designed and do videos about it
10:11 yeah so we do have an option where it
10:13 says like if you want to opt out of
10:16 being filmed or not that's like also
10:18 another reason which incentivizes our
10:20 customers to purchase from us because
10:21 we're always recording and there's so
10:24 many videos of stories that go viral all
10:26 the time so people love seeing their
10:28 their orders on social media on our
10:30 stories on TI talks and on on different
10:31 platforms that's pretty clever cuz I
10:33 thought well wait that's their design
10:34 like don't show it to the world but
10:36 people are actually saying no do it if
10:38 you can oh yeah they feel great you get
10:41 the content and it's a win-win oh yeah
10:43 yeah tell us what kind of numbers are
10:45 you guys doing today in terms of Revenue
10:47 yeah so in our first year of business in
10:49 actually exactly 11 months we hit our
10:51 first seven figures and that was with
10:54 zero ad spend which is so mindblowing so
10:56 it was just with my little Tik toks that
10:58 I would film and then up until this day
11:01 we're multiple seven figures a year at
11:03 age 19 how did it feel to make so much
11:05 money essentially almost overnight any
11:07 mistakes any regrets what what are some
11:09 lessons that you learned especially in
11:11 those moments I mean it was incredible
11:13 of course I never as I said I never
11:15 expected for us to be making so much
11:17 money immediately as we started I was
11:20 super happy with like the one order we
11:22 made in the first four days so yet alone
11:24 than having a 100K in in our first month
11:27 it was absolutely crazy we did reinvest
11:29 like basically every panty back into the
11:30 business and to this day that's what we
11:33 continue doing there's so much right
11:35 there's so much to do so with that
11:37 Capital that we do have we don't have
11:39 any investors everything is just by us
11:42 with you know all the sales that we get
11:44 so it's really important for us to stay
11:45 focused and just keep on reinvesting
11:47 everything back into the business so you
11:49 haven't splurged in any way as a
11:51 22-year-old now right even buy a Ferrari
11:53 or Porsche you're you're all in on the
11:55 business is what you're saying what
11:57 would you buy me and my brother bought
12:00 like one car that we both share together
12:02 and like it is like a nice car it's a
12:06 BMW so it's a BMW I4 so good choice

13:09 machines what's the most unusual custom
13:12 request you've received the spicy ones
13:14 get me every single time they they get
13:16 wild what's your most viral Tik Tok how
13:18 many views did it get it was one the Tik
13:21 Tok I think it went up to 35 million
13:24 views um that's just in one platform but
13:26 it was one we had an intern it was her
13:28 first day working for us and she saw an
13:29 order with someone's boyfriend who
13:31 passed away with angel wings started
13:33 crying she came into my office and she's
13:35 like can I step out she was crying her
13:37 eyes out and I'm like what happened and
13:39 then I realize and I'm like I filmed a
13:41 video of the whole process of course I
13:43 asked her and that just went super viral
13:45 so what's the best and worst part of
13:47 being an entrepreneur at such a young
13:51 age like being able to help other people
13:53 whether that's our own customers who
13:55 record themselves crying their eyes out
13:57 because they they can finally wear
13:59 whoever it might be right who passed
14:01 away or if it's our team members like
14:03 they can take care of our families and I
14:04 can't believe that I'm a source that I
14:06 can help other people take care of their
14:08 families it's mind-blowing to me what's
14:10 your dream collaboration and why Sarah
14:12 Blakeley easy Sarah Blakeley she's my
14:14 favorite person on Earth best business
14:16 owner ever so I would dream dream Dre
14:18 cool what's one thing most people don't
14:20 know about you probably the singing
14:21 aspect I think a lot of people who know
14:22 me for business they don't know that I
14:24 would sing before and I used to be on
14:26 stages if you weren't running soulmate
14:27 Customs what would it be what would you
14:30 be doing instead singing acting okay do
14:32 you have any jobs that could be done
14:34 remotely uh the person says I love the
14:36 business and I'm curious a lot about out
14:39 ofate work we do our outliners are all
14:40 remote and there's a lot of other
14:42 positions that are remote as well okay
14:45 boom how much is this machine by the way
14:47 cost this one is actually our first ever
14:49 commercial Andro machine so from that
14:51 $300 machine this is what we purchased
14:55 and it's $22,000 22k yeah you got to
14:57 spend money to make money right and how
14:59 long does this process take once you get
15:01 everything set up hit start usually our
15:03 designs are about 15 to 20 minutes and
15:06 we don't want to longer than that and
15:07 then if it's a really detail design it
15:10 can go up to 40 minutes which is yeah
15:12 which is difficult for us all right you
15:14 have an incredible amount of reviews on
15:16 your website over 5,000 which is amazing
15:18 five stars let's talk about how you
15:20 approach maintaining quality with so
15:21 many orders being pumped out customer
15:23 service and what are you doing with the
15:25 staff as well to help communicate with
15:27 all that I think for us it's really
15:29 important since we first started uh our
15:31 business it was really important for me
15:34 if if our target audience currently is
15:36 Gen Z and we have all of our team be
15:39 trained to speak the genen Z language so
15:42 especially for our customer service of
15:44 course customer service is also like an
15:46 aspect of sales so you want to make sure
15:47 that you're super friendly and you're
15:49 speaking to them our business is really
15:51 like a community it's not just like a
15:53 customer they purchase once and they're
15:55 out like we have so many people like
15:58 literal supporters we have we get fan
16:00 mail all the time which is like so wild
16:01 to me but I always tell our customer
16:03 service there's going to be a ton of
16:05 customers that are going to reach out to
16:06 to us and they're going to write in all
16:08 caps oh my God I am so excited for this
16:10 new product to go out and I tell them
16:13 please feel free use all of the funny
16:16 emojis repeat like how they're speaking
16:17 to you so if they're in all caps you
16:20 write in all caps as well I don't want
16:22 it to be that you know boring super
16:25 professional type of we're different
16:27 like I want it to be different in a way
16:30 that we're very uh kind of friendly and
16:31 we treat our our supporters and our
16:34 customers like like friends not just
16:36 like a customer service type of
16:37 relationship well let's get this thing
16:39 rolling let it do its thing what does it
16:41 say in terms of time oh it says 23
16:42 minutes 23 minutes you want to click the
16:46 green button you the green butt wrong
16:49 y all right well we'll let it do what
16:50 it's doing let's go check out the
16:52 officers I've got some amazing questions
16:59 you very beautiful office any cool
17:01 stories about these photos some of the
17:03 originals maybe yeah actually a kind of
17:05 cool story but like it was a failure I
17:07 thought of the idea what if we print out
17:09 customers picture and we provide them
17:11 like a little painting kit so they can
17:13 paint it themselves I thought it was
17:15 really cool um then we launched them and
17:18 then no one really y that's that's okay
17:20 that's the evolution of a business yeah
17:21 there's like a museum over here the
17:25 failure Museum how much capacity do you
17:27 have uh out there in terms of how much
17:29 volume you can pump out in terms of
17:30 embroidery what do you think you're
17:33 ready for yeah so for embroidery
17:36 currently we can make up to like 300 um
17:38 per day hoodie sweatshirts t-shirts
17:40 that's a lot how many people have to
17:43 staff all that production with those
17:44 machines that we do have there has to be
17:46 at least like maybe two people sometimes
17:49 one if that one person is like super on
17:51 it but usually two people can make sure
17:53 all the embroider machines are going at
17:55 all times Wow Let's Ask uh you about
17:57 your upbringing who were you before so
17:59 many Customs what was the upbringing
18:00 like I know you guys immigrated so what
18:02 are some stories and lessons there my
18:04 parents have been in business their
18:06 entire lives and and they had um a
18:08 business in Europe but for me I've
18:10 always been in the entertainment
18:11 industry so I used to sing and act and
18:15 anytime anyone would tell me like kada
18:16 what else do you want to do in life and
18:18 I'm like nothing there is no plan B I'm
18:19 going to be a singer and an actress and
18:22 no one's going to say otherwise nothing
18:25 so plans changed and things happened and
18:27 actually when Co hit that's when the
18:29 audition shut down so there was nothing
18:30 really to do and I was like okay let me
18:33 start like deop shops and some small
18:35 shops since also Tik Tok was a thing so
18:38 that's when I kind of built that little
18:40 experience to then hop on to a venture
18:43 like soulmate Customs before we ask you
18:45 about how your leadership style evolved
18:46 right as a 19-year-old who started the
18:48 business hiring older folks and just
18:51 overall management in general this W
18:53 looks pretty cool is it just default or
18:55 is there some stories here I'm curious
18:57 it does have a lot of meaning um I mean
19:01 we have me over here of course we have
19:03 Center in the center right this is me
19:04 and my mom I didn't know it would be so
19:06 low but this is me and my mom when we
19:08 had a photo shoot and then here is the
19:10 computer we wanted to launch July 1st
19:13 11-11 cuz it's like a it's a number for
19:15 me and my mom like we relate to it right
19:17 and we were waiting until the moment
19:18 11-11 and that's when we were both
19:20 holding hands and my mom made a prayer
19:23 and she said I hope this is the business
19:25 that becomes successful as a
19:27 motherdaughter business she's always
19:29 dreamed of since I was born she always
19:31 dreamt that she would have a successful
19:33 business with her daughter and crazy but
19:36 that prayer at 11-11 on July 1st
19:38 actually worked that's awesome yeah well
19:40 you started young and so when it comes
19:42 to leadership what's your advice what's
19:43 your tip how did you evolve as well as a
19:46 leader within the organization yeah well
19:48 I didn't know that going into business
19:50 leadership is such an important skill
19:52 and now I really understand so now it's
19:55 I'm kind of in a in a moment in my life
19:57 that I'm all the time just looking for
19:58 more information and how to learn and
20:00 just become a better leader for our team
20:03 members how did you overcome the lack of
20:05 confidence I would imagine right I think
20:07 it's just from experience there's no
20:09 other way to overcome any fear that you
20:11 have other than hitting it head on I
20:13 would have people that were way older
20:15 than me coming into the office and I
20:17 would interview them when I would call
20:19 them back they would always look at me
20:20 odd like is is this really who's
20:22 interviewing me like this kid
20:24 19-year-old 20-year-old K expected yeah
20:26 and then I would call them back cuz we
20:29 just needed people to help us and um
20:31 they wouldn't come so then at one point
20:33 I went up to my mom and dad and I'm like
20:35 Mom and Dad can you come in into the
20:37 interviews and like be with me because
20:39 no one's coming back for some reason
20:42 interesting yeah so it it just based on
20:44 experience we always shifted you know
20:46 until we found the the thing that works
20:48 this is for every aspect in our business
20:49 what were some of the biggest lessons
20:51 you learned uh having gone through the
20:53 past couple years growing building your
20:56 business there's so many but I think one
20:59 of the most important that I'm still
21:02 learning throughout this day is not
21:04 being perfect I know everyone says it
21:06 and no one really understands but like
21:08 not being perfect is so incredibly
21:10 important and crucial in business
21:11 because if you wait until that perfect
21:14 moment for every single thing it's going
21:16 to take months not years to actually
21:19 Implement so let's freaking do
21:23 this I think Scrappy should be a perfect word
21:24 word
21:28 to kind of talk about like how you
21:29 should be in business scrappiness is
21:31 very important of course there has to be
21:34 organization in between as well but at
21:37 least for us scrappiness has been a huge
21:39 thing just go go into it don't wait
21:41 until the perfect moment because it'll
21:43 simply never be perfect right yeah well
21:45 said if you guys are inspired by K's
21:47 Journey uh do us a huge favor hit that
21:49 like And subscribe button not only gives
21:51 us a Pat in the back but helps us bring
21:52 on more and more incredible
21:54 entrepreneurs my kada well I'm excited
21:56 to see the final version of the hoodie
21:58 do you think it's ready yet I think so
22:01 okay let's go let's go see it well that
22:03 looks pretty cool you guys get a close-up
22:04 close-up
22:07 look that looks like my family oh yeah
22:10 my girls beautiful family let's go make
22:12 some content with us perfect behind the
22:14 scenes making a live Tik Tok video this
22:16 is how it happens just random
22:18 inspiration random music right let's do
22:20 it all right let's try it out okay so do
22:22 you know them is trending so we're going
22:24 to go with that one
22:29 yeah okay three two one do you know them
22:33 that was perfect you know that that was
22:38 perfect let's go so you can record me
22:47 no do you know them no but in the cler
22:52 we all fam what in the cler we all fam I
22:54 don't in the club we are all family that
22:58 was the one this is my first exposure to
23:00 making the taked Down video after 205
23:05 interviews of upflip this is 101 for
23:07 me awesome man you got a pretty good
23:09 looking setup here thank you thank you I
23:12 try my best how do you choose uh which
23:13 orders to create content around I'm
23:15 curious about that it depends because
23:17 I'm I'm always looking at customer
23:19 orders and whenever I get an idea I
23:21 usually record it on the whim and also
23:24 something that I do to have efficiency
23:26 when when recording since it's such a
23:29 big part of our business is I don't take
23:30 more than 10 minutes to film a video if
23:32 it's taking me more than 10 minutes it's
23:35 out next so you've built your business
23:38 entirely essentially on Tik Tok can you
23:40 give our audience uh a step-by-step
23:42 simple blueprint on how they can do the
23:45 same in any business a business totally
23:47 number one most important thing is
23:49 consistency no matter how great you
23:51 think you are or how bad you think you
23:53 are simply just post that is like
23:56 incredibly important post as many times
23:59 as you possibly can don't be posting
24:01 eight on one day and then the next day
24:02 you don't post the next day you post
24:05 like two consistency is everything the
24:07 amount of times that I've had to drag
24:09 myself no matter if I think I look good
24:11 or if I feel terrible doesn't matter
24:13 from equipment standpoint I think the
24:15 step would be don't don't splurge on too
24:17 much equipment right we have two iPhones
24:18 here and and a couple lights and that's
24:21 it it's like Vine just the silliest
24:24 smallest videos would get the most views
24:26 um I think those are super important
24:28 another one is of course selling like do
24:30 not sell always be super authentic the
24:32 more you try not to sell the more people
24:34 are like oh hey like cool let me buy you
24:36 know so even on the caption make it
24:39 super jenzy make it super you know Chill
24:42 Vibes and then just linoln bio is what
24:43 we have that's really all we do what's
24:45 the most stressful part of operating
24:46 this business and how have you learned
24:49 to manage it I would definitely say
24:52 seasonality seasonality is really big is
24:53 a really big one I think you know we're
24:56 a gifting business so it varies a lot
24:58 with season and we're trying to smooth
25:00 that out as much as possible dealing
25:03 with it it's taking it easy taking it
25:05 easy there's just like no matter what
25:07 you could possibly do if you don't just
25:10 take it easy in here yeah mentally it's
25:12 it's really really important you know
25:13 your health can downgrade because of
25:15 that but a couple of things that I do do
25:17 is going to the gym it helps me a lot to
25:19 just put out all that frustration that
25:20 happens or the stress that happens
25:23 within the day but also going out with
25:25 people that can relate to you and that
25:27 are in business they understand you know
25:28 where you're coming from and what saying
25:32 and they too that's a big one um and
25:34 then of meditating and doing all those
25:36 things that can really help with your
25:38 well-being you're heavily reliant on Tik
25:40 Tok so I'm just wondering if are you
25:41 worried about that how are you
25:43 protecting your business moving forward
25:44 because you're going to continue to
25:47 scale continue to grow for us 40% of our
25:50 business is organic 40% is paid and
25:54 around 20% is email and SMS marketing so
25:56 of course no matter what happens with
25:58 Tik Tok then we have all those other
26:00 marketing platforms we also have you
26:02 know of course email and SMS and you
26:03 know paid advertisements but I do think
26:06 it's as I keep on saying adaptability is
26:09 super important because there's going
26:11 every single year things are going to
26:12 change as long as you're an adaptable
26:15 person and you're not you don't take it
26:17 with fear then it's going to be fine
26:18 it's going to be stressful but it's
26:21 going to be fine awesome how many
26:23 packages are going out of this place on
26:26 a perday basis and what systems have you
26:27 implemented to make sure everything goes
26:29 efficient and smooth
26:32 yeah so we've shipped around 70,000 plus
26:35 packages to date which is pretty insane
26:37 one thing that we recently added
26:40 actually let me show you so in all of
26:41 the packing slips I'm going to hide the
26:43 address here but in all the packing
26:45 slips yeah we have a QR code that all of
26:47 our team members scan so if it's in the
26:49 packaging station our team members will
26:51 scan it and put that the process isn't
26:54 in packaging and actually all of the
26:56 customers get notified through email
26:58 what station that their order is so as
27:00 soon as my order comes in I know it's in
27:02 process and every step of the way I get
27:04 an update yes all the way to shipping
27:05 all the way to shipping or cont creation
27:07 you get an email that says kayada is
27:09 actually filming your your order so yeah
27:12 it's pretty exciting during peak season
27:14 the busiest time of your life probably
27:16 how do you ensure quality control what
27:18 systems specifically are in place to
27:20 make sure things are going out happy
27:23 customers yeah so we have one qu quality
27:25 control specialist so first of all we
27:27 train all of our team members especially
27:29 Packaging so that they can check all the
27:31 order information check everything so
27:32 that they can make sure that the correct
27:34 thing is being sent and everything looks
27:36 good if something doesn't look good we
27:38 send it right back to get re-embroidered
27:40 or re-engraved um and then we also have
27:42 a quality control specialist which
27:44 checks for everything it won't get
27:45 shipped unless it's gone through that
27:48 process yes yeah okay now when when
27:50 things do somehow slip through the
27:53 cracks now what's your uh process of
27:55 just correcting the situation so if it's
27:57 something that's our mistake absolutely
27:59 like immediately we will reship
28:00 something if it's like a hole in your
28:02 order if it's an embroidery error if
28:04 it's something that we did that the
28:06 customer didn't request for any reason
28:08 then we will definitely uh redo the
28:09 order for them and and ship it right
28:12 back out early on we asked everyone on
28:14 their opinion if luck plays a role in
28:16 entrepreneurs Journey success what do
28:17 you say to that what do you think about
28:19 it I think it does have a lot to do with
28:21 luck as well but there's this saying
28:23 that the my mom always says she says the
28:25 the harder that you work the luckier
28:28 that you get so while of course luck has
28:30 has a lot to do with what you do you
28:31 also have to be prepared for that
28:33 opportunity for the time that it comes
28:34 if you're not prepared and you do get the
28:36 the
28:38 opportunity what's going to happen with
28:40 that having achieved so much at your age
28:42 how do you stay focused grounded
28:45 motivated and so forth for me it's super
28:49 important to take time uh as much as I
28:51 possibly can in a week to fill out my
28:54 journal which is uh giving out gratitude
28:56 I know a lot of things I think now I've
28:59 come to a point where a lot of my dreams
29:01 and much more than my dreams have come
29:03 true and at this point a lot of things
29:06 happen and you get used to it right and
29:08 you don't celebrate it as much for me I
29:10 try to remind myself it's really really
29:12 important to think back where you were 3
29:14 years ago you wouldn't even have ever
29:15 imagine you be at this point where
29:18 you're at so kayada take a step back and
29:20 really understand what your life has
29:22 turned into it's super important to
29:24 remember that or else it's it's going to
29:25 get to your head and that's my biggest
29:27 fear I never want to get to my head I
29:29 always want to say humble I want to help
29:33 people because it was it's so hard it is
29:35 so hard to get here so I'm more than
29:38 happy to help anyone that I possibly can
29:39 uh with their Journey all right if
29:41 kayada story inspired you I've got
29:43 exciting incredible news for you guys

29:48 your personality goals and situation and

29:55 guarantee check it out click the link in
29:57 the description below and launch your
29:58 business today
29:59 all right well let's go ship this thing
30:02 out and uh get into some more questions
30:05 let's do it all right so what are some
30:06 last steps left before we package this
30:08 thing and ship it out so now we're going
30:11 to lit roll it so we make sure there's
30:14 no dust from the space and then we're
30:17 going to cut some extra thread yeah so
30:19 we cut those so it's perfect and then we
30:22 fold it nicely you're the expert folder
30:25 now let's see how that goes it's perfect
30:28 no like the salt guy yeah we'll get our
30:32 soulmate touched here Perfection see
30:34 taada sweet and now we just put it in
30:36 the bag and send it over to Germany
30:38 let's do it what prompted you to get
30:40 into jewelry and what percentage of your
30:42 business is jewelry as of today I
30:44 usually put out products that I
30:46 personally really like cuz my target
30:49 audience is kind of like me right gen Z
30:51 young and it's mostly females so I
30:53 thought it would be super cute we
30:54 started with our uh I think our first
30:56 necklace we ever put out was our heart
30:58 necklaces and the second saw it from our
31:00 manufacturer I'm like I want this
31:02 because I would wear it myself it ended
31:03 up being a hit and it was really uh
31:06 popular so then we started expanding um
31:08 one of our most top popular products is
31:11 our tag necklaces those ones actually I
31:13 never I I didn't really think they would
31:15 succeed but they uh completely surprised
31:17 me our tag necklace is our complete top
31:19 seller with our keychains as well with
31:21 so many product lines you've got jewelry
31:23 you've got the clothing line how do you
31:25 track how much inventory you need what
31:27 what determines that is it a software or
31:28 you just kind of guess gu in a little
31:30 bit at the moment we do definitely like
31:34 guess in a way because usually we always
31:36 tend to order based on how much how much
31:38 we see people loving it so in the very
31:40 beginning it's like a constant argument
31:42 between me and my mom she's always like
31:43 okay we found like a piece we want to
31:46 order or put out right and she's like
31:48 let's order order 100 I'm like no let's
31:50 order five pieces let's keep it at five
31:51 pieces let me create some sample pieces
31:53 see how people like it and then once we
31:55 see how people like it if there's a
31:56 video that goes viral you can
31:58 immediately order it and then it comes
32:01 in within like 2 to 5 days so it's not
32:03 that big of an issue for us you have a
32:05 ton of incredible user generated content
32:07 which is pretty cool right what's your
32:09 advice to others who need their
32:11 customers to generate the content and
32:13 what's it doing to your Marketing in
32:15 general as well push them I think it's
32:16 super important to be asking your
32:18 customers and pushing them to be sending
32:20 you whether that's through your social
32:22 media posting videos of it constantly I
32:24 try to tend to make them funny and I'm
32:25 like please just give them to me give
32:28 them to me right or you can post on your
32:30 story or you can also go through the
32:32 email marketing and SMS marketing route
32:34 once they receive their order you make
32:35 sure to send them an email that says if
32:37 there's one thing you can do to really
32:39 help our business it's send us those
32:41 personalized videos or like those
32:45 surprise reactions they're huge nowadays
32:47 my age uses Tik Tok as a search engine
32:49 they don't use Google as much as they
32:51 use Tik Tok when they're whenever
32:52 they're trying to buy a product if I'm
32:55 trying to order a pair of shoes or
32:57 whatever it might be I I swear I am
32:58 first going to to search it up on Tik
33:01 Tok see the ugc user generated content
33:03 based on their reviews I'm going to
33:06 purchase it or not this is me personally
33:07 and I see a ton of other people doing
33:10 that so it's not even just the ROI of
33:11 what you're going to get because you
33:13 know people are going to you know open
33:14 up their packages and post them on on
33:17 Tik Tok it's simply the fact that even
33:20 if it just has 10 views there's going to
33:22 be people watching that video and you
33:24 need that you need other people talking
33:26 about your business because not
33:27 everyone's just going to trust the
33:29 business itself well the production
33:30 embroidery side everything has been
33:32 amazing I think the only thing we
33:33 haven't seen is the jewelry room and
33:35 where all that magic happens take us
33:37 there do
33:41 it how much have you sold going live and
33:43 why does that work so well you think it
33:46 always varies between the live but uh
33:49 we've gotten up to $220,000 in in one
33:51 live and that's like what a 30 minute
33:53 depends sometimes it's 30 minutes
33:55 sometimes I used to go up to like 4
33:59 hours who yeah not the case anymore I
34:00 got burned out from it so I'm like you
34:03 know what I need to chill a little bit
34:04 uh so now I go like up to an hour and I
34:06 time them so if we do like spin the
34:08 wheels you only have 30 minutes you only
34:10 have 1 hour to be you know purchasing
34:11 something and get to spin the wheel and
34:13 get something extra with your order for
34:15 free so we time them so it also has that
34:17 scarcity factor to it why does it work
34:19 so well you think what's your opinion I
34:22 think number one it's huge building a
34:24 community like it has been one of the
34:27 biggest factors as to why we've built
34:29 such a community because they can speak
34:31 to me directly through a live like they
34:33 ask a question I'm immediately answering
34:35 and like it gets to the point where like
34:36 we have people saying I love you kayada
34:39 like you're such an
34:42 inspiration I get that too but
34:44 um it'll happen
34:47 soon but yeah I think that's one of the
34:49 biggest things and then also on top of
34:51 that it's of course the offers and the
34:52 sales that they get through throughout
34:54 the live we always change it so like one
34:56 live everyone who purchases during this
34:58 live if you use the code ings you get a
35:00 free pair of earrings or if we do the
35:01 spin the wheels whoever purchases
35:02 throughout the live within the 30
35:04 minutes or 40 minutes then you get to
35:06 spin the wheel and get something extra
35:09 we give like double your order free
35:12 hoodies we give some crazy gifts so the
35:14 perks that you get yeah the incentives
35:15 the deals the discounts from a customer
35:17 standpoint there's some sick ones on
35:19 live sessions not as much online yeah
35:21 okay so tell our audience a little bit
35:23 about this room these machines what they
35:26 cost sort of what happens here yeah so
35:28 machines they vary from a couple of
35:31 thousand probably around 3,000 4,000
35:33 5,000 somewhere around there you got
35:36 four of them yes we have four currently
35:38 uh we actually just upgraded since Julia
35:41 has been super doing really well so we
35:43 just upgraded to more machines um but we
35:44 have a ton of different products that's
35:46 cool um and all of these are waterproof
35:48 too I think that's like a big thing why
35:50 customers love them there's really no
35:52 end to to to the things you can do when
35:54 it comes to jewelry there is no end and
35:56 plus our Niche being in the personalized
35:58 space it's like anybody can order from
35:59 us it's not just for your boyfriend or
36:01 girlfriend it's your pets literally
36:03 anyone and this thing slides out or what
36:06 oh wow yeah it does I love you I love
36:10 you three now be good for
36:12 Daddy a spicy
36:16 one I'm not F I'm slow like
36:19 that that's so
36:21 funny it's hilarious I thought that's
36:23 like from a child or dad or something I
36:25 was like he's not going to read it I was
36:28 like he's not going to read it
36:30 that's hilarious oh my gosh I think I'm
36:33 now getting in let's move on what would
36:35 you tell your 19-year-old self if you
36:38 can go back and say do this or don't do
36:42 this I'd say work harder not because I
36:44 wouldn't work hard I would work my butt
36:46 off uh especially as a 19-year-old when
36:48 all of my friends would be out I'd still
36:50 be focused on okay like at 9:00 a.m. you
36:53 start work 5:00 p.m. let's C work and
36:54 then let's like let's go out with
36:56 friends or do something extra now I'm
36:59 like no I really really want to just
37:01 fully focus on simply just building the
37:04 business because so much greatness comes
37:06 out if you're just fully honing in and
37:09 like focusing on on a bigger purpose so
37:11 to me a lot of people will tell you like
37:13 oh you're very young why are you working
37:16 so hard I've always had this saying that
37:18 I've told to myself since I was really
37:20 little the younger you start the younger
37:23 you'll get there the more that I work
37:25 the quicker that I achieve whatever that
37:27 I want to achieve so I don't know what
37:29 work life balances guys cuz as a
37:30 business owner if you really want to
37:34 succeed you can't just be working 9 to5
37:36 like every other person we've analyzed
37:38 over 137 most profitable businesses that
37:40 you guys can start today so make sure
37:42 you get a free copy for yourself by
37:43 clicking the link in the description
37:47 below is there any advice kayada that
37:50 you were given that did not end up being
37:51 so useful to your success maybe when it
37:55 comes to inventory or content creation
37:57 Etc I think with content creation aot
37:59 lot of people have told me focus on
38:02 quality like filming quality videos I've
38:04 tested both but for me it's always been
38:06 consistency over quality when it comes
38:09 to like content creation right uh with
38:10 marketing marketing is everything in
38:12 your business uh if you don't Market
38:13 your business you can have an incredible
38:14 product but if you don't know how to
38:17 Market it who's going to purchase it so
38:19 the great thing about nowadays being in
38:21 social media it's free if I could post
38:24 20 per day I absolutely would and I will
38:27 but once I have a bigger team so gotta
38:29 follow-up question in terms of how you
38:30 work with Mom I know mom's quite
38:32 different in terms of what she focuses
38:34 on can you share anything maybe she's
38:35 more organized you're less organized
38:37 what's the dynamic like totally so it's
38:40 actually the opposite my mom's very
38:42 Scrappy but in a good way so she she's
38:44 very Scrappy in a way where she's like
38:46 just don't focus on being a
38:49 perfectionist because perfectionism
38:50 won't bring you success like Perfection
38:52 is the enemy of success it's something
38:55 that I still keep on constantly learning
38:57 cuz like you know as a human especially
38:59 as like women you always want to be
39:01 perfect in what you do everyone always
39:03 says don't be perfect don't be perfect
39:05 but a lot of times you want to have
39:07 things in line to then go into something
39:09 into a venture my mom's always like
39:11 don't wait for it to be perfect just do
39:14 it better do it than wait forever to to
39:16 put it out yeah I love it too but it's
39:18 it's very hard for me to learn what are
39:20 you spending every month on marketing
39:22 and what's your favorite platform
39:24 biggest best Roi I mean it always
39:27 depends but somewhere around six figures
39:30 uh with ad spend and then the favorite
39:32 platform that like performs the best is
39:34 Facebook Instagram are usually the top
39:36 platforms so out of all the platforms
39:38 and you said Facebook Instagram Tik Tok
39:41 which one do you think you'd love to
39:42 invest in more but you don't yet
39:44 currently because like Tik Tok that's
39:47 all organic right yeah Tik Tok is mostly
39:48 organic we do do a couple of paid
39:50 advertisements but they don't perform as
39:53 well advertisement world is a separate
39:56 world so it needs its own Statics it
39:59 needs its own videos uh usually with ads
40:03 with paid marketing it's more salesy so
40:05 it I think there needs to be a
40:07 separation between those two and the uh
40:09 the way that you make the videos and
40:11 make the make the media for them yep
40:14 quite different you mentioned uh over
40:16 and over the importance of knowing your
40:18 audience and for you that's gen zers
40:21 right or genen gen Z folks for those
40:22 watching who are non- jenzy people and
40:25 have a business what's your advice to
40:28 them to tap into that audience and speak
40:30 the language and sell and and provide
40:33 what they're looking for I think if you
40:35 have to do the videos yourself and
40:37 you're non gen Z then you have to be
40:40 super authentic and not try to be gen Z
40:41 because you're not and you're never
40:45 going to you're never going to like try
40:46 to do it in a successful way if you're
40:48 faking what you're actually like right
40:51 so if you're a boomer let's say then go
40:53 ahead like do try to fit in with the Gen
40:55 Z but do it in a funny way where you're
40:57 not forcing it right authentic is
41:00 everything and whenever I do have like
41:02 uh older people that are non gen Z come
41:04 up to me and be like okay can you please
41:05 teach teach me this Tik Tok thing like
41:07 what am I supposed to do I'm like just
41:09 hire someone you know if you're going to
41:11 be in a gen Z platform you're either
41:14 going to need gen Z or you're going to
41:16 have to be scrolling on Tik Tok and
41:18 knowing the trends and then getting used
41:20 to it so it it's definitely hard if
41:23 you're not Jen Z what's your typical day
41:25 look like today how do you structure it
41:27 currently I'm on that crazy 5: a.m.
41:30 schedule so I wake up at 5:00 a.m. I
41:33 have 1 hour to either journal to
41:37 meditate uh or to work out or to read as
41:39 well and then after that hour I get
41:42 ready once I get ready then I head to a
41:45 coffee shop and I just like get
41:47 everything the to-do list for the day
41:49 and then after 1 hour from the coffee
41:52 shop I head to the office from 9:00 a.m.
41:56 to 12:00 p.m. it's nothing no meetings
41:58 with anyone other than just purely
42:00 focusing on content creation then from
42:04 12: to 4:00 p.m. I have meetings SO
42:05 meetings at any time with any one of our
42:08 departments from that I go to the gym
42:10 for about an hour and a half 2 hours
42:13 from 400 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and then
42:15 after that I either go back to a coffee
42:17 shop to work more or I go home and I
42:20 still continue working usually and then
42:23 I stops it never stops and then at 8:00
42:24 p.m. is usually where I shut up
42:26 everything I read a book and then I had
42:28 to whenever I'm just tired with reading
42:31 a book so gotta the the the day in the
42:34 life of kada what's been the biggest
42:36 surprise for you in running a family
42:38 business I mean mom's involved and you
42:41 right does Dad do anything here or does
42:44 Dad helps a lot whenever we have any
42:45 issues with like machines or technical
42:47 things my dad usually comes in and helps
42:49 but he's not here fulltime and it's your
42:51 brother I forgot so it's you brother and
42:53 Mom that are fulltime here yeah my
42:54 brother's doing like the paid marketing
42:56 and he's doing all the finances my mom's
42:57 in produ
42:59 and operations and then I'm in marketing
43:01 and I also are I'm dipping my feet into
43:04 operations cuz I actually have it as a
43:06 passion gotta so what are the weird
43:08 awkward moments or good things as far as
43:10 family working together you guys make it
43:12 work pretty well we do I mean we've been
43:13 through a lot like we've built a
43:15 successful business together there's no
43:16 other way to do it right no one's going
43:18 to drop out we're all family like no
43:20 one's going to quit in a family business
43:22 at least that's our mindset to it so no
43:24 matter how many arguments we have no
43:26 matter how bad it could possibly get
43:28 work is work business is business and
43:30 it's not just any business it's family
43:32 and I think experience and time has I
43:34 think deepened our relationship a lot
43:37 it's all about respect as well what's
43:38 been the best business advice that you
43:41 received from parents there's been so
43:43 many I'm so lucky to have them but I
43:47 think one of them that I've learned is
43:50 pressure is privilege so to anyone who
43:54 is feeling burnt out or overwhelmed
43:55 every single time that you have that
43:57 feeling that means that you're growing
43:59 so you should honestly celebrate that
44:01 feeling rather than really be down about
44:03 it because even I know that if I'm
44:05 crying my eyes out which happens very
44:06 very frequently by the way but every
44:08 time that I'm going through that really
44:10 really low level in life I just remind
44:12 myself this is the point where I'm
44:15 breaking but that means it's because I'm
44:17 I'm growing I am growing and getting
44:20 used to more bandwidth if if that makes
44:22 sense if there's anyone that's pushing
44:24 you a lot and they're kind of like
44:26 overwhelming you in a way like I have my
44:27 mom all the time she's like K you have
44:30 to be doing this so that you can keep on
44:32 scaling in a way or whatever it might be
44:34 I know my mom personally does pressure
44:36 me a lot and I know and I've learned
44:38 personally that pressure is Cent so
44:40 awesome if you love this story make sure
