0:14 worst to worst worst in my opinion let's
0:18 get right into it 10 the braking wheel
0:20 okay so starting off strong the braking
0:21 wheel might sound like a fun toy but I
0:23 can guarantee you it's nothing of the
0:25 sort originating in ancient Greece with
0:27 the sole purpose of being a torture
0:29 device the braking wheel also known as
0:30 the Catherine wheel or simply put the
0:33 wheel was a form of public execution the
0:35 torture method was pretty simple it was
0:37 literally just a big wooden wagon wheel
0:38 there was plenty of ways this rather
0:40 simple device could be used but the most
0:42 common uses of the wheel was in the
0:43 Middle Ages and consisted of having the
0:45 victim tied up by their hands and feet
0:47 to the wheel and then having all of
0:50 their limbs broken on the wheel once
0:52 they were beaten almost fully to death
0:54 they would then be hoisted up on a steak
0:56 and left to die which would usually
0:58 happen shortly after other less common
0:59 but kind of fun ways of the wheel were
1:01 used used was having the victim tied on
1:03 the outside of the wheel and then
1:05 rolling them down a hill which is kind
1:07 of hilarious in a morbid way or less
1:10 hilarious having them swung over an open
1:11 flame giving them consistent burn
1:14 exposure until the wheel caught on fire
1:16 burning the victim alive definitely not
1:19 fun but nowhere near as bad as what's to
1:22 come nine the Spanish Tickler okay so
1:24 basically Freddy Krueger claws or
1:26 Wolverine hands just imagine those Hulk
1:27 hand toys like you had when you were a
1:29 kid but instead of being like a soft
1:31 glove it's actually a metal torture
1:34 device the device itself was a long
1:36 sharp set of claws held in the torturer
1:38 hand and was used on the victim in a
1:40 slow and methodical manner the victim
1:42 would be tickled across their entire
1:45 bodies sometimes down to Bone and if
1:47 they didn't bleed to death on the spot
1:48 the infection that would soon appear
1:50 would definitely finish them off there's
1:52 not a ton more to say about these flesh
1:54 ripping devices besides the fact that
1:56 they are debated on whether or not the
1:58 Spanish Tickler was actually used as a
2:00 torture device although brutal the
2:02 Spanish teckler is still relatively tame
2:03 compared to some of the other methods on
2:05 this list which is why it's only in the
2:08 number nine spot eight bamboo torture
2:10 just from hearing the name alone where
2:12 did your mind go did you think of people
2:15 being beaten by bamboo poles sharp
2:17 pieces of bamboo being stuck under
2:19 people's Nails maybe being stabbed with
2:22 bamboo rods nope bamboo torture consists
2:25 of being tied up and having planted
2:27 bamboo shoots grow from the ground
2:29 through your body because of how fast
2:30 bamboo grows
2:32 initially victims would be tied up and
2:34 sat over top of a bamboo plant while it
2:36 was still in the ground right before it
2:38 would Sprout and the plant itself would
2:40 grow up through the victim's anus
2:42 through the victim's body now they had
2:44 to change this method because initially
2:46 a lot of victims liked it I'm kidding
2:48 I'm not sure if anyone actually enjoyed
2:49 it but I'm sure there's at least one
2:51 person that as soon as the bamboo
2:52 started to make their way up there they
2:55 were like huh in most common practice
2:56 the victim was secured over multiple
2:59 bamboo plants still in the ground right
3:00 before they were going going to sprout
3:02 placed in such a way where they were
3:04 going to puncture vital organs such as
3:06 the heart and the lungs bamboo grows
3:09 extremely fast and can grow up to 36 in
3:11 within 24 hours meaning that a lot of
3:13 the victims of this torture were dead
3:15 within a day I think the worst part of
3:16 this torture method would just be the
3:19 fact that you can feel the bamboo slowly
3:21 moving through your body slowly killing
3:23 you and it's really just a fight between
3:26 you and nature a slow-moving fight that
3:29 you won't win seven blood eagle okay
3:31 this one's brutal you've been warned the
3:32 blood eagle was an ancient Viking
3:34 torture method and the blood Eagle's
3:36 goal was to rip the victim's ribs and
3:38 lungs from their back to create almost a
3:40 wing look they would start by having the
3:42 victim tied up and laid on their stomach
3:44 on the ground once the victim was on the
3:46 ground a specific Viking with a large
3:48 sharp knife or axe would begin cutting
3:50 open their back with so much force that
3:52 it would actually break their ribs the
3:54 ribs would then be pulled and stretch
3:56 outward like wings the worst part is
3:58 when they rip the victim's lungs out and
4:00 stretch them over top of the ribs to
4:02 create the complete Wing look by the
4:04 time the lungs were removed the victim
4:05 was dead and covered in blood and
4:07 typically the body would then be hoisted
4:10 on a stake to be displayed Vikings were
4:13 Savages six fing alive this method is a
4:14 bit straightforward but still worth
4:17 going over the fing alive torture method
4:19 was used all around the world but for
4:20 this brief example we're going to be
4:22 focusing on the practice within medieval
4:25 Europe for a victim to be first properly
4:27 filled they must be softened up which
4:29 typically consisted of leaving the
4:31 victim out in the sun to get sunburns
4:33 all over their body to promote
4:35 inflammation of the skin or the victim
4:38 would simply be boiled alive the entire
4:40 purpose of the softening up process was
4:41 so that the torturer could make precise
4:43 incisions into the victim's body
4:45 allowing them to keep the victim alive
4:48 for as long as possible the fing process
4:50 itself would start with a long cut down
4:53 the victim's thigh but even in more rare
4:55 and twisted situations the torture would
4:57 start by cutting the face off the victim
5:00 which is the most painful part due to
5:01 the amount of nerves on the face that
5:03 allow for facial expression once the
5:06 long cuts were made across the body the
5:08 worst of it began once the cuts were
5:10 made the knives were put away and the
5:12 torturers began to pull and tear the
5:15 skin off the body by hand ripping the
5:17 skin from the nerves and the muscle that
5:19 lie underneath this process would
5:21 continue until the victim was truly
5:24 naked the absolute worst part is that
5:26 this wouldn't kill you if your torturer
5:28 was precise and skilled enough you could
5:30 live for days days after this operation
5:32 so how did this torture method end up
5:34 killing the victim great question the
5:36 three most common causes of death from
5:38 most common to least common were blood
5:41 loss infection and hypothermia due to
5:43 not having any skin to Thermo regulate
5:47 the body not fun kids keep your skin on
5:50 five Chinese water torture Chinese water
5:51 torture is probably one of the most
5:53 well-known torture methods on this
5:55 entire list it was featured in a
5:56 MythBusters episode and a few other
5:59 places as well Chinese water torture
6:00 begins with having the victim lie on
6:02 their back with their hands feet and
6:04 head completely secured so that they
6:06 cannot move the victim is either in a
6:08 dark room or completely blindfolded to
6:11 cause sensory deprivation just above the
6:14 victim's forehead is a bucket of icy
6:16 water with a small hole in the bottom
6:18 just large enough to let water pass
6:20 through but just small enough so that
6:22 the water falls at irregular
6:24 intervals this torture method may seem
6:27 simple but it is truly compounding and
6:28 exponential in nature meaning that it
6:31 gets worse as time goes on most people
6:32 when they mention this torture method
6:34 only focus on the psychological damage
6:37 which comes from it which is severe and
6:39 often cases causes loss of Sanity or
6:41 Consciousness but in this brief example
6:42 I want to focus on the physical aspect
6:45 as well too it doesn't take long for the
6:47 water to begin eroding the skin slowly
6:49 penetrating with each drop a blister
6:51 forms on the skin and slowly grows with
6:53 each additional drip the skin becomes
6:55 raw and the water droplets become
6:57 excruciating in nature the physical pain
6:59 matched with the severe mental damage
7:01 image makes this torture method one of
7:03 the worst in my opinion but we still
7:07 have four more to go for and ball
7:09 torture okay this isn't actually number
7:10 four I just wanted to lighten the mood
7:12 because this video was getting dark okay
7:15 back to work four white room torture
7:17 White Room torture is the only strictly
7:19 psychological torture method on this
7:21 list but don't let the lack of physical
7:24 pain fool you this method is brutal
7:26 White Room torture has been used much
7:28 more in Modern Times by governments as a
7:30 way to break an individual typically to
7:32 extract information with one bright
7:35 white light always on in white clothes
7:37 served only white food left with nothing
7:41 but their own thoughts no color no noise
7:43 no stimulation of any sort just
7:46 nothingness and your own thoughts this
7:48 extreme sensory deprivation would cause
7:51 severe mental damage in only a few days
7:53 time some of the early symptoms include
7:55 depression anxiety hallucinations and
7:57 even loss of consciousness it's hard to
7:59 fully grasp the full extent of the
8:01 mental torment that you would experience
8:03 in such a situation but the victims who
8:05 have experienced it firsthand and those
8:07 who have been in prisons with white
8:09 rooms have all said that those who go in
8:12 are never the same if they make it out
8:14 you might be thinking if they make it
8:16 out of course they'll make it out well
8:18 if Insanity didn't set in and completely
8:20 take over their mind a lot of victims
8:22 would attempt to take their own life to
8:26 Simply end the torture three Swedish
8:29 drink Swedish drink oh boy is this is
8:30 probably one of the grossest torture
8:32 methods on the list this one's pretty
8:33 simple so I'll start with a bit of
8:35 context Swedish drink was brought about
8:40 during the 30-year war from 1618 to 1648
8:42 in Europe and was used by Swedish
8:43 mercenaries typically on German
8:45 villagers during raids as a torture
8:47 method to get civilians to talk and give
8:50 the locations of The Village's valuables
8:52 so what was the drink simply put it's a
8:55 crude mixture of human or animal feces
8:57 and urine put together in a bucket a
9:00 true poop smoothie if you will victims
9:01 of this torture method would be held
9:04 down and force fed this awful concoction
9:06 the traumatic experience alone of being
9:07 fed this horrible drink was bad enough
9:09 but it did not end there if the
9:11 mercenaries were extra evil they would
9:12 wait until the victim's stomachs would
9:14 become bloated from the mixture and then
9:15 they would begin applying pressure to
9:17 the victim's stomach either by poking it
9:20 with a large stick or by putting wooden
9:22 boards on their stomach and walking on
9:24 them this method might seem not as bad
9:26 compared to some of the other ones on
9:28 this list but the sheer grossness of
9:30 this definitely made it that much worse
9:35 for me two Keel hauling y Keel hauling
9:39 be a pirate meth fun okay so ke hauling
9:42 like my pirate friend explained was a
9:43 pirate method of torture that involved
9:46 the Keel of the ship or the bottom the
9:48 victim would have their hands or feet
9:49 tied to a rope and then they would be
9:52 thrown overboard dragged across the
9:54 bottom of the boat either from one side
9:57 to the other or from the front to the
9:59 back of the ship you might be thinking
10:01 so just hold your breath and you'll be
10:03 good right no keep in mind the waves out
10:05 in the ocean are brutal and the forces
10:07 underneath the ship are incredible and
10:08 can bash the victim against the boat so
10:10 hard that it can kill them if the blunt
10:13 trauma and the drowning didn't kill them
10:14 keep in mind that their body would be
10:16 dragged across the Keel which is the
10:18 part of the boat that's under the water
10:19 and this part of the boat would be
10:21 covered with sharp and hard Barnacles
10:23 which would be essentially shredding
10:25 their entire body as they are dragged
10:27 across the boat this method kind of has
10:31 everything water plun sharp objects it's
10:33 just brutal and a true torturer dream I
10:35 personally hate water which is why this
10:38 is number two for me one scapis in my
10:41 opinion this is the worst method of
10:44 torture on the entire list scapis or
10:47 being eaten alive historically there are
10:49 different ways that the scap ISM method
10:52 could be used one involving a barrel one
10:55 involving a boat for this example I will
10:58 be focusing on the boat method the boat
10:59 method begins with two two boats being
11:01 nailed together to create a sort of
11:03 floating coffin the victim would be
11:06 secured inside of the boats with their
11:08 face exposed and their arms and legs
11:10 hanging outside of the boat so far it
11:11 doesn't sound so bad it just sounds like
11:12 we're breaking a few rules at Disney
11:14 just wait next the victim would be
11:16 forced fed large amounts of milk and
11:18 honey as well as have their exposed
11:21 limbs covered as well the milk and honey
11:23 would attract animals and the excessive
11:25 force feeding would cause the victim to
11:26 create large amounts of feces within
11:28 their own boat coffin attracting other
11:31 VAR like Rats the victim would be fed
11:33 regularly but would be left to sit
11:35 helpless and exposed to all the animals
11:37 and bugs that it would attract allowing
11:39 them to eat the victim slowly fecal
11:41 matter would begin to build up and the
11:43 worms and rats would begin buring into
11:45 your body and eating your extremities
11:47 this would truly be a horrible torture
11:49 method and for me personally the worst
11:51 part is how long this can go on for your
11:53 body can survive in the state while
11:55 being fed for days and the longest
11:57 recorded event of this had the victim
12:01 living for 17 days slowly living in
12:03 their own poop and being eaten alive by
12:05 bugs creating infections and I think
12:07 dying in probably one of the most
12:10 gruesome and painful ways imaginable
12:11 like I said in the beginning this is a
