0:04 What is going on everyone? My name is
0:06 Andy. Welcome back to another FPL video.
0:08 In this one, it's my team selection for
0:09 gameweek 30. So, I'm going to take you
0:11 through how the team is looking,
0:13 thoughts on captaincy, so Bruno versus
0:15 Harland, and thoughts on what transfers
0:17 to make, and also why the Chelsea and
0:19 Man City Champions League games and
0:21 their heavy defeats in the first leg
0:23 have slightly changed my approach for
0:25 what to do this week. And of course,
0:27 I'll show you how I did in gameweek 29.
0:29 So, let's get into it. So gameweek 29
0:31 ended up being a respectable week in the
0:33 end thanks to some incredible bench
0:35 jams. So Yoki Manderson who I was
0:37 adamant would start if he was in the
0:39 squad was on the bench. So he didn't
0:41 play any minutes which meant Sessi came
0:44 on for an 11p pointer and Harry Wilson
0:46 wasn't in the squad either. So Elliot
0:49 Anderson came on with his 12pointer. So
0:51 one goal defensive contributions and
0:54 three bonus points. That is just pure
0:56 luck. As simple as that. It's good to
0:59 have a decent squad in scenarios like
1:02 this, but to still get 23 points off the
1:05 bench, that is just some bench jam. Not
1:07 much more I can say about that. A lot of
1:09 people messaged me saying, "How big was
1:11 the green arrow? You like top 100 now?
1:13 How good is the rank?" I actually got a
1:17 red arrow, 61 points. I dropped to 97th
1:20 in the world. So, still top 1k, but it
1:22 wasn't enough for a green arrow even
1:24 with those 23 points off the bench. So,
1:25 thank you to Sessi. Thank you to
1:27 Anderson, but more importantly, thank
1:29 you to Marco Silva for not putting
1:31 Wilson in the squad and not playing
1:34 Yokim Manderson. Elsewhere, Rya, who
1:37 only gets two or six points, scored
1:39 seven, so that was quite nice. Gabrielle
1:41 11 points, although his ownership is so
1:43 high that doesn't really matter. And
1:45 vice captain Fernandez also got me eight
1:48 points. Everyone else blanked. So, Van
1:50 Dijk one pointer. Munoz obviously went
1:51 off injured really early against Spurs
1:53 around the 12th minute. That wasn't
1:56 ideal. Declan Rice three-pointer in
1:59 Burmo one points Harland captain nothing
2:01 all that worry about whether it's a
2:03 captain Harden or not he does start he
2:05 does play the full match and of course
2:06 he blanks one double digit hall in like
2:08 the last 10 gameweeks he's not been
2:12 great whatsoever so a decent week I'm
2:14 still pretty well set up for gameweek 30
2:16 I also didn't make a transfer in
2:18 gameweek 29 so I've now got three let's
2:20 talk about how I'm going to use them so
2:21 as I've just mentioned three free
2:23 transfers this week and 2.1 million in
2:25 the bank So, lots of flexibility in
2:27 terms of moves that I could make this
2:30 week. Defensively, things look okay as
2:33 long as one of Munoz or Yoki Manderson
2:35 play. So, at the moment, I'm set up with
2:37 the back four and Munoz is in my
2:40 starting 11, but Yoki Manderson is my
2:41 defender on the bench. And I'll come
2:43 back onto those two in just a minute.
2:45 Elsewhere, things look pretty good. So,
2:47 Ryer and Gabrielle double up against
2:48 Everton at home. More than happy with
2:50 that. Van Djk against Spurs at home.
2:53 Spurs just in real trouble at the
2:54 moment. I still look at them and think
2:56 there's no way they will get relegated,
2:59 but they are just playing really badly.
3:00 There's a reason they are where they
3:03 are. Eagle Trudeau has come in and not
3:05 really done anything to make that team
3:07 better. I'm just not really sure where
3:09 they go from here. So, Van Dijk at home
3:12 to them. It's just a pretty good pick.
3:13 And obviously, we're at the stage of the
3:15 season now where we've got a blank in
3:17 31, chips to play, doubles and blanks to
3:19 come later on as well. I don't want to
3:21 make too many luxury moves. And
3:23 obviously Van Dijk's been pretty good to
3:24 me recently. So he's definitely staying.
3:26 And then Sessi against Bernie away.
3:28 That's pretty self-explanatory. Good
3:30 chance of a clean sheet. And if not,
3:32 he's great for defensive contributions.
3:34 The latest on Munoz, who's yellow
3:37 flagged from Glasnner is that he won't
3:40 be in the squad for their game in Europe
3:43 on Thursday, which is not ideal, but he
3:44 is working hard to be ready for the
3:47 leads game. And Glasnner's quite open
3:49 with information. So, I'm hoping on
3:52 Friday Glazer says that Munoz is fine
3:55 and if he is, I will probably start him.
3:56 That might depend on what the result is
4:00 in their first leg in Europe. If there's
4:01 like a I don't know, let's say they're
4:04 2-0 down, then maybe Munos gets rested
4:06 against Leads, even if he's available to
4:08 make sure they get the win in the second
4:09 leg. Something like that. I'll have to
4:11 assess once I've seen that match. But
4:13 either way, if Minoz is fine, obviously
4:15 I want to play him this week and then
4:17 I'll decide whether or not to sell him
4:20 in gameweek 31. If Minoz isn't
4:22 available, then I'm hoping Yoki Anderson
4:24 will play. The problem with Yoki
4:27 Anderson is unless a journalist asks
4:30 Marco Silva what the deal is with him.
4:32 There's going to be some uncertainty
4:35 there. He didn't start in gameweek 29
4:37 and he did start in the FA Cup, but
4:39 there were a few changes for that Fulham
4:41 team. So, I don't know if he's lost his
4:44 place. I don't think he has, but I can't
4:45 guarantee it. There is definitely some
4:47 doubt there. Lots of fans have told me
4:49 that Dop played really well in the last
4:51 couple of matches. I just in the back of
4:53 my mind, I think it was only three or
4:57 four days after gameweek 28. And I just
4:58 wonder whether he wasn't quite fully fit
5:01 following illness. So, if it's a choice
5:03 between risking Anderson or spending a
5:06 transfer, I think I'm probably going to
5:08 risk Anderson primarily because there's
5:09 not many defenders that I would want to
5:11 bring in this week like Chiao in
5:14 gameweek 31 against Sunderland at home.
5:16 Quite like that. But this week he's
5:18 playing Chelsea. If I go for Hill,
5:20 that's a double up on the Bournemouth
5:22 defense and then it's Man United at home
5:24 in gameweek 31. That's not ideal. Like
5:26 in Burma and Fernandez up against double
5:28 Bournemouth defense. Not great. I don't
5:31 want to risk a Brenford defender and I
5:33 don't want to go Man City for one week
5:36 ahead of their blanking 31 and I've got
5:37 three Arsenals. I couldn't even triple
5:39 up on them if I wanted to. So, it's not
5:41 a great week for me to make a defender
5:43 transfer. So, what I'm going to be
5:46 hoping for is on Friday Glazer says that
5:48 Munos is fully fit or someone asked
5:50 Marco Silva about Anderson. But either
5:52 way, I will probably just risk Anderson
5:56 rather than make a transfer. And if I do
5:58 have to make one, by the way, I'm not
6:02 even sure who I would bring in. I like
6:04 my initial like my gut instinct there
6:06 when I said that was to say just get
6:08 Chiao ready for 31 at least get 11
6:10 players out this week. But that just
6:13 doesn't feel great against Chelsea away.
6:16 So I think I'd probably risk it
6:18 probably. Let's see what happens on
6:19 Friday's press conferences. So
6:21 midfieldwise things look kind of okay
6:23 this week. I've got Bruno Fernandez and
6:25 Inmo against Aston Villa at home and
6:27 then Declan Rice against Everton at home
6:29 and Elliot Anderson against Fulham at
6:31 home. So, it's not all that exciting.
6:32 Rice and Anderson being defensive
6:34 contribution players, but they're all at
6:36 home and they're all solid picks. So,
6:38 I'm not really too concerned about any
6:41 of them for gameweek 30. On my bench,
6:43 I've got Harry Wilson. Now, at the time
6:44 of recording, he's still yellow flagged
6:46 and we don't know if he's going to be
6:49 available for gameweek 30. My guess is
6:52 best case scenario for Wilson is that
6:54 he's back in the squad and on the bench.
6:56 I find it really hard to believe that
6:58 he's going to start. He missed gameweek
7:00 29, wasn't in the squad, wasn't in the
7:02 squad for their FA Cup game either. I'm
7:04 just not convinced he comes back for
7:06 that forest game and starts. So, I think
7:07 he'd be on the bench at best, but I
7:09 don't really want to move him on because
7:12 they got Bernie at home in gameweek 31.
7:14 So, I will wait and see what Marco Silva
7:16 says on Friday. And if there's a chance
7:18 Wilson is available for Bernie at home
7:21 in 31, I've got to keep him. If Marco
7:24 Silva rules him out for 30 and 31, then
7:26 I'll probably sell him to either Tavanir
7:30 from Bournemouth or Utara or Sharda from
7:33 Brenford. So, if Wilson's out for 31,
7:35 Marco Silva confirms that, which I think
7:37 is unlikely, but let's just say he does,
7:39 I will probably sell Wilson. And that
7:42 also reduces my headache with Munoz and
7:44 Anderson. I would just bench both of
7:46 them and play uh play my replacement
7:47 midfielder instead. But if there's a
7:49 chance Wilson's back for 31, I'm
7:51 definitely keeping it because Bernie at
7:53 home is a good fixture. The only other
7:55 midfielder I'm even thinking about
7:58 selling is Rice because he's got a blank
8:00 in gameweek 31. But because it's Everton
8:02 at home this week, there's no need to
8:04 rush that move. So, unless I get Mo
8:06 Salah, who I'll come back on to in a
8:08 minute, I'm probably not going to sell
8:10 Rice. I'll make that decision in
8:12 gameweek 31 instead. And right now, my
8:14 favorite option to bring in is Anthony
8:16 Gordon against Sunderland at home. But I
8:19 won't do that. Won't do that until 31
8:21 itself. Elliot Anderson just continues
8:23 to tick over with points. I'm not really
8:25 in a rush to get rid of him. And at the
8:26 moment, I don't want to make any luxury
8:28 transfers because there's so much going
8:30 on with blanks and doubles and stuff
8:32 like that. And also, by the way, we've
8:34 now had all the Champions League
8:37 results. Chelsea have lost 5-2 to PSG
8:40 and Man City have lost 3-0 to Real
8:42 Madrid in the first legs. Now,
8:43 obviously, it's possible they overturn
8:46 those results, but it's quite unlikely.
8:48 Now, if Chelsea and Man City go out of
8:50 Europe, which is looking, like I said,
8:52 likely in this round, and then they get
8:55 through to the FA Cup semi-finals, their
8:57 game in gameweek 34, which would get
8:59 postponed, could then just be played in
9:01 the midweek instead. Now, I'm not sure
9:02 if that would happen, but it wouldn't be
9:04 a guarantee that Chelsea and City would
9:07 double in 33 if they get to the FA Cup
9:09 semi-finals, but they're out of Europe.
9:11 So, at this point, making luxury transfers
9:13 transfers
9:15 doesn't feel great because before the
9:18 gameweek 31 deadline, we'll know what's
9:20 happening those second leg matches in
9:22 the Champions League. So, that's why I'm
9:25 even less likely to make a transfer than
9:27 normal. So, Elliot Anderson against
9:29 Fulham at home is absolutely fine even
9:31 if I have to play Yokim Anderson.
9:33 Obviously, both of them can get
9:35 defensive contributions. In Burma hasn't
9:37 been playing that well recently and Man
9:40 United in general haven't been good. But
9:42 again to sell him before Villa at home
9:44 and Bournemouth away is just a luxury
9:46 transfer I don't want to make. And also
9:49 there's not really another midfielder
9:52 that's miles better. Like Tavir is good.
9:54 Bernie away Man United at home. Sharder
9:55 and Utara if they're fit and available
9:57 got Wolves at home leads away. They're
9:59 both good but none of those three
10:02 players are miles better than in Burmo.
10:04 So I might as well just keep him. I
10:06 don't see him being on the bench. I
10:07 don't see a scenario where it's Kuna,
10:09 Shesho, and Ahmad. So, he's going to
10:11 continue to start. And my hope is that
10:13 Man United will will start playing
10:15 better. That's all I can do at this
10:16 point. There's just no need to make
10:18 those kind of transfers. And then
10:20 Fernandez is just a great pick. Even
10:22 when Man United aren't playing well, he
10:24 gets points. And at the moment, he's my
10:26 captain. Now, I'm not sure if that's
10:28 going to stick, but I know exactly what
10:30 I'm getting from him. A bigger
10:32 differential than Harland this week for
10:33 captaincy. He's going to play 90
10:36 minutes. That might just be enough to go
10:38 with him. I'm not making any promises. I
10:40 might switch back to Harland, but as it
10:45 stands, I'm on Bruno. So, realistically,
10:47 unless Wilson's ruled out a 31, I'm
10:49 probably not making any midfield
10:51 transfers this week, unless I get the
10:53 urge to buy Salah. Now, every time I
10:55 mention Salah, it's obviously met with a
10:57 lot of negativity, and I completely get
10:59 it. I'm not trying to justify the pick
11:01 really, and I'm not saying that you
11:03 should bring him in. It's just a massive
11:05 differential play. I know people are
11:07 saying he could get dropped. He only
11:08 played 60 minutes in the Champions
11:10 League. He wasn't great. I do understand
11:12 that and I'm not saying it's impossible.
11:14 We've already seen it this season, but I
11:15 do think he starts against Spurs at
11:17 home. I think that's a really good
11:20 fixture right now and I quite like him
11:23 as a captain option. And to be honest,
11:27 the risk the risk in 30 isn't super low,
11:30 but the risk as a move over three game
11:32 weeks is quite low because I'd be
11:34 selling Harland to fund it. He's got
11:37 West Ham away then a blank and then
11:39 Chelsea away in gameweek 32 compared to
11:41 Salad that's got Spurs at home, Brighton
11:44 away in 31, then Fulham at home in 32.
11:45 So the chance of me getting like
11:47 massively screwed over by selling
11:49 Harland are quite slim. And if I'm not
11:52 captaining Harland anyway this week, is
11:55 it such a big deal? Now, if there was no
11:57 blank and city weren't playing Chelsea
11:58 where I wouldn't even be thinking about
12:00 it to be honest, but that's the only
12:05 reason I am. But it goes back to what
12:07 I've just said. We need to wait for more
12:09 European results. Ideally, like if
12:12 Crystal Palace on Thursday night
12:14 goes, sorry, finish their match in
12:15 Europe and they've also got like a two
12:17 or three goal deficit, which is less
12:19 likely because they will be favorites
12:20 for that match. But let's say they're
12:22 also two or three goals down. All of a
12:25 sudden, you could have Palace and Man
12:27 City both going out at this stage of
12:29 Europe and then the match in 31 could
12:32 just go back into 31. then you've got no
12:34 blank for Harland and then no double
12:38 game week later on potentially. So I do
12:40 really like the Harland Salah move in
12:42 theory because you get Salah for the
12:45 next three weeks, he plays in 31 and
12:47 then either I free hit in 33 to get
12:49 Harlem back or I wild card in 32 to get
12:52 Harlem back. But because of what's
12:53 happening Europe, I just feel like
12:56 rolling makes even more sense. So as it
13:00 stands, I think I'm not that likely to
13:03 buy Salah. But there is something just I
13:05 don't know grating on me to just go and
13:07 do it. Partly probably because I was
13:08 thinking about it last week and I didn't
13:10 do it and I would have been up on
13:12 points, but also because I just think
13:14 it's an okay move. I guess the only
13:16 issue is I'd be selling Rice and he's
13:18 not bad this week. But he blanks in 31.
13:20 So if I sell Harland and Rice with two
13:22 free transfers, it does feel quite
13:24 luxury because of everything I've
13:26 already said. But they're both at the at
13:29 the time recording not playing in 31. It
13:30 would just be gutting if I use two
13:33 transfers. Salah just is rubbish again
13:35 and then Harland ends up playing Palace
13:37 in 31. So, I'll wait and see what Palace
13:40 do tonight and then make a decision. I
13:42 think I I think I'm much more likely to
13:45 roll than get Salah. But it's there's
13:47 something telling me to just do it. But
13:49 as it stands, Fernandez captain in
13:51 Burma, Rice Anderson. That's my midfield
13:53 for I've just got to hope, as I've
13:55 already said, one of Munas, Anderson, or
13:58 Wilson is able to play because otherwise
13:59 I'm down to 10 players. And then up
14:01 front, I've got Thiago who's going
14:03 absolutely nowhere. Wolves at home this
14:04 week, then leads away in the blank.
14:06 Absolutely nailed on 90 minutes and
14:08 penalties. Everything I want in an FPL
14:11 pick. He's just a really good option
14:13 both short and medium-term. There's just
14:15 no need to sell him to anyone else. Yes,
14:17 Ecat is pretty good. Yes, Shia Pedro is
14:19 not bad either, but Thiago is not worth
14:22 selling for either of them. Harland I've
14:23 already spoken about a little bit in
14:26 terms of selling him to maybe get Salah
14:28 as I've already mentioned. Probably not
14:30 going to do that, but it is an option I
14:33 want to at least think about a bit more.
14:35 I probably won't do it, but it's
14:37 something that's constantly playing on
14:39 my mind. In terms of captaincy, I said
14:42 in the gameweek preview video, if
14:44 Harland starts and gets good minutes,
14:47 he's the best captain this week, and I
14:49 pretty much stand by that. I'm just not
14:52 quite sure what to make of his minutes.
14:54 So, I think he got about 10 touches in
14:56 the game against Real Madrid and got
14:59 subbed on 82 minutes. So, it didn't go
15:01 that well for him. I don't for one
15:02 second, by the way, think that Harland's
15:04 going to be taken out of the team,
15:05 right? He's still going to be first
15:06 choice. He's still going to be in that
15:08 11 every single week. But how does Pep
15:11 play the West Ham game specifically?
15:12 Does he just look at it and say, "Well,
15:15 West Ham away is pretty winnable. I'll
15:17 make a bunch of changes and just
15:18 completely go for it against Real
15:21 Madrid." He could do and therefore
15:23 Harland could potentially get benched or
15:25 if he starts he could get subbed early
15:28 like 65 70 minutes if Pep thinks there's
15:30 a good chance of overturning that Real
15:33 Madrid game. I'm just not sure that's ne
15:34 I mean I was going to say I'm not sure
15:36 that's what's going to go through his
15:38 mind is if I have any idea what a
15:40 Premier League manager would be thinking
15:43 but surely it comes to the point where
15:45 yes you've got to be confident you can
15:47 go into any game and win it and Pep's
15:49 got to be confident he can overturn that
15:51 Real Madrid game but also he's got to be
15:54 realistic that's probably gone now.
15:56 You're probably not overturning a
15:59 threegoal deficit. It's possible of
16:00 course, but you're probably not doing
16:02 it. But you are still in a title race.
16:04 So my prediction is that Harlem will
16:06 start. I just don't know how many
16:08 minutes he will get. Could he get
16:10 another 90 like he did against Forest
16:12 last week? Potentially. Could he get
16:16 subbed at 7580? Maybe. That's why I
16:17 quite like the captain on Fernandez
16:19 because I know exactly what I'm getting.
16:21 And you could maybe argue that even if
16:23 both of them played 90, Harland's not
16:26 miles better. He is better, but it's not
16:28 by a long way. and Holland's not really
16:30 done anything recently anyway. And it's
16:31 always nice to go for a bit of a
16:33 differential. So, the armband is on
16:36 Fernandez, but as always, I reserve the
16:38 right to change my mind. So, it might go
16:41 back to Harland, but I do I just kind of
16:44 like the idea of going against him to be
16:47 honest. I think again, you can always
16:50 frame these ways however you want to
16:52 shape your narrative. Like if it was
16:54 like one all between City and Real
16:55 Madrid, I'd probably be sat here
16:57 thinking, "Well, that's very winnable.
16:59 They're gonna want to rest Harlem." But
17:01 he might have just played 90 minutes
17:03 regardless. Like they are still in a
17:06 title race. We have to remember that. So
17:08 I don't know. May maybe I'll just get
17:09 scared by the deadline and go for
17:11 Harland because it's just the easy way
17:14 to go because of his ownership. But I do
17:15 quite like going for Fernandez. And
17:18 although Man United have been bad, Villa
17:19 haven't been great either. And United
17:22 are at home. So, probably going to
17:25 captain Bruno and probably going to roll
17:28 a transfer, which is really boring, but
17:30 four free transfers going into gameweek
17:33 31 is a really nice position to be in.
17:36 And obviously, if City and Palace end up
17:38 both going out of Europe and then
17:41 Harland plays in gameweek 31, then I'd
17:43 be pretty glad that I didn't sell him
17:45 because although I quite like Salah,
17:46 he's not like he's miles better than
17:48 Harland. It's not like he's been
17:51 performing either. And also that early
17:52 sub in the Champions League kind of
17:54 spooked me a little bit. So the team
17:57 looks really good on paper apart from
17:59 the Munoz Wilson yellow flags and
18:00 obviously the slight doubts over Yoki
18:03 Anderson. But I'm pretty confident one
18:04 of those three will get some kind of
18:08 minutes this week. So I think because
18:10 the other 10 players all look really
18:12 good on paper, I almost feel like I've
18:14 got to roll.
18:16 And as I've said in previous videos, in
18:18 previous weeks, I do think where
18:20 possible, if you can save transfers up
18:22 until you start using your chips, that
18:24 is probably the right strategy. Unless
18:26 there's a major upgrade you can make,
18:27 there's going to be way more interesting
18:30 things to do later on. Even if Chelsea
18:32 and City go out of Europe and there's
18:34 fewer double uh double game weeks in 33,
18:36 there will still be some there's still
18:38 the possibility of another double in 36,
18:41 there's lots to manage. You know,
18:43 relegation battles might be over at some
18:44 point. Maybe the title race gets
18:46 settled. All of a sudden, there's
18:48 rotation and stuff like that to think
18:51 about differentials as you get towards
18:52 the end of the season. There's just more
18:54 interesting things to do later on in my
18:56 opinion than making a luxury transfer
18:58 for a player that looks pretty good this
19:00 week. So, I'm probably going to roll. I
19:02 did check my AI suggested transfers over
19:04 on Hub that wants me to do Guillu to
19:06 Calbertt Leuen. I haven't actually
19:07 considered that, but Cal Lewin's a
19:09 pretty good pick in the short to medium
19:11 term, so it's not terrible. And
19:14 obviously that would cover Wilson Munoz
19:16 and Yokim Manis. I could just play
19:18 Calbertt Lewen instead because at the
19:21 moment Gu's is third on my bench. But
19:24 again, is it best to bring in Cal Lewin
19:25 just to cover one of those three
19:27 players, Munos, Anderson, Wilson? I
19:30 don't think so. Look, being cautious
19:31 with my transfers and rolling has done
19:33 pretty well this season. It doesn't mean
19:35 it'll work well next year, but at the
19:37 moment things are going well. I don't
19:38 really want to change my approach,
19:40 especially when the team looks pretty
19:42 good. So, I'm probably going to captain
19:44 Fernandez. I'm probably going to roll,
19:46 but let's see what the press conferences
