0:03 AI search is about to overtake
0:07 traditional Google search by 2028,
0:10 according to a major new study by
0:13 Samrush. But here is what's shocking.
0:16 Visitors coming from AI search are worth
0:18 4.4 times more than regular Google
0:22 clicks. Yet 90% of content creators have
0:24 no idea how to optimize for this massive
0:27 shift. Hi everyone, Anastasia here. And
0:29 if you've been wondering why your
0:32 traditional SEO strategies aren't
0:35 working like they used to, or if you've
0:37 heard about AI SEO, maybe you hear the
0:39 term GEO, generative engine
0:42 optimization, but have no idea where to
0:45 start, this video is for you. Think
0:47 about that for a second. If you're
0:49 getting 1,000 visitors from Google SEO,
0:52 which is getting harder day by day, by
0:54 the way, and they're worth $100 in
0:56 conversions for your business at the
0:59 same time. just 250 visitors from AI
1:02 search would be worth the same $100 and
1:05 AI results are getting more adoption
1:08 moving forward. That's the power of this
1:11 shift. From this research by Samrush,
1:13 you also need to understand what they
1:16 discovered about how AI actually picks
1:18 content to feature because it's
1:21 completely different from traditional
1:24 SEO and some of their findings are
1:26 genuinely surprising. The first finding
1:30 is that Chad GPT search primarily sites
1:33 lower ranking search results. When Chad
1:36 GPT sites web pages, the pages it
1:38 references rank in traditional organic
1:42 search positions 21 and beyond almost
1:45 90% of the time. This is huge because it
1:47 means you don't need to be ranking
1:50 number one on Google to get featured in
1:53 AI search results. In fact, Samrush
1:56 found that AI systems often skip the top
1:59 ranking pages entirely. I'm basically a
2:01 solarreneur. I've never invested money
2:04 in backlinks. So, over the years, my
2:07 blog kind of struggled in Google SEO
2:09 because my main topic, Pinterest
2:12 marketing, was also covered in big
2:15 software tools and agencies that I had
2:18 to compete with. I might have been more
2:20 specialized in this topic, but they had
2:22 bigger domain authority and Google
2:25 favored their sites 90% of the time, but
2:28 in the eye results, I have a good chance
2:30 to compete both with my site and
2:32 actually with this YouTube channel
2:34 videos. I'll show you in a few moments
2:36 how this works out for me. It's very
2:39 exciting. The second finding is, and
2:41 this one shocked me, community generated
2:44 content outranks official marketing in
2:47 AI citations. Seammers discovered that
2:51 Reddit outranks financial experts
2:54 176% of the time when Chad GPT answers
2:58 finance questions. Let me repeat that
3:00 Reddit comments are being cited more
3:03 often than actual financial
3:06 professionals when people ask AI for
3:08 financial advice. The third finding is
3:11 that Quora is the most frequently cited
3:14 website on Google AI and Reddit comes in
3:17 second and these platforms perform so
3:20 well because users ask and answer niche
3:22 questions on this platform that aren't
3:26 addressed elsewhere. And this makes them
3:29 rich information sources for highly
3:31 specific AI prompts. But here is the
3:34 good news for businesses. Sam Rush found
3:37 that 50% of Chad GPT links still point
3:40 to businesses and service websites. This
3:42 means that your website has strong
3:44 potential to get cited in AI responses,
3:46 but you need to create the right kinds
3:50 of content and make it AI friendly. And
3:53 here's another fascinating finding.
3:55 Brand diversity varies dramatically by
3:58 industry. In consumer electronics, AI
4:00 typically mentions only one or two
4:02 brands per query. Big brands like
4:06 Samsung and Apple dominate everything.
4:08 But in business services, AI models
4:10 mention nearly five different brands for
4:12 every query. This gives huge
4:14 opportunities for smaller players to
4:17 gain visibility. This research
4:19 completely changes how we should
4:22 approach SEO. I partnered with Sam Rush
4:25 for this video to show you their new AI
4:27 SEO toolkit that they built to help us
4:30 adapt to these new realities. And here
4:32 is what you can learn about your site's
4:35 GEO from this tool. First, I'll go to
4:39 check your brand performance. Over here,
4:41 just enter your domain name, select your
4:44 target country, and here you can monitor
4:46 how your brand appears in AI results on
4:49 different platforms. You can change from
4:52 Google AI mode to Chad PT, Perplexity,
4:55 Gemini, and other AI platforms. You will
4:58 see your main competitors here. And the
5:01 voice share metric shows how often and
5:03 how high you're mentioned in these AI
5:05 results. The sentiment or perception
5:08 report is reassuring for me because in
5:11 Google AI, 62% of the sentiment score
5:13 for my site is favorable. All
5:14 competitors, by the way, listed here,
5:17 get lower percentage of a positive
5:19 score. And if you want to add more
5:20 competitors, you can totally do it
5:24 manually here. But Samrush isn't just
5:26 giving you numbers to look at. If you
5:28 scroll down a bit, you will see that
5:31 this report also includes specific
5:33 recommendations on what you can do to
5:36 improve your scores. My favorite report
5:39 is this one called narrative drivers.
5:41 This will open your eyes to how people
5:44 actually use LLMs for SEO. You will need
5:46 to completely re-evaluate how you think
5:50 about SEO because these queries are the
5:52 longest longtail keywords that I've ever
5:55 even tried to rank for in normal Google
5:57 results. The first query is sounds like
6:00 this. How do you create a Pinterest
6:03 content calendar for a blog? Or how do
6:05 you use keyword clusters for a blog and
6:08 pin alignment? What? For real? People
6:11 are asking these questions of deep
6:14 questions and my blog appears number one
6:16 for some of them. These are not beginner
6:19 level questions. People who are asking
6:22 this, they're serious about growing on
6:24 Pinterest. They're already invested in
6:27 Pinterest marketing and so they're much
6:30 more likely to purchase my products
6:32 compared to someone who just Googled the
6:35 words Pinterest for beginners in the
6:38 search bar for the first time ever. Now
6:40 I see why Samrush's study found that
6:43 visitors from GEO are worth 4.4 times
6:45 more in terms of conversions for your
6:49 business. Samrush also added a few new
6:50 reports. Visibility overview, for
6:53 example, it gives you an overall look at
6:55 how often your site is mentioned
6:59 compared to competitors in LLMs. You can
7:01 check overall or filter just for Chad
7:03 GPT or another platform. For now, it's
7:06 only for the US and the UK, but they're
7:08 working on adding more countries in the
7:10 future. For my site, visibility in the
7:13 UK is higher. And when you scroll down a
7:16 bit, you will see for which topics your
7:19 site already has some AI visibility. For
7:21 example, let's take this topic, French
7:24 appetizer recipes and ideas. You can
7:27 check AI topic volume and user intent
7:29 for this one. This one is mostlyformational.
7:30 mostlyformational.
7:32 If I click on it, I'll get a list of
7:35 specific prompts that people type. And
7:37 apparently for this one, I have four
7:40 mentions in Google AI results. On the
7:42 right, you have this monitor button.
7:44 What you can do with it is add some of
7:46 these prompts and start tracking your
7:49 website performance just like you would
7:52 track your regular keywords before. You
7:54 can click here on topic opportunities.
7:57 These are topics in alphabetical order
8:00 where your competitors are mentioned but
8:02 your site perhaps is missing. For
8:04 example, I found there is a huge AI
8:07 volume for the topic AIdriven
8:10 advertising and ad creation and I
8:11 actually have a chance to get some
8:14 mentions for it with my recent YouTube
8:17 videos where I review AI tools to create
8:20 video ads. Then I can check what are the
8:23 cited sources for my brand. And it looks
8:25 like this YouTube channel is doing a
8:28 great job for me as most of my relevant
8:31 videos get mentions in these AI results.
8:34 And source opportunities tab shows where
8:37 my competitors get their mentions. So I
8:39 could also try and use these UGC and
8:41 media platforms more often. In this
8:44 case, it includes Wikipedia, Amazon, and
8:47 so on. I loved this competitor search
8:50 that shows how my site performs not just
8:52 for the Pinterest marketing topic, but
8:54 also additional topic clusters that I
8:56 cover like blogging tips and online work
8:59 opportunities. I can go through topics
9:01 or even specific prompts that people
9:05 type. But the best tab is here, sources.
9:07 This is where LLMs find information
9:10 about me or competitors in my niche. And
9:13 here you go, a ton of mentions on sites
9:15 with user generated content like Quora
9:18 or Reddit. Another new tool is prompt
9:21 research. Here I can just type the topic
9:23 that I cover on my site. For example,
9:26 interest marketing strategies. And this
9:28 is kind of like a keyword research tool
9:31 but for LLMs. You will see the estimated
9:34 AI topic volume. For this example, I'm
9:38 getting 2.9,000 searches in the US and
9:40 average topic difficulty is 45. I can
9:43 also see the prevalent user intent for
9:46 this topic isformational up to 65%. And
9:48 then I also get a bunch of related
9:50 topics up here like email marketing or
9:53 affiliate marketing tips. I was looking
9:55 for the data from all LLMs by the way,
9:57 but if you want to filter by a specific
10:00 LM, you can do it as well. Then you can
10:03 check some examples. um of the exact
10:06 prompts that people type in Chad GPT or
10:09 Google and then check which brands and
10:11 websites are mentioned in the eye
10:13 responses more often. These are
10:16 essentially my competitors. I can read
10:19 the full response that Chad GPT gave and
10:22 how they linked different sources. All
10:24 this information helps me understand
10:27 what I need to do either on my site or
10:29 on YouTube or perhaps I should even
10:31 start answering questions on Reddit and
10:34 Quora a lot more often to get mentions
10:36 like these as well. After all this
10:38 information, I also found it very
10:41 helpful that I could check my site's
10:44 technical issues that could prevent it
10:47 from appearing in AI generated answers.
10:50 In the site audit tool, you can run an
10:54 AI search health report. Scroll down to
10:56 the top issues. Click on more details
10:59 and then on AI search. Here you go.
11:01 These are things that you need to
11:04 improve to get better at GEO. For
11:07 example, AI found seven pages on my site
11:09 that require content optimization.
11:11 Basically, this is when content is
11:14 poorly structured and it's hurting my
11:17 SEO. For me uh in most cases the issue
11:20 is that the paragraphs are too long or
11:23 there are poor headings hierarchy H1, H2
11:25 or H3. And now we will look at the
11:28 traditional SEO toolkit but with AI
11:31 enhancements. If you start with domain
11:33 overview, submit your domain and then
11:36 scroll down a bit until you find SER
11:38 features. Click on view details and you
11:40 will see all the traffic you get from
11:42 various features in Google search
11:44 results. But this icon over here in
11:47 particular, it means that you're getting
11:50 AI overview traffic. You also check all
11:51 keywords for which you're getting this
11:53 type of traffic. And then there is also
11:56 keyword strategy builder. You can submit
11:59 here a couple of seed keywords and this
12:02 AI powered feature will help you
12:05 visualize and build an entire SEO
12:07 content strategy using topics, pillar
12:11 pages, and subpages. To try Simrush AI
12:15 SEO Toolkit or the SEO Toolkit Pro, use
12:17 the links in the description below and
12:19 check how your brand or your website
12:22 performs in Jio. With these reports, you
12:25 will know how to get more traffic from
12:28 AI search and LLMs. And now that you
12:30 understand the tools, let me show you
12:33 how to create content that AI systems
12:36 actually want to site. So, here's what
12:38 I've learned about creating content that
12:41 performs well in AI search. And this
12:43 applies whether you're using Seamrush
12:47 tools or not. First, AI systems love
12:50 clear hierarchical content structure.
12:53 So, use H1 tags for your main title, H2
12:57 tags for major sections, and H3 tags for
13:00 sub points. This isn't just good for
13:03 SEO. It's how AI systems understand and
13:05 categorize your content. But structure
13:09 alone isn't enough. You also need to
13:12 write conversationally, not robotically.
13:15 AI search isn't based on keywords like
13:18 traditional SEO. It relies on how people
13:20 actually speak. If someone searches
13:24 15inut uh home workout, they might not
13:26 get an AI overview for this. But if they
13:29 search, "What's a quick 15inute workout
13:30 that I can do at home without
13:33 equipment?" Then they probably will.
13:36 Along with conversational tone, you want
13:39 to lead with direct, concise answers.
13:41 Don't bury your main point in the third
13:44 paragraph. AI systems prefer content
13:47 that gets straight to the point without
13:51 fluff. If someone asks, "Do heat pumps
13:53 work in winter?" Then start with yes,
13:57 heat pumps work exactly the same way in
13:59 winter rather than a long introduction
14:02 about heating systems. To make this even
14:05 easier for AI systems, add TLDDR
14:07 summaries at the beginning of your
14:11 articles. This helps both readers and AI
14:13 quickly grasp your key points. AI
14:15 systems often pull directly from the
14:18 summary sections when they're generating
14:20 responses. The next thing I will tell
14:22 you might sound confusing but I will
14:25 explain it. Create hyper contextual
14:27 content. So here is something that most
14:30 people miss completely and it comes from
14:33 understanding how people actually use AI
14:36 search. So AI search queries are much
14:38 longer and more specific than
14:40 traditional Google searches. People
14:43 don't ask for marketing tips. They ask
14:45 what marketing strategies work best for
14:48 small service businesses with limited
14:51 budgets in competitive local markets.
14:54 This means you need to create what I
14:57 call hyper contextual content. The
14:59 content that addresses very specific
15:02 situations that your customers face. The
15:04 best way to find the situations
15:07 is perhaps to look at your own customer
15:10 interactions. Check your email inbox, uh
15:12 your comments if you're a YouTuber, your
15:14 send folder, your call notes, your
15:17 client uh on boarding forms. Look for
15:19 the exact phrasing that your clients use
15:22 when they describe their problems. What
15:24 are the real emotional questions that
15:27 they ask? What patterns do you notice?
15:29 Another gold mine is social media, of
15:31 course, especially Reddit. So you can go
15:33 to subreddits where your target
15:36 customers hang out and search for terms
15:39 related to your industry. You will find
15:42 hundreds of real people asking raw
15:44 unfiltered questions that you can turn
15:47 into content. For example, if you are a
15:50 financial advisor, don't just write
15:52 about retirement planning. write about
15:56 how to catch up on retirement savings
15:58 when you're 45 and just started thinking
16:01 about it because that's a real question
16:04 that real people would ask. The next
16:06 thing that might shock you, forget
16:09 keywords. Think about entity based
16:12 optimization. This brings us to how AI
16:15 actually processes our content because
16:16 this is where things get really
16:20 different from traditional SEO. AI
16:22 doesn't think in keywords like
16:24 traditional search engines. It thinks in
16:27 entities and concepts. Instead of
16:30 repeating best running shoes 10 times,
16:34 use natural variations like top athletic
16:37 footwear or high performance sneakers or
16:40 quality jogging shoes. Build on that
16:43 concept. You want to create semantic
16:46 richness by covering related concepts
16:49 naturally. If you're writing about cloud
16:51 hosting, then also you should mention
16:54 related terms like server reliability,
16:57 data backup, scalability, uptime, the
17:00 full ecosystem of concepts that surround
17:03 your main topic. This leads us to
17:06 another important point. AI systems
17:09 favor comprehensive topic coverage. So
17:11 don't just answer one question. You
17:14 should anticipate and answer related
17:16 questions that your audience might have.
17:19 This positions you as an authoritative
17:23 source that AI systems want to site. But
17:25 none of what I've talked about so far
17:28 matters if AI systems cannot actually
17:30 access your content in the first place.
17:32 So let's cover the technical foundation
17:35 for AI SEO. On the technical side, make
17:38 sure that AI bots can actually access
17:40 your content. So check your robots txt
17:43 file. You don't want to accidentally
17:46 block open AI's chipbot. Google's
17:48 Crowers or Microsoft's being bought. And
17:51 here is something that many people
17:53 overlook. Keep your most important
17:57 content in HTML text rather than hidden
17:59 behind JavaScript. While traditional
18:02 search engines have gotten better at
18:04 rendering JavaScript, AI systems
18:08 primarily read your raw HTML. To make
18:11 your content even more accessible, use
18:14 schema markup to tell AI systems exactly
18:16 what type of information you are
18:19 presenting. It's organization schema,
18:21 article schema, frequently asked
18:24 question schema. These help AI
18:26 understand and categorize your content
18:29 correctly. And of course, make sure that
18:31 your site is mobile optimized and it
18:34 loads quickly. AI systems like users
18:37 prefer fast, accessible content. And
18:39 then there are also certain content
18:42 types that perform better. So now that
18:44 we've covered the technical foundation,
18:46 I want to talk about which content
18:49 formats actually perform well in AI
18:52 search. And certain content formats
18:54 perform exceptionally well in AI.
18:56 Frequently asked questions are gold
18:58 because they match the question and
19:00 answer format that AI systems use
19:03 naturally. And similarly, how-to guides
19:06 and step-by-step tutorials perform very
19:08 well because they provide structured,
19:11 actionable information that AI systems
19:14 love to reference. Then also comparison
19:16 articles and tables. They are also
19:19 valuable because they help AI systems
19:21 understand the differences between the
19:24 options, exactly what users often ask AI
19:28 to explain. And also list posts, they
19:30 work very well as well because they are
19:32 scannable and they provide multiple
19:35 pieces of information that AI can pull
19:37 from selectively.
19:40 The key across all these formats is
19:43 making your content easily quotable and
19:46 chunkable because AI systems need to be
19:48 able to extract specific pieces of
19:51 information easily. All right, let's put
19:54 this all together into an actionable
19:56 plan that you can start implementing
20:00 today. So, this is the five-step AI SEO
20:02 process that I would suggest for you.
20:05 And the first step is content audit.
20:08 Start by auditing your existing content
20:11 for AI readiness. Look for pages that
20:13 already get good traffic and they could
20:17 be optimized for AI visibility. Check if
20:19 your content has clear headings, direct
20:22 answers, and conversational language.
20:24 Find your best performing pages and ask
20:27 yourself if someone asks an AI system
20:29 about this topic, would my content be
20:32 the most helpful comprehensive answer
20:34 available? The second step is
20:37 optimization. So once you've found your
20:39 priority pages, it's time to optimize
20:42 them. Double check if these pages have
20:45 clear H1, H2, H3 hierarchies. Add FAQ
20:47 sections to address common questions in
20:50 your niche. Rewrite introductions to
20:52 lead with direct answers rather than
20:55 some lengthy setups. And most
20:58 importantly, convert keyword focused
21:01 content to conversational language. So
21:04 instead of SEO strategies for small
21:06 businesses, you should write how can
21:09 small businesses improve their search rankings.
21:10 rankings.
21:14 Match how people actually talk to AI.
21:16 The next step is community strategy.
21:19 Remember Sim Rush's research uh was
21:21 showing that community platforms
21:25 dominate AI citations. This means you
21:27 need to build authentic presence on
21:30 Reddit, Quora and industry specific
21:32 forums. And here is the key and this
21:35 comes from some of the best AI SEO
21:38 experts. Follow the 80 to 20 rule. 80%
21:40 of your community activity should be
21:42 genuinely helpful comments that has
21:44 nothing to do with your brand and only
21:47 20% of the time when it's a genuinely
21:49 perfect fit uh should you mention your
21:51 solution. When you contribute to these
21:54 platforms, focus on being helpful
21:56 because AI systems are more likely to
22:00 site content that provides value without
22:03 obvious self promotion. And the next
22:06 step is strategic uh digital PR. While
22:08 you're building your community presence,
22:09 don't ignore traditional public
22:12 relations, but with an AI twist. Look
22:15 for best off or top list articles that
22:17 appear in AI search results in your
22:20 industry. AI absolutely uses these lists
22:23 to make recommendations. So, find the
22:26 authors or the editors and reach out to
22:29 them with a specific valuedriven pitch.
22:31 Don't just ask to be added to their
22:33 existing content. You could offer a
22:35 unique angle, a new category that they
22:38 could add where you're the perfect fit,
22:42 or perhaps your exclusive data that they
22:43 could include would improve their
22:46 article. Step number five, build a
22:49 review collection system. AI models are
22:52 trained to look at sites like Google
22:56 Business Profile, Trust Pilot, and G2 to
22:59 understand if people in the real world
23:01 actually trust your brand. And don't
23:03 just wait for reviews to come in
23:06 naturally. You should automate review
23:08 requests to be sent at the moment when
23:11 your customer gets the most value from
23:14 you, right after a successful delivery,
23:16 after a resolved support ticket, or a
23:19 completed project. Instead of a generic
23:22 leave as a review request, prompt them
23:24 with specific questions like, "What was
23:26 the one problem our product solved for
23:29 you?" This encourages more detailed
23:32 contextual answers. Exactly the kind of
23:34 rich data that AI systems love. Now,
23:37 once you've got these fundamentals in
23:39 place, there are some advanced
23:42 techniques that can really set you apart
23:44 from the competition. And the first
23:46 advanced strategy that I want to share
23:50 with you is taking a multiplatform
23:53 approach. Here's what I mean by this.
23:55 You might want to optimize for different
23:59 AI platforms differently. Chad GPT might
24:02 prefer more conversational Reddit style
24:05 content while Google's AI overviews
24:07 might favor more structured
24:10 authoritative sources. So test your
24:13 content across multiple AI platforms to
24:17 see what works where. And building on
24:19 that multiplatform strategy, timing
24:22 becomes crucial, content timing. So,
24:25 another advanced technique is timing
24:28 your content strategically around AI
24:32 algorithm updates. Just like Google, AI
24:35 systems evolve constantly. So, stay
24:37 updated on changes to Chad GPT,
24:40 perplexity, and other platforms and
24:42 adjust your content strategy over time.
24:45 And speaking of evolution, here is
24:47 something that most people aren't
24:50 thinking about yet. It's voice search
24:53 optimization. So looking ahead, prepare
24:57 for voice activated AI search. As AI
24:59 assistants become more sophisticated,
25:01 you need to optimize for longer, more
25:04 natural queries that people might speak
25:07 rather than type. But with all the
25:10 tactics and techniques, there is one
25:12 overarching principle that will never
25:15 change. You should create genuinely
25:18 helpful, comprehensive content that
25:21 shows real expertise. AI systems will
25:24 always favor content that truly serves
25:26 user needs. And this brings us to the
25:28 final piece of the puzzle, making sure
25:31 that you can actually measure whether
25:33 all of this work is paying off. So,
25:35 we're talking about monitoring and
25:38 measuring your success and AI traffic
25:40 tracking. You should track your AI
25:42 visibility using the tools that I've
25:45 shown you earlier today. And if you're
25:47 using Simrush for this, monitor your AI
25:50 SEO toolkit metrics weekly. Look for
25:52 increases in brand mentions,
25:55 improvements in sentiment, and growth in
25:58 AIdriven traffic. But Samrush isn't the
26:00 only way to track this. You should also
26:02 set up Google Analytics to track
26:05 referral traffic from AI platforms. You
26:08 can create custom segments for traffic
26:11 from chatpt perplexity and other AI
26:14 search platforms so that you can measure
26:17 your progress. And here is what's really
26:19 important to understand about this whole
26:22 process. Treat this as an ongoing
26:26 process, not a one-time optimization. AI
26:29 search is evolving very fast, and what
26:31 works today will likely need some
26:34 adjustment tomorrow. So stay curious,
26:37 keep testing, and adapt your strategy
26:40 based on your results. And here is why
26:42 this matters more than you might think.
26:45 Remember, we're still early in this
26:48 transition. Simrush's research shows
26:50 that AI search visitors will surpass
26:53 traditional search by 2028, and those
26:55 visitors are already worth 4.4 times
26:58 more than regular Google clicks. The
27:01 businesses who start optimizing now will
27:03 have a massive advantage over those who
27:05 wait. And if you found this video
