0:25 firstly the application is submitted
0:26 when you pay the home office application

0:32 the indefinite leave to remain
0:34 application and as we discussed later on
0:36 in the video this data is important for
0:40 several reasons secondly by spouse or
0:42 partner Visa we're referring to standard
0:43 partner Visa applications whether
0:46 sponsor is a British or Irish citizen
0:47 has indefinite leave to remain or
0:50 settled status in the UK or has one of
0:52 these if the sponsor instead has a
0:54 temporary Visa such as a skilled worker
0:57 visa this video will not be relevant
0:58 rather you should look into applying for
1:01 a dependent Visa by partner Vier
1:03 extension we're referring to the second
1:05 application as a married partner civil
1:07 partner or unmarried partner if you're
1:10 here because the applicant is or will be
1:12 in the UK on a fiance visa the correct
1:14 time to submit the application will be
1:16 after marrying or entering into a civil
1:18 partnership but before the expiry of the
1:21 6-month fiance visa in country partner
1:23 visas are granted for 30 months
1:25 therefore if the first partner Visa as a
1:28 married civil or unmarried partner was
1:30 made from inside the UK the extension
1:32 application should be submitted within
1:35 the 28 days before the partner Visa
1:37 expired outof country partner visas on
1:40 the other hand are granted for 33 months
1:42 so if the first partner Visa as a
1:45 married civil or unmarried partner was
1:47 made from outside the UK the extension
1:49 application should be submitted either
1:51 within 28 days before the expiry of the
1:54 partner Visa or no more than 28 days
1:56 before they've completed 30 months in
1:58 the UK with a partner Visa as we
2:00 discussed in our other video we
2:01 generally recommend that Partners submit
2:04 the extension application within 28 days
2:06 before the expiry of the partner Visa is
2:08 this saves Partners from miscalculating
2:11 the 28 days before they've completed 30
2:14 months in the UK with a partner Visa if
2:16 the application is made too early an
2:18 additional partner Visa will likely need
2:20 to be applied for costing you thousands
2:22 in additional fees and many hours going
2:24 through the application process the
2:26 latest Department visa extension could
2:28 be submitted will be the last date of
2:30 valid leave although we wouldn't
2:32 normally recommend leaving it that long
2:34 as long as the application is submitted
2:36 when the partner Visa is valid the
2:38 partner Visa will automatically be
2:40 extended until a decision has been made
2:42 or until the application is withdrawn so
2:44 there should be no fear of overstaying
2:45 due to the processing time of the
2:48 partner visa extension due to what is
2:50 known as section 3C LEF the same
2:52 conditions of the partner Visa will be
2:54 automatically extended so the applicant
2:57 can continue working in the UK for
2:59 instance what if you're unsure of the
3:01 partner Visa expiry date this will be as
3:03 stated in the decision letter that is
3:05 normally emailed to Partners following
3:07 the grant of a partner Visa so you can
3:09 check your email around the decision
3:10 date of the previous partner visa
3:12 application please also note that the
3:14 immigration rules state that both the
3:17 applicant and sponsor must be in the UK
3:19 when applying for a partner visa
3:21 extension when the application is
3:24 submitted is important because the date
3:25 that the application is submitted is
3:27 when you must show that the requirements
3:30 have been met for example the sponsor
3:32 started employment on the 5th of January
3:34 2024 the sponsor can only meet the
3:37 financial requirement under category a
3:39 which requires 6 months employment if
3:41 the application is submitted on the 5th
3:43 of July 6 months after starting
3:44 employment the financial requirements
