0:45 application we won't spend too much time

0:50 short if the applicant who's the person
0:52 that will need a visa to stay in the UK
0:54 does not have any UK visas they'll be
0:57 making an outof country application it
0:59 is only those already in the UK on
1:01 certain visas who can make the
1:04 application from inside the UK so common
1:05 visas that allow making an Inc country
1:07 application include UK spouse and
1:10 partner visas UK fiance or propos or
1:13 partnership visas tier one visas tier 2
1:15 visas or skilled worker visas tier four
1:18 or long-term student or graduate visas
1:20 tier five visas including youth Mobility
1:22 scheme visas the current standard UK
1:26 spouse visa fee in 2025 is £
1:28 1,258 for applications made from inside
1:31 the UK and approximately £
1:34 1,846 for applications made from outside
1:36 the UK these two figures here are the
1:39 cost per person applying so if you have
1:41 dependent children applying for a Visa
1:43 at the same time as their parent you'll
1:44 need to pay the same fee for the home
1:47 office to process their visa as shown in
1:49 this table the fee only needs to be paid
1:51 for dependent children applying
1:53 therefore if you have British or Irish
1:55 children or children who have already
1:57 have settled status in the UK or
1:58 children who be staying in their
2:00 overseas home country you will not have
2:02 to pay the fees in relation to them
2:04 including the immigration Health search
2:05 charge which we will also discuss in
2:07 this video if you want the application
2:09 to be process quicker than the standard
2:11 processing time there's normally an
2:13 option to pay for a priority service we
2:15 discuss the various processing times and
2:16 numerous frequently asked questions
2:18 about the processing times on our
2:21 website migrate org.uk but in summary
2:23 the standard processing time is up to 12
2:25 weeks for out of country applications
2:27 and up to 8 weeks for in country
2:29 applications the super priority service
2:31 is normally available for in-country

3:23 focus on costs so when will you have to
3:25 pay the home office fee and the priority
3:27 or super priority service if you choose
3:29 to opt for that as we discussed our UK
3:31 case spous fees of process and timeline
3:33 video first you will have to answer the
3:35 many questions in the online application
3:37 form second you'll have to pay the
3:39 immigration Health search charge which
3:41 we will also discuss shortly once the
3:42 immigration Health search charge has
3:44 been paid you will then automatically be
3:46 redirected to the home office
3:48 application fee payment page if you're
3:50 making an out of country application
3:52 it's currently the case that only the
3:53 standard home office fee will be listed
3:55 here if you want to pay for the priority
3:57 service for an out of country
3:58 application you will first have to pay
4:00 the standard home office fee you will
4:02 then be redirected to the VFS website
4:04 where the priority service fee can be
4:07 paid if available the priority service
4:09 fee can normally be purchased up to the
4:10 time of the appointment and it can
4:13 normally be paid for at the visa center
4:15 appointment for in-country applications
4:17 you will first have to complete the
4:18 online application form pay the
4:20 immigration Health sirch charge and then
4:21 you'll be sent to the home office
4:23 application fee payment page the
4:25 standard home office fee will always be
4:28 listed here the super priority fee will
4:30 also be listed on the same page when
4:32 available please note that the Super
4:34 priy Service can only be purchased when
4:36 you reach this page on the online
4:38 application form it cannot be purchased
4:40 on the TLs website which will be
4:42 redirected to after submitting the
4:43 application by paying the home office
4:46 fees on the online application form so
4:48 if the expiry date of the Visa permits
4:49 if you want to opt for the super
4:52 priority service but it is not showing
4:53 when you first reach this page we would
4:55 suggest keep on checking this page
4:57 throughout the day particularly in the
4:58 early morning to purchase the super
5:01 priority service a hidden cost to be
5:02 aware of is that the home office fee and
5:04 the immigration Health sech charge for
5:06 outof Country applications are rarely
5:08 charged in British Pounds rather the
5:11 fees will likely be listed in USD Euros
5:13 or another currency depending on the
5:14 country in which the applicant is
5:16 applying more significantly the exchange
5:18 rate used by the home office can lead to
5:21 Partners sometimes paying up to 5% more
5:23 or less than the rate seen on Google or
5:25 other popular exchange rate platforms
5:27 when paying in an overseas currency
5:28 furthermore for out of country
5:30 applications depending on the account
5:32 type for the card used for payment you
5:34 may also have to incur an additional
5:36 foreign currency conversion fee in
5:38 contrast in country applications are
5:40 always charged in British Pounds the
5:42 date the spouse visa fee is paid is
5:45 significant for both out of country and
5:47 in the country applications the
5:48 requirements must be met on the date
5:50 that the visa fee is paid in the
5:52 immigration rules and the online
5:54 application this is referred to as the
5:56 date of application for example the

6:20 issued firstly the home office fee will
6:22 unfortunately not be refunded for
6:25 refused applications secondly if the
6:27 application is withdrawn before the
6:29 applicant attends the visa center a
6:31 refund of the home office fee will be
6:33 issued in such a case if you paid for
6:35 the priority or super priority service
6:37 you should email this email address here
6:39 to request a refund as these refunds are
6:42 not automatically issued and thirdly if
6:44 the application is withdrawn after the
6:46 applicant attends the visa center a
6:48 refund will not normally be issued what
6:50 if you paid the priority fee for an
6:52 outof country application and the
6:54 application was not decided within 30
6:56 working days or if you paid the super
6:57 priority fee for an in country
6:59 application and the application was not
7:01 decided by the end of the next working
7:03 day whether a refund of the priority or
7:05 super priority fee can be issued or not
7:07 depends on the reason for taking as long
7:09 as it did you will not normally get a
7:12 refund if you did not get a decision in
7:13 time because the home office needed more
7:15 information or evidence to make a
7:18 decision you may get a refund if they
7:20 could not give you a decision in time
7:21 because of something outside of their
7:24 control for example a technical problem
7:26 let's now discuss the immigration Health
7:28 search charge unfortunately the fact
7:30 that either the app an or sponsor has
7:33 already paid thousands in UK taxes does
7:35 not exempt them from paying this fee it
7:37 must still be paid for out of country
7:40 applications the IHS will cost £
7:43 3,15 whil as for in country applications
7:44 it will cost £
7:47 2,587 and 50 just like the home office
7:50 fee the IHS must also be paid for each
7:51 dependent child included in the
7:54 application additionally it's also
7:56 important to note that the entire ihsv
7:59 must be paid up front you cannot pay in
8:01 monthly or yearly installments so when
8:03 combined with the standard home office
8:05 fee the minimum total cost for an outof
8:07 country application will be
8:10 4,951 and £
8:13 3,845 50 for an in-country application I
8:15 say minimum because there are some
8:17 additional minor costs which we'll
8:19 discuss in this video the payment for
8:20 the immigration Health search charge is
8:22 made during the online application
8:25 process for both out of country and in
8:27 country applications the IHS is paid
8:29 before the home office fee using a
8:31 credit or debit card there are two
8:33 additional points worth noting here
8:35 firstly outof country fiance visa
8:38 applicants do not have to pay the IHS
8:40 for the fiance visa application however
8:42 they must pay the immigration Health
8:44 sech charge for the subsequent flrm
8:46 application which they'll need to submit
8:47 before their six-month fiance visa
8:50 expires and secondly the IHS will be
8:53 refunded if a partner visa application
8:55 is refused or withdrawn even if the
8:56 applicant attended the biometric
8:58 appointment now let's move on to discuss
9:01 the other more minor costs associated
9:02 with the application that Partners may
9:05 not initially be aware of one secure
9:08 English language test costs the cost for
9:10 the secure English language tests vary
9:11 depending on the country the test is
9:14 taken but typically range between 120
9:16 and 200 pounds there are quite a few
9:18 questionable third-party websites that
9:20 claim to provide secure English language
9:22 tests but are not home office approved
9:25 providers they often charge a markup
9:27 essentially making you pay an extra £50
9:28 or so just to book the appointment for
9:31 you to avoid this I'd strongly recommend
9:32 booking your test only through the
9:35 official test providers websites there
9:36 are a few quick points I want to
9:37 highlight which are discussed in more
9:39 detail in our spous Vis of requirements
9:42 YouTube video One not any English
9:44 language test will suffice the test must
9:46 be a home of his approved secure English
9:48 language test and we list these approved
9:51 tests on our website migrate org.uk two
9:53 there are other ways to satisfy the
9:54 English language requirement that will
9:56 not incur any additional costs for
9:58 certain applicants most notably if the
10:00 applicant is from a majority english-
10:03 speaking country is age 65 or over when
10:04 submitting the application or already
10:07 holds an academic undergraduate degree
10:09 or higher from a UK University we cover

10:19 in the application will not need to take
10:21 an English language test as the English
10:23 language requirement does not apply to
10:25 them lastly to save money if the
10:27 applicant's English language ability is
10:28 strong enough they can opt to take the
10:31 A2 or B1 test this is because even
10:33 though secure English language tests are
10:35 only valid for 2 years the test can be
10:37 reused when extending a partner Visa
10:39 providing it was successfully relied on
10:41 in the previous partner Visa Grant two
10:44 other additional Services there are
10:46 several optional added value services
10:48 available for Inc country applications
10:50 in addition to the regular no additional
10:52 cost self-service appointment which
10:54 involves uploading your supporting
10:56 documents online before attending the
10:58 visa center there are currently two
11:01 additional optional Services first the
11:03 assisted service will cost you an
11:05 additional £50 per applicant this
11:07 service essentially involves bringing
11:09 paper copies of supporting documents to
11:11 the visa center to be scanned and
11:13 submitted to the home office this is not
11:15 something that we generally recommend
11:16 rather we normally recommend that
11:18 Partners self upload the supporting
11:20 documents before the visa center
11:22 appointment second Partners may decide
11:24 to opt for the prime time appointment
11:26 for an additional £60 per applicant
11:28 which provides greater availability of
11:30 visa center app appointments for out of
11:32 country applications the cost and
11:34 availability of other additional
11:36 Services vary depending on the location
11:38 of the particular visa center you can
11:40 check what services these are by
11:42 visiting VFS global.com then selecting
11:44 the country you're applying from and
11:46 then select the UK as the destination
11:47 you will then be able to see the
11:49 optional additional cost Services by
11:52 clicking View Services Under the premium
11:54 Services subsection here we do not
11:56 generally recommend the document
11:58 scanning or document upload assistance
11:59 service which tend tends to cost between
12:03 £15 and £95 partners tend to prefer the
12:05 free alternative which is to self-
12:07 upload the documents before the visa
12:09 center appointment for out of country
12:11 applications one service which you want
12:13 to highlight is the keep my passport
12:15 service which usually costs between 50
12:18 and 90 depending on the visa center this
12:19 service can be very useful if you want
12:21 to travel whilst the Visa is being
12:23 processed or even come to the UK If you
12:25 have the correct documentation to do so
12:27 for in country applications applicants
12:29 will always retain possession of their
12:31 passport as part of the standard process
12:33 but please note that if the applicant
12:35 leaves the UK whilst the application is
12:37 processing this will withdraw the
12:40 application three document translations
12:42 the immigration rules require that
12:44 specific documentation not in English or
12:46 Welsh must be translated the cost for
12:48 the translation will vary depending on
12:50 what documents need to be translated
12:52 most commonly marriage certificates
12:54 divorce certificates and bank statements
12:56 the more affordable translators in the
12:59 UK typically charge around £40 to transl
13:01 a onepage document and £80 to translate
13:03 a two-page document there are a few key
13:05 points to quickly highlight regarding
13:07 document translations first the
13:09 translation can be done either in the UK
13:11 or overseas if you prefer to get the
13:13 translation done by an overseas
13:15 translator you can find a list of
13:17 overseas translators by Googling
13:19 translators and interpreters abroad
13:21 gov.uk you will see a page like this
13:23 translations done overseas tend to be
13:25 significantly cheaper than those done in
13:27 the UK secondly the immigration rules
13:29 outline specific requirements for
13:32 document translations the translation
13:34 must be dated and include confirmation
13:36 that it is an accurate translation of
13:38 the document the full name and signature
13:40 of the translator or an authorized
13:41 official of the translation company and
13:43 the translator or translation company's
13:46 contact details and for in-country
13:48 applications the translation must
13:50 include certification by a qualified
13:52 translator and details of the translator
13:54 or translation company's credentials
13:56 third if the document is in English and
13:58 other languages such as marriage
13:59 certificates from Denmark which often
14:02 include multiple languages the document
14:05 does not need to be translated TB test
