0:05 Hello everyone, welcome to my first slow
0:09 English podcast. In this podcast, you
0:14 will listen and then you will repeat
0:18 after me. You will repeat after me. This
0:19 will help you practice your pronunciation,
0:21 pronunciation,
0:26 your accent, and your confidence when
0:30 speaking English. I will speak slowly
0:34 and clearly during the whole video. I
0:38 have never seen it before. And we
0:42 arrived in Bangkok at 400 p.m. It only
0:46 snowed once. Do you know them all? Let's
0:51 get started. So, recently I went to
0:57 South Korea with my older brother. South
1:01 Korea is what?
1:05 South Korea is a country. And the
1:10 capital of South Korea is Soul. Soul.
1:13 What is Soul?
1:19 Soul is a city. Soul is a city. Now,
1:24 this isn't my first trip to South Korea.
1:28 I have been to South Korea before.
1:32 Around three years ago, I was an
1:37 exchange student in South Korea. An
1:39 exchange student is a student that
1:42 studies in a different university,
1:44 usually in a different country for one
1:50 semester or even two, like in my case.
1:55 So I studied in Soul, South Korea for
1:59 two semesters. The university I studied
2:04 at was Jon University. That was 3 years
2:09 ago. My first time in South Korea, I had
2:13 no idea how public transit worked. So,
2:17 it was very very difficult for me to
2:23 navigate and get around South Korea, but
2:27 I figured it out and now I am a professional.
2:28 professional.
2:32 I like using neighbor maps because you
2:35 can't use Google Maps. Google Maps
2:39 doesn't work in South Korea. So, you
2:42 have two options.
2:47 Neighbor maps or cacao maps? I prefer
2:51 neighbor maps. What do you prefer? So,
2:55 me and my brother arrived in South Korea
2:58 on the 28th
3:01 of November.
3:05 November is a month and we stayed for
3:09 exactly one month. So, we left on the
3:15 28th of December. And I remember that
3:21 was on a Sunday. A Sunday. Sunday is a
3:26 day of the week. Sunday. Do you know
3:29 them all? Monday, Tuesday,
3:31 Tuesday, Wednesday,
3:33 Wednesday, Thursday,
3:34 Thursday, Friday,
3:36 Friday, Saturday,
3:38 Saturday,
3:41 Sunday. Good job. The area my brother
3:46 and I stayed in was called Hung. Hung is
3:50 a neighborhood in Seoul. It is a very
3:53 popular and trendy neighborhood
3:57 especially for younger people because
4:00 there are many universities
4:04 surrounding Hungai for example Yoni
4:08 University Iwa women's university soong
4:12 university Hongik University and there
4:15 might be more but I don't know them all.
4:18 I don't know them all.
4:22 I only know those four universities.
4:26 During our trip to Korea, we enjoyed a
4:31 lot of very delicious Korean food. Some
4:34 of my favorite Korean food include takali,
4:35 takali,
4:40 jokal, jimduck, kimchi, jig,
4:46 and Korean barbecue. Those are my five
4:50 favorite Korean foods. What are your
4:54 favorite foods? Let me know in the
4:57 comments. Make a sentence
5:02 in the comments. My favorite food is my
5:07 favorite foods are during our trip in
5:12 Korea. It only snowed once and only for
5:16 about 30 minutes. It didn't snow for
5:22 very long, but it snowed a lot. It
5:26 snowed a lot. We even made a snowman.
5:29 And I know Korea is cold, but I didn't
5:33 expect it to be so cold. When I got
5:38 there, I was freezing. I wanted to buy a
5:42 big puffy winter jacket. A big puffy
5:46 winter jacket to cover my whole body
5:51 from head to toe. But I decided not to
5:55 because I would then have to carry that
5:58 winter jacket with me all throughout
6:03 Asia because I am going to be visiting
6:08 many countries in Asia. I have already
6:11 been to South Korea. I won't be going
6:16 north. And right now I'm currently in
6:20 Thailand. I am in Thailand. After
6:24 Thailand, I will be going to Malaysia,
6:26 then Vietnam,
6:31 then China, then India, then Japan, and
6:33 after that I haven't decided where I
6:37 want to go. Maybe Taiwan, maybe the
6:41 Philippines, maybe Indonesia, maybe Hong
6:44 Kong. There are many places I would like
6:49 to visit. Now tell me, do you guys enjoy
6:54 traveling? Do you like to travel? I
6:59 personally love traveling, but I like
7:04 staying in one place for at least two
7:09 weeks. I don't like to travel every day
7:13 or every week. I like to stay in one
7:19 place for at least two weeks and if I
7:22 like it then I'll stay for one month.
7:27 That is why I stayed in Korea for one
7:31 month because I knew I would love it.
7:34 While I was in Korea, I also met up with
7:38 one of my Korean friends, Johnny, for
7:41 dinner. We had this raw fish that we
7:44 wrapped in leaves and put other toppings
7:48 on before we ate it. I personally am not
7:54 a huge fan of raw fish, but it is very
7:57 traditional in Korea to eat that raw
8:00 fish at the start of winter. So, we went
8:04 to go and eat it. One of my favorite
8:08 things to do while I'm in Korea is to
8:11 visit Gyongbokung Palace. That is the
8:17 really big and famous palace in Korea.
8:21 The palace was so beautiful and it was
8:24 such a beautiful and sunny day the day I
8:27 went. We also were able to see the
8:30 changing of the guard. That was a very
8:33 special thing to see because I have
8:38 never seen it before. I have never seen
8:41 the changing of the guard before. And
8:44 before we left Korea, we got to
8:47 experience what Christmas was like in
8:51 Korea. I have never spent Christmas in
8:55 Korea. This was my first Christmas in
8:59 Korea and it was very beautiful. We went
9:01 ice skating. Then we went to the stream
9:05 with many lanterns. And at the end, we
9:09 went to a Christmas market. That was a
9:13 highlight. While I was in Korea, I also
9:18 did some shopping. Not a lot, but I did
9:21 buy some things. I bought a pair of
9:24 shoes. I couldn't decide which pair of
9:27 shoes to buy, the one on the right or
9:30 the one on the left. I ended up buying
9:33 the one on the left since I thought it
9:36 looked more unique.
9:40 I also bought two new pairs of jeans,
9:44 one blue pair and one black pair. And I
9:48 bought one pair of sweatpants. Overall,
9:52 my trip to Korea was amazing. I love
9:56 Korea. After our month in Korea, we took
10:00 a flight from Seoul to Bangkok. Our
10:03 flight was at 12:00 p.m. and we arrived
10:07 in Bangkok at 400 p.m. It was a 6-hour
10:09 flight, but with the time change, it was
10:13 only 400 p.m. in Bangkok. We have been
10:16 here for a few days now. We've spent New
10:19 Year's here and we have visited many
10:23 temples and palaces. If you guys want to
10:27 hear about my trip to Bangkok or more
10:30 about my trip to Korea, make sure to let
10:32 me know in the comments that you want
10:37 more slow English podcasts. If you guys
10:40 like this type of video, I will make
10:43 more for you. Now, your final task for
10:45 today is take out your phone, open up
10:48 your camera, and record yourself talking
10:51 about what you learned today. Today, I learned
10:53 learned
10:56 I want to travel to
11:00 my favorite food is. So, your homework
11:03 is to answer those questions and record
11:06 yourself with your phone. This will
11:08 allow you to track your progress. If you
11:11 guys want to get more videos like these,
11:14 check out my Patreon because I post
11:17 there three times a week. The most
11:19 important part of learning a language
11:21 and the reason why everyone learns a
11:24 language is to be able to speak the
11:26 language. These videos help you with
11:28 your listening. But how can you practice
11:30 your speaking even more? You need to
11:33 practice by shadowing. Shadowing is just
11:35 repeating after a native English speaker
11:38 to practice your pronunciation, your
11:40 accent, and your confidence. And I've
11:42 started making videos specifically just
11:45 to practice those three things. So, if
11:46 you guys want to become more confident
11:49 in English and become truly fluent,
11:51 check out my Patreon in the description
11:53 where I give you guys three new videos
11:55 every week to practice your
11:58 pronunciation, your accent, and most
12:00 importantly, your confidence. I'll see
12:02 you guys there. We are going to be
12:05 learning English as I clean up my
12:07 pronunciation, your accent, [music]
12:09 your rhythm, and your confidence. It was
12:12 just a roundabout way of her politely
12:14 trying to spare my feelings. The a-hole
12:16 for giving all of my co-workers a
12:19 different reason for why I have missing
12:21 fingers [music] so I wouldn't take
12:23 legal. Came down to he companywide
12:25 training on his behavior. He chooses
12:29 not. But I was already so cranky.
12:31 Okay, so we're in um I did so much
12:34 shopping in Mushima. The jeans and one
12:37 hoodie which
12:39 this lesson I want you to shadow [music]
12:43 you will become fluent in English. Bye guys.
