0:01 before you can start running Facebook
0:03 ads there's a couple of things we need
0:05 to set up first we need to create a
0:07 Facebook business page for our store and
0:09 then we need to create a Facebook
0:12 business manager account then inside of
0:14 that manager account we need to create a
0:17 Facebook ad account and then we need to
0:20 create a Facebook pixel a Facebook pixel
0:21 is simply a piece of code that we're
0:24 going to put on our store which is then
0:26 going to track all the activity that our
0:28 visitors are going to be doing on our
0:30 store which is then going to be the data
0:32 that we're going to use to optimize our
0:34 campaign so we can see exactly what
0:37 works and what doesn't work and then
0:38 once we have all this set up we can
0:41 start creating our campaign and set up
0:43 our ads alright so the first thing we
0:45 got to do is create our Facebook
0:48 business page so log into your Facebook
0:50 account and then here on the left side
0:51 where it says Pages we want to click here
0:52 here
0:54 and then we want to click on create a
0:55 new page
0:58 then we want to give our page a name so
1:00 this would just be our store name in my
1:04 case perfect paw apparel let's say store
1:06 and then we also have to decide on a
1:09 category so this would be let's say
1:11 clothing then here we can also put in a
1:13 description about our page and then
1:16 click on create page on the bottom left
1:18 and then here we do want to make sure to
1:20 fill in as much information as possible
1:23 for our Facebook page which will help us
1:25 keep our accounts our ad accounts
1:27 healthy and not get us banned when we
1:30 start running the first ads I'm gonna
1:32 skip this part for this video because I
1:34 do have a complete tutorial about how to
1:37 create your Facebook business page I'm
1:38 going to leave a link to this down below
1:40 in the description and I'm gonna just
1:42 skip through this real quick here and
1:43 I'm going to move on to the next step
1:46 now we have created our Facebook page
1:47 and we also need to create our Facebook
1:49 business manager or meta business
1:52 manager whatever you want to call it so
1:53 let's go to
1:55 business.facebook.com and then once
1:57 you're here click on create an account
2:00 then here we're going to type in our
2:03 business name and also an email address
2:06 then click on submit
2:07 now we are inside of the Facebook
2:10 business manager the next step is to
2:12 create our Facebook ad account so you
2:15 want to come over here to accounts and
2:18 then go to ad accounts
2:20 and then click on ADD and click on
2:24 create a new ad account
2:26 we're going to give our ad account a
2:28 name choose the currency and then click
2:30 on next
2:34 then choose my business click on create
2:36 and now we have to assign someone who
2:38 will manage this ad account in our
2:40 example it's just going to be ourselves
2:41 so we're going to choose our own
2:43 Facebook profile here and then we're
2:45 going to just do full control so we're
2:47 going to take this box and click on assign
2:49 assign
2:52 great now we've created our Facebook ads
2:54 account the next step is to create a
2:57 Facebook pixel and put that pixel on our
2:59 Shopify store so that Facebook can track
3:02 everything that our customers do on our
3:04 store so that they're actually able to
3:06 optimize who our ads will be shown to
3:09 this is absolutely essential if you want
3:11 to make sure you're able to optimize
3:14 your ads so let's go to data sources
3:18 down here and click on pixels
3:21 and then click on ADD
3:23 and then here you can change the name of
3:25 the pixel if you want to I'm just going
3:26 to leave it as it is and click on continue
3:28 continue
3:32 then let's click on setup pixel now
3:34 and then we have a couple of options on
3:35 how we can get the pixel on our store
3:38 the easiest one if you use Shopify is
3:40 just use this first option add code
3:42 using a partner integration so we're
3:44 going to choose this option and then
3:47 here because our store is on Shopify
3:49 we're going to choose Shopify
3:52 and now Facebook tells us to connect our
3:54 Shopify store to Facebook so we're gonna
3:57 need to go to our store to our Shopify
4:00 store here and start connecting our
4:03 Facebook account with Shopify so let's
4:05 go to online store and then go to preferences
4:07 preferences
4:09 and then we're going to scroll down to
4:12 where it says Facebook pixel here we're
4:14 going to click on set up Facebook
4:16 and this will redirect us to the page
4:18 where we can add the Facebook sales
4:21 channel so let's just click on ADD sales
4:23 channel here at the top
4:25 and now as we can see here on the left
4:27 side we have created a new sales channel
4:30 for our store which is Facebook now we
4:32 need to go through all these steps to
4:34 connect our Facebook account to this
4:41 then here we need to connect the
4:43 Facebook page that we have created
4:45 before so this would be perfect paw
4:47 Apparel Store
4:49 then click on connect
4:51 and then we need to connect a Facebook
4:53 business manager account that we have
4:55 also created before so I'm just going to
4:59 use this one here click on select
5:01 then connect
5:04 and then here Shopify is asking us how
5:06 much data they're allowed to share from
5:09 our store with Facebook now I would
5:11 recommend to choose maximum here because
5:13 that will allow Facebook to optimize
5:16 your ads better so I'm choosing maximum
5:19 here and then click on Save
5:21 and then here we want to connect the
5:22 Facebook pixel that we have just created
5:24 before which is going to be the source
5:27 of all the data from our store so let's
5:29 click on connect here
5:32 then we have to agree to the terms and
5:35 conditions and click on submit for review
5:36 review
5:39 so now you can see it says your shop is
5:41 in review however that is referring to
5:44 the shop on Facebook which is not
5:46 something we're setting up right now all
5:48 we want to do is be able to run ads to
5:50 our Shopify store and as you can see
5:53 here we are already able to run ads on
5:55 Facebook and Instagram because we have
5:57 now added the Facebook sales Channel and
5:59 installed the pixel
6:01 so we can now come back to our Facebook
6:04 business manager and move on with the
6:06 pixel setup process so we can now check
6:08 this box I've completed the setup on
6:11 Facebook and then click on next
6:14 then here we want to check if our pixel
6:16 is actually working so we're going to go
6:18 and get the URL of our website so we can
6:20 just go to our Shopify store go to
6:23 online store click on this icon here and
6:25 then just copy the URL from the top of
6:28 the browser then go back here to
6:30 Facebook and just paste in the URL click
6:33 on send test traffic
6:35 now sometimes it does take some time
6:37 until the pixel is active on your store
6:39 so if it doesn't show you that your
6:42 pixel is active right away don't worry
6:44 just come back in like 30 minutes and
6:46 then try again to send some test traffic
6:48 and see if the pixel is active and
6:50 eventually you should get to this page
6:52 where you can see that the pixel is
6:54 active then what you want to do is click
6:56 on next
6:59 then here let's click on finish
7:01 and now we want to connect our Facebook
7:03 account and also our Facebook ad account
7:05 to this pixel so we're going to click on
7:08 ADD people here at the top choose our
7:10 own Facebook account make sure we have
7:12 the full control over this pixel click
7:14 on assign
7:17 and done and then click on ADD assets
7:19 and then choose our Facebook ad account
7:22 here click on ADD
7:24 and done
7:26 and now to make sure our pixel works
7:29 properly we also need to verify our
7:32 domain so we need to go to Brand safety
7:36 here on the bottom left click on domains
7:39 then go to add and click on create a new domain
7:40 domain
7:43 then here we simply put in the domain of
7:46 our store and then click on ADD
7:48 and now we need to add this meta tag
7:50 which is basically just a piece of code
7:55 onto our HTML code of our store so all
7:57 we need to do is just copy by clicking
8:00 on this code right here then go back to
8:03 our Shopify store go to online store themes
8:05 themes
8:09 and then go to actions here click on
8:10 edit code
8:12 and then we want to go to theme liquid
8:14 here on the left side
8:17 now this looks quite confusing but just
8:19 don't freak out just follow what I'm
8:21 doing here all we need to do is just
8:23 paste in that code in the header section
8:26 so here as you can see the header starts
8:30 so we just click here click on enter so
8:32 we get a new paragraph then we just
8:35 paste in the code just like this and
8:37 then we click on Save that's all you
8:40 need to do to enter the code onto our
8:43 store and now we can go back to Facebook
8:46 and check if that actually works by
8:49 clicking on verify domain here
8:51 and there we go our domain is now
8:53 verified now sometimes it does take a
8:55 few minutes or even hours until the meta
8:57 tag is live and you can verify your
8:59 domain for me it only took like a minute
9:02 until I was able to um verify this
9:04 domain after I paste it in the code but
9:06 once you see that page here then you're
9:09 basically done verifying the domain
9:11 great now this domain has been verified
9:13 now another thing we need to do is also
9:17 verify our Shopify domain because now we
9:19 have verified our main domain that
9:21 people will see when they visit our
9:24 store now we also need to verify our
9:26 Shopify domain because when you go to
9:28 your Shopify dashboard go to settings
9:31 and then go to domains you can see
9:32 there's the domain that you have
9:34 assigned to your store the one we have
9:37 purchased and then also your Shopify
9:39 domain which is this one right here and
9:41 Facebook also wants us to verify this
9:44 domain so let's just copy this domain as
9:46 well then go back to the business
9:51 manager and click on domains then you're
9:53 gonna go to add domains again click on
9:56 create a new domain paste in the Shopify
9:59 domain click on ADD and then we just do
10:01 the same thing again so just copy the
10:06 code here go to our Shopify store so I'm
10:08 going to just show you again where it is
10:12 so online store or then themes actions
10:14 edit code
10:17 and then go to theme liquid and then
10:20 under the head as you can see here we
10:22 just click enter and then just paste in
10:24 the code for the second URL as well
10:26 click on Save
10:29 and then again wait like two minutes and
10:31 then we can come back to the business
10:35 manager here and click on verify domain
10:37 now if you're not able to verify your
10:40 Shopify domain for some reason what you
10:42 want to do is go to the Shopify
10:45 dashboard go to settings and then to
10:49 domains then click on your currently
10:51 used domain as the primary one for the store
10:52 store
10:55 and then under domain type you want to
10:58 set this domain as redirect so click
11:00 here set as redirect
11:03 and then once that's done you want to go
11:06 back to your business manager click on
11:08 verify again and then you should be able
11:10 to see this screen right here once
11:12 that's verified you can come back to
11:15 Shopify and set the other domain as
11:18 primary Again by clicking on this button
11:20 and now the next step is going to be to
11:23 tell Facebook what kind of customer
11:26 actions on our website should be tracked
11:28 so that we can then use that data to
11:31 optimize our ads and to do that we're
11:33 going to go to the three lines here all
11:37 tools and then go to events manager here
11:40 here let's click on manage prioritized events
11:41 events
11:43 and here we're going to set up our
11:45 events for both of these domains so
11:47 let's start with the first one here
11:50 click on manage events then click on
11:52 edit and now we can add up to eight
11:55 different events and prioritize them as
11:57 well so we need to tell Facebook what is
11:59 the most important event that we want to
12:01 track on our site so the most important
12:03 event would be to it would be a purchase
12:06 a conversion on our store so let's first
12:09 choose the pixel here that is tracking
12:10 all the events which would be this one
12:12 that we have already installed and then
12:15 we're going to choose the event name so
12:18 this would be purchase right here
12:20 and then we're going to choose another
12:23 event so choose the same pixel and we're
12:27 going to use initiate checkout here
12:30 and then add another one same pixel this
12:33 one is going to be add to cart and then
12:37 another event which is going to be view
12:39 content right here
12:41 so again these are going to be the
12:44 events the actions that people do on our
12:47 website so that we can use that data to
12:50 optimize our campaign the event of a
12:52 purchase has the highest priority
12:54 because eventually that's our goal to
12:56 get people on our store and purchase our
12:58 products and then we have initiate
13:01 checkout add to cart and view content so
13:03 it's basically the customer Journey from
13:05 getting to our store to buying something
13:07 first somebody views a product and then
13:09 they add it to the card then they
13:11 initiate checkout and then they purchase
13:13 the product so let's click on apply and
13:17 save the changes confirm and apply and
13:19 then we're gonna do the exact same thing
13:21 for the other domain as well so just
13:25 manage events edit and then add all the
13:27 all the four events based on the
13:29 priority here as well as we've just done
13:32 before when that's done click on apply
13:34 confirm apply
13:36 and now we actually want to go and check
13:38 if all the events that we have just set
13:40 up for this pixel are working on our
13:43 store so let's go back to the events
13:46 manager and then here we make sure our
13:48 current pixel is selected and then we go
13:51 to test events then here we just choose
13:54 the URL of our store and then click on
13:55 open website
13:58 and now we are a new visitor on our
14:00 website so the Facebook pixel should
14:02 already have been triggered so we can
14:04 now go back to the events manager and
14:06 under test events we can see we have a
14:10 new page view so our pixel is in fact
14:13 working so now let's go back to the page
14:16 again and then maybe click on t-shirts
14:18 here and then click on one of the products
14:19 products
14:22 and now again we go back to the events
14:25 manager and see what pixel event has
14:28 been firing so we have two page views
14:30 and then one content view which
14:32 represents somebody looking at one of
14:35 our products and now we can also just
14:38 click on add to cart here
14:40 and now when we go back to the events
14:43 manager we can see the the add to cart
14:46 event has also been fired so the idea is
14:48 to just go through the entire checkout
14:51 process and see if all the events are
14:53 working now you don't actually need to
14:54 go ahead and buy your own product just
14:56 to see if the purchase event is working
14:58 because you're going to notice on your
15:00 store if you get a sale anyway and if
15:02 you don't see it on Facebook then you
15:04 know that the purchase event is not
15:07 working okay so hopefully you were able
15:09 to follow along here I know doing all
15:10 this for the first time can seem quite
15:13 of confusing however once this is all
15:15 set up we can now finally create our
15:17 first Facebook ads campaign let's get
15:19 started so inside of the Facebook
15:21 business manager to create our first
15:24 campaign we're gonna go to all tools and
15:28 then to the ads manager the Facebook ads
15:30 manager is where we're gonna create and
15:32 manage all of our Facebook ad campaigns
15:34 now before we go ahead and create our
15:36 first Facebook ad campaign we're going
15:39 to first go to account overview here on
15:40 the left side and make sure we have
15:43 completed all the steps so we can run
15:45 ads so the first thing we need to do
15:47 here is just to confirm the Facebook
15:49 page that we want to use to run our ads
15:51 with because with every ad it's going to
15:55 show our Facebook page as uh the company
15:57 that is running that specific ad so
15:58 we're going to confirm the page here
15:59 this is the one that we've created
16:02 before in the video and then we also
16:04 need to add a payment method because
16:06 obviously we are running paid ads so
16:09 obviously Facebook wants to get paid for
16:11 showing our ads so let's click on ADD
16:14 payment method and when that's done we
16:15 are ready to create our first campaign
16:19 so let's go back to our campaigns here
16:22 and then click on create on the top left
16:25 to start our campaign the first thing we
16:27 have to set in our campaign is the
16:30 campaign objective and because we are an
16:31 e-commerce store and we want to sell
16:33 products online we're going to choose
16:36 sales right here so that is going to be
16:38 our objective to get sales on our store
16:41 then let's click on continue
16:43 here we have to give our campaign a name
16:46 so I'm just going to name this pod store one
16:47 one
16:49 and that's all we want to do for the
16:51 campaign level for now we can now move
16:53 on to the first ad set so you can either
16:56 click on next at the bottom right or you
16:58 can just directly click on new sales ad
17:00 set here and we're going to name the ad
17:02 set after the interest that we want to
17:05 Target with the ads in this specific ad
17:07 set but as we haven't chosen the
17:09 interest yet to Target we're just going
17:11 to leave the name as it is for now and
17:12 later on we're going to come back and
17:15 change the name so let's move on to
17:17 conversions here we're just going to
17:19 leave it at website because we want to
17:22 get conversions on our website and then
17:25 because I only have one pixel the pixel
17:26 is already here but if you have multiple
17:29 pixels then you make sure to choose your
17:31 correct pixel here the pixel that is on
17:34 your Shopify store and then for
17:36 conversion event we're going to choose
17:39 purchase because we want to optimize our
17:42 ads for purchase if you want people to
17:45 buy our products on our store so we want
17:48 to set purchase as a conversion event
17:51 then let's move on to budget and
17:54 schedule I'm going to set the budget to
17:57 ten dollars per day and then change the
18:01 start date to midnight the next day so
18:04 I'm gonna just do 12 p.m I'm not going
18:06 to set an end date because we are
18:09 monitoring our ads every single day and
18:11 we're going to kill our ads anyway if
18:12 they don't work so I'm not going to set
18:15 an end date for this ad set let's move
18:18 on to audience here we're going to start
18:20 by narrowing down the location that our
18:23 ads should show up in so by default it
18:24 is set to your own country I want to
18:26 change this so I'm just going to delete
18:28 it here and then here we can simply type
18:30 in the country that we want to Target
18:32 with our ads so let's say we want to
18:34 Target the United States I would just
18:36 simply type in USA and then choose that
18:39 Target country you can also add more
18:41 countries and locations if you want to
18:43 I'm just going to stick with the US for
18:46 now then we can move on to age now this
18:48 really depends ends on the niche you are
18:51 trying to Target here the niche of your
18:53 store so if you have a niche where
18:55 there's probably more an older
18:57 demographic then you want to change the
19:00 age accordingly here I usually just
19:03 change this to 21 because people who are
19:05 a bit older they have more disposable
19:08 income that they can actually spend on
19:11 products then we can also have a change
19:12 to genders I'm just going to leave it at
19:15 all genders for now and now we get to
19:17 the most important part of this ad setup
19:21 which is the detailed targeting so with
19:22 the detail targeting we are able to
19:24 narrow down the audience that might be
19:26 interested in the products that we want
19:28 to sell so for example here I'm
19:31 advertising a store that sells apparel
19:33 for dog lovers so I would just type in
19:36 something like dog and then see if
19:38 there's an interest for that specific
19:41 keyword and as we can see there's dogs
19:45 animals which is perfect and this
19:47 interest has around about 5 500 million
19:51 people inside of that audience so
19:53 there's definitely enough room to scale
19:56 if I can see that the ads work well with
19:59 this specific interest so I'm going to
20:01 choose dogs right here and we're just
20:04 going to test one interest at a time so
20:05 I'm not going to add anything more here
20:08 under detailed targeting so now we can
20:11 actually scroll up to the ad set name
20:14 and then change the name to the interest
20:16 that we have just decided to go with so
20:18 dogs animals
20:21 and then we can scroll back down and
20:25 move on with the settings for languages
20:27 here because my store is in English I'm
20:30 just gonna choose English here if you
20:33 are selling obviously in Spain for
20:35 example then you want to choose Spanish
20:37 then placements we're going to keep this
20:40 at Advantage Plus placements that's
20:42 everything we're going to do for the ad
20:46 set now let's move on to the ad
20:48 so here is where we're going to create
20:51 the ad that people are going to see so
20:52 the first thing is going to be the ad
20:54 name I'm just going to name this ad
20:56 number one and then we're going to
20:58 choose the Facebook page that this ad
20:59 will be from so this is just going to be
21:01 the one that we have created before here
21:04 then we're going to go to add setup Now
21:07 by default it has selected catalog if
21:08 you choose catalog it will just take
21:10 products from your store and then show
21:13 them to Facebook users what I want to do
21:16 here is just create my own ad creative
21:19 when people say creative in advertising
21:21 what they just mean is the media that
21:23 people see in the ad so this could this
21:25 could be a video or this could be an
21:28 image so I'm going to do manual upload
21:31 here and then upload my own creative and
21:33 to keep things as simple as possible
21:36 we're just going to use a single image
21:39 ad so no video no Carousel post just a
21:41 single image and now I'm going to
21:43 quickly show you how to easily create a
21:46 professional Facebook ad using canva so
21:49 let's head over to canva.com again I'm
21:50 going to leave the link Down Below in
21:53 the description for this tool so log
21:54 into your canva account and then let's
21:57 click on create a design at the top
22:00 right let's do a custom size and make
22:03 this a thousand times a thousand pixels
22:05 so it's going to be a square Dimension
22:08 and let's click on create new design and
22:10 then what I like to do is just check out
22:13 all the templates that canva already has
22:15 about exactly what I'm going to create
22:17 so let's say I want to advertise the
22:19 hoodie on my store with this Facebook ad
22:23 that I would just type in hoodie and
22:26 then add or Facebook ad even
22:27 and then see what kind of templates come
22:31 up so here I have a whole library of
22:33 different templates that I can use for
22:35 this ad and pretty much all of them look
22:36 quite professional there's also video
22:38 templates so you can also create videos
22:42 ads with canva so let's just take this
22:44 first one kind of as a starting point to
22:47 create our ad then I'm just going to
22:48 delete all the elements that I don't
22:50 want to have in my ad so I'm just going
22:52 to leave a delete the text here delete
22:55 this one as well delete that and
22:57 obviously also delete these products here
22:58 here
22:59 and then I'm also going to delete the
23:01 banner here and I'm going to keep the
23:03 text and then I'm going to put my
23:05 product here in the center of the ad and
23:07 now to get an image of my product I'm
23:10 going to Simply go to my Shopify store
23:12 actually visit my store here under
23:15 online store preview and then I'm going
23:16 to go to the product that I want to
23:17 advertise so it's going to be this
23:19 hoodie right here I'm just going to go
23:21 to the product page then I'm going to
23:23 click on the image and then I'm just
23:25 going to save this image right here so
23:26 I'm just going to right click and then
23:28 click on save image and then just save
23:32 this image to the desktop then I'm going
23:35 to go back to canva and then just drag
23:37 in the image that I've just downloaded
23:39 into the canvas and now as you can see
23:42 we still have the white background the
23:44 cool thing about canva is they do have a
23:45 tool that can automatically remove the
23:48 background all we need to do is click on
23:50 edit image here and then go to
23:52 background remover
23:54 and that will automatically remove the
23:56 background of this image what I also
24:00 like to do is go back to the image click
24:04 on edit image and then go to shadows and
24:07 add a drop shadow just like this and
24:09 then I'm also going to change the text
24:11 to our offer the current offer that I'm
24:13 going to be advertising is just that
24:16 this item will be 50 off so I'm going to
24:19 type in 50 off
24:22 and then I'm going to change the second
24:26 text to today only make sure everything
24:28 is centered and then I'm also going to
24:31 add a background to this text here so
24:34 let's go to effects then go to
24:36 background and then change the color
24:40 here to the same color as the hoodie so
24:42 let's just pick any color here
24:44 like this and then maybe I think this
24:47 text isn't really readable as nicely as
24:49 this one so let's just also go to
24:52 um effects here and then just change the
24:54 style of this text so we can just play
24:56 around with it here so maybe let's just
24:58 take this one and there we go this is
24:59 going to be the ad that I'm going to
25:02 test with this campaign so let's go and
25:04 download the image by going to share and
25:08 then download and click on download now
25:10 let's go back to the Facebook ads
25:13 manager then let's scroll down to add
25:15 creative and add our image by clicking
25:18 on ADD media add image
25:20 and then I'm just going to drag in the
25:21 image that we have just downloaded from
25:26 canva click on next then again next
25:28 for this ad I'm going to deselect allow
25:31 enhancements and click on done
25:33 now let's also turn on the add preview
25:36 so we can see exactly how our ad looks
25:38 like as we are working on our ad
25:41 then let's move on to primary text this
25:44 is going to be what's displayed above
25:46 our creative so here I would just enter
25:49 something that is relatable to the
25:51 customer and also maybe add some call to
25:54 action so I'm just going to put in Do
25:56 You Love Dogs share your love with dogs
25:58 with everyone you meet in this hoodie
26:00 and then we're going to add also a
26:04 headline this I would just add your your
26:06 brand name or your store name so this
26:09 would be perfect paw apparel
26:13 uh for this example and then for the
26:14 description we're just going to add our
26:17 offer now with offers you could you can
26:19 get very creative so here you can see
26:22 the offer is just 50 off only today so
26:25 kind of a sale offer what you can also
26:27 do is buy one get one free or buy one
26:30 get the second one for 50 off you can
26:33 get very very creative and um the offer
26:35 is really something that is a big factor
26:38 in terms of how a good conversion rate
26:40 is going to be with your ad so I'm just
26:45 going to type in 50 off uh only today
26:48 I'm adding the only today to also add a
26:50 sense of urgency when people see this ad
26:52 which should also improve my conversion
26:55 rates then we're going to move on to
26:57 call to action this is going to be
26:59 what's displayed on the button on the ad
27:01 so we're going to change this from learn
27:05 more to shop now which is right here
27:07 because this is the button that makes
27:11 the most sense for this ad ad and then
27:13 we're going to move on to destination so
27:15 here we want to just put the product
27:18 page for this specific product that
27:20 we're advertising here to get the URL of
27:22 our product page we're going to go to
27:24 our Shopify store go to products and
27:26 then look for the product that we are
27:28 advertising in this case this would be
27:30 the dog life hoodie we just click on the
27:32 product page and then we're going to
27:35 scroll all the way down and then we can
27:37 see the URL right here so I'm just going
27:40 to copy the URL here copy go back to
27:44 Facebook and then paste in the URL in
27:46 this field and we can check the landing
27:48 page by clicking on preview URL and then
27:50 we can see exactly what the landing page
27:52 is going to be now here as you can see
27:55 the price is 59 for this product and we
27:58 don't see anything that says 50 off also
28:01 in the header it doesn't say 50 off so
28:02 what I would do here is to make sure
28:05 everything is congruent with the ad I
28:06 would actually go to my Shopify store
28:09 and then I want to add a compare price
28:10 to this product so it will actually
28:14 display a 50 sale so I'm going to go to
28:17 edit open bulk editor and then here we
28:19 can see the price of this hoodie so here
28:21 we just have to add the compare price as
28:24 well so this would be 119 and then just
28:28 copy this for all the other prices as
28:30 well and now when we go back and check
28:33 out the product page we should be able
28:35 to see the sale here right here and we
28:38 can see the previous price and the
28:40 actual price right now what we can also
28:42 do is add the banner here at the top so
28:45 we would just go to Shopify again go to
28:47 the dashboard then go to online store
28:51 themes click on customize and then we
28:52 just click on the header here and we can
28:57 change the text to 50 off only today
29:00 just like that and now we have also the
29:02 sale announcement here at the top of our
29:05 page great so now we have created our
29:08 first Facebook ad what we can do now is
29:10 create more ads Within in this ad set
29:13 that is targeting dog animals all we
29:14 would have to do here is go to the three
29:17 dots go to duplicate and then we can
29:19 tell Facebook how many times we want to
29:22 duplicate this ad so let's just say we
29:24 want to duplicate it once then go to
29:26 duplicate and then here we can change
29:28 the creative so we can create another
29:31 image we can create a video we can also
29:33 do a carousel ad so the more ads that
29:35 you're going to be testing for your
29:36 products the higher the chances that
29:38 you're going to actually find an ad that
29:40 will perform the best and actually make
29:42 you the most money but for now I'm just
29:44 going to keep it simple and just stick
29:46 with this image ad so I'm going to
29:49 delete this other AD again and then the
29:51 next thing that I want to do is I also
29:53 want to Target some other interests
29:55 because the goal is to find the
29:56 interests that are the most profitable
29:59 for this product so what I would do is
30:02 just copy the ad set so I'll just go to
30:05 the three dots here click on duplicate
30:08 and then we duplicated let's say five
30:11 times click on duplicate and now the
30:13 only thing that we want to change for
30:15 the new ad sets that we have created is
30:17 the detail targeting so the interest
30:19 that we are targeting so let's click on
30:22 the first one here scroll down to a
30:24 detailed targeting and then here we can
30:26 just again type in any keyword related
30:29 to our product or our Niche that we are
30:31 targeting so let's again just go with
30:34 dog or we can just click on suggestions
30:35 and then it will just give you
30:37 suggestions based on the first interest
30:39 that we have been targeting here with
30:42 the first ad set so let's scroll down
30:44 and maybe let's also try and Target
30:46 puppies this would also be an interest
30:49 that definitely is related to the
30:51 products on that store then we also want
30:54 to delete the the original interest here
30:56 so we only targeted one interest at a
30:58 time and now we also want to change the
31:00 name so we know exactly what interest
31:02 that ad set is targeting so we're gonna
31:05 scroll up again and then change the the
31:07 name to to puppies
31:09 and then we're going to do the same
31:11 thing with the next ad set and so on
31:13 until you have different interests for
31:15 all the different ad sets and that's all
31:16 we're going to do for our first campaign
31:18 so let's click on publish at the bottom right
31:20 right
31:22 in our ads manager we can now see all
31:24 the details about our campaign that we
31:27 have just set up so under the campaigns
31:29 tab we can see this is our campaign that
31:31 we have set up we can also click on the
31:33 campaign then it will automatically
31:35 switch from the campaigns tab to the ad
31:37 sets Tab and then we can see all the
31:39 different ad sets each ad set targeting
31:41 a different interest and then when we
31:43 click on each of these ad sets we go to
31:45 the ad so this would be the third tab
31:48 here in the ads manager and as you can
31:51 see here we can turn off each ad we can
31:54 turn off a single ad set and so on but
31:56 in order for us to know which ad sets to
31:59 turn off or to scale we need to set up
32:01 our columns here at the top so we can
32:03 actually see all the data that we need
32:05 to see to be able to make decisions so
32:07 to set up our columns correctly we're
32:09 going to go to columns and then click on
32:11 customize columns
32:13 so I've just quickly set up my columns
32:15 just like this the way you can see here
32:17 on the right side now I'm just going to
32:19 scroll through it slowly so I can just
32:29 to find the right metrics you can just
32:31 type in for example row as right here
32:33 and then you're going to find all the
32:35 the right metrics to put in the columns
32:37 once you've set up the columns just like
32:39 this we're going to go to save as preset
32:41 here on the bottom give it a name so
32:44 let's say default and then click on apply
32:45 apply
32:47 now let's quickly go through each of the
32:49 columns to make sure we understand what
32:51 everything means let's start with
32:53 results so that's basically what we have
32:55 set as a result for this campaign which
32:58 is sales so how many sales has this ad
33:00 set made then we have reach and
33:03 Impressions this basically shows us how
33:06 many people have seen this ad in the
33:08 news feed then cost per result is how
33:11 much money we have spent to get one sale
33:13 then we have CPM which stands for cost
33:16 per mil this is how much it costs us to
33:18 get our ad in front of a thousand people
33:21 so a thousand Impressions then we have
33:22 unique CTR which stands for
33:24 click-through rate so if you have 100
33:27 Impressions and we have let's say two
33:29 clicks from those one 200 100
33:31 Impressions then we have a two percent
33:34 click-through rate so the the clicks
33:36 divided by the number of Impressions
33:39 then we have cost per unique link click
33:41 so how much are we paying for every
33:43 single click how many clicks have we
33:46 gotten so unique link clicks the content
33:49 views how many people have actually seen
33:51 our product page then we have add two
33:53 cards how many people have added the
33:55 product to the cart initiated checkouts
33:57 how many people have clicked on checkout
33:59 and then purchases how many people have
34:01 actually bought the product and went
34:04 through uh with the the funnel basically
34:06 then for add to cart checkout and
34:09 purchases we also have the cost so cost
34:11 per add to Cart cost per initiated
34:13 checkout and cost per purchase shows us
34:16 how much we are paying on average for a
34:18 single add to cart action initiative
34:20 checkout action or purchase and then at
34:22 the end we have purchase rowas rowa
34:25 stands for return on ad spend so if you
34:28 have a row as of let's say two then for
34:31 every hundred dollars we spend on ads we
34:34 get 200 back so now how do we actually
34:36 read the data that we'll be getting here
34:39 for these columns and how do we make
34:41 decisions based on the data that we see
34:43 let me just give you a couple of the
34:46 basics so let's start with you unique
34:48 CTR and CPC so click-through rate and
34:51 cost per link click if you get a very
34:53 low CTR let's say around one percent and
34:55 a very high cost per click that usually
34:58 means that there's not that much demand
34:59 for the product that you're advertising
35:02 so it could also be your creative so you
35:03 can try and
35:05 um and try and advertise some some other
35:08 creatives about the same product but a
35:10 lot of the time it's time to move on to
35:13 another product because obviously people
35:15 are not responding to the product that
35:18 you're advertising now if you do get a
35:20 decent click-through rate and cost per
35:22 unique link click and we get a lot of
35:23 content views so people go to our
35:26 product page but we don't all get a lot
35:28 of add to cards that usually means that
35:30 we have to change something on our
35:32 landing page because obviously people
35:34 are visiting our landing page because
35:36 they are interested in what we are
35:39 advertising but then they decide to not
35:41 follow through with adding the product
35:44 to the card and and do the purchase so
35:46 we have to change up our off offer so
35:48 this could be the price this could be
35:51 maybe a creative way on how to price
35:54 your products like giving bundle offers
35:56 giving buy one get one free and all and
35:57 all that
35:59 um kind of stuff so you have to
36:01 experience with your landing page and
36:04 also sometimes you have to just up the
36:06 quality add some more Trust on your
36:07 landing page like maybe give a money
36:10 back guarantee and just experiment with
36:14 those uh things and then if we do get a
36:16 lot of add to cards but we don't get any
36:19 checkouts or purchases that means a lot
36:20 of the time that people are interested
36:22 they add the product to the card so they
36:24 want to buy it but then at the checkout
36:27 they decide to not follow through with
36:30 the purchase so what that could mean is
36:32 that maybe the shipping cost is too high
36:34 that they weren't expecting or maybe
36:35 something is off in your funnel
36:38 sometimes even your funnel doesn't work
36:40 so something is there's an error or
36:42 something on your checkout page so you
36:43 want to go back to your store and make
36:45 sure everything works perfectly and
36:47 maybe also play around with the shipping
36:50 price maybe also offer free shipping to
36:53 to see if then people are willing to buy
36:55 your product now let's say we've been
36:57 running our ads for a day or two and now
36:58 we have some data in our account that we
37:01 can work with and optimize our ads what
37:03 we would do here is just look at what ad
37:06 set is performing the best here in this
37:08 campaign so let's say for the top one
37:10 the golden retriever ad set we have some
37:13 a good CTR we have some add to cards and
37:15 maybe even some purchases and let's say
37:17 the other three here at the bottom are
37:20 performing very poorly what we would do
37:23 here is just turn these ad sets off and
37:25 then we're going to use the other assets
37:27 that are performing well kind of as a
37:30 basis to find more interest groups so
37:31 what we would do here let's say this is
37:33 the best performing ad set is click on
37:36 duplicate and then we just let's say we
37:39 do three more ad sets click on duplicate here
37:41 here
37:43 and then what we're going to do is we're
37:44 going to click on each of the new ad
37:48 sets scroll down to where it says detail
37:49 targeting and then we're going to click
37:53 on suggestions and find more
37:55 um more interest that are related to the
37:58 interest that is already working well so
37:59 let's say golden retrievers is working
38:03 well then obviously uh dog races so dog
38:05 types are working quite well for this
38:07 campaign so what we would do here is
38:09 just try different dog breeds so let's
38:13 try German Shepherd here and then for
38:17 the next one we're gonna go with
38:20 um let's say French Bulldog and again
38:22 you just want to go with one interest at
38:24 a time so I'm going to delete the golden
38:26 retriever here and then for the third
38:29 one we're gonna go with let's say
38:32 Rottweiler again delete the golden
38:33 retriever and then we just want to keep
38:36 doing that so turn off all the ad sets
38:37 with the interest that are not working
38:40 well and find new interests with the ad
38:43 sets that are already working well I
