0:03 hi everyone welcome to my Channel or
0:06 welcome back to my Channel today I
0:10 wanted to do a little one-year update on
0:13 gmta for everyone who doesn't know my
0:16 name is Charlie I was diagnosed with Ms
0:21 multiple sclerosis in July July or
0:25 August I think of 2022 I started taking
0:30 CA which is a DMT to help manage it in
0:34 in August 2023 and it is now October
0:36 2024 so I've been taking it for over a
0:38 year and I wanted to do a little update
0:41 on how I'm doing how my recent MRI
0:44 result was and recent blood tests are
0:47 and yeah just a general update I did a
0:50 6mon update a few months ago but I
0:52 didn't have any I hadn't done an MRI
0:54 when I did that six-month update I
0:56 hadn't had any blood test results back
0:59 and so I felt just a bit nervous putting
1:01 it out there because I feel really good
1:02 on it I felt really good on it still
1:04 feel really good on it but I was just a
1:05 bit nervous
1:08 because I didn't know what was going on
1:10 on the inside even though I knew I felt
1:14 good I didn't know if my brain and my
1:15 the MRI scam was going to come back
1:17 positive basically so I feel so much
1:19 more confident going into this video
1:21 knowing that I have like the facts and
1:24 the figures to let everyone know how I'm
1:26 actually doing I feel really really good
1:29 I have honestly gotten on so well with
1:31 cter I don't have any reaction to it at
1:34 all I literally take it it's a monthly
1:37 injection that you take um on your leg
1:39 or back of your arm but I've been told
1:40 by a few nurses that not to do it on the
1:42 back of my arm your leg or your stomach
1:44 I used to do on my leg I now do on my
1:46 stomach I just find it easier I don't
1:48 have as much of a reaction on my stomach
1:50 and yeah I take it it takes literally
1:52 about 25 seconds and then I don't think
1:55 about it for the rest of the month and
1:57 that's exactly how I wanted it to be
1:58 when I first got diagnosed I thought
2:00 that it was going to kind of take over
2:03 my whole life and I'm just so blessed
2:05 that it hasn't and I literally think
2:07 about it yeah one day a month do my
2:08 injection and I don't have to worry
2:11 about it the rest of the month so yeah
2:13 from I think Cass takes a few months to
2:15 kind of get into your system but from
2:17 honestly like the 3mon mark and onwards
2:20 I felt so good A lot of my symptoms have
2:24 been completely alleviated and now I
2:27 really only get a symptom if my body is
2:29 stressed out so if I haven't eaten right
2:31 or I haven't hydrated properly if I've
2:34 overworked like been working out too
2:38 much or whatever but dayto day I feel
2:39 really good I feel really energized I
2:43 don't have many symptoms and yeah I just
2:45 feel really really healthy which is
2:48 great I recently ran a half marathon
2:50 which was just a huge achievement I run
2:52 if I'm not running I'm at the gym if I'm
2:53 not at the gym I'm running I go on
2:55 really long walks every day I just have
2:58 a lot of energy and I am really really
3:00 grateful for that so yeah I feel really
3:03 good on kmta I had a few months where I
3:05 was reacting to the injection so I would
3:08 inject kmta and then I would get like a
3:10 rash and it would go really hard and
3:12 that would last for like maybe five or 6
3:14 days and I would just take a carot in
3:16 and then it would clear up but now I
3:17 feel completely fine and I can just take
3:19 the injection and there's no reaction at
3:22 all so that's amazing and very very
3:26 lucky very blessed so just as a body
3:29 like I feel great on it one thing I was
3:31 worried about when I first went on cmta
3:34 was the reaction to kind of like cuts
3:36 and infections and if I would get ill
3:38 more often but honestly that's something
3:40 I really haven't noticed there was a
3:41 part of me like last year as well that
3:43 was honestly a bit concerned because I
3:46 just hadn't noticed any difference in
3:48 the way I was healing about like cut
3:49 around cuts and if I was getting more
3:51 ill more often like I wasn't and so I
3:52 was like is it actually suppressing my
3:54 immune system at all because I feel
3:57 completely fine if I like cut myself
3:59 shaving or I don't know if I get like a
4:01 cut on my finger it just heals
4:03 completely normally as it would have
4:04 done a few years back before I had any
4:07 issues got ill maybe two or three times
4:10 in the past year and every single time
4:11 it's not lasted more than a week and
4:12 I've still had energy and been able to
4:15 do things uh so maybe I've maybe I've
4:17 gotten ill a bit more than usual but
4:20 it's not been more severe than it would
4:22 have been otherwise and I think that is
4:25 down to just a healthy body as well a
4:28 healthy body fueling myself correctly uh
4:30 and then kind of just overcompensating
4:32 with like the right food and the right
4:34 nutrition because I know that my immune
4:36 system is already a bit suppressed but
4:38 on the whole I haven't noticed any
4:40 difference in terms of reacting or
4:43 healing slower or getting more sick I
4:44 don't worry about kind of going into
4:46 really busy crowds I don't worry about
4:49 going into cities or traveling on planes
4:51 or anything like that I just go about it
4:54 as any other person would okay and then
4:56 the exciting part which is the results
4:59 from my recent MRI and blood tests so I
5:02 had one MRI since starting cmtel which
5:04 was in July so it's October now and I
5:08 had the MRI in
5:11 July and yeah I actually got the results
5:13 back the day before I flew so I flew
5:14 back to England for a few weeks and I
5:16 got the results back the day before I
5:18 flew so it was a very like a
5:20 nerve-wracking time and I was just
5:22 thinking about it for weeks it just
5:24 overtook my life because I was making up
5:26 all these scenarios of what I would do
5:27 if the results came back good what I
5:29 would do if they came back a negative
5:31 and just everything else in between and
5:33 what I needed to do and I was just so
5:36 worried the whole time but I got the
5:38 results back and I actually recorded it
5:40 so I'll put that in in a second but I
5:43 got the results back from the Australian
5:45 team um on like this end of things and
5:48 they basically told me that there was no
5:49 active disease at the moment
5:52 Unfortunately they couldn't access my
5:53 previous M result that I had done in the
5:56 UK at the time of the results so they
5:58 couldn't compare it to see if I had any
5:59 new lesions or not but she told me that
6:03 she was really happy with the MRI that
6:05 there was no active disease at the
6:08 moment and regardless of whether she had
6:10 could have compared it or not this was a
6:13 baseline MRI scan we won't I guess truly
6:16 know the effects of cmta until I have my
6:17 my other one because there's nothing
6:19 really to compare it to at the moment
6:21 blood tests all came back fine I've had
6:23 quite a few blood tests since then and
6:25 they all came back completely fine the
6:26 only thing that wasn't I don't really
6:28 know much about blood test but they
6:30 showed me the results and I was like y
6:31 like that seems good like I had no idea
6:33 what to say the only test that was like
6:35 out of range was my vitamin D and it was
6:38 like way way way too high I think that's
6:40 cuz I live in Australia and also when I
6:42 went back to the UK I started
6:45 supplementing vitamin D and K2 because I
6:47 was like oh what if my body is like sad
6:48 because it doesn't have as much vitamin
6:50 D and then I had the blood test and my
6:52 vitamin D levels are so high and like
6:53 obviously I'm like not concerned about
6:55 that I was just really happy for the
6:57 rest of them like all of my like immunog
6:59 globulin whatever it's called All of
7:01 levels came back fine everything was
7:03 really good and within range so I was
7:04 really happy about that and then when I
7:07 was back in the UK as well the Australia
7:09 team and the UK team had been kind of
7:11 corresponding with the previous M result
7:14 most recent M result and they sent me a
7:17 letter in the post to tell me that there
7:21 were no new Legions on the new MRI scan
7:23 came in such like a good time when I
7:25 originally got the MRI result to tell me
7:28 there was no current like disease or
7:31 active disease I was really relieved but
7:33 then also really wanted to know if there
7:35 had been any more progression or any new
7:38 lesions and so I was like relieved but
7:40 also a bit like I still feel kind of
7:42 anxious about it because I don't know
7:44 whether this is like if it's worked or
7:46 not if your seem to has worked but it
7:48 actually came at such a nice time to get
7:49 the result that I didn't have any new
7:51 lesions because I was with my brother
7:52 and my mom and so they got to then
7:54 experience that end of things of me
7:56 being like super just elated and over
7:58 the moon that I had no new Legion on my
8:02 Mr scan which is just crazy and honestly
8:04 like genuinely a miracle because I was
8:06 just so convinced that I was going to
8:08 have at least one or some new
8:10 progression because I just felt like I'd
8:12 had I don't know maybe some symptoms
8:14 from traveling or thought that I would
8:15 definitely have some more progression
8:18 and I didn't there were no new lesions
8:21 and yeah like I'm just so over the moon
8:22 I'm so happy and I'm just
8:25 so joyful that I can share like a
8:28 positive result kmta at the moment
8:31 currently is working for me and I feel
8:33 really really good on it I think just
8:36 overall like the the one thing I felt
8:37 when I just found out there it was
8:39 working and everything was good was just
8:41 so much relief I just felt like I could
8:43 finally breathe and I remember
8:46 beforehand like over planning everything
8:47 being like what am I going to do if it
8:49 comes back negative what am I going to
8:50 do if it comes back positive how am I
8:52 going to react what am I going to how am
8:53 I going to tell everyone and I had all
8:55 these like big plans and then as soon as
8:58 I found out that it was a positive scan
8:59 that it was a good scan that everything
9:01 went well I just didn't think about it
9:03 again and I I felt almost guilty because
9:06 I was like if I had received a negative
9:08 result it would have taken over my whole
9:09 life and it would have ruined my day it
9:11 would have ruined my week I would have
9:13 been distraught and so I felt so guilty
9:15 that I had a positive result I didn't
9:17 even think about it twice I was like
9:20 okay amazing like that's that's done I
9:22 need to get that off of my mind because
9:24 it had been all I was thinking about and
9:25 so the fact that it was in a positive
9:28 result was just such a relief and I was
9:30 just over the moon to be like okay I
9:32 don't I just want to like have a few
9:35 days where I don't have to think about
9:37 my MRI scan just just like a few days
9:39 and honestly since then I've just felt
9:41 like this huge weight of my shoulders I
9:44 feel so relieved I'm just so grateful
9:45 for the drug I'm
9:48 so yeah I'm just I'm just really
9:52 really happy and so so glad and so
9:54 grateful that I get to share a positive
9:57 result anyway uh yeah so that's my
10:01 positive MRI D to update at the moment
10:04 everything is great and that's all I'm
10:06 going to worry about now I'm not going
10:07 to worry about the future or worry about
10:09 my next MRI scan right now currently
10:13 today I feel good I know that the most
10:16 recent MRI was a good one and so I'm
10:19 yeah just feeling really positive about
10:21 everything so yeah I hope you guys
10:25 enjoyed this video and gained something
10:27 from it I will insert if I haven't
10:29 already I will insert the clip of me
10:31 finding out about the positive result
10:34 here it's like a very like ugly crying
10:38 clip of me just like it's just crazy how
10:39 fast my face changes like my face just
10:41 looks like this and then when I've been
10:43 crying it just like swells up and just
10:46 goes so puffy uh so yeah I'll insert
10:48 that now the link that was sent through
10:51 from the NHS is deactivated with time so
10:53 I've just literally emailed them um to
10:56 try and get a link back again so that we
10:58 can compare the images um but from what
11:01 we can see here at Gold Coast um
11:03 everything is okay there's nothing that
11:06 suggests that there's any active disease
11:07 um what we can't see is whether or not
11:09 there's been any disease between now and
11:13 the last MRI you had with um the NHS
11:14 you're well the Imaging that we've done
11:16 here shows that there's nothing active
11:17 um we can't tell you that there's
11:19 nothing new from the last images
11:21 obviously but um what's important is
11:23 that clinically you're well um your
11:24 blood test all okay as well that you did
11:29 earlier um in June um so we're on track
11:31 um it's just a matter of um the next MRI
11:34 to see where we're up to um but as long
11:35 as you're taking your medication on time
11:37 and you're doing everything um you know
11:39 we don't have any concerns in terms of
11:40 that there should be a breakthrough
11:42 disease but um we'll just see what the
11:44 next scan shows okay that's amazing
11:55 better feel like you knew it was going
11:56 to be like that deep down I know but
11:59 it's like so nice to hear yeah obviously
12:00 like it's like not active you're going
12:02 to make me [Laughter]
12:05 [Laughter]
12:08 cry just like all I wanted to hear from
12:09 like the
12:12 beginning like every M kind like had
12:13 like they just come back and be like
12:22 like like it's just such good news I'm
12:23 so happy I like really don't want to
12:27 tell my mom bad news I was so
12:31 worried oh my gosh that's lit like all I
12:33 wanted to hear from the beginning is
12:44 cry
12:47 yay oh yeah and I've been like not yet
12:50 and I've been like eating like random
12:51 stuff as
12:56 well you eat and I had a fish bow before
13:04 go eat a slice of bread or
13:07 something just want I don't even like
13:08 bread that much I don't even love bread that
13:10 that
13:13 much no active disease at the moment nothing's
13:21 active wooho I honestly just feel so
13:24 positive talking about it and I really I
13:26 really just enjoy talking about it at
13:27 the moment and I really like being open
13:30 about it so yeah I'm going to start
13:32 uploading some more videos on here so
13:35 yeah I hope you enjoyed that and I will
