2:08 important new beginnings and today we
2:12 are here to celebrate a new milestone
2:19 not just the launch of a great device
2:22 but the beginning of a new way to
2:27 experience the world a world where boxes
2:32 no longer the finest and barriers that
2:38 once stood in the way having removed
2:41 from the first mobile phone back in the
2:47 old days which I'm too young to remember
2:52 frankly speaking to happen flippant as
2:57 Martin this industry as consistently
3:00 pushes the boundaries of what is
3:05 possible capabilities the people only
3:09 dreamed about are features we now take
3:15 for granted today you can capture every
3:19 moment share every memory and travel
3:25 everything from a device small enough
3:28 feeding your hand pepino to contain
3:31 everything you need for your life at
3:36 work and at home and what seems
3:40 exceptional today will become essential
3:47 tomorrow this is how we drive progress

5:24 their lives save their memories and
5:31 manage their work today we are proud to
5:34 map the beginning of a new era of smart
5:36 phone design
5:43 on era without edges or limits on era
5:47 videophone at the center connecting to
5:51 powerful capabilities services and
5:55 devices today when most people think
6:00 mobile they think cell phones we think
6:07 this view is too narrow around the globe
6:11 people are inspired by the promise of a
6:15 connected world but there are too many
6:22 barriers too many steps the promise of a
6:26 connected world is experiences that a
6:36 experiences that embrace everything that
6:38 is important to you across all your
6:43 devices and the services today I'm
6:47 excited to show you a new port that
6:51 extends a lot heritage of great
6:56 innovation and stunning design we will
7:00 introduce an infinity display that sat
7:03 on you stand up for immersive
7:09 experiences a camera that takes sharp
7:13 pictures even in low-light and the first
7:16 great security with the fingerprint iris
7:21 and a new facial recognition feature all
7:25 we the past powerful performance and the
7:31 world power consumption but this is just
7:35 a start we see the phone as a gateway
7:39 that will take you beyond the boundaries
7:44 of today's experiences and a lot of all

8:28 connecting you to all the VR experiences
8:32 through the new hills resecting new
8:36 services and solutions then make your
8:39 phone the gateway to smart devices in
8:44 your home and powerful tools at work

10:51 that will take you beyond the limits

13:23 more porous thank you now please welcome
13:27 Justin Dennison my colleague at Samsung
13:31 Electronics America here is more details
13:36 about how the dela p8 and si+ will
13:53 [Music]
13:58 Thank You DJ today marks a new beginning
14:01 for Samsung for our customers and for
14:05 the entire mobile industry the Galaxy s8
14:08 will fundamentally change how you use
14:11 your phone by giving you more screen in
14:15 a completely new form factor by
14:16 introducing intelligence that makes all
14:19 of your interactions simple and seamless
14:22 and by fulfilling the promise of a
14:25 connected ecosystem of devices products
14:30 and services back when the first mobile
14:33 phones came out just making a call from
14:35 outside the house I mean that was huge
14:37 right build early that phone was
14:41 enormous with the flip phone we could
14:43 finally break free from our homes and
14:45 offices with a device that fit inside
14:49 our pockets but the digital age
14:53 mobility wasn't enough we wanted
14:56 Internet at our fingertips and then we
14:59 got it with the touch screen smartphone
15:05 and then time just stopped well okay it
15:07 didn't really stop our lives our
15:10 expectations our habit they kept
15:13 evolving but not the fundamental design
15:17 of our phones today our phones aren't
15:19 just music players or web browsers their
15:21 portals to the most important places
15:25 people and passions in our lives and yet
15:27 they have the same screen they had ten
15:33 years ago boxed in on all sides until
15:37 now the Galaxy s8 isn't just a new
15:40 smartphone but a new kind of smartphone
15:43 it marks a new era in smartphone design
15:46 the perfect balance of form and function
15:51 art and science design and technology
15:53 and it's my pleasure to introduce an
15:56 innovation that will change the way you
15:58 see your smartphone and everything on it
16:11 thank you thank you report the infinity
16:13 display has an incredible end to end
16:15 screen that spills over the phone sides
16:18 forming a completely smooth continuous
16:21 surface the entire front of the phone is
16:24 pure pristine glass which flows
16:28 seamlessly into the aluminum shell where
16:31 there were boundary we push past them
16:34 where there were barriers we removed
16:37 them giving you a higher screen to body
16:39 ratio than ever before
16:42 the endless curves of the device meld
16:44 into one another so you can barely tell
16:46 where the screen end and the frame
16:50 begins the result is a beautifully
16:56 curved perfectly symmetrical object to
16:57 create the infinity display
17:00 we took a five-point inch piece of glass
17:03 6.2 inches for the galaxy si plus and we
17:06 rounded the corners and curved the edges
17:09 even with more screen the phone feels
17:12 small and comfortable in your hand now
17:14 you see the conventional wisdom was that
17:16 having a big screen and having a you
17:19 know big device but with curved edges we
17:21 realized that we could increase the size
17:23 of display without sacrificing that
17:28 comfortable grip but just bending the
17:30 screen isn't enough if it's still boxed
17:33 in by bezels I mean seriously when was
17:34 the last time that you actually admired
17:37 your phone's bezels I mean in the past
17:39 they've been required for the internal
17:42 wiring and some of the components of the
17:45 phone but we innovated to give users the
17:48 screen they actually wanted and our
17:52 solution came from within we reorganize
17:54 the phone's interior they made each
17:58 individual components smaller that way
17:59 we can stretch the usable surface of the
18:02 phone over basically the entire front of
18:05 the device where there used to be bezels
18:09 now there's only screen in other words
18:10 we've redesigned the smart phone from
18:13 the inside out to unbox the screen and unleash
18:14 unleash
18:19 infinite potential the galaxy estate
18:21 bridges the gap between movie and TV
18:23 resolutions with an extra half a million
18:26 pixels and the largest display for a
18:30 smartphone of its size as for how to use
18:32 all that extra space well that's up to
18:36 you more screen means more freedom to
18:38 multitask so you can watch a video while
18:42 texting about it with your friends it
18:44 also means less time scrolling when
18:45 you're reading an article or checking
18:49 your Facebook feed best of all
18:51 entertainment is more immersive than
18:54 ever with the galaxy f8 you can stream
18:56 content from providers like Netflix than
18:59 YouTube on a screen that literally draws
19:02 you inside the action and the infinity
19:05 display isn't just bigger it's actually
19:09 richer and more vibrant in fact the
19:11 Galaxy s8 is the first mobile device to
19:14 earn a mobile HDR premium certification
19:18 from the UHD alliance that means when
19:28 that means when you watch your favorite
19:31 show you'll see exactly the same vivid
19:33 colors and contrast that the directors
19:36 imagined we've teamed up with Amazon
19:38 Prime video in others to bring you HDR
19:41 content to mobile you can stream movies
19:43 and shows like Amazon's award-winning
19:46 original series in its original crisp
19:50 realistic colors right from your phone
19:52 and with the galaxy f8
19:54 there's also a new clear view standing
19:56 color cover so you can keep your phone
20:01 propped up while you watch now some of
20:04 you might be wondering what happened to
20:06 the home button well it's still there
20:09 but to give you more screen we move the
20:12 home button beneath the Infinity display
20:14 and with a combination of hardware and
20:25 software and with a combination of
20:27 hardware and software we make sure
20:29 respond to pressure just like a physical
20:33 button would we also took the design of
20:35 the Infinity display and created a new
20:39 visual language to match from app icons
20:42 to typography the look and feel of the
20:45 Galaxy s8 software incorporates the same
20:46 design principles as the infinity
20:50 display using smooth continuous curves
20:52 and play of light and line to create
20:55 depth and dimension as soon as you
20:56 unlock your phone you'll notice the
20:58 natural seamless flow from the always-on
21:03 display to the home screen the Galaxy s8
21:07 brings together design technology and
21:09 user experience in a device that looks
21:13 and feels like none other and you can
21:14 make it your own by choosing from one of
21:21 five stunning colors with the new form
21:24 factor and a new interface the Galaxy S
21:26 a gives users even better access to the
21:29 core features they know and love like
21:32 our cameras of course our cameras have
21:34 been designed to capture your favorite
21:36 moments clearly and quickly
21:39 and when we introduce the award-winning
21:41 galaxy s7 camera we raised the bar for
21:44 taking photos in low light with the
21:46 first-ever dual pixel sensor on a mobile
21:50 device we've taken that same
21:51 revolutionary technology and
21:56 incorporated it into the Galaxy s8 and
21:59 we've gone even further I mean haven't
22:01 you ever wished that you could take like
22:03 multiple photos of the same moment
22:05 moment and then combine the best
22:07 attributes of those photos to create the
22:10 perfect shot well that's what multi
22:12 frame image processing does it uses
22:14 multiple images to reduce noise and
22:17 boost brightness when you need it most
22:20 with the Galaxy s8 multi frame
22:22 processing will be active in all sorts
22:24 of conditions so you'll never miss that
22:29 perfect shot these days the way we
22:31 capture and share a moment says you know
22:33 fundamentally change right in fact it's
22:35 literally done a 180
22:37 we take millions of selfies every day
22:40 let's just admit it many of us will take
22:43 more than 25,000 in our lifetimes I know
22:44 that's personally because my
22:45 twelve-year-old daughter is clearly on
22:50 pace for twice that that's why we made
22:53 our front-facing camera even better it
22:55 now has an eight megapixel sensor an
22:58 autofocus that detects your face so you
23:01 can get fast clear focused shots from
23:06 the front now whether we're watching
23:09 creating or sharing content we want to
23:12 be able to do that anywhere right so we
23:14 became one of the first manufacturers to
23:16 make our devices water and dust
23:20 resistant fast-forward to today and you
23:22 can use your Galaxy s8 inside and
23:24 outside in real-life environments
23:26 without worrying that a rainstorm will
23:30 ruin your day or your phone now force
23:32 the power and amazing phone you need the
23:33 best possible processor and battery
23:38 right that's why we created a new 10
23:40 nanometer smart phone processor for the
23:50 it's incredibly powerful
23:53 now only one animators matter well let
23:54 me just to give you some perspective
23:57 that means that 10,000 of our
23:59 transistors can fit on the width of a
24:03 human hair and as transistors get
24:05 smaller we can pack more processing
24:08 power into the same space the result is
24:10 a mobile processor that's faster and
24:13 more powerful than any other we've ever made
24:13 made
24:16 offering a new standard for the
24:19 smartphone it's also our most efficient
24:22 processor consuming less energy and
24:25 saving your battery of course when you
24:27 do need to recharge we've always
24:29 believed it should be easy and
24:31 convenient of course I mean we pioneered
24:34 fast and wireless charging you know to
24:35 remove the burdens of traditional
24:37 charging you've given you new ways to
24:41 power up your device for example our
24:43 newest wireless charging pad gives you
24:45 more options letting you lay your phone
24:48 flat or prop it up so you can see the
24:52 screen we are committed to innovation
24:56 from hardware to software from core
24:57 features to accessories that make your
25:01 life easier we're also committed to
25:06 innovation in quality and safety we put
25:08 the galaxy FA through our toughest
25:11 safety testing process ever with an
25:13 eight point battery safety check that
25:15 goes beyond the industry standard
25:18 because quality and safety is and
25:23 remains our top priority our commitment
25:26 to safety extensive security to four
25:28 years in order to protect your most
25:30 valuable information we had to create
25:33 these long complex passwords but that's
25:36 not enough for each site you have to
25:38 create a different long and complex
25:41 password oh but that's not enough either
25:43 now you have to change these passwords
25:46 every three months so Samsung we saw an
25:49 opportunity to make users lives safer
25:52 and easier through biometric authentication
25:54 authentication
25:57 now it says typing a password
25:59 you are the password it's the perfect
26:02 combination of security and convenience
26:05 one of the most exciting examples of
26:08 this is the iris scanner which maps your
26:10 iris and creates a unique digital
26:12 signature and eye print instead of a
26:16 fingerprint it's the most secure form of
26:23 now sometimes you just really want to
26:27 get into your phone really quickly so
26:28 we've perfected a form of biometrics
26:30 that lets you do exactly that
26:33 it's called face recognition so let's
26:35 say you wanted to unlock your phone
26:38 right now the first thing you do is you
26:40 take your phone and then you see the
26:43 lock screen with face recognition there
26:47 are no other steps you just hold your fa
26:48 in front of your face and it will pull
26:52 up your home screen instantly you can
26:53 still use the fingerprint scanner
26:55 well we've moved that to the back of the
26:57 phone to make space for all that extra
27:00 screen and because convenience also
27:02 means choice you can choose use a
27:04 pattern and a password or a pin to
27:09 protect your phone as well the Galaxy S
27:12 8 gives you security options that work
27:13 best for you
27:17 emphasis on options that's what we mean
27:19 when we say the galaxy s 8 breaks down
27:22 barriers unless you use your phone
27:24 anywhere you like in any way you like
27:27 from a cinematic screen that still fits
27:30 in one hand to security for every
27:33 possible situation the gaseous ate up
27:35 ends our basic assumptions about what a
27:41 smart phone is and what it can do we've
27:43 always believed your phone should be
27:46 more than a standalone device that's why
27:48 our smart phones have always been the
27:49 center of a connected ecosystem a
27:52 network of devices and services that
27:56 work together seamlessly our mobile
27:58 devices unlock the potential of a smart
28:00 phone giving giving users a more
28:02 connected more convenient smartphone
28:06 experience example this is Samsung pay
28:08 which turns your phone into a digital
28:11 wallet that you can use virtually
28:14 anywhere you use a credit or debit card
28:17 consumers around the world have used
28:19 Samsung pay for about a quarter of a
28:21 billion transactions today that's
28:24 billion with a B and that number is just
28:27 going to keep growing we've also
28:30 partnered with more than 870 banks
28:32 globally in addition in addition to the
28:34 in-store coverage we're expanding into
28:36 online payments through strategic
28:38 partnerships with companies like visa
28:42 checkout and remember we talked about
28:46 those annoying passwords well let me
28:48 tell you about an application that I use
28:52 literally every day works spanning
28:55 coverage for Samsung packs which makes
28:58 logging into apps and websites easier
29:00 than ever with iris and fingerprint
29:03 scanning and we're working with leading
29:06 partners such as Bank of America US Bank
29:08 MasterCard and Visa and others to
29:10 integrate Samsung paths into more
29:13 financial services in the US Europe and
29:16 Asia so whether you need secure access
29:19 to your financial information or a quick
29:21 way to log in to your favorite sites
29:23 Samsung's path helps you balance
29:28 security and convenience and soon you'll
29:29 be able to use Samsung pass and more
29:35 services beyond Finance with Samsung
29:38 path you can take charge of your virtual
29:41 life but the s8 also lets you take
29:43 charge of your actual life or your
29:48 well-being with Samsung health you can
29:50 already use your Galaxy device and
29:52 Samsung helps to track your fitness
29:54 goals like calories burned or steps take
29:58 it and with the Galaxy s8 we're putting
30:00 even more control in the hand of our
30:03 users we've partnered with leading
30:05 online providers like American well in
30:07 the u.s. to bring you our new ask an
30:11 expert feature with it you can connect
30:15 with a doctor online within minutes at a
30:19 time that works for you ask an expert is
30:21 available in Korea and China and will be
30:23 available in the US at launch with
30:24 service varying by local
30:28 I will continue expanding the more users
30:34 in the coming month a decade ago the
30:36 idea that your phone could help you
30:39 checkout at the cash register or connect
30:41 you with a doctor that would have
30:43 sounded pretty far-fetched right
30:46 incredible advances in technology have
30:49 helped our phones evolve into devices
30:52 they are today and yet as smartphones
30:55 acquire more and more functionality we
30:56 have to really make sure that they do
31:00 simplify our lives that's one of the
31:03 fundamental paradoxes of innovation how
31:06 do you add capability without taking
31:09 away usability to answer that question
31:11 we're introducing an entirely new way to
31:15 interact with your phone and now to tell
31:16 you more about it please welcome to the
31:20 stage Shriram solo groove off [Music]
31:21 [Music] [Applause]
31:26 [Applause] [Music]
31:27 [Music] [Applause]
31:29 [Applause]
31:33 Thank You Justin hello everyone it's
31:34 great to be here
31:38 I never imagined 20 years ago when I
31:40 graduated from high school on this very
31:42 stage that I'd be back here to tell you
31:45 about SAMHSA's vision for the future of
31:49 mobile interaction how many dozens of
31:51 apps are on your phone right now
31:54 how many interfaces you deal with every
31:58 single day how many layers of menus how
32:01 many taps and swipes to get to what you
32:04 need with every advance in technology
32:08 our lives get more richer and more
32:11 connected but our phones are getting
32:15 more cluttered and complicated we end up
32:17 adapting to our phones when our phones
32:20 should be adapting to us it doesn't have
32:24 to be that way technology should make
32:27 your life easier and intelligent is a
32:31 key part of that see we actually have a
32:32 different view of intelligence than most
32:35 of the companies we see it as a deep a
32:38 degraded experience we see it as a tool
32:40 not just for finding things out but for
32:43 getting things done we see that the
32:45 vehicle for a new type of interface that
32:49 learns evolves and adapts to you I could
32:51 not be more excited to share with you an
32:52 innovation that will completely change
32:55 the way you use your mobile phone
33:10 the new intelligent interface that
33:12 reimagines the user mobile user
33:15 experience when we used touch on our
33:18 phones today even the simplest tasks can
33:21 take a lot of steps and that's where
33:24 voice technology comes in it's supposed
33:28 to make everyday interactions easier but
33:31 right now voice is an isolated feature
33:33 that doesn't really understand what's
33:36 happening on the screen Bigsby
33:39 understands context it knows what's
33:42 happening on your screen which allows
33:44 you to seamlessly move between voice and
33:48 touch let me show you what I mean let's
33:50 say my friend Cindy is meeting me for
33:52 lunch and I have to tell her my location
33:56 all I have to do is open up Maps press
33:57 the convenient vixeny button on the side
34:00 of the phone and say capture this and
34:05 send to finding Bixby understands when I
34:10 say capture this that context awareness
34:12 now let's say I have multiple Cindy's in
34:14 my phone oh basically smart enough to
34:17 know when it needs more information and
34:21 it will let me choose which what I mean
34:23 then I can finish up one touch by
34:25 selecting the right person typing in the
34:29 message and sending it off the whole
34:31 time I move seamlessly between voice and
34:36 touch beyond voice
34:38 Bixby's intelligence is embedded deep
34:42 into the camera so much of the
34:44 information we see every day is a visual
34:48 we see images signs products were
34:50 curious about but we have to translate
34:52 that into something our phones can
34:55 understand what Bixby would built
34:58 intelligence into the camera so it
35:01 understands what we're seeing and thanks
35:03 to our partners you can search for
35:08 images learn about landmarks shop online
35:12 and even translate languages now
35:15 whenever I come back to New York
35:17 I love looking for new restaurants Fida
35:19 so this past weekend I was roaming
35:21 around some old neighborhood and I came
35:25 across the Flatiron Building I pulled
35:27 out my camera and Bixby recognized it
35:30 but it also gave me some great options
35:34 for dining nearby it's great let's take
35:37 another example shopping online shopping
35:41 if you see something you want to buy
35:44 just point the camera at it and Bixby
35:48 will find it from one of our partners
35:51 with voice and vision Bixby helps you
35:55 get things done in an easy intuitive way
35:58 but basically also learns and adapts to
36:01 your routine to anticipate what you need
36:04 when you swipe to the right on the home
36:07 screen Bixby takes you to a contextual
36:10 personalized page that shows you the
36:12 information you use from the apps you
36:17 use on in one convenient place you'll
36:19 see a series of cards for native apps
36:21 like email and gallery and third-party
36:24 apps like Facebook and Eber and fixity
36:26 will organize these cards based on where
36:29 you are and what time it is in the
36:31 morning you might be news and weather
36:35 and at night your alarm and step count
36:38 and the more you use it the more it
36:42 learns so let's say I take uber most
36:43 states to work in the morning
36:45 Bixby will start placing the uber cart
36:49 at the very top of stacks you can also
36:51 use Bixby to create reminders that show
36:53 up at a certain time and place for
36:55 example I've been trying to plan a
36:57 vacation with my family to Thailand for
37:00 a long time and let's say I run across
37:02 an article at work and I don't have a
37:04 time to read it because I'm getting
37:08 ready for unpacked I can have this piece
37:11 set up a reminder for me to read it when
37:13 I get home and the moment I walk through
37:18 the door the reminder pops up thanks
37:19 people support native apps and
37:23 third-party apps like Google Play Music
37:26 just think for example you might be able
37:27 to play any song from Google's catalogue
37:29 using gesture
37:31 or access your music library with a
37:33 swipe to the right or even set a
37:37 reminder for when a new album drops that
37:41 bigsby it's an intelligent interface
37:44 that combines voice and touch images and
37:48 information your location and habits to
37:54 make your life easier now let's talk
37:56 about some other ways that Samsung helps
37:58 you in your life
38:00 Samsung has been committed to the
38:01 Internet of Things from the very
38:05 beginning and the promise of IOT is that
38:08 a connected ecosystem of devices work
38:11 better together and yet it hasn't
38:14 exactly turned out like that even with
38:16 smart devices things can get complicated
38:18 and you end up bouncing between multiple
38:21 apps so with the Galaxy s8 we're
38:24 fulfilling the original promise of IOT
38:27 giving you access to Samsung and smart
38:31 things devices through a single app it's
38:34 called Samson Connect when you open it
38:37 you'll see a dashboard of every single
38:39 connected device in your home but the
38:41 real power of the app is that you can
38:44 monitor and control your devices from
38:47 miles away I'd rather this has ever
38:49 happened to you but I find myself at a
38:51 grocery store all the time without a
38:54 shopping list right so I have no idea
38:55 what's at home so instead of pacing
38:58 around and wondering what's in my family
39:01 hub fridge I can use Samson Connect to
39:03 check inside and then when I get home I
39:06 know that I have everything I need for
39:08 that kung pao chicken and I make a great
39:13 contact checkin medula ultimately our
39:16 vision is for Bixby to use Samson
39:19 Connect to control all of the connected
39:24 devices in your home with your voice now
39:26 even with all of these smart connected
39:28 devices sometimes even basic
39:31 connectivity can be a problem and that's
39:33 why we're introducing Samson Connect
39:37 hope it's a premium router and IOT hub
39:42 in one it provides mesh base Wi-Fi
39:44 your connectivity at home and it lets
39:46 you control a Samsung and smart things
39:48 appliances to enhance your I oh t
39:54 options as you can see we've reimagined
39:55 not just how you interact with your
39:58 phone but with an entire ecosystem of
40:02 smart devices turning your phone into a
40:03 universal remote
40:07 for your life Bixby's delivers
40:10 intelligence in a practical meaningful
40:14 way Connect brings a powerful ecosystem
40:17 to life with a single app and our vision
40:19 is to bring intelligence and IOT
40:21 together to make your life easier and
40:25 better now as much as you love hearing
40:27 me talk about the Galaxy s8 I'm sure
40:29 you're wondering when you get to try it
40:32 yourself to tell you about our plans for
40:35 launch please welcome back Justin Dennison
40:36 Dennison [Applause]
40:36 [Applause] [Music]
40:50 Thank You sreeram with Bigby and samsung
40:52 connect you don't have to choose between
40:55 advanced features and a usable device
40:58 the galaxy FA gives you both so you can
41:00 do more than ever with fewer obstacles
41:04 in your way that's the power of this
41:06 device not what it does but what it lets
41:10 you do you can see more of your screen
41:14 create and share incredible content use
41:16 your phone as a wallet in an ID and
41:20 interact with it the way you want we are
41:22 thrilled to announce the Galaxy s8 will
41:32 be available starting April 21st yes we
41:36 are so excited we've been proud to
41:37 collaborate with industry leading
41:39 partners to improve every aspect of the
41:42 galaxy experience a month ago we
41:44 announced our partnership with Harmon
41:47 and today we're excited to show you one
41:48 of the first examples of that
41:51 collaboration every Galaxy s8 will come
41:53 with a pair of top-of-the-line earbud
41:56 from AKG also to be sold separately for $99

42:23 more than that it powers an entire
42:25 ecosystem of connected devices from
42:27 smart appliances that let you take
42:30 control of your own personal world the
42:32 VR technology that transports you to
42:35 worlds you've never imagined and to talk
42:37 to you more about the how the essay will
42:39 give you access to incredible immersive
42:42 experiences please welcome to the stage
42:44 Suzanne de Silva [Applause]
42:54 [Applause]
42:57 Thank You Justin it's great to be a
43:00 unpack not only do we get to show you
43:03 some really cool products we get to show
43:05 you some really cool products that help
43:11 you do play see and share more than ever
43:14 the Samsung Galaxy begin with your phone
43:19 but it doesn't end there as you heard
43:22 the Galaxy s8 turns your device into a
43:26 digital wallet a universal ID and even a
43:29 direct line to a doctor it breaks down
43:32 the physical and virtual barriers to
43:37 empower you to do more take VR for
43:43 example VR makes it possible to travel
43:46 halfway around the world in an instant
43:51 and feel like you're actually there but
43:53 what if you're also able to interact
43:57 with menus with content and you can do
44:01 it with 360 degrees of freedom well
44:05 that's why we created the motion sensing
44:17 now not only can you transport yourself
44:20 to a virtual world and seeping from
44:24 every angle you can also interact with
44:28 your environment of course
44:32 immersive experiences aren't two feet
44:34 without equally immersive content so
44:37 soon you'll be able to step inside
44:39 Paramount Pictures ghost in the shell'
44:42 movie and get close to the intense
44:45 action and amazing visuals like major
44:47 dive from the rooftop at her battle with
44:52 robot and our partners at oculus are
44:54 developing games that let you use our
44:56 new motion controller to build complex
45:00 machines explore new world or battle in
45:05 space VR is not just about movies and
45:08 games so we partner with content
45:10 creators like BuzzFeed and now this who
45:12 have massive audiences across their
45:15 social individual platforms to bring you
45:22 engaging everyday content in 360 this
45:25 summer we're also putting gear VR users
45:27 in the middle of the action by
45:28 live-streaming the hottest events
45:31 including a UFC title match a Live
45:34 Nation concert and a summer X game all
45:42 through our Samsung VR app we believe
45:45 you shouldn't be limited by expensive
45:47 headsets or lack of access to break
45:51 content and we believe that everyone
45:53 should have the opportunity to
45:59 experience VR of course making we are
46:02 accessible to everyone is not just about
46:05 making it easier to view and experience
46:08 it's also about making it easier to
46:11 create and share your memories as well
46:14 and that is why last year we introduced
46:17 the gear 360 it's an affordable camera
46:20 for creating your very own 360 degree
46:21 photos and
46:25 videos the gear 360 doesn't just show
46:28 you the world it shows you the world
46:30 from all sides
46:33 Geneva's great follow me to photos have
46:34 you ever wondered who's behind the
46:37 camera well now with the gear 360 wonder
46:46 this year we're making the gear 360 even
47:04 it's more portable with an enhanced grip
47:07 that fits comfortably in your hand it
47:10 shoots some brilliant 4k so you can
47:13 capture memories in clear high-quality
47:17 360 degree video and now you can live
47:20 broadcast your experiences in real time
47:23 on Facebook YouTube or sample they are
47:26 essentially breaking down the barriers
47:36 of time and distance alright let's see
47:46 there we go beautiful destinations right
47:48 now I'm across the street from you at
47:51 Lincoln Center beautiful destinations
47:52 our mission is to celebrate the beauty
47:55 of the world and all of its amazing
47:58 people places and experiences we've been
48:00 using the gear 360 all around the world
48:02 and we couldn't be more excited about
48:04 the new version as we push the
48:07 boundaries in engaging immersive content
48:10 for us it's all about storytelling and
48:13 360 adds a whole new dimension with the
48:15 new gear 360 you can share live moments
48:17 with your friends from anywhere around
48:19 the world are you guys ready to create
48:21 your own beautiful destinations over to Suzanne
48:30 [Applause]
48:33 people that that was exciting you're
48:36 going to love this we've got a special
48:38 surprise for everyone here in the
48:41 audience today in yeah instead of just
48:45 showing you the new GU 360 we want you
48:47 to be the very first people to try it
48:49 out for yourself what do you think about
48:54 that all right
48:57 you're going to see something employees
48:59 coming through the aisle handing you
49:02 your very own your 360 [Applause]
49:26 [Applause]
49:29 all right once everyone has one we're
49:32 going to travel the world together right
49:38 from lawsuit the auditorium is going to
49:40 transform around it and we're going to
49:43 capture these incredible views together
49:46 does everyone have one once you have one
49:50 put them up in the air all right all right
49:51 right
49:55 good job everyone's got one great now
49:58 what I'd like you to do is locate the
50:00 power button and hold it down for two
50:04 seconds to turn it on perfect you can
50:06 see a green light I'm seeing green
50:11 lights lots of green light great all
50:14 right now get ready
50:15 hold up your camera press the record
50:17 button we're going to capture this
50:29 so whether on rotation you see some
50:32 ethic scenery you want to capture the
50:35 essence of that moment all 360 degrees
50:38 of it there is no better way to do that
50:52 and with the gear 360 that was pretty
51:05 soon the new view 360 will launch
51:08 globally and everyone will be able to
51:15 capture their very own story at Samsung
51:19 we believe that 360 is the future of
51:22 storytelling and everyday creators like
51:25 you are the ones that tell the best
51:29 story so would you're a visionary
51:33 director a viral youtuber or a Sunday
51:36 hiker we want you to be able to create
51:40 and share in this new medium our
51:45 philosophy is simple you create 360 and
51:47 we make the tools to help you do it
51:51 and speaking of incredible new tools
51:53 that put the control in your hands I
51:56 want to introduce you to new sampling
51:57 experience that bridges the gap between
52:02 the desktop and mobile over the past few
52:04 years we've seen a transition from
52:06 traditional computers to mobile devices
52:10 and yet some things are just faster and
52:12 easier when you've got a monitor mouse
52:14 and keyboard like when you need to edit
52:18 a presentation that's why we created
52:21 some song deck it's a new productivity
52:23 tool that lets you power a desktop
52:28 experience right from your phone let me
52:29 show you how it works is the health of
52:38 hey John are you ready to show off how
52:42 awesome Dex is a Suzanne absolutely
52:43 let's do this
52:47 accessing Samsung Dex is super simple
52:50 it's literally plug-and-play or from my
52:52 busy work life more like plugging work
52:55 and check this out when Samsung Dex
52:58 launches I can use face recognition to
53:01 unlock my phone to get into my desktop
53:04 experience all I do here is click look
53:16 you can see John's home screen right
53:20 there on the monitor he's got multiple
53:24 windows open side-by-side and all his
53:26 essential smartphone apps like messages
53:30 calendar and email we're also working
53:32 with Microsoft and other partners to
53:35 optimize many more apps for something
53:38 dec John why don't we finish up that
53:40 presentation we were working on and show
53:43 everyone how simple yet powerful the
53:46 tool is you got it it's going to pull up
53:51 the presentation here and let's set it a
53:54 couple slides so this this slide looks a
53:56 little busy so let's move some content
53:58 over to the other slide I can do that by
54:01 seamlessly selecting the content with my
54:04 mouse I can use a convenient keyboard
54:07 shortcut like control X to cut it go to
54:11 the other slide ctrl V to paste it you
54:14 can also use a keyboard and mouse to
54:16 move it to the exact position that I
54:19 want on the slide that looks so good I
54:22 can also resize his image here so it
54:25 fits better on the slide let's say right
54:28 there it looks good I can also use a
54:31 full external keyboard to edit the title
54:35 and now I can simply go control s save
54:37 the presentation now that the
54:39 presentation is done let me send that
54:41 back to you Suzanne all I do is go to
54:47 email go to your message hit reply I'll
54:50 navigate to my files where my
54:55 presentation is what's really cool as
54:57 you can see I can drag the presentation
55:00 and drop it into the email message as an
55:15 amazing thanks John keep in mind
55:18 everything new jerks all was done using
55:21 the Galaxy S a thanks to its new
55:23 powerful and efficient ten nanometer processor
55:25 processor
55:28 we've also customize the interface to
55:29 run Android OS and a desktop experience
55:33 and because of sample nos our defense
55:35 grade security solution that built has
55:38 built right into the Galaxy S a your
55:40 sensitive data is protected when you use
55:47 something that add assessed
55:49 technological innovation gives us the
55:52 tools to visit and create new worlds to
55:57 break down barriers and do what we never
56:01 thought possible that's why we built
56:03 this ecosystem of connected devices and
56:06 why we made it intuitive and accessible
56:11 with the Galaxy Earth a we are so proud
56:14 of this device and incredibly excited
56:16 for you to see and experience it for
56:19 yourself but first I'd like to welcome

56:41 delivering meaningful progress through
56:45 their mobile innovation we believe
56:48 progress comes from applying human
56:51 insight to the hard work of solving
56:56 problems and overcoming attackers we
56:59 must be bold enough to stab into the
57:05 unknown and humble enough learn from our
57:11 mistake this is how new doors are opened
57:24 today the gallop Si and si plus offer a
57:28 gateway for new mobile life where the
57:32 power of innovation imagination and
57:36 inspiration will carry us beyond the old
57:41 barriers and into a world of unlimited
