0:12 salutations and greetings ego hackers
0:14 welcome to today's video where we'll be
0:16 discussing the cognitive function known
0:19 as fi or introverted feeling
0:21 fi is the last function in our four
0:24 judgment function series and it makes
0:26 decisions based on internal personal
0:29 morality mood and principles
0:33 the sfps nfps sdjs and ntjs are all of
0:35 the FI users
0:37 so if we had to use one word to describe
0:40 each of the Judgment functions we could
0:42 call te rational
0:44 TI logical
0:46 Fe ethical
0:49 and finally fi is moral
0:51 so whereas ethics is the combination of
0:54 what everyone else values fi is the
0:55 morality of the individual it is a
0:58 personal value not a collective one
1:00 one fi user in society May value free
1:02 speech over censorship but if all the
1:04 other fi users within that Society value
1:06 censorship over Free Speech then the
1:08 ethics of that Society will tilt towards censorship
1:09 censorship
1:11 fi is a personal right or wrong whereas
1:14 Fe is a collective right or wrong
1:16 how does FI work
1:19 introverted feeling is attached to
1:20 extroverted thinking through cognitive access
1:21 access
1:23 cognitive access is the line of
1:24 communication that travels through our
1:27 own minds all fi users are also te users
1:30 and an fi users personal morality starts
1:32 with what information their te gathers
1:33 from others
1:35 in other words a te user is looking for
1:37 other people's thoughts specifically it
1:39 is looking for the accompanying TI and
1:40 other people
1:42 they absorb the ti user's thoughts and
1:45 then use their fi to weigh out the value
1:47 in other people's thoughts
1:49 if TI is an internal processor then fi
1:52 is internal set of scales fi users way
1:55 out and consider the value of things
1:56 something that feels more valuable has
1:59 more weight and fiu's burden is to build
2:01 a system or hierarchy of priorities
2:03 where they live their lives based on
2:04 their priorities
2:06 this is one reason why fite users are
2:08 often good listeners because they
2:10 naturally seek to absorb other people's
2:12 thoughts and weigh them out
2:14 this is how fi users form unique
2:15 personal philosophies composed of
2:18 principles they gather other people's
2:19 thoughts weigh them out and can then
2:22 combine the valuable thoughts they've
2:25 found to form a new personal philosophy
2:27 the more NFI user reads researches and
2:28 gathers other people's Thoughts with
2:30 their te the more nuanced and profound
2:32 their insights can be
2:34 what are fi users seeking
2:37 because fi is a source of values fi
2:38 users want to see their values spread
2:40 and embraced by others
2:42 just as the ti user wants others to
2:43 listen to them and apply their thinking
2:45 an fi user wants their values to become
2:48 the moral standard that others use
2:50 if a TI user wants to be listened to an
2:53 fi user wants to be heard
2:55 and to be heard requires sensitivity if
2:57 our users know that they often judge
2:58 things or people too quickly or too harshly
2:59 harshly
3:01 they're seeking others who do not judge
3:03 as quickly or harshly as they are prone
3:04 to doing
3:06 they want to air their feelings moods
3:09 values and philosophy to other people
3:10 they're not above debate or questioning
3:12 however as long as they feel that you've
3:14 respected their perspective and are
3:15 engaged enough to learn more about it
3:17 they will usually react well when you
3:18 ask questions or point out
3:20 contradictions or issues with their values
3:21 values
3:23 ultimately an fi user wants you to think
3:25 highly enough of them so that when you
3:27 need advice or someone to talk to you go
3:29 to them first for their feedback in perspective
3:30 perspective
3:32 they want to be a source of wisdom and
3:34 guidance for others and to be regarded
3:35 as someone capable of providing
3:37 tremendous value to those who cross
3:38 their path
3:40 how can an fi user ensure they're being good
3:41 good
3:43 the FI users who are courageous enough
3:45 to have their values challenged and
3:46 refined will listen to criticism from others
3:47 others
3:50 fi users can be resistant to the truth
3:53 and TI logic that other types provide
3:54 so if our users are at risk of putting
3:56 on their blinders and just swimming in
3:58 the pool of their own values mood and perspective
3:59 perspective
4:02 a closed-minded fi user is a dangerous
4:03 fi user
4:06 the highest risk for fi users amounts to
4:08 Supreme selfishness where they either
4:10 critically dismiss or remain blissfully
4:12 unaware of other people's conflicting
4:15 values moods and perceptions
4:17 but an fi user who uses their natural
4:20 self-awareness to give to contribute and
4:22 invest in other people will be able to
4:25 better manage their selfishness
4:26 but the single most important
4:28 characteristic that separates a naive
4:31 selfish fi user from a mature deep and
4:34 generous fi user boils down to this
4:37 are you open to listening and applying
4:39 accurate criticisms from others do you
4:41 allow your values to be challenged and
4:43 refined or do you shut out every voice
4:45 but your own
4:48 fi users need to learn to not rush to
4:50 judgment they must ensure they have all
4:52 the necessary facts before making a
4:54 decision or judging someone as good or bad
4:55 bad
4:57 how can introverted feelers make the
4:59 right decisions
5:00 the integration of our cognitive
5:02 functions is assisted primarily by how
5:04 much we incorporate the opposite
5:06 cognitive function meaning that a te
5:09 user must learn to use the Fe provided
5:11 by others and vice versa
5:13 just as the ti user's logical judgment
5:15 can only be completed by the weighing of
5:17 an fi user the quality of an fi uses
5:19 judgments morals and philosophy will be
5:21 affected in direct proportion to how
5:25 much an fi user seeks the truth or TI
5:27 the hardest thing for fi users to accept
5:29 is that just because they feel something
5:31 or just because they value a certain
5:32 principle or person higher than another
5:35 doesn't automatically make it true
5:38 the path to Greatness then fi users is
5:39 to learn to balance your self-awareness
5:41 of your mood and values not only with
5:43 the capacity to be generous gracious and
5:45 forgiving but to seek the truth from others
5:46 others
5:49 if you seek TI your fi will be wielded
5:51 with a sharpness that will cut through
5:54 steel and reach the hearts of men
