0:01 This is our content strategy in our
0:04 barber shop that generates us about 500
0:06 new clients per month. The shop
0:08 generates about 100k per month in
0:10 revenue. Obviously, I still have to pay
0:12 out the barbers and the rent. Last month
0:16 alone, we did 1,600 clients. This video
0:18 is about three strategies that we're
0:20 doing, and you can implement these
0:22 things right away into your barber shop.
0:23 Before we get into these strategies,
0:25 your skill set does not matter, your
0:27 location does not matter. These
0:30 strategies still scaled my shop to 100K
0:31 per month. All right, guys. What type of
0:35 content actually works in 2025? On my
0:38 Tik Tok, I had 30 videos hit more than 1
0:41 million views. I had one hit 13 million,
0:44 one hit 5 million, one hit 7 million.
0:45 You guys can check out my Tik Tok at
0:47 Alec Barbarrow and go with the most
0:50 popular. I did fall off and stop making
0:52 content because I'm not really focused
0:54 on cutting hair anymore. Either way,
0:55 just because my videos blew up doesn't
0:57 mean I was the only one that got busy.
0:59 I'm actually at a higher price point.
1:01 I'm at $60 per haircut, and most people
1:03 can't afford that. What happened was
1:05 people would just come to my shop and go
1:07 to other barbers. Just cuz I'm blowing
1:09 up on TikTok, people are uh wanting to
1:11 be in my barber shop. So, you can start
1:14 off u making content for yourself as a
1:16 barber shop owner. But, this is how I
1:18 came up with this strategy, actually.
1:21 So, you guys all know Deluxe. um he's
1:23 someone that's selling barbers on his
1:25 course. He sells it for a good amount,
1:27 but you know, I didn't want to invest in
1:29 his program. So, what I did was I
1:32 actually went to his students and I
1:33 stocked all of them. I was like, "What
1:35 are they doing that he's teaching that's
1:37 actually getting getting results?" If
1:39 you see those barbers actually getting
1:41 booked up at a higher price, his
1:42 works. And the best part of, you know,
1:44 content creation is that most people
1:46 will see it. It's public. You can see
1:48 their work. So, what I did was I stocked
1:50 all of them. I reverse engineered why is
1:52 it that their content is working. So I
1:54 just took the overall format of the
1:56 videos which is consultation. I got
1:58 asked the clients enough questions so
2:01 that viewers have some to react to and
2:03 then I showed the before and then I
2:06 showed the after. For me I prioritized
2:08 getting the content out. The more
2:10 editing that I had to do, the less
2:12 content I made. And for me the the stuff
2:14 that blew up, you know, I didn't really
2:16 put in a lot of um editing into it.
2:17 Literally, it took me 5 minutes to edit
2:19 these videos. I did that for about a
2:22 hundred videos, even more actually. Go
2:24 go go to my Tik Tok and look at my old
2:26 videos. It got to a point where every
2:28 single video that I was making was
2:30 getting over 100K views. And even now,
2:32 we still post videos like that and they
2:35 still generate new clients. With today's
2:37 um algorithm, everyone always wants to
2:39 see something new. And that's why
2:40 barbers always want to come up with a
2:43 new strategy with new type of content.
2:45 And that's why you guys get stuck with
2:47 planning and no content getting uh
2:50 pulled out. So, consultation before and
2:51 after. If you can only get one thing
2:54 from this video is start making
2:57 consultation videos before and after. No
2:59 editing needed. Get a nice mic. Go on
3:02 Amazon. It's like a 100 bucks. Those
3:04 will work. As a barber shop owner, you
3:06 got to have omniresence. In perspective,
3:08 like I said, we're generating 500 new
3:10 clients per month. You know, they see
3:12 your content and then when it comes to
3:13 getting a haircut, they might search you
3:15 up on Google. The whole goal is to just
3:17 make your first 100 videos because it's
3:19 just like working out, guys. You have to
3:21 first at least fall in love with going
3:23 to the gym because that's the most
3:25 important part. You guys can't optimize
3:27 your videos yet if you haven't gotten to
3:30 that 100 videos. As a barber shop owner,
3:33 get your first 100 videos out and then
3:34 talk to me. So, getting consistent
3:37 videos out might get tough. And most
3:40 barber shop owners want to cheap out on
3:41 this investment. They don't want to
3:43 invest money into more content.
3:45 Obviously, when you first post your 100
3:46 videos, you're going to start seeing
3:49 clients in the door. You'll start to see
3:51 for x amount of videos, you can get x
3:53 amount of clients. And then from there,
3:54 once you have a consistent flow of
3:56 clients, you can start investing in a
3:58 videographer. As a barber shop owner,
4:00 there's only one of you. So, we need to
4:03 either hire um a videographer or someone
4:05 that just makes sure that the content's
4:06 actually getting put out. So, I'm going
4:08 to tell you guys how I hired one.
4:10 Instead of telling you what to do, I'm
4:11 going to tell you what I did. One of my
4:14 barbers, Jat, he's in grade 12 and he
4:15 actually has a really good friend that's
4:18 also a videographer. He was using his
4:20 phone in the beginning actually because
4:22 for me, I don't care about quality of
4:25 the the camera. Most of my v viral
4:26 content was from my phone. Literally
4:28 just plugging in a DJI mic into the
4:31 phone and it got millions of views. I
4:32 literally showed them the videos that I
4:35 want uh using barbers that are
4:36 generating really good content. What
4:38 you're going to do is start with like 10
4:40 videos a week. I told him, "Yo, I'll pay
4:43 you 25 bucks per video. You come in once
4:46 or twice a week. You You bang out 10
4:48 videos. All I want is consultation
4:50 before and afters. No need to come up
4:52 with 10 different ideas. You can easily
4:53 bang them out cuz every haircut is a
4:56 possible content." So, he does that with
4:58 all of our barbers. And then you look at
5:00 the first 10. Videographers usually
5:02 don't know how to show off a haircut.
5:04 So, that's what you're going to watch
5:06 out for in his first 10. You literally
5:08 pinpoint, all right, with this video,
5:10 the before shot and the after shot
5:12 wasn't the same. The before, it needs to
5:14 transition to the after with the same
5:17 angle, so there's more emphasis on the
5:19 change. So, exact same angle from the
5:21 before shot to the after shot. And I
5:23 told him, use the ring light. At first,
5:24 he was kind of just getting his
5:26 cinematic angles, and I was like, bro,
5:28 we don't need all that. You just need to
5:29 show off the haircut. The type of
5:31 content you're making are super simple.
5:32 You can literally hire anyone for them.
5:34 You know, it could be a client making
5:36 content on their own and then every
5:38 single week you're literally going over
5:40 their their work and you're making it
5:41 better and better and then eventually
5:43 they're going to get to the same level
5:46 that you want. Pay them 250 bucks. Boom.
5:48 You got your 10 videos. Post them. Bro,
5:50 there's no need to be picky with your
5:52 content when you're not getting X amount
5:55 of clients. The most common thing that I
5:56 hear from barber shop owners, "Oh, we
5:58 got to make sure our quality is crazy
6:00 good." Guys, as long as clients are
6:02 coming in, you just got to keep posting
6:03 cuz the most important part of all this,
6:05 you can have all the strategies in
6:07 place. You can have all the planning in
6:09 place, but if the videos are not getting
6:11 done, the results will not show. All
6:14 right. So, another way we get more
6:16 content out. Let's say you don't want to
6:17 hire a videographer. The third technique
6:20 I do is compensation plan with my
6:22 barbers. So, I incentivize them with a
6:24 higher commission when they post more
6:27 content. Most common mistake I see with
6:29 barber shops is that they actually limit
6:31 their barbers for making content because
6:33 they're scared that the barbers are just
6:35 going to make content and build up their
6:37 clientele and then eventually leave.
6:39 Yes, that is a risk. The way I set up my
6:42 barber shop is that I have a business
6:44 model and a business plan that there is
6:47 a potential for growth even outside of
6:49 getting booked up. If you're scared of
6:50 letting your barbers make their own
6:52 content and marketing themselves, you
6:54 have a business model issue. That's a
6:56 whole different problem that we can
6:57 solve. It's going to be in a different
6:59 video. So, this is another way that
7:00 you're going to be able to make way more
7:02 content without spending more time on
7:05 content. How did I get my barbers to
7:08 make 1,200 videos for my barber shop?
7:10 So, I actually have a barber system, and
7:12 this is a system that I came up with
7:14 that every 50 videos that they make the
7:17 shop, they go up 1% in commission.
7:19 Everyone starts at 50/50 commission. If
7:21 you're a chair rental shop, this won't
7:23 work. You have to come up with like a
7:25 monthly challenge. You know, winner gets
7:27 maybe clippers or money. So, your
7:29 barbers are now making content. To
7:30 maintain a good quality, what you're
7:32 going to do is actually do a weekly
7:34 meeting. So, in our weekly meeting, we
7:36 always go over, okay, what content are
7:37 working? What content is actually
7:40 bringing in clients and which barbers
7:41 are bringing in new clients and then
7:44 asking them, okay, how do you think you
7:45 got so many new clients this week? This
7:47 is a good way to also build a really
7:50 good environment in your barber shop
7:52 when you're always meeting about, okay,
7:53 how can we get better with our content?
7:55 Oh, how are we getting new clients in
7:58 the barber shop every single week? Your
7:59 barbers are always just trying to get
8:01 better. Don't get too picky with your
8:03 quality of your content. Get a 100
8:06 videos done first with you as the owner
8:08 and also with the barbers. What I found
8:10 out with this tier system is, okay, they
8:12 do want to get that 1%, but they're
8:14 still stuck thinking of ideas. These
8:16 barbers actually worry about how other
8:18 barbers will see their content and judge
8:20 them. But at the end of the day, the
8:22 barbers that are getting the most new
8:23 clients are the barbers that don't give
8:25 a And they're the ones that made
8:27 the most videos. They're the ones
8:29 getting the most new clients. And
8:30 they're the ones that are actually
8:32 always top three. For example, I have a
8:34 barber that just moved here from
8:36 Winnipeg. So, a brand new city. He had
8:39 zero clients here. Now, he's averaging
8:43 about 50 plus clients per week. and he
8:46 actually made 200 videos already for the
8:48 barber shop. It shows the the amount of
8:49 videos correlates to the amount of
8:51 clients he gets. And that's because he
8:52 just fell in love with making the
8:54 content. It doesn't matter if he didn't
8:55 feel like it. It didn't matter if he's
8:58 busy. He just made the videos. You first
9:00 have to start making the content to get
9:02 others to make the content as well.
9:04 Setting by example. By the way, guys, my
9:06 name is Alec. If you didn't know
9:08 already, I help barber shop owners scale
9:10 their barber shops, even doubling their
