0:04 hi guys today I wanted to tell you about zeroone
0:06 zeroone
0:10 monoblock d-class TPA based TPA
0:13 5255 uh based uh monoblocks uh with
0:16 dedicated power supply uh that I got a
0:20 few weeks ago uh before I'll go into the
0:24 SPs uh just a short story why these ones
0:27 uh well I was exchanging messages with
0:33 the guys I got um my dzil clone from uh
0:35 and later on I also got by their
0:39 recommendation musical Fidelity A1 clone
0:42 uh and I was wondering uh if there is uh
0:45 any kind of amplifier that would be not
0:47 an obvious choice because of the brand
0:49 of the Clone uh that they would
0:52 recommend something that they know that
0:54 just sounds good something that they
0:57 would recommend uh to their friends
0:59 their family or something like that uh
1:03 and uh Kevin from fenya told me about
1:07 this small gem uh small because it
1:10 weighs only 5 kilos in total uh these
1:13 are two monoblocks and dedicated power
1:16 supply uh these are produced by Zero
1:19 Zone uh sometimes called I don't know
1:24 why but uh the name also um happens to
1:30 be in the AliExpress uh offers uh gzl
1:34 O Zone gzl Zone Zone I don't know but
1:37 the pcbs are branded Zero Zone uh this
1:40 brand from what I've seen produces
1:44 mostly uh do it yourself stuff uh like
1:47 uh PCB boards like do to yourself kits for
1:48 for
1:52 amplifiers uh like uh some pre-made um
1:56 power supplies etc etc uh
1:59 so uh they weren't exactly cheap but
2:02 they weren't also expensive they were
2:07 $400 delivered uh here to Europe and uh
2:09 they had this very strong recommendation
2:14 so I decided to beat the bullet and just
2:18 buy them uh okay
2:22 so uh let's start with the specs uh
2:26 these are as I said Texas Instruments uh TPA
2:27 TPA
2:30 5255 based monoblocks uh
2:31 uh
2:36 50255 is working in BTL mode here and
2:38 according to the specification they are
2:42 able to reach uh 300 watts per channel
2:48 into 4 Ohms yes uh or 180 watts into 8
2:50 ohms uh what was very interesting for me
2:52 because you know I'm still looking for
2:55 the amplifiers that uh will be able to
2:58 uh drive my Martin Logans best uh these
3:02 are also supposed to be able to deliver
3:06 600 watts into two ohms uh these two
3:08 ohms are interesting for me because
3:11 Martin Logan asked and one electrostat
3:14 speakers uh in the trouble region are
3:18 dropping uh to as low as 1.2 uh oh so
3:22 they are quite difficult load uh okay uh
3:25 these two have dedicated power supply
3:28 and dedicated power supply is said to be
3:31 able to deliver a watts of power this is
3:33 a switching power supply it's not linear
3:37 power supply uh but uh the producer uh
3:40 said that this one uh is the best uh
3:42 matching uh
3:48 monoo um okay I won't uh tell you about
3:51 uh I won't tell you and I won't show you
3:54 the box it comes in in a usual cardboard
3:57 box uh with generous amount of phone
4:00 inside uh I've read a story
4:03 uh because these are basically offered
4:06 by just three shops on AliExpress uh and
4:09 in two of them uh there's a story
4:12 telling that the designer from zerozone
4:15 went to Hong Kong Hong Kong audio for a
4:18 couple of years ago and then he heard
4:21 the digital amplifier that costed
4:23 something like
4:26 $111,000 and this digital amplifier uh
4:30 didn't sound digital at all uh so he
4:32 decided to try to design something
4:36 similar uh back home and uh apparently
4:38 at least that's what they say they
4:40 contacted uh local branch of Texas
4:44 Instruments and uh they decided to use
4:46 52 uh
4:51 5255 uh integrated declass amplifier but
4:55 the uh schematics the PCB are not uh
4:58 following uh the recommendations these
5:00 are not the stock designs from Texas
5:04 Instruments that you can find in uh 5255 white
5:05 white
5:10 papers uh okay uh since left and right
5:14 channels are exactly the same I move one
5:15 to the
5:18 side and uh I'll tell you what's inside
5:22 of each of these boxes uh the amplifiers
5:26 are coming with set of uh power cables uh
5:27 uh
5:30 because starting from the
5:33 power supply the power supply is using
5:37 Automotive 24 volts uh connectors so
5:40 you're getting two wires to connect two
5:42 channels to your power
5:48 source uh on the outside we have a power
5:51 socket we have integrated fuse
5:53 compartment here and we have two
5:55 connectors for left and right channels
5:58 as you can see you can get this one into
6:02 two flavors for 115 volts uh and
6:06 230 volts uh in the front of the power
6:10 supply we have only the power on button
6:14 the button uh lights up in Blue uh when
6:18 the um Power is switched on uh the case
6:20 the case is solid
6:23 aluminum it's pretty thick as you can
6:27 see yeah that was nice uh all three
6:30 cases are exactly the same size so they
6:33 match properly and you can stack them or
6:35 place them side by side and they look
6:39 very nice and what do we have uh inside
6:42 we have a switching power supply uh we
6:44 have capacitors for the power switching
6:48 power supply these are nepon chemical uh
6:51 capacitors so uh not the best uh not the
6:54 worst just fine for the power supply
6:56 though there is a room for improvement
6:58 you can uh replace them with something
7:00 better if you like in a
7:05 future uh other than that nothing uh
7:10 special to uh mention just a regular
7:12 switching power supply although as you
7:15 can see uh they've paid attention to
7:17 rooting the wires there is no mess
7:20 inside it's everything cleanly and
7:23 neatly connected and
7:27 placed um you can get this uh power
7:30 supply board separately in a few of uh
7:34 AliExpress shops km p800 version
7:38 1.3 okay that's there is a sign I don't
7:40 know if that's the brand name it says
7:43 calming calming like km probably
7:45 probably
7:49 um okay that's it about uh the power
7:53 supply now let's talk about the
7:56 monoblocks in front of each one of them
7:58 you have a power Le indicating the
8:02 status of the applifier and there's also
8:05 a print on the case stating that these
8:09 are TPA 5255 mono split class D digital power
8:10 power
8:13 amplifiers uh on the back on the back
8:16 there is a few interesting things
8:19 happening uh the first one is exceler
8:23 inputs uh these are available in FCA and
8:27 XLR input flavors uh when ordering you
8:29 have to specify whenever you want
8:33 single-ended or balanced uh version uh
8:34 the speaker
8:38 terminals as you can see these are not
8:42 your regular small and cheap uh speaker
8:46 terminals that you can find on uh 99% of
8:49 TPA based uh
8:52 amplifiers uh though again there's still
8:54 some room for
8:58 improvement for replacing them with uh
9:01 pure copper ones or something like that
9:03 that
9:11 inside what we can see
9:16 here uh starting from this way up okay
9:20 again we see nepon chemical uh
9:23 capacitors as a power reserve for the
9:28 power amplifier uh these are uh 300 yes 3,00
9:30 3,00
9:33 300 uh microfarads each they are rated
9:38 for 50 volts uh and uh yes I think I
9:40 will be replacing them with something
9:43 better though the rest of the capacitors
9:46 here are really really nice these are
9:50 nichon Muse and nichon gold cious uh
9:54 electrolytic capacitors so quite nice um
9:57 the stock configuration of this power
10:00 amplifiers uh includes Texas
10:03 Instruments uh NE
10:06 5552 operational amplifiers uh but
10:08 that's basically the first thing I
10:10 always replace with something better uh
10:13 I will tell you uh more about opam
10:16 selection for these amplifiers a little
10:20 bit later on as you can see the PCB is
10:24 marked with Zero Zone Zero Zone and the
10:28 note in circle logo and it says 300 wats
10:30 power amp
10:33 uh another interesting thing here is
10:36 that if you take a look if you can see
10:39 that uh the balanced connection all
10:43 three uh wires from balanced connections
10:46 Balan collection are soldier at here
10:50 into the input of the amplifier and uh
10:52 as you'll follow the tracks and the
10:55 elements on the PCB uh you'll see that
10:57 this is basically fully balanced
11:01 construction the input from XLR uh is
11:03 not converted to
11:06 single-ended uh which is good and that's
11:08 why I would recommend you always to go
11:10 with XLR
11:14 version uh then we have a very nice blue
11:18 heat syn over the amplifier chip uh we
11:20 won't be able to see the amplifier chip
11:24 underneath this head syn uh when I was
11:28 doing my listening sessions the heat
11:29 sync was better
11:33 warm to the touch so I didn't bother to
11:36 measure the temperature with my laser
11:38 meter uh because it was barely warm it
11:42 was like I don't know 20° centigrate
11:46 most uh then we are able to see some
11:50 very nice a core inductors and some fite
11:55 cord I thinks I think inductors and we
11:56 have some
12:00 capacitors and uh there also there's
12:04 also one thing maybe worth mentioning um
12:07 the brand of the XLR connector I don't
12:09 know if you can spot that you can see
12:13 that this is uh made by Aran Aran is
12:18 supposed to be uh doter brand of notri
12:21 Cheaper brand than notri but they are
12:24 still producing uh quality connectors uh
12:27 I know about them because uh I'm usually
12:29 using uh
12:34 um either n rink or ran or anel
12:37 connectors in my do it yourself uh
12:39 interconnects uh for my systems or headphone
12:40 headphone
12:45 cables uh so again internal very neat
12:48 and very clean build uh what the
12:52 producer is uh mentioning on their page
12:56 uh is that uh the speaker cables
13:00 inside uh are supposed to be produced by
13:05 um UK based company pisan and they are solid
13:06 solid
13:09 core uh they are very thick and uh very
13:11 nice speaker
13:14 cables okay anything I forgot to mention
13:19 from my notes uh yeah uh one thing to uh
13:22 mention here is that as you can see
13:25 these do not have any kind of subwoofer
13:28 output uh these are full range uh
13:32 speaker tabs uh so uh if you're going to
13:36 be using uh subwoofer you need to uh use
13:38 your Source like digital to analog
13:42 converter to provide signal and with
13:46 volume regulation uh to your subwoofer
13:48 or maybe your preamplifier whatever but
13:50 you won't be able to connect subwoofer
13:58 these uh okay I've told you about the uh
14:01 temperature I've measured uh one thing
14:04 uh more that I've measured during my
14:08 tests uh I'm not using a very precise
14:12 parameter I'm using a smart plug uh
14:14 compatible with tuya uh which is
14:17 basically good enough for my needs and
14:20 uh this stya monitoring smart plug told
14:23 me that uh the full setup both
14:25 monoblocks and the power amplifier when
14:28 I was doing my listening test tests were
14:31 using something like uh a little bit
14:35 more than 14 watts of power which is
14:38 absolutely ridiculous and minuscule
14:43 amount of uh Power so very very
14:47 eco-friendly uh construction using uh
14:50 very small amounts of energy which was
14:52 very surprising to me because uh during
14:55 my test I've connected uh and I've
14:58 tested these monol blocks uh with my
14:59 electrostat speakers
15:02 and these are difficult load but still
15:04 the power
15:08 consumption uh went from 14.0 to 14.7 I
15:13 think uh and that was it uh so some some
15:17 amazing uh results here uh okay now
15:21 about my test setup uh it's the usual
15:23 test setup uh for uh all of the
15:25 amplifiers and preamplifiers and digital
15:29 T converters that I'm using so basically
15:32 uh no free tickets uh it has to play by
15:36 the same rules as the big boys uh so
15:40 htpc uh completely passive htpc running
15:44 Fubar uh 2K uh the latest version of
15:47 Fubar uh the source wereare files DSD
15:51 and lless files on my collection uh the
15:56 htpc is feeding uh sinks su6 uh digital
16:00 to digital converter and uh outputs from
16:06 DDC uh are connected via I SS cables to
16:12 my gastard x26 Pro and my Asahi Cas
16:17 4499 ex based semi da50 uh digital to
16:20 analog converter so two digital to
16:22 analog converters were used for the
16:25 testing purposes why because Gart is
16:28 based on saber and Sami is based on uh
16:30 top of the
16:36 Sak uh so uh then uh the outputs both
16:39 digital toal converters provide uh fully
16:43 balanced outputs so I was using my audio
16:45 Quest Dragon fake dragon uh XLR
16:48 interconnects uh to connect the
16:51 amplifiers uh the power supply was
16:55 connected with also fake uh audio Quest
16:58 Dragon uh Power and the speaker cables
17:01 that that I was using during my tests
17:05 were again all fakes uh redon uh nust
17:08 red D fakes speaker cables and two fake
17:12 models of audio quests uh k2s and again
17:15 dragons uh funny fact is that though
17:17 these cables are
17:20 fake almost each one of them is more
17:25 expensive than the whole set of uh these uh
17:26 uh
17:28 monoblocks and they are also very very good
17:30 good
17:32 uh yeah the speaker cables already had
17:34 the review and the power cables will
17:39 have review uh sometimes soon um okay so
17:41 that's about the test setups the
17:43 speakers the speakers themselves uh I've
17:46 used my collection of Martin Logan
17:51 speakers uh precisely uh my Martin Logan
17:54 15s uh Martin sorry Martin Logan motion
17:59 15s Martin Logan motion 35 FDI and my
18:02 start Martin Lan and one speakers I've
18:07 also used my uh di icons mark one and my
18:10 D Opticon mark one uh for testing
18:14 purposes I was too lazy to bring up here
18:19 my worldd uh Diamond uh 12.3 uh Tower
18:23 speakers okay so that's about the test
18:26 setup I've told you the source were DSD
18:30 and lless files uh so let's now move to
18:34 the sound qualities of this nice
18:36 construction uh by the way I really dig
18:39 the look of these These are simple and
18:42 they have nice industrial look on them
18:45 uh the miniature for this video uh will
18:48 present all of them in powered on state
18:52 with this nice blue LS uh light up so
18:55 okay the sound qualities the base the
18:58 base is very accurate it's fast and precise
18:59 precise
19:01 uh it reminds me very much of the
19:05 planner base uh I mean it uh it prefers
19:09 the quality over quantity uh so I would
19:12 use subwoofer with the this set of uh
19:15 Power amplifiers but the bass is very
19:19 well controlled it's um it's conveying a
19:22 lot of good textures uh and it's very
19:24 easy to follow bus lines it's a really
19:26 nice thing to be able to precisely
19:29 follow bus guitar lines
19:31 uh you may miss some rumble though if
19:35 you're not using uh subwoofer uh the MS
19:39 the MS have very nice Clarity and
19:41 transparency they are very engaging and
19:44 musical they do not sound th that's the
19:47 first thing that I've noticed that uh
19:50 you basically every almost everyone
19:53 sorry almost every other TPA uh or
19:55 basically d-class amplifier that I've
19:59 tested so far uh usually had this th
20:02 sound quality to it uh they were all
20:05 precise they were better or worse but uh
20:08 you can almost immediately tell that
20:10 this a d class amplifier uh The Only
20:14 Exception is IMA a70 that I tested last
20:18 time uh which is uh I think three times
20:20 more than three times cheaper because
20:23 this one you can get for as I said for1
20:27 so you could have free IM a70 for that
20:29 uh okay but getting back to the
20:33 uh they are natural they do not sound th
20:36 they are full bodies full bodied uh and
20:38 they have very good
20:41 detail um some I know you'll be asking
20:44 about that you surely be asking about
20:47 the comparation to clones yes some
20:50 clones had better Meats Class A clones
20:53 had better Ms like musical Fidelity A1
20:56 clone had better me but these were just
21:00 exceptional and the MS here are very
21:04 very very good uh okay moving to the
21:07 treble a very good extension the treble
21:10 is very delicate and very melodic uh it
21:13 doesn't sound metallic and it doesn't
21:16 has this artificial shine that you can
21:18 sometimes hear in other d-class
21:21 amplifiers uh so uh all in all I I
21:24 wasn't able to tell by the sound of the
21:26 Ms and treble that this is actually a
21:30 declass amp um okay what else about the
21:34 treble uh very nice strings because of
21:36 all the detail very nice brass
21:38 instruments again because of all of the
21:42 detail available here um the treble was
21:45 very relaxing very Musical and very
21:49 clear for example uh I don't know if
21:51 you're familiar if you're not try to be
21:54 familiar uh with great set of recordings
21:57 by London fi harmonic Orchestra uh
21:59 that's a set of recordings were guys
22:02 from philarmonic Ora recorded at the
22:06 music teams from uh modern games so uh
22:09 try to look and listen for the beginning
22:14 of Call of Duty 2 Team uh you can
22:19 clearly hear all of the nice details in
22:21 the orchestra when they are starting to
22:26 play when uh instrument by instrument is
22:28 joining the music so that was something
22:31 amazing for me uh and forget completely
22:34 forget about the ciance no races of
22:38 Cilan nether in Ms neither inter here uh
22:42 so again no metallic shine no C Lance
22:46 very very good uh moving from treble to
22:49 detail uh I've already mentioned that
22:51 treble meets and base had great detail
22:56 but now focusing on the uh detail itself
22:59 um very large amount ount of background
23:02 Sounds here uh especially in live
23:04 recordings uh if you have something that
23:07 was uh recorded live some kind of uh
23:10 venue some kind of concert you'll be
23:13 able to hear all the detail of the
23:16 audience clapping uh screaming uh
23:19 talking uh which is a very nice thing
23:20 because when you're listening to that
23:23 kind of live recording it builds this
23:26 feeling of being there uh some of the
23:29 amplifiers uh also most not all but most
23:32 of the Clones that I have reviewed so
23:35 far in that kind of situation would be
23:38 focusing on the front stage I mean you
23:40 would be able to hear the things
23:43 happening around the the stage around
23:47 the scene uh but they wouldn't uh be
23:51 provided with such Clarity like here uh
23:54 so in this regard it's actually better
23:58 than some of the Clones uh so very good
24:01 good and nice feeling with live
24:05 recordings uh for example here don't go
24:08 uh everyone knows the song everyone
24:11 beats this song to death by testing uh
24:14 equipment with it but just uh listen to
24:17 the beginning listen to the audience
24:19 screaming and shouting in the background
24:22 you'll be able to clearly hear what they
24:26 are saying and what they are shouting so
24:29 very nice background detail
24:33 and uh this song Keep It on go uh also
24:37 uh moves us to the scene Imaging
24:43 um Jesus uh part of the uh review uh
24:45 because uh in this song you'll be able
24:48 to clearly hear not only what they are
24:51 shouting but you'll also be able to
24:53 pinpoint the location of the people
24:56 screaming and shouting uh to the stage
24:58 some of them are in the front some of
25:00 them are in the back you'll be able to
25:02 hear if they are closer to you on or
25:05 further away from you and you'll be able
25:09 to position them on left uh and right
25:12 sides um very good separation from the
25:15 speakers I know it's uh very often used
25:18 in reg but these amplifiers are able to
25:21 move the sound away from the speaker and
25:22 create the scene in front of the
25:25 speakers and behind the speakers so
25:26 you're not able to hear the speakers if
25:28 you close your eyes you won't be able
25:30 unless you remember where they are
25:33 standing you won't be able to point your
25:35 fingers to the speakers it's not to
25:37 speakers playing it's just a whole
25:42 complete scene u in front of you so very
25:45 clear planes very clear PLS of Music
25:48 layer it from Front to the back uh you
25:52 can easily hear the depth
25:55 information the height not so
25:58 much but uh that's also because I don't
26:02 have many uh recordings that uh have uh
26:06 very big differences in height however for
26:07 for example
26:08 example
26:12 uh what was this called
26:14 uh uh just a
26:18 second there's a recording of Pink Floyd
26:21 concert I think it was uh taken live in
26:25 G City and uh it was uh very well
26:28 recorded and mastered and you'll be able
26:35 to clearly hear uh that the guars the
26:38 leading gar and the second guitar are
26:42 not only placed one behind another and
26:43 one is to the left the other one's to
26:47 the right but also the front one is
26:50 higher than the back one you can clearly
26:52 hear that and that's also another great
26:56 example of uh good life
26:58 recording okay
27:02 so we've covered almost all uh parts of
27:06 the sound description uh Just One Thing
27:09 Remains the timber the sound is very
27:13 full bodied uh it's striking the right
27:17 balance between being th and too fat uh
27:19 it doesn't sound th at all it doesn't
27:22 sound uh like theclass at all but it's
27:27 also not fat uh it doesn't CL sound like
27:28 uh some of the
27:30 analog amplifiers because theclass are
27:33 basically gel amplifiers uh it doesn't
27:37 sound uh analog in a bad way when every
27:40 instrument is big and fat and when
27:43 you're listening to basically anything
27:45 you're feeling like like you would be
27:48 listening to your music uh in a crowded
27:51 elevator uh with that ventilation so
27:54 basically all of the parts of your truck
27:57 are there but they are crowded no
27:58 nothing like that here
28:02 very good balance very right balance
28:07 between thin and fat just right uh again
28:11 doesn't sound uh like d-class at all
28:12 all
28:17 um okay uh what else about the timber uh
28:20 quite natural I love the guitars uh
28:23 though uh some of the acoustic guitars
28:27 could sound a little bit more organic uh
28:30 but that that's just me picking up on on
28:34 some things because I've heard um very
28:39 good class A clones uh okay now
28:41 now
28:45 uh some te tech
28:49 technical uh okay so these have uh as
28:52 you've seen replaceable operational amplifiers
28:54 amplifiers
29:04 integrated I integrated operational
29:07 amplifiers my best recommendation for
29:11 this the best paying would be Opa 828 uh
29:15 that you can see here or op7
29:19 e627 uh that I've also tried Opa 627 uh
29:22 will lose some details very small amount
29:24 details compared to Opa
29:28 828 uh but we'll have a slightly better
29:33 B uh but uh as usual the recommendation
29:35 uh for opms for operational amplifiers
29:39 for d-class amplifiers uh goes to the
29:43 discrete Class A operational
29:47 amplifiers and what do we have here so
29:56 sets these ones are statos statos will
29:59 have their own review very soon they are
30:02 very great very analog sounding they are
30:07 pure Class A and they fit inside like a
30:12 glove uh you have pin one marking here
30:15 and yeah sorry Jacob I just noticed the
30:18 Mark here
30:22 so and that's it you said uh how do they
30:27 sound very analog uh they even further
30:29 move away the sound of this these monol
30:32 blocks uh from digital
30:36 domain um they give you organic uh
30:40 Timber of uh instruments though uh they
30:43 will make you lose some of the finest
30:47 detail these are not as precise as Opa
30:50 CVS integrated operational amplifiers
30:53 but that's normal that's Class E Class A
30:56 uh so highly recommend that piring
31:05 is lc5s or LC 2s uh this basically sound
31:09 the same uh however there's one
31:11 problem you won't be able to feed them
31:13 like that
31:17 because they are stopping on the
31:22 capacitors but let me share with you the
31:26 trick of the Elders of the tribe given
31:29 me by the vinor himself
31:33 12 deep sockets deep eight sockets you
31:37 can use them as extensions like that and
31:40 now you'll be able to
31:46 place LC tws and LC fivs inside just
31:48 fine uh
31:51 okay where are these legs are the legs like
31:53 like
31:56 that okay uh what these bring to the
31:58 table uh a little more
32:03 airiness uh than statos but uh a little
32:07 less organic Timber uh my recommendation
32:10 is to try both of them if possible
32:12 because they are bringing different
32:16 flavors uh I can't say which one is
32:19 better and which one is worse this one
32:22 is warmer more intimate more analog
32:25 sounding this one is also analog
32:29 sounding but a bit less form and with a
32:33 bit more air so the great thing is to be
32:35 able to choose from both of them and
32:38 just to compare them in specific
32:41 equipment uh
32:44 so in this case if you would be choosing
32:47 between both of them my personal
32:49 recommendation here in this particular
32:53 amplifier would go for stakato because
32:55 it gives this more uh analog more warm
32:59 feeling and it f without additional deep
33:01 sockets just like
33:05 that yep and it's
33:07 done okay
33:11 so I've told you that I tested uh these
33:13 uh amplifiers these monol blocks uh with
33:16 my selection of speakers the last set of
33:18 speakers that I was using for my test
33:20 are my electrostat speakers because
33:24 these are always the hardest to drive uh
33:27 and uh I've learned not to expect much
33:29 from different types of amplifiers when
33:31 connecting them to
33:34 electrostats uh but I was very
33:37 positively surprised what uh was the
33:40 signature sound of the combination of
33:45 these uh DPA 52 55 uh mon monoblock uh
33:49 set with my electrostat Martin Logan
33:51 asent one speakers it was like turbo
33:55 transparency boost uh the electrostats
34:00 are very precise and they Cal image the
34:05 3D imaging is out of this world uh this
34:08 combination was like turbo boosting uh
34:12 transparency 3D and uh depth
34:16 information uh what amazed me uh was
34:19 that it was able to achieve that uh
34:24 using just uh 0.7 of watts of additional
34:26 power I was
34:30 expecting that them uh to be uh more
34:33 demanding uh but these were able to
34:37 drive them properly uh and uh with very
34:40 good TR extension and detail basically
34:41 the problem with the electr side
34:44 speakers is that if the amplifier cannot
34:48 provide uh enough current and uh if they
34:52 are too difficult load the first symptom
34:55 symptom that you'll hear is that these
34:59 will like uh not this these speakers
35:02 they will lack Trel extension uh they
35:05 will be fog the sound will be muddy and
35:09 there will be no highest Trel extension
35:12 that you can hear this was not the case
35:15 with this two they were working properly
35:17 actually they were working very very
35:21 good and uh what I've noticed uh I
35:23 actually wrote that down because I you
35:25 know um I'm testing the equipment the
35:28 critical listening sessions always take
35:31 place uh in the night uh because that's
35:33 the time when I have the most clear
35:36 background sound background there is no
35:38 sound pollution coming from the streets
35:41 from from the building itself and uh
35:43 this allows me to be able to discern the
35:46 fine details of the sound uh so what
35:49 I've noted is my wife shouting from
35:51 downstairs that maybe I should think
35:54 about lowering the volume uh a little
35:56 because people are sleeping around here
36:01 uh well the idea was that uh the this
36:04 combination of this set and Martin Logan
36:07 electr set speakers uh wanted make made
36:11 me want to go louder and louder so I was
36:17 moving the volume up and up and up step
36:23 by step uh because uh it sounded better
36:26 it seems that these have a very low
36:28 total Harmony
36:31 Distortion uh when used with Martin
36:35 Logans so I've never felt that the sound
36:38 is too loud I've never found found and
36:41 I've never um heard the sound to be
36:45 fatiguing I just wanted to raise the Vol
36:47 to be able to get more of that life
36:50 feeling more of that fluid of the
36:53 details and the scene around me so
36:56 that's something uh very amazing
36:59 um spoilers uh I'll do the summary at
37:01 the end of the video but the spoilers
37:04 this set regardless of the outcome of my
37:09 clone race uh this D Set uh these two
37:12 mon blocks and this power source will
37:13 remain with
37:16 me okay some additional random notes
37:20 that I took during my tests uh the sound
37:23 is very precise it's near warm or cold
37:25 it's highly neutral and transparent the
37:28 transparency is actually amazing I wrote
37:30 that again with underscore makes you
37:34 want to go louder and louder uh okay so
37:37 that's the I that's something I thought
37:40 uh yes it doesn't sound like typical DCL
37:45 class at all uh there's one idea that I
37:47 have in my mind uh you know my local
37:49 friends have no idea that I'm recording
37:52 videos on YouTube so uh the idea is to
37:54 use these amplifiers to make pranks on
37:57 them uh do not show them what's in side
38:00 do not show them the boxes connect them
38:04 and ask them what's this what do they
38:07 think uh what kind of amplifier makes
38:10 the sound and make them guess uh make
38:13 them guess the price that's that's the
38:15 IDE idea for
38:21 PL um okay uh another thing uh as for
38:25 the sound I have no idea uh what other
38:28 amplifier I could
38:30 compare to the sound of these these do
38:33 not sound like d class at all but they
38:36 do not sound like Class A at all they do
38:39 not sound like CL class AB at all the
38:42 closest thing that comes to my mind is
38:45 actually dzil clone because dzil clone
38:48 in a way is very brutal it's very raw
38:51 and it's very wild and it's also very
38:55 precise and this this is something maybe
38:57 not close but something that Mak makes
39:01 you think about that Zeal the similar in
39:03 a way maybe similar sound signature
39:05 maybe similar feeling that you're
39:07 getting when you're listening to your
39:11 music uh I think I could compare this to
39:14 a very honest magnifying glass uh if the
39:20 recording is uh well made uh you'll be
39:23 uh very happy uh you'll be you'll be
39:25 blown away by the quality of the sound
39:28 if the recording is badly made made
39:30 you'll be able to hear all the
39:32 deficiency for the deficiencies of the
39:34 sound it doesn't color the sound it
39:36 doesn't mask anything it doesn't have
39:40 any sweet uh coloration it doesn't have
39:44 any uh sweet and romantic uh taste to the
39:45 the
39:49 music uh for example uh another great
39:52 recording another great Coral recording
39:56 uh dragon born from Skyrim soundtrack uh
40:00 the track called burn uh is a piece of
40:03 it's a it's a it's a track uh with a
40:07 very low and very wild recording of cor
40:11 it uh with this with this set when I was
40:14 listening to this track it actually made
40:17 the hair on my neck race so that was
40:20 amazing and that was very very emotional
40:23 and the track the track itself made you
40:27 want to join them and scream with them
40:29 the same text that they are
40:32 singing uh so that's very high price uh
40:35 so I've never heard uh d-class and I
40:40 never heard 50 to 55 sound like that uh
40:42 I IMA
40:46 a70 may be getting close to that uh
40:49 because it also doesn't sound like DCL
40:52 class so it doesn't sound like TPA 5255
40:56 but it's more warm and it's more relaxed
41:01 this is just a low wildness in free black
41:02 black
41:06 boxes okay the summary absolutely great
41:09 and stunning amplifier
41:13 $400 and this will be yours uh as I said
41:15 regardless of the Clone race these will
41:17 stay with me they have some modding
41:21 potential uh I want to replace the
41:24 capacitors here I will be replacing uh
41:28 the operational amplifiers here
41:30 uh what
41:34 else maybe I'll get the second power
41:37 supply because since these are
41:40 completely separate you can use two
41:42 power supplies you don't have to use one
41:44 power supply and if you luse two of them
41:47 you'll have completely separated mono
41:51 setup uh but uh there's no har with that
41:56 because uh the SPs say that this is good
42:01 up to 800 watts maybe I don't know but
42:04 throughout throughout my testing uh
42:08 these were using uh 14 let's say 15
42:12 generously say 15 wats of power so
42:15 there's very very uh big uh difference
42:19 between uh possibilities of this power
42:22 source power supply and the power
42:27 requirements of these two uh okay again
42:29 because I need to tell you this again it
42:33 doesn't sound like theclass at all not
42:36 at all uh highly
42:40 recommended uh I'll post the link uh to
42:44 the shop I got this from uh in the video
42:46 description uh if I forgot anything just
42:49 ask me in the comments and as usually if
42:52 you found that video helpful uh
42:55 interesting if it helped you uh to make
42:58 a decision or buying or not buying the
43:00 equipment you're more than welcome to
43:03 buy me a beer I a beer fan uh I love
43:06 selection of local beers and I love
43:08 different viewers from all over the
43:11 world maybe I'll do a video on that
43:15 someday ah we see about that anyway
43:17 thanks for watching again that was a
43:21 very long video 43 minutes and running
43:23 thank you if you have any questions if I
43:26 forgot about anything please do not
43:29 hesitate ask me in the comments see you
43:32 next time guys with the review of
