0:07 folks hope you are doing awesome in last
0:10 video we have created gcp account
0:13 which will help us to learn follow along
0:16 all gcp services
0:18 in this video I'll give you a
0:20 walkthrough of all the services which
0:24 Google Cloud have got to offer and a
0:26 concern overview because this is a place
0:28 which you'll be dabbling the most while
0:30 working on Google cloud and during this training
0:31 training
0:34 to to start with the first thing is this
0:37 TCP project gcp project is basically a
0:40 logical separation of resources
0:43 resources are the lowest part in gcp
0:46 World project is the second part when we
0:48 read about organizations in the next
0:50 video I'll take you through that layer
0:53 for now just understand you are within a
0:55 project every project has different resources
0:56 resources right
0:57 right
1:01 now in here you will see a link called
1:02 dashboard when you click on dashboard
1:06 this will take you to a page like this
1:08 so this page has all information
1:11 regarding your test project so project
1:14 is a logical separation of resources
1:16 within the gcp world as I mentioned
1:19 earlier so this project name project
1:21 number this is globally unique nobody
1:23 else can have it you will need it when
1:25 you are working with terraform or any
1:27 infrastructure as code tool
1:28 tool
1:30 you can have your resources you can have
1:33 your traces you you have your help
1:35 section here if you want to take help
1:37 you can click on any of these things it
1:39 will take you to the tutorials if you
1:42 have any SQL or compute engine app
1:44 engine you'll be getting the monitoring
1:46 details over here one thing very
1:48 interesting is this Cloud platform
1:51 status this status basically talks about
1:54 the health of the Google Cloud
1:58 globally so in here you can find out
2:00 that which all services are up down
2:03 running which reason is not so for
2:05 example right now memory store is
2:07 affected in some of the reasons Whenever
2:09 there is a down time you're facing a
2:12 downtime you must come to this page
2:14 status.cloud.google.com and check the
2:16 status of the services
2:19 coming back to the dashboard so this is
2:22 the Google News documentation all the
2:24 monitoring aspects basically so there
2:27 there be a possibility that you don't
2:28 want anything so you'll click on
2:31 customize over here and like you don't
2:34 want app engine you don't want uh error
2:37 reporting so you can just disable it and
2:38 click on done
2:41 once you are done with it
2:43 you can see this is gone
2:46 API is gone
2:48 your other one is also gone which we
2:50 just disabled so if you want to again
2:53 take it back click on customize
2:55 bring it on and Reporting bring it on
2:56 and done
2:59 right that's how you play with your
3:01 dashboard and you can enable or disable
3:03 things which you need by working on the
3:04 Google Cloud
3:07 the second important aspect is the
3:10 activity activity is basically audit
3:12 logs audit logs whatever is happening
3:15 within your project you'll get to know
3:18 by following this activity log you have
3:20 any type of activity which is done over
3:22 here you can access it rightly right
3:26 right here you can also choose the
3:30 resource type to filter your log for
3:32 them like for example you can go and see
3:35 that watch what this user have done at
3:37 what time so if any deletion happens
3:39 anything uh business critical thing
3:41 happened this is the place where you'll
3:43 be coming to check you check it out
3:46 then we have recommendation it basically
3:49 it's a recommendation API which monitors
3:53 your uh your uses and then recommend you
3:55 based on that since we have not used
3:56 anything we don't have a recommendation
3:58 but that's you can also use this
4:00 recommendation API which will of course
4:03 cover later on that's all about the
4:05 dashboard activity and recommendation
4:07 the next thing which we'll cover is the
4:10 menus so menu is at times very
4:12 overwhelming because it has a lot of
4:15 options but let's try to understand the
4:16 categories first for that you need to
4:19 click on view all products when you
4:22 click in here you will see that the
4:23 services are categorized very very
4:26 beautifully so these are the category of
4:28 services which gcp have got to offer if
4:30 you are looking for compute you need to
4:32 click on compute if you're looking for
4:35 storage you need to click on storage it
4:37 also gives you a small brief that what
4:39 kind of services this particular
4:43 category has and then you can use it as
4:44 per your need
4:46 the important thing is to notice here is
4:49 this so suppose in your project you need
4:50 VPC Network
4:52 you don't want to come to this place
4:54 every time so what you'll do is you'll
4:56 pin it click on pin your menu menu once
4:59 you pin it you'll see it coming in the
5:03 list here okay you want to drag it up
5:04 you can click in here and you can drag it
5:06 it
5:07 that's how you can drag it to the top
5:10 and tomorrow if you don't need it you
5:12 can just go and click on unpin
5:15 so this is kind of a shortcut which you
5:18 create for your all the services which
5:20 you use day to day so that's your full
5:23 set of services so if you can quickly go
5:25 through so you have compute where
5:28 various type of uh scalable and virtual
5:30 machines and containers are offered by
5:33 Google you have storage in storage in
5:36 storage you get to store all long term
5:39 short-term VMS and file store securely
5:41 how you can do that then you have
5:43 analytics has humongous offering because
5:45 uh you know gcp is known for database
5:48 data Centric Solutions so you can
5:50 collect store process and analyze large
5:52 amount of data and these this is like
5:56 humongous offerings and everyone has a
5:58 very very uh detailed use case when you
6:00 actually use them then you have
6:04 networking networking has all sort of uh
6:07 required thing to run a network within your
6:08 your
6:10 within your project or outside your
6:11 project how to communicate with the
6:13 world or your corporate Network
6:15 everything is done through this
6:17 networking solution
6:18 then you have serverless which is
6:21 basically uh all about functions in containers
6:22 containers
6:25 and then you have databases databases
6:27 category in databases you will get all
6:29 the offerings like SQL spanner bigtable
6:33 memory store which is redis so uh or
6:35 then you have got operations where you
6:38 it is talk about logging monitoring and
6:40 tracing so these these things earlier
6:42 used to be called as stackdriver but now
6:44 it is branded as operations then you
6:48 have security security has amazing
6:50 offerings like some how to take care of
6:53 compliance how to meet your security
6:55 policy how can you create an alternation
6:58 policy these kind of capabilities these
7:01 uh this module has then you have CI CD
7:06 so you you you know that CI CD is uh in
7:08 your integrated part of this devops and
7:09 Cloud world
7:11 you also have Cloud naughty Solutions
7:14 like here is in Cloud build you can you
7:16 know you can host your git repositories
7:18 over here you can build your CI pipeline
7:20 using Cloud build you can host your
7:22 containers like Docker containers over
7:25 here you can deploy it using Cloud
7:27 deploy you can store your artifacts over
7:30 here that's about cicd then you have ai
7:33 offerings which is uh again it's it's
7:35 humongous in nature and then you have
7:39 some tools which helps you to perform uh
7:42 pretty fast and be productive so that's
7:44 all about the tool tools and
7:47 Technologies which gcp have got to offer
7:49 of course don't feel overwhelmed you're
7:51 not gonna use everything because every
7:53 company has some limitations and they're
7:55 not going to use everything for now just
7:57 understand these are approx five to six
8:00 categories are majorly use and then you
8:03 have some uh supporting categories which
8:05 when we learn we will I will get to know
8:08 so for now this is how you pin it and
8:11 this is how you move it out so that's
8:14 about the menu Behavior so suppose so
8:15 suppose you want to go you want to
8:17 explore click on a menu you can click on
8:24 the page have appeared and the child
8:26 menu which was coming here it is coming
8:28 here now so this is the place where you
8:31 manage all your resources from where you
8:33 grant permission where you manage your
8:37 roles and all sort of permissions
8:40 management is done through IM
8:42 so it is about identity access
8:44 management we will have a separate
8:46 session on this as well
8:49 so at times as a new person working on
8:51 the gcp you might find it you know
8:54 difficult to you know go and get to a
8:57 location of a particular offering for
8:59 that you just you can just come in here
9:02 and say that okay let me search it so
9:04 suppose I want to go to my Marketplace
9:07 so just select just
9:09 right Marketplace and it will take you
9:11 to Marketplace Marketplace so
9:13 Marketplace are somewhere where you have
9:15 predefined and ready-made Solutions like
9:18 this WordPress so you want to deploy
9:20 WordPress once you click on launch it
9:22 will automatically create virtual
9:24 machines it will deploy automatically
9:26 for you so it's the fastest way to get
9:28 any service working
9:30 so that's the role of the search engine
9:33 so so you want to go to any database
9:35 suppose you want to go to SQL you can
9:37 just click on write SQL it will take you
9:39 all the options of SQL you can click on
9:41 SQL and go
9:43 it will take you to SQL you can create
9:45 instance so that's all about the menu
9:48 hovering and how to pin it how to unpin it
9:49 it
9:52 hope that that's helpful
9:54 one very important part is this Cloud
9:57 shell so you can interact with Google
10:01 cloud in three ways through apis through
10:04 this console and the Third Way Is This
10:07 Cloud shell so it is a small
10:09 Linux VM
10:13 created for you which is for free and it
10:16 is a big topic we will cover it but for
10:18 now understand that this is a Linux
10:20 window from where you can directly
10:23 communicate to your project and you can
10:25 create resources you can delete
10:27 resources and you can you do anything
10:29 through it so that's that's one of the
10:32 place it's up and running in minutes and
10:33 you can communicate and create resources
10:36 That's The Power of cloud shell so we'll
10:40 be using it on all our labs so uh that's
10:43 all about it one thing I really wanted
10:46 to highlight is that when you since we
10:48 are using trial account one thing I
10:49 wanted to highlight is just when you
10:52 click on billing it will tell you that
10:55 how many days you have left or how many
10:58 dollars you have okay so this is our
11:00 current status so we have 90 days
11:02 remaining and 23
11:05 990 rupees of free trial credit
11:07 I suggest you do not click on upgrade
11:09 because if you click on upgrade your
11:11 account becomes the uh you know
11:13 mainstream account and if anything goes
11:15 beyond this you will be charged for that
11:16 money from your credit card which you
11:18 have used while creating it so do not
11:20 click on upgrade let's learn try and
11:23 learn within this 90 days and try to
11:27 learn all the services right so that's
11:29 that's all for the day hope you like the
11:32 walkthrough and see you in the next
11:34 video like And subscribe my channel
